You accused United States Marines of cold-blooded murder without proof and said we should redeploy to Okinawa . Okinawa, John? And the Democrats call you their military expert! If you truly supported our troops, you'd show the world poster-sized pictures of that atrocity and demand the annihilation of it. The Obama administration recently revealed a plan to require private insurance carriers to reimburse the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) in such cases.
Great idea Obama. Once you've made the military a mess you'll then have to come in to save it as only you know how to do.

Tea Party: Rage In Cincinnati
UPDATE: I titled this post because the the photograph
below. Since that time I have read at Bizzy Blog and Virtuous Republic (see
links to them below) about a reporter, Adam Marshall from WCPO, who felt that he
had to run away because he was in danger from attendees at the rally. I do not
believe him. I did not see any activity at the rally that was out of line except
one woman who kept yelling her support for Obama and trying to interrupt the
rally.
If Adam Marshall was so terrified, I ask him to produce proof. Unlike
liberals, progressives and socialists, we do not put up with actions such as
Adam Marshall described. If what he says is true then those responsible should
be prosecuted to the fullest no matter who they are. Otherwise, Adam Marshall is
just another reporter with their panties in a twist and trying to make a lie a
story.
The Tea Party in Cincinnati, Ohio was impressive. There are reports of over five thousand people attending and it appears those reports are accurate (police reports confirm). The rally was
held in Fountain Square and the square and surrounding areas were packed to hear speakers and to vent at what people believe is wrong about the Pelosi, Obama, Reid administration. More taxes, more spending, bailouts and larger government.I saw a lone Obama supporter trying to argue with people, actually yelling, but she was repeatedly booed down.
Though the mood was of good spirits, there was an under current of anger with the administration and the direction it is taking the country.

"We are in the worst financial crisis since the Great Depression, and a lot of you I think are worried about your jobs, your pensions, your retirement accounts," he said.
But now we find that maybe the grate communicator is changing his tune.

It will not speed recovery. His cure is killing the patient and all for his vision of government which, now that people are finally and for the first time finding out what it is really, is not shared by the electorate.

Last year the Governor and the Ohio General Assembly joined hands in a bi-partisan effort to pass a $1.5 billion “stimulus” package called Building Ohio Jobs.
This effort left Ohio with an 8.8% unemployment rate in February. Defenders of Ohio’s politicians will say Ohio is just experiencing the downturn in the national economy. But how do they explain that from December ’08 to February ’09, national unemployment grew from 7.2% to 7.6%, a 2.8 percent increase? In Ohio it went from 7.4 to 8.8, almost a 20 percent increase.
How did our neighbor, West Virginia, hold its rate to 6.2%? In 2008 its Democrat governor cut taxes and cleaned up the state’s unemployment comp mess-- it didn’t reward political patrons with $1.5 billion of pork-filled “stimulus” spending.
Now Ohio’s Governor has proposed a budget with a gap that will require $8 billion in federal “stimulus” funds to close. These federal dollars contain strings in a variety of programs that will increase Ohio spending on welfare and other things for years to come.
And to get to a point where $8 billion of federal funds will balance the books, the Governor has proposed a “no tax increase” budget with new and increased “fees” that will raise more than $1.25 billion in new revenue.
Ohioans are ready to tell Ohio politicians, "Enough is Enough!"
It’s time for Ohio to live within its means, to create a government that does not require a tax burden that drives its most productive citizens to other states.
The more than 10,000 members of Americans for Prosperity in Ohio are making a difference.

