Ohio: Reality Punishes Polls And Those That Buy Into Them

It's almost laughable.

“In terms of absentee ballot requests, Republicans are hugely over-performing their 2008 levels, and the Democrats are underperforming compared to 2008, especially in the big counties,” he said. “What this means is that the polls are wrong. For weeks polls have shown an Obama lead ranging from 1 point to 8 points. But these absentee ballot requests reflect a huge enthusiasm gap among Democrats and Republicans, and I’m predicting a total shift from 2008.”

The smugness of the past is fading as their vaunted polls are punished by reality. I'm sure they will say  it's racism somehow.

I am sure that it was merely coincidence that there were 490,000 dead/duplicate voters registered in 2008. Well all their votes have been suppressed. Is there no shame for the dead duplicates? SHOCKER: Ohioans Really Believe Romney A Viable Human

I love to watch people swoon over polls. Just as the military made up the bulk of the beginning of the anti-war movement leading up to the Vietnam War, today's campaign professionals know a pig in a poke when they see one, polls.

Such luminaries of the polling world as the New York Times and the Washington Post have been wrong so many times as to convince watchers to bet against them every time because the odds against being right. It's easy to bet against in-kind political contributions when they are transparent lies. That local news outlets simply pass on the lies is a given, especially in these cut-and-paste days of no reporting.

In the 2012 presidential campaign these same in-kind contributions are being made again all over the country and especially so here in Ohio where The Washington Post has Obama up by 8 points. Maybe in downtown Toledo where Obama should be up by 16 points if there were any people living in downtown Toledo.

The press in its herd mentality has been reporting on Romney's "worst week" as if it were true because that is what they do to help their guy. The week was so incredibly bad for Romney that Obama needs a +10 Democrat weight in the polling to have a slight edge, but it must be reported that Obama is up by 8 so that republicans get depressed and the Romney campaign must spend more money to counteract such lies. That is campaigning here in Ohio, Romney VS Obama and his lapdog media.

How to account for the massive crowds appearing at Romney, Paul or Romney/Paul rallies here in Ohio? Simple, in this "new" campaigning, voters don't believe the media nor their polls. In short, the voter knows they are being lied to because it is the new norm which they do not like, but accept as reality. They accept that they cannot change. They cannot change that they have no longer are a part of because the voter has left the mainstream Republican and Democrat process because they see it for what it is. Fixed. The old guard wants to control Romney, but with his pick of Ryan he quietly told them, "No, thank you." Now they take pot shots at him, his campaign and what he says.

Ohio believes Romney to be a decent man and a good candidate. Ohioans really believe Romney a viable human. They also believe he can beat Obama. I know I do.

According to the local fire department, Obama spoke to a crowd of about 14,000, well short of the arena’s 18,300-person capacity. Campaign officials said before the event that they had been expecting an “overflow” crowd.

It might be because his hosts were a wife abuser, a failed governor and an astronaut who still owes millions for a failed presidential bid. BTW, the millions owed, Glenn is a millionaire, is owed to staffers, small business and others from 1984.

U.S Sen. Sherrod Brown, former Ohio governor Ted Strickland, and former senator and astronaut John Glenn appeared with the president in Ohio.

Obama Escalates Election Fight in Ohio, Virginia

Obama is "kicking" off his campaign to be re-elected in Ohio and Virginia. Here in Ohio, as in Wisconsin, our new governor is undoing the damage that Ted Strickland did to the state. Ohio is again producing new jobs, economic growth and doing away with boondoggles like high speed rail. In short, he is leading.

Obama is bringing his "ideas" such as high speed rail boondoggles, high cost schemes like ObamaCare, an economy that he has made worse and his hope of a government bigger than the private sector. None of this will help Ohio, in fact this is the thinking that drove business and people out of Ohio in previous years.

Obama has nada for Ohio.

When I was visiting a friend in Columbus in 1997, he gave me a tip on where to find this mill ruins. It is along the Olentangy River, south of Delaware. It is easy to find, right along Chapman Road. The best view is from the other side of the river on busy Rt 315. From there the side opposite this looks quite large and impressive. This is not typical of abandonment in the midwest and looks more like you are in Europe.

This was just down the road from us. It's a fun place.

Republicans Lost Issue 2 In Ohio All by Themselves

Unions spent $30 million spewing lies about SB 5. Republican supporters of SB 5 knew they would, but didn't match the attack dollar for dollar nor did they effectively counter the outright lies of the in-state and mostly out of state unions. As professors and teachers cajoled their students to vote no and unions used the media to spread the lie that police, teachers, firemen and services would be sliced leaving citizens vulnerable to murder and mayhem with children wandering the street even more ignorant than they are now, Republican leaders did little to counter the lies. What they did do they did a day late and a dollar short.

This will hurt Gov Kasich. Even though the major dailies supported Issue 2 in their editorial pages they also ran anti-Kasich stories on a daily basis. After the public beating Kasich has received at the hands of the copy and paste (from the AP) newsroom reporters the support Issue 2 group still made him the front man for success. That will hurt Kasich even more.

The biggest loser, besides the voters stuck with the bill for the public sector union boondoggle, will be the cities and towns of Ohio. Even before the vote this localities were spending up to 80% of their budgets to pay the salaries, benefits and perks of union workers. We'll all be stuck with their bill. Republicans can make a check next to their name for this loss.

We did send Obama a mud pie on Issue 3, which was a toothless issue, but did reject ObamaCare soundly. We'll still have that, I guess.

