Same Old Crap: Sherrod Brown & Voinoch Part Of Pork Parade
Aren't elections great.
There are a ton of Republicans on the list.
The next election will be even greater and will empty the trough and the sty.
Maybe they need to earmark some money for hearing aides. They can't hear. They sure as hell don't need glasses. None of them even read the crap they vote on.
UPDATE:
Congress's contempt for voters hits new high
The bill is exactly what the voters rejected on November 2nd. It's 1924 pages and will cost $1.1 trillion. No one has had a chance to read it, but Harry Reid hopes to ram it through in the last hours before Christmas. Does this sound familiar?
Read the whole post. Spot on.

Republican Defense Pork Hypocrisy
If it increases government power, vote against it.
What part of this do Republicans in Congress not understand?
Less spending. More freedom.
This isn't just about TARP, Stimulus or socialized medicine and scads of fascist programs like National Service and the arts.
It includes pork.
Most Republicans support our mission in Iraq and Afghanistan. Most Democrats do not. To Democrats, these missions which defend the United States by eradicating terrorists and free 50 plus million people, take away money for their 50 plus years power surge. Money for troops means less money for power. Power, in Democrat terms, means higher taxes for even more money, more government control couched in do-goodedness and control of the message that points out the wrongness of not infiltrating every aspect of our lives, if only to help us, by righting a perceived socialital slight.
If the Kennedy family (and their servant, Kennedy-lite Kerry) wants a quasi presidential museum for Ted, let them go ask the Kopechne's for the money. If Vitter and Landrieu want money for a Louisianna World War II Museum that duplicates efforts across the nation, let them ask the alumni of the University of New Orleans, where they want to build, to pony up the cash.
If most Republicans support our mission in Iraq and Afghanistan, why are they stuffing the funding for our troops there with pork for Republican pet projects. Correct me if I'm wrong, but acting like big spending, corrupt and amoral Democrats got the Republican Party right where it belongs as back benchers whose opinions aren't asked for nor wanted by Democrats and voters alike. The latter because they feel that if Republicans are going to act like Democrats, why not vote for Democrats who are at least honest about their dishonesty. The former because Democrats don't like competition, there is only so much self righteousness and graft to go around.
Republicans, such as Snowe and Collins of Maine want $20 million in Humvee money for workers in Maine, Republican Cochran of Mississippi inserted 35 earmarks for $206 million in a Murthaean effort to "not cede the power of the purse to any administration." Hey, Thad, why not cede the power of the purse to the taxpayer?
Over all, $2.6 billion in pork was inserted via 778 pet projects. Many of these pet projects were inserted by Republicans and these projects take away from military operations and maintenance. That's guns and ammunition and things like training. Granted, many in Congress don't think these things are important, but that any Republican shares this view makes them hypocritical disgraces.

Liberal Democrats To Tax Poor Children & Easter Bunny
Soda Tax Weighed to Pay for Health Care
On Tuesday, the Senate Finance Committee is set to hear proposals from about a dozen experts about how to pay for the comprehensive health-care overhaul that President Barack Obama wants to enact this year. Early estimates put the cost of the plan at around $1.2 trillion. The administration has so far only earmarked funds for about half of that amount.
The Center for Science in the Public Interest, a Washington-based watchdog group that pressures food companies to make healthier products, plans to propose a federal excise tax on soda, certain fruit drinks, energy drinks, sports drinks and ready-to-drink teas. It would not include most diet beverages. Excise taxes are levied on goods and manufacturers typically pass them on to consumers.
Senior staff members for some Democratic senators at the center of the effort to craft health-care legislation are weighing the idea behind closed doors, Senate aides said.
As Congress dines on the sweet pork of corruption, they will tax sweets to fund programs to force us to stop having sweets. And the beauty of big government is that they will parade "experts" in health and wellness from the public sector of government bureaucrats, government unions, educational unions and private sector "experts dependent on government money to testify just how dangerous sweets are to society.
Thus begins the Obama National Socialism movement, a movement that will make poor people poorer, children go without that which the movement deems unnecessary and make the better society the movement demands whether this society wants it or not.