Obama Is Now Congress' Punk
He ran to make a difference. He was going to change America and the way Washington, DC did the people's business.
He would allow no earmarks.
First came the Simulus bill. He said no earmarks. Well, not many.
Now comes the budget bill. Tons of earmarks by Democrats and Republicans alike. Congress is laughing at Obama. The nation is laughing at Obama.
Obama is their cute little punk who will be told what to do and when to do it.
Obama defends pet projects and signs spending bill
President Barack Obama, sounding weary of criticism over federal earmarks, defended Congress' pet projects Wednesday as he signed an "imperfect" $410 billion measure with thousands of examples. But he said the spending does need tighter restraint and listed guidelines to do it. Obama, accused of hypocrisy by Republicans for embracing billions of dollars of earmarks in the legislation, said they can be useful and noted that he has promised to curb, not eliminate them.
Obama is in way over his head, but we're the ones that are going to drown.
What a pitiful joke.

Carville was joined by Democratic pollster Stanley Greenberg, who seemed encouraged by a survey he had just completed that revealed public misgivings about the newly minted president.
"We rush into these focus groups with these doubts that people have about him, and I'm wanting them to turn against him," Greenberg admitted.
The pollster added with a chuckle of disbelief: "They don't want him to fail. I mean, they think it matters if the president of the United States fails."

BTW, The US is a country of some importance in the world. You know the old cliches that everyone seemed tired of in the last election, beacon of hope in the world, most generous, most productive and the bulwark against crazies and puffed up rookies who think they know better than all of us losers who believe in our country, our fellow man and freedom.

We destroyed the Iraqi state and catalyzed anarchy, sectarian violence, terrorism, and civil war in that country. Meanwhile, we embraced Israel’s enemies as our own; they responded by equating Americans with Israelis as their enemies. We abandoned the role of Middle East peacemaker to back Israel’s efforts to pacify its captive and increasingly ghettoized Arab populations. We wring our hands while sitting on them as the Jewish state continues to seize ever more Arab land for its colonists.

Worst Economy Since The Depression
Went to an art opening by an artist named Gail Waller last evening. It was wall to wall people. It had to be, because Waller is an outstanding talent.
After the show four of us went from restaurant to restaurant in the Short North, downtown and German Village attempting to get a quick bite before the after art opening party. There were lines everywhere.
After a long wait and dinner, we then attempted to go to the party which started at the Burgundy Room in the Short North. Wasn't a chance we could find a parking space nearby. Finally getting there, I had to convince the fellow at the door we were meeting a party in the back room. The place was packed. Shoulder to shoulder. Laughter, canapes and drinks consuming the air.
Leaving the Burgundy Room around 11:00 PM we went to the house of a good friends for an after-party after-party where I listened to to people talk of the financial crisis that President Bush put us in and how this depression could take years and massive government help to cure.
I walked to the bar and poured a very stiff single malt from a $200 bottle of scotch and sat to watch the sadness of the worst economy since the Depression.

