Original Sin Makes Representative Democracy Impossible

Really? Yes, if one aspires to be a scientific sociologist within the ranks of our political elite. This elite “knows” that we, the people, are actually incapable of knowing what is best for ourselves nor how to obtain that best. How will they govern this ungovernable rabble?

Their authoritarian progressivism—at odds with the democratic, pluralistic traditions within liberalism—tends to evoke science, however contested, to justify its authority. The progressives themselves are, in Daniel Bell’s telling phrase, “the priests of the machine.” Their views are fairly uniform and can be seen in “progressive legal theory,” which displaces the seeming plain meaning of the Constitution with constructions derived from the perceived needs of a changing political environment. Belief in affirmative action, environmental justice, health-care reform, and redistribution from the middle class to the poor all find foundation there. More important still is a radical environmental agenda fervently committed to the idea that climate change has a human origin—a kind of secular notion of original sin. But these ideas are not widely shared by most people. The clerisy may see in Obama “reason incarnate,” as George Packer of  The New Yorker put it, but the majority of the population remains more concerned about long-term unemployment and a struggling economy than about rising sea levels or the need to maintain racial quotas.

That the Constitution has allowed for 235 years of self governance through “that government of the people, by the people, for the people” is irrelevant to the political elite. So irrelevant that this form of government must “perish from the earth” for the rabble has displayed too many flaws and therefore are too stupid or ignorant to know what is best.

Welcome to the authoritarian progressive world of today. A world that will be ruled by the scientific sociologist elite from their bureaucratic seats of power in academia, government and celebrity politics. That the majority of the people oppose them is merely more proof to them that the people aren’t capable making a right decision. Our original sin is self reliance and that sin begs for authoritarian progressivism. A fancy way of saying that bureaucrats will force you to do that you think wrong.

The phrase “power to the people” has been turned on its head.

If you allow the federal government the right to express that you, the citizen, have a right such as abortion you have also given them the power to take it away. I guess the statists can brag they taught the kids something well.

Then they go home, have drinks and speak of the good they feel they are doing. How would they know when they have never seen a patient? They're fools, but fools with a government salary, pension and protection that prevent individuals fro holding them accountable in a court of law for being arrogant and stupid.

Justice? Right. Justice would be if these credentialed know-nothings were made to live, actually live, and work in the areas they smugly control through government decree rulings from their puppets in unnecessary departments of government such as the EPA.

President Obama is now being ruled by the monster he empowered and enlarged, called the bureaucracy, as they slap not just him, but also citizens, in the face by making him a liar. In the not too distant past the president had this to say:

“Five miles into a mountain. The only light, the lamp on their caps. Day after day they would burrow into the coal. The fruits of their labor that so often we take for granted. The electricity that lights up a convention center; that lights up our church or our home our school our office. The energy that powers our country. The energy that powers the world."

Not now. The energy that powers the world is being crushed by mere bureaucrats and naive and ignorant extremists groups like Earth Justice. A statement of purpose from Earth Justice on the ruling:

Although we are grateful for the EPA’s action today, EPA must follow through by vetoing the scores of other Corps permits that violate the Clean Water Act and that would allow mountaintop mines to lay waste to our mountains and streams.”

So, by government fiat Earth Justice wants to crush projects all over Appalachia. Just as these groups have done in the Western parts of North America they now want to include Appalachia in a system of protected areas that already include over 1/3 of the entire land mass of the United States of America. That is 1/3 of our land that not only forbids our energy future, but also is under the complete control of government. That control means that for a fee a citizen might enjoy the land for a few minutes, but they cannot produce, nor can they live, on that land. That is not only theft by government on individuals, but also theft that robs all of our citizens as the land stays fallow.

These anti-societal groups envision a land mass called the Appalachian National Park that citizens can gaze at, but not touch. The citizens will do so from cold homes which offer no comfort for the unemployed and those devastated by a ruined economy, but what will Earth Justice care? They will still have jobs in cramped expensive urban cores where they live because we will still pay through our taxes their salaries so they can mete out more "justice."

That will bring comfort to the people of Sharples.

TSA Doubles Down On 'Touch My Junk' Stupidity

Now TSA is doubling down on their stupidity and the government and the courts seem to be in lock step in the effort to stifle dissent by citizens who think TSA is not only not effectual, but also acts a bunch of low IQ thug guards.