Zack Space Drunk Driver Medalist

Zack Space doesn't really have to come up with his own caustic lines when he can steal and then twist statements from PJ O'Rourke;
"Giving money and power to Congress is like giving whisky & car keys to teenagers."
As the cliche goes, if you put Congress in charge of deserts, there'd be a sand shortage in no time.
Zack, never one to lose a chance to pander, now has evolved from a "consumer protection" lawyer into a businessman extraordinaire. AIG is contractually obligated to pay the bonuses, but Zack the businessman says they are exhibiting "irresponsible behavior" if they follow the law. Maybe Zack is trying to drum up some business to help the aggrieved recipients if the bonuses are not paid or maybe he is just following the de jour memo from Pelosi to keep beating on business and raising taxes more and more.
SPACE CALLS FOR 100% TAX ON AIG BONUSES
03/17/09- Taxpayers Would Recoup “Reward” for Irresponsible Behavior -
Responding to calls for action from outraged constituents, Congressman Zack Space (OH-18) today called for a 100% tax on bonuses awarded by AIG to their top employees. Despite taking $170 billion in taxpayer-funded bailout, AIG is unbelievably awarding their executives $165 million in bonus compensation.
“Giving these executives bonuses for their performance with AIG is like giving a drunk driver a medal,” Space said. “Instead of handing these reckless executives checks for millions in bonuses, they should be handed pink slips.”
“If AIG can’t figure out a way to stop these payments, we will just have to take that money back,” Space continued.
The AIG Taxpayer Protection Act, which Space has cosponsored, would require AIG to pay 100% of the value of the bonuses awarded back to the taxpayers. This bill is set to be introduced today.
Congressman Space is also an original cosponsor of the Cap Executive Officer Pay Act of 2009, a bill that will limit the amount of salary, bonuses, and stock options for executives of companies receiving federal rescue assistance to prevent this from happening in the future.
Congressman Space has represented Ohio's 18th Congressional District since 2007. He is working to restore integrity to the office, create the conditions to bring new industry and jobs to Ohio, and support renewable energy.
Maybe Congress needs to tax these people at 100% to make up for all the Obama nominees who didn't pay their taxes. Of course, Zack's dream is to tax every business 100%. That'll teach the money grubbing business owner a thing or two. Of course it would put the federal government further in debt, but they'll just print more bogus money. That's how they do business.

Unknown, Unread Socialist Stimulus Bill Must Pass In Time For Pelosi To Get To Rome For Brunch
HURRY, FELLAS, LET'S VOTE, I AM OFF TO ROME!
Rep. John Culberson, TX claims the "stimulus" bill must be urgently voted on today -- because Speaker Nancy Pelosi is leaving at 6:00 PM for an 8 day trip to Europe!
Culberson made the charge on Houston's KSEV radio.
Pelosi is hoping to lead a delegation to Europe; there's a meeting with the Pope and an award from an Italian legislative group.
Calls to Pelosi's spokesman went unreturned.
In the rushing, Democrats have now broken their promise to have the public see the $790 billion bill for 48 hours before any vote.
Sen. Frank Lautenberg (D-N.J.) predicted that none of his Senate colleagues would 'have the chance' to read the entire final version of the 1,071-page bill before it comes up for a final vote.

Cross-dressing kingpin arrested
Ugo Gabriele, 27, who insisted on being called KITTY, was held by armed officers in a raid which also saw 27 other mobsters arrested.
Cross-dressing Gabriele, who had long blonde hair, ran a sophisticated drugs and prostitution racket in Naples, Italy, and his clan had dozens of members.
His mugshot showed him as thick set and butch looking – but he also had very defined PLUCKED EYEBROWS and was wearing LIPSTICK.
The southern Italian port city is a popular destination for British holidaymakers en route to Sorrento.
But it is also home to the local Mafia, known as the Camorra.
A police spokesman in Naples said: "We have been on Kitty’s trail for several months and it is the first time that we have ever arrested a transsexual Mob boss.
Maybe the Dems new legislative Sunshine pledge is really an all inclusive/all government Don't Ask, Don't Tell pledge about anything they do or try to pass legislatively. At least in Baltimore's new corporate Little Italy.
Why know what you're voting on when bella donna Pelosi wants empirsi le budella.

The Stimulus Plan IS The National Catastrophe
Let's see. The President has never had a real job. The Congressional leadership brings many dittos to the aformentioned. The writers of the plan get sweetheart deals because of their positions, denied that Freddy Mac & Fannie Mae were in trouble or are under investigation for corruption. Uh-uh, no potential for catastrophe with this mix.
If Arlen Specter or any other Republican vote for this catastrophe they are dumber than a box of rocks and are in no way a Republican.