The Economic Lies Of Sin Taxes
The tobacco settlement went to tobacco cessation programs, right? Lottery taxes pay for that quality public education that Dick, Jane and Johnetta get, right? Cigarette taxes pay for the increased cost the filthy habit imposes on society, right?
Nah. Sin taxes are a hoax.
Do they do some good? Yes. Do they do harm? Yes. Do these taxes help the very people they are purported to help through social engineering by local, state and the federal government. No. Do these taxes encourage more wanton government spending which allows government to interpose itself more into our private lives? Absolutely, yes.
Most importantly, are these taxes 'healthy' form of taxation? No, they are a perfidy upon our system of government.
Bootleggers, buttleggers and lootleggers are now a common forms of crime throughout the country and is getting worse daily because of further increases in government taxation on products that the public wants.
Government gets away with it by holding the innocent, the children and the health of the nation as reasons for otherwise logical citizens to buy into their illogical and false arguments. It would be more honest for the government to put a picture of a kitty on each product and say, "Pay the tax or kitty gets it." Unfortunately, our induced entitlement society no longer seems to have a problem with a dishonest government. In fact, to get 'theirs', they have embraced it and have thrown logic and truth out of the window. As long as they get what is 'owed' them, screw the other guy.
Sin taxes do not discourage the great majorities of their target, The Center for Disease Control has issued papers and studies showing that smokers remain the same percentage as before, even increasing in certain age and sex groups. Alcohol sales have remained steady until recently when they headed up sharply. Even though most people do not view lotteries as taxes, they are indeed, and not paid by all, but only by those whose engage in playing the lottery.
As one state increases their tax, the state next door increases their tax until one state lowers their tax to increase traffic (lower taxes do increase revenue) and then the first state makes a law that prohibits the interstate importation of said product from the lower taxed state back into their state. So much for fair interstate commerce, but the real culprit is interstate competition in business. Competition, as we all know, between private commerce is our market system and a good one for balancing prices and quality making for a good value for the consumer. Anti-price gouging laws are the counterbalance. Business competition, ie, monopoly enforcement, between states and other forms of government has been and is a disaster which hurts the consumer.
State lotteries, once forbidden nationwide, have grown exponentially to 'stop' the flow of money from one state to another. When one state forms a lottery, the one next door is likely to jump on the education/lottery bandwagon because they state 'their' tax dollars are fleeing the state. First, it isn't the state's money; second, the state should not be in business (think Fannie and Freddie); and third, the state lies to their citizens by stating what the raised tax money will be spent on and then spending it elsewhere and actually just creating another bureaucracy.
Higher and higher taxes to stop people from smoking and to pay for the increased costs of smoking on society is a set of canards that Barnum would be proud of. As smokers tend to die younger, they have not only saved the government and society a pot of money, they have paid for the right to die younger in sums that would make organized crime blush which is why organized crime has jumped into these markets. They want to steal as much money as the government has only without taxation, just profits. At least they are honest about their dishonesty.
Cigarette Taxes Are Fueling Organized Crime
Last month, New York law enforcement authorities announced the arrest of Queens resident Rafea al-Nablisi for smuggling 12,000 cartons of cigarettes a week. It was not the first such arrest, and thanks to New York's latest cigarette tax hike, it will not be the last.
On April 23, less than two weeks after Mr. Nablisi's arrest was made public, Gov. David Paterson signed into law a $1.25 per-pack tax hike on top of the state's $1.50 per-pack tax. That's in addition to New York City's own $1.50 per-pack tax. Come July 1, New York City's smokers will be paying on average $9 a pack for legal cigarettes.
But if history is any guide, most cigarettes sold will actually be trucked up from Virginia, or shipped in from China, by "butt-leggers" who can make over $1 million on each tractor-trailer load of smuggled smokes. The blunt fact, which politicians of both political parties are determined to ignore, is that high cigarette taxes in New York have led to a bloody, decades-long smuggling epidemic.
While the problem first surfaced during the Great Depression, tax hikes in the early 1960s created a major profit opportunity for smugglers and kicked the epidemic into high gear. By 1967, a quarter of the cigarettes consumed in the Empire State were bootlegged. New York City's finance administrator labeled cigarette smuggling the "principal stoking facility of the engine of organized crime."
Smuggling is very profitable. My ancestors could attest to that. Smuggling has become very dangerous and violent which takes law enforcement away from protecting the general public which does not engage in smuggling. This is yet another form of hidden taxation when we are asked to be taxed more for our safety when the increased crime and violence was actually made possible by government and then encouraged as they ignore reality and further increase their stupidity and our taxes.
Sin taxes are regressive, ie they disproportionately target the poor. These taxes hurt the very segment of society which they purport to help. Love stinks. They are regressive in another way as well as children learn that smoking, drinking and gambling are stupid, ergo their parents or family members who do so must be stupid and the state smart, making sin taxes good thus we, as a society, must have more taxes paving the way for more government programs and departments they were never intended to take part in, but are supported by certain segments of society and politicians hoping to pad their nest and get re-elected.
This is the rotten dais from which lies about the economics of taxation and sin taxes are told.

Why don't the worms, spewing gas about man made, nee angler's beauties, global warming, climate change or whatever, take it up with God? He listens to all, but as my grandfather told me, he doubted that He suffered fools glady.