Yeah, the guy left the airport and for that he is going to have to accept being investigated by such a group of keystone cops and then possibly be fined and imprisoned? Right. Listen to the audio and try to make the TSA guys statements actually make sense. First they escort him out of an area and then others threaten him for leaving for leaving that area. The guy just wants to cancel his trip and leave the airport and then they tell him he has to go back and go through the procedure he had just refused which caused him to decide not to fly. 

On the day of the incident a TSA supervisor can be heard saying that some workers weren't up on the latest procedures and then in the above article a TSA official smugly (in an attempt to put too fine a point on the amount of trouble the victim Tyner is in) pointed out that the airport TSA officials don't even know the current fine amount.

“That’s the old fine,” Aguilar said. “It has been increased.”

If these people can't even keep up with the current fines for refusing to accept an invasion of privacy, bad behavior, stupid procedures, long lines and a process that seems to produce little or no increased security how can they keep up with security matters that are important?

"By buying your ticket you gave up a lot of rights," countered the TSA supervisor. Really? They're going to protect our rights by taking them away.

When one doubles down on this kind of foolishness they just create the aura of condensing dumb and dumber into a single Sybil symbol of stupidity. How is it that the public gets this, the very ones the TSA magnanimously states they are trying to protect, but the TSA and government don't? Welcome to big government.

The American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees is now the biggest outside spender of the 2010 elections, thanks to an 11th-hour effort to boost Democrats that has vaulted the public-sector union ahead of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, the AFL-CIO and a flock of new Republican groups in campaign spending.
 
The 1.6 million-member AFSCME is spending a total of $87.5 million on the elections after tapping into a $16 million emergency account to help fortify the Democrats' hold on Congress. Last week, AFSCME dug deeper, taking out a $2 million loan to fund its push. The group is spending money on television advertisements, phone calls, campaign mailings and other political efforts, helped by a Supreme Court decision that loosened restrictions on campaign spending.
 
"We're the big dog," said Larry Scanlon, the head of AFSCME's political operations. "But we don't like to brag."

Good Lord, they're taking out loans for politics using your tax dollars as collateral to defeat your wishes at the polls.

Obama Land Grab

Some form of government owns approximately 30% of the United States. The federal government owns approx 90% of Nevada, 70% of Alaska and so forth. We could balance the budget if the Fed sold off these lands. Sorry Teddy, but the government should not be in the business of owning land unless it is used for governance, roads or defense as examples.

Now Obama wants another 15 million, possibly more, acres.

In April, President Obama issued a memorandum outlining his “21st century strategy for America’s great outdoors.” It was addressed to the Interior Secretary, the Agriculture Secretary, the head of the Environmental Protection Agency and the chair of the Council on Environmental Quality. The memo calls on the officials to conduct “listening and learning sessions” with the public to “identify the places that mean the most to Americans, and leverage the support of the Federal Government” to “protect” outdoor spaces. Eighteen of 25 planned sessions have already been held. But there’s much more to the agenda than simply “reconnecting Americans to nature.”

The federal government, as the memo boasted, is the nation’s “largest land manager.” It already owns roughly one of every three acres in the United States. This is apparently not enough. At a “listening session” in New Hampshire last week, government bureaucrats trained their sights on millions of private forest land throughout the New England region. Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack crusaded for “the need for additional attention to the Land and Water Conservation Fund — and the need to promptly support full funding of that fund.”

Will There Be An Obesity Rating For The Fat Heads In DC?

In an effort to know and control every part of everyone's life the federal government now wants to include you body mass index in your electronic medical record that the federal government will protect and control. In light of what is inevitable maybe the feds will hire paroled convicts to scour the Internet to collect the oil balls of their data spill when the fed does what it does best, screw up.

The obesity-rating regulation states that every American's electronic health record must: “Calculate body mass index. Automatically calculate and display body mass index (BMI) based on a patient’s height and weight.”

The law also requires that these electronic health records be available--with appropriate security measures--on a national exchange.
 
I don't want an electronic health record with the federal government. I don't need a body mass index (BMI) being sent to a bunch of fat-assed bureaucrats who know less about protecting personal information then they do about health. I despise these little mommies in business attire smugly telling us what we need because they think we are unable to take care of ourselves. Anyone in government that thinks they are smarter than the people is too stupid to be in government. It appears we have an army of bureaucratic nitwits being led by smug morons.