Ohio Issues 1, 2, 3

Vote Yes on all three.

1. Yes to raising age limit on judges
2, Yes to reigning in our budget and making unions play by the same rules as nonunion workers
3. Yes to protest ObamaCare

All three are winners for Ohio.

The Death Of The Left And Obama's Presidency?

The left is still running around in circles blaming George Bush for (enter subject here) and every time the sharpies on the left read, cut and paste polls, rants and other people's words on (enter subject here) moderate Americans move further right. When people hit themselves in the forehead with 2 X 4s repeatedly and then complain to the doctor that their head hurts the doctor generally tells them to stop hitting their forehead with 2 X 4s. Another thing that occurs is that other people start shunning them because they're unbalanced and possibly dangerous. This is a pretty good description on today's left in America.


From 2008 to 2010, North Dakota was the only state that did not suffer a decline in either its median family income or total employment. Over that period, the median income declined in every other state, while the number of people at work fell everywhere else except in Alaska and Texas. But, even amid this widespread distress, the sharpest losses were concentrated in the Sun Belt and the Rust Belt states—many of them among the swing states likely to decide the 2012 presidential election.

The unions are already pouring millions of dollars into Ohio and sending in foot soldiers by the thousands for this November elections. They will stay until the 2012 election. Other leftist groups are doing the same as well as universities and colleges. In short, if a group depends on tax dollars, government support and have a history of holding taxpayers hostage then they are pouring money into states they need to win in the hope they can at least save Obama.

If Obama keeps doing what he is doing now and the Democrats continue to insist on more taxes than they have already passed this could be the end of progressive politics for a generation. Oh, and Obama, Michelle and the kids will have to oversee the White House staff pack their belongings for shipment back to Chicago.

Ohio Used To Be A Great State

Battered by the likes of Celeste, Taft and Strickland the great state of Ohio has sunk to one of the most over taxed and less free states in the country. According to this site Ohio is #42 out of 50. Hopefully, Batchelder and Kasich can lead the way back to a great Ohio.

Analysis

Ohio performs poorly in nearly every conceptual area. Spending and taxation are higher than average, with administration, education, and social-service spending especially high as a percentage of personal income. On the plus side, government debt is below average. Ohio, like three other states, does not allow private workers’ compensation insurers. However, unlike North Dakota and Wyoming, it does allow employer self-insurance for workers’-compensation. The state’s occupational-licensing regime and level of health-insurance coverage mandates are decent. Ohio has improved its eminent-domain regime, but further reform is warranted. Its liability system is only average. On the other hand, Ohio’s asset forfeiture laws are quite good, with the state more than a standard deviation better than average. It could improve even further, though, by shifting the burden of proof to the government. Gun-control laws are relatively poor, though not extreme as in the case of states like Illinois or California. In fact, Ohio allows open carry without permit. The state authorizes sobriety checkpoints but does not mandate motorcycle helmets. Marijuana laws are liberal overall, but cultivation and sale sentencing could be reformed. Most gambling is illegal. Homeschooling regulations are unreasonable, including teacher licensure and mandatory state approval of homeschool curricula. However, private-school regulations are lighter. Draconian smoking bans are in place and cigarette taxes are above average. Beer and wine taxes are reasonably good but the spirits tax is fairly high.

Unions: Voters Join Walker, Kasich Christie In Rejection Of Union Greed

Don Surber points out some realities in West Virginia. The number one reality is that in what was once a hard core union state the voters have turned against them. That voters have become anti-union is even more important because it was in a Democrat primary.

Why labor lost the race in West Virginia

Democrats. Democrats in West Virginia. Democrats who supported the Exalted Cyclops, Robert C. Byrd, who supported every union and every piece of union legislation. Democrats.

The unions here in Ohio had huge protests at the state capital against Republican Governor John Kasich and S.B. 5, a bill to have union members pay more of a fair share of their benefits, and lost. Unions in Wisconsin vowed to take down Republican Governor Walker, to take over the state capital and to defeat Judge Prosser in his election as a referendum on Walker’s union policy and they lost, lost, lost. Unions in New Jersey took on Republican Christie and ran into the Sicilian Irish Express who offered to help them pack their bags if they wanted to flee. Three states with three new Republican governors dealing with Democrat budgets that were killing those states.

Unions were dying before Democrats shored up the movement by initiating public sector unions. Public sector union is a nice way to say government workers whose big bosses extort higher pay and benefits than enjoyed in the private sector for themselves at tax payer, i.e. non-government workers, expense. The movement to rein in union power and corruption is spreading across the country even rearing its head in places like New York and California which is a death knell for unions.

A second movement, immigration reform, is also spreading and if successful it means that illegal aliens will not become legal and not be able to vote Democrat in higher numbers than they already illegally do. If, and it is a big if, Democrats lose on both of these issues it will cost them not just votes at home and in congress, but also millions of dollars with which to further their progressive policies. If this happens there will be a shift in the body politic of seismic proportion and there won’t be enough federal emergency funds or stimulus packages to save them. The rejection would be final.

Democrats In MA Screw Their Base, But This Time They Do It Openly

It's about time that the unions start to feel how other Massachusetts voters feel after being totally screwed by state Democrats. It's ironic that things are so bad in Taxachusetts that even Democrats realized they had to cut some dead wood away from the ship of state before it sank under the freebies, handouts and outright bribes that have been needed to oil the liberal Boston Machine.