Nothing Represents Workers Like A $1,000 A Night Room
Unions are all up in arms over executive pay. They even have a web site:

Yet, chief executive officers of the firms most responsible for causing the crisis collected hundreds of millions of dollars in pay last year. Featuring the heads of more than 50 of unions, representing millions of workers, the executive council is discussing the best way to move the economy forward and to advance labors issues.
"We're at a time when our economy is in collapse and working people are suffering as a result of it all," AFL-CIO President John Sweeney told CBS4 News.
Labor played a critical role in President Barack Obama's election and their support remains essential as he tries to pass his economic recovery plans.
Their meeting was held at the Fontainebleau Hotel in Miami, recently refurbished for around a billion dollars. The Fontainebleau features very high priced restaurants (11 of them) and high priced rooms.
These union guys sure know just how the little guy gets by. To show their unity with the workers they stayed at a 4 star hotel instead of a 5 star one. The valet parking is only $32 a night.

Obama Snubs Brits. Gets Pen Set.
Uh, maybe the Obama should have asked some grownups like VP Biden or SOS Clinton about this before listening to Axlerod. The worst part is that maybe he did.
Downing St left embarrassed after President Obama scales down first meeting with Brown
Downing Street was left scrambling to avoid a diplomatic embarrassment today after the White House ruled out a formal press conference to mark Gordon Brown's first formal meeting with Barack Obama.
Officials denied the Prime Minister was being snubbed after it emerged that the new president would not make himself available for the traditional joint appearance before the White House media.
Mr Brown's aides are trying to make the best of what is a distinctly low key visit compared to the family hospitality lavished on Tony Blair by George Bush when they met for the first time.
Just because being nice to one of our best and most forthright allies has worked well in the past doesn't mean the Obama feels it's necessary now. He is change. Change is him. No reason our foreign relationships shouldn't go south as fast as our economy.
He added he would like to think his relationship with Mr Brown was 'terrific' and stressed his personal links with Britain through his mother's family.
Yeah, if those personal links are so important, how about an Ambassadorship to Scotland, Wales or Prussia for me. You know, because of my Momma. He was joshing us right? Please tell me was.
'The notion that there's any lessening of the special relationship with Britain is nonsense,' he said.
The fact that he had to say this should tell him something about his approach to foreign affairs.
Behind Mr Obama's shoulder was the bust of his hero Abraham Lincoln which replaced a bronze of Winston Churchill presented by Tony Blair to his predecessor George Bush and removed shortly after the new president took office.

Downing Street hopes their talks will extend beyond the relatively modest 90 minutes allocated for their meetings and a private lunch in the White House.
Apart from a separate meeting with Vice President Joe Biden, there are no other events planned.
The Obamas are not holding a dinner for the Browns, and the Prime Minister will not be hosting a reception or dinner at the British embassy.
Mr Brown will present the president with a pen-stand made of timber from HMS Gannett, a Royal Navy ship that served on anti-slavery patrol in the 19th century.
Yep, 90 minutes of chat and that's it. Cross the Atlantic, get lunch and 90 minutes. I hope the Obama cherishes the pen stand.

Downing Street hopes their talks will extend beyond the relatively modest 90 minutes allocated for their meetings and a private lunch in the White House.
Apart from a separate meeting with Vice President Joe Biden, there are no other events planned.
The Obamas are not holding a dinner for the Browns, and the Prime Minister will not be hosting a reception or dinner at the British embassy.
Mr Brown will present the president with a pen-stand made of timber from HMS Gannett, a Royal Navy ship that served on anti-slavery patrol in the 19th century.
Yep, 90 minutes of chat and that's it. Cross the Atlantic, get lunch and 90 minutes. I hope the Obama cherishes the pen stand.

Limbaugh Suffers From Low Esteem?

