Government has grown by ridiculous proportions since Team Obama took over, but government has grown massively for 20 plus years including when Republicans had control.

If the personage in Congress and the White House don't understand the concept of limited government they might pick up a copy of the United States Constitution and since they are not busy reading the legislation they are passing maybe the could bone up on what our founders had to say about the correct role of government.

It really does seem that Congress is purposely trying to hurt us and kill our country. I'm pretty sure that was not the intended purpose of Congress by our founders.

Stop the bans. Lift the restrictions. On oil, on gas, on coal and on nuclear power. The United States could be the energy powerhouse of the world creating jobs, a better economy and better lives, but no, Congress can't have that.

Why isn't Congress supporting us and the US? Shouldn't they?

Obama Land Grab

Some form of government owns approximately 30% of the United States. The federal government owns approx 90% of Nevada, 70% of Alaska and so forth. We could balance the budget if the Fed sold off these lands. Sorry Teddy, but the government should not be in the business of owning land unless it is used for governance, roads or defense as examples.

Now Obama wants another 15 million, possibly more, acres.

In April, President Obama issued a memorandum outlining his “21st century strategy for America’s great outdoors.” It was addressed to the Interior Secretary, the Agriculture Secretary, the head of the Environmental Protection Agency and the chair of the Council on Environmental Quality. The memo calls on the officials to conduct “listening and learning sessions” with the public to “identify the places that mean the most to Americans, and leverage the support of the Federal Government” to “protect” outdoor spaces. Eighteen of 25 planned sessions have already been held. But there’s much more to the agenda than simply “reconnecting Americans to nature.”

The federal government, as the memo boasted, is the nation’s “largest land manager.” It already owns roughly one of every three acres in the United States. This is apparently not enough. At a “listening session” in New Hampshire last week, government bureaucrats trained their sights on millions of private forest land throughout the New England region. Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack crusaded for “the need for additional attention to the Land and Water Conservation Fund — and the need to promptly support full funding of that fund.”

Time to clean house. We do not need Socialists serving in our government. They violate our form of government by their thinking alone, but it is their actions that are most damning.

Candidate Warning: Repeal

Whether it's Cap and Trade, Stimulus or Health Care Reform, you better campaign on repeal and then aggressively follow through. No deals, no excuses and no pansy explanations will be accepted.

Prop C passes overwhelmingly

From almost the moment the Democratic-controlled Congress passed the health care law — which aims to increase the number of Americans with health insurance — Republicans have vowed to try to repeal it. Their primary argument is that they believe the federal government should not be involved in mandating health care decisions at the local level.

While repeal might seem an unlikely strategy, the effort to send a message state by state that voters don't approve of being told they have to buy insurance could gain momentum.

Repeal starts with the big ticket items, but it is only a beginning. For years Congress has inserted items that grow the government's powers and spending and that practice has skyrocketed in the last few years. If you want to be in Congress you better be prepared to repeal big and little. The devil is in the details and the devil called voter will be after you if you ignore the details and the them.

6 Month Review: Dems Are Focused On ?

Nana, Harry and Barack stated that they would focus like laser beams on "Jobs, jobs, jobs" in 2010. After 6 months of this intense focus unemployment hovers above or below 10% if one decides to count temporary census workers as full time workers, especially those census workers that have been counted as new hires 4 or 5 times.

What have Nana, Harry and Barack been doing?

Taking over private business and industry while merely over regulating others
Creating legislation that voters don't want
Ignoring voters opposed to legislation they don't want
Investigating foes as racists
Tearing Wall Street down
Trying to hold anxious allies like unions back from forcing such issues as their destruction of the private ballot
Insulting our allies across the globe
Trying to censure the Internet
Growing the deficit by trillions
Doing for medical care what they have done for welfare
Investigating any and all companies or corporation to enable more control and shutdowns by the federal government
Opposed enforcing immigration laws
Bungling the effort to control the oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico

The above is a partial list of their vaunted accomplishments, but where are the jobs? Where are the jobs bills? Have we missed the debate amongst themselves and their discussions with constituents?

It appears their job is doing everything other than helping their constituents with jobs. That's a shame, because I thought creating or getting out of the way so private enterprise could create jobs was their job.

How Embarrassed Should Mexican President Calderon Be?

Mexicans are risking their lives, spending what little money they have and are desperate to get out of Mexico. That's the good ones. Then there are the crooks, the drug dealers and gangs that Calderon allows to operate, in fact many in his government financially benefit from their activity, who bring their death and destruction into our country. He's lecturing us?

His country is broken and is trying to break ours and he is invited to stand before Congress and lecture us? By whom? Why? At what point did members of Congress not understand the Kafkaesque moment in which they were sitting?

If you are in this country illegally and it appears a large percentage of Calderon's population is, then you are doing something illegal, but Calderon implies that is fine. What is not fine to Calderon and apparently to a large number of our Congress is that Arizona wants to enforce the law.