Ohio, Strykers And Pork Beating Victory In Iraq
, Ohio, are loved by the troops using them. Yes, there are improvements to be made, but boots-on-the-ground like them and say they are very effective which is why those in Washington, DC are pumping out reports of failure as fast as their commandeered counterfeit machines can pump them out. Their pork is more important than MGS "pork" that wins battles and saves soldiers lives.Stryker Crews in Iraq Rally to Defend Their Rides: Field Report
The insurgents behave differently when an armored vehicle is present. “It establishes fear, if you will, in those who would try to do us or our fellow soldiers harm,” Holbrook says. “The enemy is a lot less likely to attack if we are out there.”
...........
Why help our soldiers help 50+million people coming out of the heart of darkness to live in peace and freedom when you can build entire bureaucracies to "help" those that refuse to help themselves as they have their hands out for more government goodies.

Government Research, Statistics And Damned Lies
How are we to know who to believe? We can't know, at least from what are considered traditional sources because they bend studies to their own means. Many are kind and say the different groups "interpret" data. I'm not kind. They lie about data.
U.N. to Cut Estimate Of AIDS Epidemic
Population With Virus Overstated by MillionsThe United Nations' top AIDS scientists plan to acknowledge this week
that they have long overestimated both the size and the course of the epidemic,
which they now believe has been slowing for nearly a decade, according to U.N.
documents prepared for the announcement.
So, I guess that the numbers were
Estimate of AIDS Cases In U.S. Rises
New Test Places the Rate Of Infection 50 Percent Higher
New government estimates of the number of Americans who become infected with the AIDS virus each year are 50 percent higher than previous calculations suggested, sources said yesterday.
So, I guess that the numbers will be
How does the average citizen decide who or what effort they should believe in? Traditionally, people have trusted a source, like St. Lukes, and have answered their plea for funds. Some causes, such as children's cancer, elicit private financial support as well as demands for public funds. This is so because people want to trust and have learned to trust certain groups. Now, I think people are generally beginning to no longer believe, especially anything related to government sources and sources perceived to be aligned with the government.
To many people, CDC and NIH, as examples, are nothing more than extensions of rich special interest groups and taxpayer paid bureaucrats that have agendas they want to foist on American society. That they are using our taxes to try to socially engineer us into their vision of what society should be. It is also fabulous job security, saving us from ourselves using our money to pay for their jobs.
Personally, I think AIDS has become a cash cow, much like race and poverty, for special interests and most governmental departments and agencies. To them, conquering AIDS, racism and poverty may be laudable goals, but a lot of money can be made while those goals are sought. More profitable though, would be if they're not conquered, but just contained to certain levels that constantly give a smaller profit, but over a longer term. Including advertising revenue.
Anymore, I wouldn't believe The Washington Post if they wrote that night is dark and day is light. I'd believe in a heartbeat that they had spiked or hyped a story in hopes of profit. And I'd laugh at their denial.

Mugger Murtha Likes Surge, No Word On Haditha
Murtha finds military progress in trip to Iraq
Warns that Iraqis must do more for their own security
U.S. Rep. John Murtha today said he saw signs of military progress during a brief trip to Iraq last week, but he warned that Iraqis need to play a larger role in providing their own security and the Bush administration still must develop an exit strategy.
"I think the 'surge' is working," the Democrat said in a videoconference from his Johnstown office, describing the president's decision to commit more than 20,000 additional combat troops this year. But the Iraqis "have got to take care of themselves."
Murtha finally admits the surge has worked. He has not discussed whether the military justice system has worked concerning the "cold-blooded murderers" of Haditha.
Without an apology and an admission that he was wrong Murtha has no credibility. Well, he never had any with me, he just dug his hole deeper.
UPDATE: Nancy "I'm so spitting mad" Pelosi has probably been throwing things as well as fits over Murtha's inability to stop his mouth from moving before he has his brain engaged. Poor Harry "Dem punched me too much" Reid keeps watching any credibility he may have had slip through his fingers and away. At least Pelosi married money.
UPDATE II: Murtha gets confused again. Unfortunately, getting confused is easy for Murtha. Did the President, Rumsfeld, Rice, Cheney, Clinton, Rockefeller, Murtha, Democrats in general or the Pentagon talk about WMDs?
Murtha even yelled at a reporter during a recent press conference, telling the reporter that the news coming out of the Pentagon regarding Iraq is not believable.
"They don't need to do the things — you're missing the point — because the Pentagon says it, you believe it?," Murtha yelled. "You believe what the Pentagon says? Huh? With all the things that they have told us, you believe what — I mean, go back and look — 'mission accomplished,' Al Qaeda connection, weapons of mass destruction, on and on and on, and you believe the Pentagon?"
Believe the Pentagon? Yes, I do, especially before I would ever believe you Murtha. You loser, but at the moment the fact that you have put the madam, Pelosi, in a bad position, has made me smile.
Poor Pelosi, her little attack dog, Mugger Murtha, has slipped off his leash and the neighbors are laughing because he has bit Nancy in the butt. Good.