Janeane Garofalo, owner of "I Hate Mysef Productions", knows that she is a better person than Rush. As one comedienne to another, she told Countdown's Keith Olbermann that her being a better person is a "scientific fact."
Whoa, with science behind her, I feel so much better.
Garofalo also hates Gov. Palin. As the owner of 15 beautiful tattoos, Garofalo pretty much hates anybody that is not a leftists which gives her so much quality time to hate the majority of people in this country.
Recently, she had the time to join a hate huddle with Mr Positive, Bill Maher:

I've a friend that has had a tremendous amount of self inflicted problems as her self loathing and lying become her two most prominent features. She wants to now become a psychological counselor.

Just got back from getting lumber. While out I kept flipping through talk shows because everybody was yelling.
At the lumber store they had a local station on, but I was busy planning and didn't really listen until checkout. A contractor was talking to the owner about the difference in their presidential votes. As the owner started defending Obama I thought the place was going to come apart. Unmentionable words started flying, especially concerning the stimulus - nonstimulus- bill. Being a peacemaker, I just said, "How about those bailouts?" and remembered that I still needed to look at underlayments in the back.
Back in my car, I went through the dial to get a sampling of opinions. Everyone was still yelling, not just the host. I dialed in Newark, Columbus, Dayton, the Big Red in Cincy and Pittsburgh. They all had one thing in common. Every time anyone tried to defend the Obama, Pelosi and Reid people got angry. One guy in Pittsburgh tried to say that we should give Obama more time, but received a tongue lashing from another guy who just had to lay off 5 people because his customers are scared to death because of the anointed one's rhetoric and crap programs.
At home I mentioned this to my wife who pointed out rather sharply, "They allowed themselves to be hoodwinked. Their bad. Hopefully it won't kill our country."
Hoodwinked by a looking pretty fast talking rookie from corruption land. Yep, that about wraps it up.

I Love Keith Olbermann
He's the three stooges in one person. He is a walking poster child of polyester suits and hair. His glasses scream German techno-rock star, but with less talent.
He exaggerates. He pontificates with platitudes that only his guests can agree with. Of course, Olbermann is known to be rude, nasty, vindictive and threatening to those that disagree with him. Olbermann knows he is right because Olbermann doesn't believe anyone is smart enough to understand just how smart Olbermann is. That must be why he has been fired or bounced from every where.
Olbermann is a clown.
Instead of big floppy shoes and orange hair, Olbermann has super wide lapels, synthetic hair, and a face that is just shy of being a caricature. His smarmy, little researched and stupid comments that act as punctuation marks to a comedic career are brilliant.
No individual can be this simply stupid, thus he is funnin' us.
My favorite is that lately the ever inferiority complexed person known as Olbermann loves to make is that Limbaugh's rating are only up by 40% while Olbermann's is up by 62%. I guess adding millions of listeners as opposed to Olbermann's dozens of watchers is a point we should all go to sleep with.
Rachael, whatever her name is, that wipes up after Olbermann has signed off, is a breath of fresh air. She gives weight to a wispy wind that wafts through an empty room. Unfortunately, nobody listens. Except for me.
MSNBC is my comedy channel. I enjoy watching it. Olbermann is America's Benny Hill without the depth. Maybe a course or two at a local college might help his gravitas.
In the meantime, Keith, just be you. Your parody of yourself is wonderful.

Through a series of supposedly random but arguably deliberate chain of events, America is poised to jettison 220 years of a free market system called capitalism, in favor of the tried and failed system of socialism. This writer, and others, are now starting to question how we reached this point.
Last summer, as McCain and Obama were in the midst of their campaigns to capture the presidency, a series of events dramatically changed the focus of the campaign from Iraq to the economy. From that point on, Obama took the lead and eventually won the presidency.
As then President Bush and his administration started sounding alarms in earnest about Freddie and Fannie the Democrats, especially Barney Franks, pooh-poohed him and liberals asked, with furrowed brows, why the President was a racist who didn't want poor people in homes.

