Oil For Blood In The Middle East

For years we have heard delightful people scream "No blood for oil" or some some such political ditty.

I believe we are in Afghanistan and Iraq for many reasons and the stability of our economy is part of that and oil is part of our economy. Oil is a substance with which a despot like Saddam could use to blackmail or bring governments down.

Question to our friends across the aisle:

Do you want terrorists or terrorist states such as Iran controlling Iraq's oil fields to pursue more terror on innocent people?

Architecture for Humanity Getting Off the Ground

Via Veritas et Venustas to this post.
Just add a power source, say a Category 4 hurricane and most of these designs will supply the lift to really get off the ground.
Dumb design, dumb reasoning and people dumb.

Chilean Sea Bass Meets Sarah Lee and Gets Gored

My wife commented on the menu a couple of days ago.

As the joke now goes, "Nobody doesn't like Sarah Lee", but this is about Sarah Gore Lee and her marriage menu. Sarah is the daughter of Algore and the Gorelees had everyone dine on Chilean Sea Bass as in the endangered fish.

Having jetted to the daughter's California wedding fresh from saving the earth with globe trotting rock stars, the Tennessee tycoon of global warming sat down to the dish.

I am not sure if Algore immediately jumped back on his jet to burn up some sky so as to check the settings on his spanking brand new solar panels sooner than later. The earth is in the balance, you know.

Dunno, maybe that's Tipper's job. She usually does the heavy lifting.
A sister in S CA wants to leave, but her neighborhood is so devastated by illegal aliens she can't find a buyer. She says a barrio is not the same as a ghetto. A ghetto has hope.

Conservative Beach Girl has an excellent post of the subject.

Illegal's Crime Devastating Families

Report: Deportation Devastating Families

An estimated 1.6 million children and spouses have been separated from
family members forced to leave the country under toughened 1996 immigration
laws, a human rights group said Wednesday.

The separations have taken a toll on families who have sold homes,
lost jobs, lost businesses or been thrown into financial turmoil, Human Rights
Watch said in a new report.

The widespread impact on American families has been truly devastating, said Alison Parker, a senior researcher with Human Rights Watch.

American families? I don't think so.

What is truly devastating is the cost, financially and ethically, illegal immigration has on America.

Now lets discuss terrorists sneaking across the border. Whose families will be devastated?

Oh, Really?

"Tonight is not a stunt, it's a statement," said Sen. Mary Landrieu, D-La.
