Dear President Obama

I wanted to write you and let you know I lost my job today. I am a coal man and even though global warming is a theory in deep trouble the bureaucrats you have working for you showed their love for our earth by heartlessly killing my job.

What will my wife do? How about my kids? What will they learn from this? How about my fellow workers, my neighbors, my friends who work at the stores we can no longer shop at? What will you tell the the drivers, the maintenance crew, the suppliers to our plant, the workers that supplied all these people with gas, equipment and supplies to their jobs so we could do ours? They will soon be out of work and their job loss will do the same to their support people as you have done to us and ours.

What will you replace our lost energy supply with? Do you have a clue? What will you do to help those those that will suffer through brownouts? What will business do to pay their employees with little or no power? What will the store owners where those workers shop tell their employees?

Will government pay all these people? Will government workers lose their jobs? Will the people that made the decisions to put me and others out of work lose their jobs? Maybe they are rich enough to not have to worry. Maybe you have special plans to get power to your government workers so they can continue to improve our economy and our lives.

I don't know anymore. It used to be you worked hard, provided for your family and obeyed the law. If you did these things you were a good person. Well, I can't do these things now.

Have you made me a bad person? Have you a job for me? I don't think so, but I wanted to write and say these things because I really don't have anything else to do right now since coal is now bad. How did it become bad?

Get Ready For Obama's Skyrocketing Cost Increases

As promised by Obama electricity rates will skyrocket. They will skyrocket because of the green movement, the EPA's ludicrous regulations and also because of the overall goal of the Obama administration which is to remake the US economy into a system they want. That citizens of the US didn't vote for this man made disaster, but it is what they are going to get.



Last week PJM Interconnection, the company that operates the electric grid for 13 states (Delaware, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Maryland, Michigan, New Jersey, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Virginia, West Virginia and the District of Columbia) held its 2015 capacity auction. These are the first real, market prices that take Obama’s most recent anti-coal regulations into account, and they prove that he is keeping his 2008 campaign promise to make electricity prices “necessarily skyrocket.”


As far as Obama is concerned it is a feature not a bug that more people will be dependent on the government as costs skyrocket and tens of thousands workers become unemployed because of him.

How ironic that Obama lectured candidate Romney about being president of all the people. How sad.

Three Coal Power Plants Closing

With the closing of these plants as well as the others in the region, according to reports, not only will the power be scarcer there, but also in the Northern Virginia area and region, especially at peak periods. Energy experts say 33 GWs of electicity will be lost. If the average home uses 0.00001104 Giga Watts per year a loss of 33 Giga Watts will affect 2, 989,130 of the 109,000,000 of year round occupied homes which is approximately 27% of the occupied homes in the United States of America. That is a lot of power to make up.

It is estimated that 1200 + plants will be closed in the next few years raising consumer costs by about 14% as well as increasing unemployment and the loss of taxes to local communities. A lose, lose, lose. On the other hand government experts and their allies say that the cost savings in health will offset the plant closings.

Yep, this has been well thought out, eh?

Obama's EPA Will Kill What Obama Can't

The EPA is quickly becoming the fourth branch of government as an Obama addition to the executive, judicial and legislative branches. That the EPA is not answerable to just about anyone is seen as a feature, not a bug, to big government types that also want to inject themselves into every facet of our lives they can think of. Oh, and they also don't care that unemployment will go up as well as the cost of everything because the benefits will be for the country and to stave off alien intervention.

Killing the American Dream is hard work and Obama is finding he can’t do it all by himself, but with the help of the EPA he can kill ever so much more and nobody will be held responsible. It’s a win-win for the Obama, especially if he is only a one term president.

Those Environmentalist Kill Another Town Again

I say "those" because there is a majority of people that love their environment and then there are those that hate other people's environment. "Those" environmentalists destroy in the name of good and smugly go back to their huge offices to gather their electronic "needs", drive their cars home and sip wine before eating an expensive environmentally "safe" dinner.

Not so in the Sharples area of West Virginia.

“the Obama administration and EPA Administrator Lisa Jackson are addressing the importance of environmental justice in Appalachia and taking steps to begin protecting these communities,” according to a press release issued by Earthjustice.

Justice? Right. Justice would be if these credentialed know-nothings were made to live, actually live, and work in the areas they smugly control through government decree rulings from their puppets in unnecessary departments of government such as the EPA.

President Obama is now being ruled by the monster he empowered and enlarged, called the bureaucracy, as they slap not just him, but also citizens, in the face by making him a liar. In the not too distant past the president had this to say:

“Five miles into a mountain. The only light, the lamp on their caps. Day after day they would burrow into the coal. The fruits of their labor that so often we take for granted. The electricity that lights up a convention center; that lights up our church or our home our school our office. The energy that powers our country. The energy that powers the world."