I loved it when 'Republicans' said they wished this new President well and they hoped he succeeded. Huh?
Then there were those who asked, "What real harm can he do? He'll have to govern from the center. Besides, next election we'll get real conservatives back in office." Looking pretty stupid now, eh?
Obama and his handlers in and out of Congress are using the time tried carrot and stick, aka class warfare, to put in place their agenda of creating a European socialist structure here in America. Soft socialism. Socialism that cares. Socialism that isn't ugly or mean. Socialism that treats all the people equally.
What a crock of crap we have wrought right here in the land of the free and the brave?
Just a few examples:
Mortgage interest deductions will be limited for those making $250K and over.
Medicine costs will rise dramatically for those over that magical number of $250K, lowered for those under the magic number.
Current tax cuts will expire.
Tax increases for working families. Especially on those evil cretins called employers.
Oh, just to prove that they have heart, cigarette taxes will rise yet again by 62 cents on every pack, but those poor people who smoke will be made smart enough to shun cigarettes in the future through medical education and increased monies to the schools to preach the preachiness that good government and good health go hand in hand.
Pelosi, Obama, Reid, Soros. In just a few months, if all goes as planned, their hope is that government will really be seen as the only entity that is big enough to handle our problems. The deficit will/has skyrocketed while countries such as Communist China and Russia, aka Mini USSR, will announce that the US is too much a risk to continue to support our debt, thus stop.
The government bureaucracy will continue to pump out fiction-as-fact to support the continued work of our savior in DC. The administration will continue to turn on its head the phrase, "in for a penny, in for a pound" by accentuating the hardship we all face and stupid platitudes like, "We must not replace our curtains when our foundation needs fixed."
Meanwhile, back at the ranch, Obama is pledging budget cuts through waste, fraud and pay to the rich reductions. This warrior with his face into the wind and his eye of our safety and our future will sacrifice all to save us.
What a crock of crap.
This is simply a choreographed bureaucratic dance to consolidate power by welfaring over half of the voters who already do not pay taxes. Yes, over half the voters do not pay taxes. Now, those that work will subsidize those that do not, but now those non-tax payers have a partner in the federal and state governments and they will vote for Democrats. It really is a New Deal, again.
And it will be just as destructive to our core principles as the first New Deal because eventually those that are paying the taxes and the bills of our nation will arrive at that point where they say, "What the hell, I'll just get the freebies too."

The DC Voting Bill did pass the Senate today with 62 votes. My vote count was just about right....except Utah's Robert Bennett switched to no and Alaska's Lisa Murkowski and Mississippi's Thad Cochran switched to yes. Why? I don't know. The yes folks also had George Voinovich on their side. That is very, very disappointing, Senator Voinovich.
They are knocking down one crisis after another of their own making. Good job on that whole hopey-changy thingy.

I have Sprint phone(s). In fact I have a number of them for my family and my extended family. Whenever I call Sprint with a problem or a change I am told, "no", we can't do that. Invariably I am informed that it is a "privacy issue" which is protecting me from myself.
Is Sprint a part of the Federal Government? They both want to protect me from myself and from unknown, but potentially dangerous situations that only they see.

This actually good. What's actually bad is that each taxpayer should sock it away so they can afford to pay the tens-of-thousands of dollars that each living person in America will have to pay for the Democrat's payola back to their supporters bill known as the Stimulus Plan.
Either that or they can buy 1/50th of a big screen TV. Too bad for the lady that believed Obama was going to pay her mortgage and put gas in her car. A tenner just isn't going to cover those things.