Humberto & Landrieu-One Unpredictable
Landrieu knew then and she knows now that she and the politicians in Louisiana screwed the pooch during and after Katrina and lied about it. They are still to this day lying about their incompetence and corruption concerning the federal money sent to Louisiana to repair business and buildings.
This is so predictable. Hurricane Humberto is not.

I can't add anything at this point.
Taxes
At first I thought this was funny...then I realized the awful truth of it.
Tax his land,
Tax his bed,
Tax the table
At which he's fed.
Tax his tractor,
Tax his mule,
Teach him taxes
Are the rule.
Tax his cow,
Tax his goat,

Tax his coat.
Tax his ties,

Tax his work,
Tax his dirt.
Tax his tobacco,
Tax his drink,
Tax him if he
Tries to think.
Tax his cigars,
Tax his beers,
If he cries,
thenTax his tears.
Tax his car,
Tax his gas,
Find other ways
To tax his ass
Tax all he has
Then let him know
That you won't be done
Till he has no dough.
When he screams and hollers,
Then tax him some more,
Tax him till
He's good and sore.
Then tax his coffin,
Tax his grave,
Tax the sod in
Which he's laid.
Put these words
upon his tomb,
"Taxes drove me to my doom...

Do not relax,
Its time to apply

Murtha, Marines, Haditha and Mugger's Lies
“An untimely exit (from Iraq) could rapidly devolve into a civil war,
which would leave America’s foreign policy in disarray as countries question not
only America’s judgment but its perseverance.”
(From Rep. John Murtha's 2004 book "From Vietnam to 9/11"...
where Murtha advocates that the U.S. should
not pull-out or Iraq prematurely or create a timetable)
"Our military has done everything that has been asked of them, the U.S. can not accomplish anything further in Iraq militarily. IT IS TIME TO BRING THEM HOME." (Rep. John Murtha on the War in Iraq, Congressman John Murtha website, November 17, 2005)
"Well, I say that the fight against Americans began with Abu
Ghraib. It began with the invasion of Iraq. That's when terrorism started."
(Murtha, Nov. 17, 2005, News Hour with Jim Lehrer)
"They [the Marines/Military] knew the day after this happened that
it was not as they portrayed it. They knew that they (marines) went into the
rooms, they killed the people in the taxi. There was no firing at all. And this
comes from the highest authority in the Marine Corps, so there's no question in
my mind,"
(Murtha, May 2006)
"There was no firefight. There was no IED that killed these innocent people. Our troops overreacted because of the pressure on them, and they killed innocent civilians in cold blood"
(Murtha, May 19, 2006)
''We can go to Okinawa. . . . We can redeploy there almost instantly.''
(Murtha, June 11, 2006, Meet The Press)
"We can't win this."
(Rep. John Murtha, Congressional Record, June 15, 2006, p. H4028)
"We are causing the problem."
Rep.John Murtha, Congressional Record, June 15, 2006, p. H4028)
"American presence in Iraq is more dangerous to world peace than
nuclear threats from North Korea or Iran."
(Murtha, June 24, 2006 South Florida Sun-Sentinel)
Concerning the Haditha Marines that Murtha mugged with a guilty verdict during an investigation. Mugger has little to say. In fact, it seems he is cowardly hiding from his false, but damning words.
Still Running for Cover
John Murtha. “Mad Jack”. “Mugger”. Possibly “Mothra’s Ugly Brother”. He has gained many names, but the assignation the Congressman likes the best is “hero”. Is he a hero?
Democratic Congressman Murtha is not a war heroRead the rest and google “Murtha Marine Hero” and decide for yourself.
On the occasion of his attacks on the troops and the nation’s Iraq policy, I again took interest, as he was described as an injured war hero. John Murtha is not a war hero. I am certain if and when the truth comes out one will find that his awards were given long after he left Viet Nam. Murtha is, in my opinion, a phony and has used his veteran’s status to climb to the top of several committees where he can and does influence pork for Johnstown.
Me? I think he is an opportunist old hack having his past lies and duplicity coming full circle to bite him in the ass.
Throw him out.
...