Not now. The energy that powers the world is being crushed by mere bureaucrats and naive and ignorant extremists groups like Earth Justice. A statement of purpose from Earth Justice on the ruling:

Although we are grateful for the EPA’s action today, EPA must follow through by vetoing the scores of other Corps permits that violate the Clean Water Act and that would allow mountaintop mines to lay waste to our mountains and streams.”

So, by government fiat Earth Justice wants to crush projects all over Appalachia. Just as these groups have done in the Western parts of North America they now want to include Appalachia in a system of protected areas that already include over 1/3 of the entire land mass of the United States of America. That is 1/3 of our land that not only forbids our energy future, but also is under the complete control of government. That control means that for a fee a citizen might enjoy the land for a few minutes, but they cannot produce, nor can they live, on that land. That is not only theft by government on individuals, but also theft that robs all of our citizens as the land stays fallow.

These anti-societal groups envision a land mass called the Appalachian National Park that citizens can gaze at, but not touch. The citizens will do so from cold homes which offer no comfort for the unemployed and those devastated by a ruined economy, but what will Earth Justice care? They will still have jobs in cramped expensive urban cores where they live because we will still pay through our taxes their salaries so they can mete out more "justice."

That will bring comfort to the people of Sharples.

Obama Kills More Jobs In WV, Manchin Munchin' On Defeat

As the science on climate change climate disaster climate weirdness global warming comes under more scrutiny, ergo exposing its lies, Obama and clan double down on restrictions, laws, rules and regulations to kill more jobs to "allow" companies to more better fall in line with the administration's "you're with us or you're dead" PC agenda. The Green Agenda. The anti-Appalachia Agenda. The anti-American Agenda. The anti-Jobs and Working Man Agenda.

It's easy to be president if you're a professor. Facts and reality never get in the way of, well, reality and facts.

Did Obama toss Manchin under the bus?

Republican Spike Maynard received a big boost in his campaign to unseat 17-term Democratic Congressman Nick Joe Rahall on Friday as President Obama — through his EPA Administrator — pulled the plug on a major mine by vetoing its mine permit.

Come to think of it, Obama’s old buddy, Democratic Governor Joe Manchin got the flaming bag of dog doo on his porch, too.

As the sign says: “Obama says, Vote Democrat.”

Of course, Manchin will say this is why he is West Virginia's best hope in DC. His being a guard dog for West Virginia. Because he is a Democrat. Because he grew up in coal country and now lives in the lap of luxury. How embarrassing for West Virginia.

Besides, what can a guard dog tea cup poodle do to a tea cup intellectual? The real question should be, what can a group of pissed off real Mountaineers do to a group of wussified greenies?

Me? I'll bet on the Mountaineers. Manchin, you deserve to lose, especially after your fake faux gun shots at the Energy Bill. Probably had fois gras with the gun powder. Nothing worse than a nouveau riche that fails at being nouveau riche.

Enviro Mentals Want To Kill Another 174,000 Coal Jobs

They not only want to reach in the pockets of coal workers and steal their pay they also want to steal money from all the other people that use energy to go to work, work, live and purchase any product in America.

Cap and Trade alone will cost the average household in America about $1,800 and this will cost far more:

Peak coal could happen by 2011... if we don't start any more mines!

The paper just released by Tadeusz Patzek at The University of Texas at Austin and Gregory Croft at the University of California, Berkeley is limited to looking at production from existing coal fields and mines, which is expected to start declining after 2011. Of course, this is only a problem if no new coal production is started, something that is not expected for many decades to come.

Total coal-related jobs

There are approximately 174,000 blue-collar, full-time, permanent jobs related to coal in the U.S.: mining (83,000), transportation (31,000), and power plant employment (60,000). (See below for details on each sector.) The U.S. civilian labor force totaled 141,730,000 workers in 2005; thus, permanent blue-collar coal industry employees represent 0.12% of the U.S. workforce.[1] (Compare this percentage with the 1.89% of U.S. workers who worked in coal mining alone in 1920.)

This total does not include indirect employment - workers who are not directly employed in the coal industry, but whose jobs are supported by that industry. It is entirely possible that thousands - even tens of thousands - of workers are indirectly supported entirely by the coal industry. However, the National Coal Association's 1994 estimate that the coal industry directly and indirectly employs around 1.5 million people[2] seems exaggerated. The level of indirect employment is in the low hundreds of thousands - not in the millions.