Now, Diane Feinstein decides what foreign policy and national security info gets out to the world. I think she's still peeved that the Obama didn't garner her wisdom on cabinet picks.
Feinstein's Blurt Leads to U.S. Confirmation That It Uses Pakistani Air Base
The Senate intelligence committee chairwoman claims to have learned from open sources that the U.S. was operating unmanned drones on a Pakistani air base, something the U.S. had denied -- until her blooper.
Feinstein's spokesman suggested at the time that her comment was merely a reference to a March 2008 report in The Washington Post that discussed the use of Pakistani bases as part of the Predator campaign. The article did not attribute the information to U.S. officials.
The Predator campaign, considered the single greatest factor in degrading Al Qaeda's capabilities, is credited with the killing of eight members of the terrorist group's leadership since last summer.
The acknowledgement that the Pakistanis not only are turning a blind eye to U.S. operations in their territory, but also are lending a hand by supplying a staging area could create political problems for the fragile government of President Asif Ali Zardari. The U.S. was permitted to use Shamsi to launch attacks on Al Qaeda in Afghanistan shortly after the Sept. 11, 2001, terror attacks in the U.S.
Amb. Teresita Schaffer, director of the South Asia program at the Center for International Studies, said Feinstein's slip was definitely not intentional.
"Hell no," Schaffer told FOXNews.com. "I am quite sure that was not a subtle signal by the U.S. government. Senator Feinstein said what she said and I am quite confident the U.S. government did not want [it] to be acknowledged, both because of the usual concerns about operational security ... but secondly, and perhaps even more importantly, it's intensely politically embarrassing to the government of Pakistan."

The Senate intelligence committee chairwoman claims to have learned from open sources that the U.S. was operating unmanned drones on a Pakistani air base, something the U.S. had denied -- until her blooper.
Feinstein's spokesman suggested at the time that her comment was merely a reference to a March 2008 report in The Washington Post that discussed the use of Pakistani bases as part of the Predator campaign. The article did not attribute the information to U.S. officials.
The Predator campaign, considered the single greatest factor in degrading Al Qaeda's capabilities, is credited with the killing of eight members of the terrorist group's leadership since last summer.
The acknowledgement that the Pakistanis not only are turning a blind eye to U.S. operations in their territory, but also are lending a hand by supplying a staging area could create political problems for the fragile government of President Asif Ali Zardari. The U.S. was permitted to use Shamsi to launch attacks on Al Qaeda in Afghanistan shortly after the Sept. 11, 2001, terror attacks in the U.S.
Amb. Teresita Schaffer, director of the South Asia program at the Center for International Studies, said Feinstein's slip was definitely not intentional.
"Hell no," Schaffer told FOXNews.com. "I am quite sure that was not a subtle signal by the U.S. government. Senator Feinstein said what she said and I am quite confident the U.S. government did not want [it] to be acknowledged, both because of the usual concerns about operational security ... but secondly, and perhaps even more importantly, it's intensely politically embarrassing to the government of Pakistan."
Way to go Diane. Now, remind me, how did you get on the intelligence committee?

Racists & Cowards Always Charge Racism & Cowardice
In a month dedicated to being black, Eric Holder charged that we, as a nation, are cowards because we do not talk enough about our racial differences.
Holder: US is nation of cowards on racial matters
In a speech to Justice Department employees marking Black History Month, Holder said the workplace is largely integrated but Americans still self-segregate on the weekends and in their private lives.
"Though this nation has proudly thought of itself as an ethnic melting pot, in things racial we have always been and continue to be, in too many ways, essentially a nation of cowards," said Holder, nation's first black attorney general.
I grew tired of the talking years ago. First the talk was about how we are all the same and now the talk is about how we are all different. Of course all through this talkfest it has been about money and power.
Those doing the talking, actually self righteous lecturing, have made a lot of money and have gained a lot of power and those talking include both white and black as well as red, brown, yellow and every other group. Too much talk and not enough action.
When I was in high school I first heard the talk. I heard about integration. I heard about equal rights. A professor at the local private university held a public lecture pointing out the rotten soul of America because of racism. He didn't find it ironic as he described the separation of races in society, in education and work that the audience in the school chapel was a mixed race audience and that different races sat comfortably together because they worked together, went to school together and played sports and entertained together. That is because he felt he was talking the word to the heathen and it never occurred to him that the heathens ignored the talk and just walked the walk.
It was then that I realized that there are those that talk and then there are those who do.
Eric Holder has to keep yammering to keep the public's eye in another direction because if they looked directly at him and listened to what is really important, his actions, they'd know that Holder is a coward using racism to hide his past and to further his agenda.
As in all things American, the people do things in a far better fashion than the government. It is a far better world where people are people and an equal people. It is a far worse world in which revenge and racism has been codified and made the acceptable norm among those that feel the need to feed of the soul of our nation.
I wish they'd shut their damned mouth and leave all of us to live our lives together.