How embarrassed is Calderon that he has failed his country so miserably? Better question might be, how embarrassed are the members of Congress who listened to this tripe and didn't yell, "You lie!"

Socializing Student Loans Or The Dishonesty Of Congress

Health Care Reform was about health care reform, right? Suspend logic for the sake of the argument and believe for a moment that health care reform was actually about health care reform. Okay?

The larger part of health care reform was actually about socialized education through the government takeover of student loans from private institutions and loan agencies. Most of America does not know this and I believe a large part of Congress had no idea about the scope of this power grab by Obama Pelosi.

Enter common sense, but watch it exit stage left because Congress wants to be able to lie, double speak and dpe the voter. It is who they are. Republicans and Democrats and the growing number of socialists in Congress will fight common sense. They'll fight with stealth, meaness and violence if that common sense would involve honesty.

Lawmakers working to craft a new comprehensive immigration bill have settled on a way to prevent employers from hiring illegal immigrants: a national biometric identification card all American workers would eventually be required to obtain.

It’s the natural evolution of the policy called “internal enforcement” of immigration law, as I wrote in my paper, “Franz Kafka’s Solution to Illegal Immigration.”

Once in place, watch for this national ID to regulate access to financial services, housing, medical care and prescriptions—and, of course, serve as an internal passport.

First, what are the progressives getting? What are those in Washington gaining by passing this health care bill by any means necessary? Bribery, coercion, lies and deception have all been employed — so what is it that this health care bill is really all about?

At least we got a second Louisiana purchase and a bit of honesty:

Lets Get Ready To Rumble Reid Ready To Bribe For Health Care Reform

Harry Reid is doing what he does best, cutting deals in dark alleys, far from the view of the public, to thwart the will of the people for political gain.

Reid Leads Democrats In Carving Out Favors for States on Health
Nevada would get help with its Medicaid bills. The elderly in Florida and New York would receive additional Medicare benefits. And workers in so-called high-risk professions such as firefighting and construction would get a break on a new insurance tax.

Those are provisions that Senate Democrats, including Majority Leader Harry Reid, put in an $829 billion health-care bill to shield constituents from measures intended to pay for the biggest overhaul of the medical system in four decades.

The Mr. Rogers of politics is in trouble at home, but can he be stopped before he destroys again?

Secondhand sellers now must keep abreast of recalls for thousands of products, some of them stretching back more than a decade, to stay within the bounds of the law.

Zach Space Knows He's In Trouble

He knows he's in trouble when he has to ring up newspapers and say:

"I think some people are trying to create this impression that I have been running away from having town-hall meetings, and that's just not true," Space said. "I've been holding telephone town halls, where I can talk to, like, 1,500 people. I can't reach everybody; I have a 16-county district. But I have been able to reach 5,000 to 10,000 people with the telephone town halls on various subjects, people who call in with questions or who listen in."

He said in past years he was discouraged when only a few people would show up to announced town-hall meetings, so telephone town halls have been a more effective way of connecting with his constituents.

If you're not up to the job, don't run for office again. Which is a splendid idea.

Cash For Clunkers A Failure

As planned, the only beneficiary are the unions which paid Obama for a seat at the board table. Oh, and Japanese car makers.

Car Dealers Reviews reported, via Free Republic:
The National Automobile Dealers Association is urging the federal government to begin shutting down the Cash for Clunkers program immediately.

In a statement released Wednesday evening, NADA said that, given the rapid pace at which deals are being done, it will be difficult to say when the program’s funds may run out.

But Transportation Secretary Ray LaHood said earlier Wednesday that all dealers would be reimbursed.

However, the NADA said, in its statement, that the group had “confirmed elsewhere” that dealers would not get paid if cash ran out.

Although, according to press reports, Secretary LaHood stated today that “there will be no car dealer that won’t be reimbursed,” NADA believes that this is based on DOT’s view that sufficient funds remain available. It is important to note that NHTSA has confirmed elsewhere that if the program’s money runs out before a dealer is reimbursed, that dealer will not be paid.

In a survey nearly 800 dealers,
97% of dealers who responded, say the government is not reimbursing fast enough
13% of dealers have dropped out the program because the government is not reimbursing fast enough and overall concern payment problems
87% percent of dealers are concerned the money will be exhausted
3% of CARS program deals have been reimbursed 66% of dealers have not received one payment from the government
25% of dealers are experiencing servere cash flow problems that require short-term loans to fix 11% of submitted applications have been approved (though dealers still are waiting for the money)
16% of submitted applications have been rejected
55% of dealers are not confident they will get reimbursed for every deal
40% do not want the program to continue, even if changes are made to the CARS program

If the respondents to this poll are found out we should see another round of dealerships being closed. That is the Chicago style.