Long regarded in the US as a folly of Europeans, nationalisation is gaining rapid acceptance among Washington opinion-formers – and not just with Alan Greenspan, former Federal Reserve chairman. Perhaps stranger still, many of those talking about nationalising banks are Republicans.
Lindsey Graham, the Republican senator for South Carolina, says that many of his colleagues, including John McCain, the defeated presidential candidate, agree with his view that nationalisation of some banks should be “on the table”.

“You should not get caught up on a word [nationalisation],” he told the Financial Times in an interview. “I would argue that we cannot be ideologically a little bit pregnant. It doesn’t matter what you call it, but we can’t keep on funding these zombie banks [without gaining public control]. That’s what the Japanese did.”
You cannot be ideologically a little bit socialist either. A government that accepts a little socialism, as our government already has, is more willing to accept more and more, arguing that we've always returned to capitalism in the past.
At what point will Congress decide that there is no reason to return to capitalism and retreat from socialism? We may be at that point.

Publishing The Names Of MurderersTo Save Lives
Applaud the Commercial Appeal, time to open all gun records
Everybody wants to save lives. Hopefully we can agree on that.
To that end, if the left, supporters of government as our savior, thinks, nee, applauds, publishing the names, addresses, etc., of people who own guns because it may save just one life, why don't we publish, say every Sunday morning, the names of those that have taken part in abortions?
If it works for the gun, logically, it should work for the scalpel or the vacuum or whatever device or drug abortionists and their accomplices may use.
Everybody wants to save lives. Hopefully we can agree on that.

Muzzammil Hassan Or Why Muslims Have Problems Fitting In

In head-to-head battles in the Muslim community, it appears that women lose every time.
Some history on the couple:
Muzzammil Hassan came to America from Pakistan 25 years ago. He became a successful banker in Buffalo, New York, near the famed Niagara Falls.
While he and his wife were happy to be in the United States, they were upset by the negative perceptions of Muslims, and particularly how this perception might affect their children.
That is how they came up with the idea of Bridges TV. Mr. Hassan’s wife challenged him to start it.
“I had no background in television. I didn’t know anything about TV. Her comment was, ‘you have an M.B.A. (masters degree in business) why don’t you write a business plan?’”
And so he did. He quit his job at the bank and for the next two to three years worked almost non-stop in developing an English language television network that offers news and entertainment for Muslims.
Mr. Hassan hopes Bridges TV lives up to its name by uniting American Muslims and by helping non-Muslims overcome the negative images they may have of both Muslims and Islam.

To many of my friends and peers that are Muslim or have married Muslims it seems to be a belief by degrees by the believer in Islamic tenets. While some will shake their heads and say this is wrong, there are others who will publicly speak against the practice, but privately agree.
That is why Muslims have perception problems in America. It is too scary for many to believe what they will do and it is also to scary to believe them as a community. The alleged murderer is not a poor Muslim living in a dusty village far from here, but a successful businessman with a MBA and a host of people who thought he was offering peace and understanding. He did not murder in the heat of the moment, but sawed his wife's head off because she wanted a divorce.
The more that people hear about this culture the less they ask how do you understand it, because they more times than not now ask, why even try.
