World Cup Exclusive: 5% Of America Watch

World Cup Loss to Ghana Is Most Watched U.S. Men's Soccer Match in History

This contest numbered almost as many people that watched the women's softball championship.World Cup viewership almost will reach the numbers of those that watch NASCAR to view just how well pit crews perform.

Possibly the World Cup will, in the next few years, in America surpass the number of women who view their daughters performing ballet to Elmer Fudd humming Dvořák' humming Brahms, with a hangover from canopies and whiskey featuring miniature hot dogs.

I am out on a limb here, but I think Americans will watch the World Cup in greater numbers than those that breathlessly wait for a James Wolcott article on shrimp dogs and fat ugly cats.

Are there that many people that actually read Wolcott? No.

Drudge, rock on, but who actually cares about fotball? 0-0 is so exciting. Tying is so like kissing your sister. Nuance be damned.

Obama Akaka Trying To Create A Hawaiian Super State Within A State Is Wrong And UnAmerican

When will this madness stop? A separate super state that is not answerable to a central or state government. Maybe we should create a special super state for blacks? For gays? How about one third of the country to Latino/Mexican/Hispanics? Well, we created reservations for Indians and look how well that worked out.

Aloha, Segregation
The Akaka bill would create a race-based state in Hawaii.
President Obama speaks proudly of his childhood in Hawaii, so we wonder what the state's voters think of his support for a bill that would redistribute its wealth based on race. That's what would happen under the Native Hawaiian Government Reorganization Act, which Congress is trying to sneak through in its final days this year.

Sponsored by Senator Daniel Akaka, the bill would transfer a percentage of public-owned lands to a native Hawaiian government within the state of Hawaii. The legislation would collect some 400,000 ethnic Hawaiians scattered across the country into a newly affiliated tribe, eventually endowed with the powers of a sovereign state, including freedom from state taxes and regulations and separate police power.

Proponents say the plan would duplicate the legal scenario set up for Native Americans, but the Akaka bill carves out new territory.

Besides, this is just a first step toward Hawaii breaking completely from the United States to become a separate nation and Senator Akaka and President Obama know this.

Race based politics has always been stupid, but this is dangerous. The melting pot that is America is our strength, but there have been rules for the melting pot achieving the American dream such as assimilation, hard work, learn our language and loyalty to the country. Just as with the Indian, this bill will foster no assimilation, no loyalty, no melting pot and never ending taxpayer hand outs which kill initiative. It will also weaken our country because the bill would achieve the opposite. It will create disloyalty.

There has been, I believe, an ongoing effort to split the United States of America. There has been, obviously, the "Indian Nation" which has been and will continue to be a failed effort on the part of the federal government to maintain reservations for the preservation of Indian culture instead of assimilation. Reservations set a precedent, which created lands within the United States as not part of the United States, and there are those attempting to link to that precedent such as Aztlan, Raza, and MEChA. No, not to set up reservations for Mexicanos, but to use the reservation precedent as a legal basis of the admitted wrongdoing by the United States to break lands away from the United States.

A six year board member of La Raza, a Mexican group that is actively pursuing the re-conquest of Southwestern United States, is a Justice of the Supreme Court of the United States of America, Sonia Sotomayor. La Raza is nothing more than a hate group that was counseled by Yasser Arafat and Sotomayor helped direct and support that hate against the sovereignty of the United States. During her confirmation hearings Sotomayor answered no questions about her involvement because none were asked. It was considered impolite to question a wise Latino woman.

Miguel Perez, a La Raza spokesman at Cal State-Northridge, has been quoted as saying: “The ultimate ideology is the liberation of Aztlan. Communism would be closest [to it]. Once Aztlan is established, ethnic cleansing would commence: Non-Chicanos would have to be expelled — opposition groups would be quashed because you have to keep power.”

There is a movement within the United States made up of people and groups that have little or no loyalty to their country which includes blacks, whites, Indians, Mexicans, Hawaiians, arabs and others that would welcome the breaking up of the country. They have different agendas, but the same goal. They also have no fear of their actions because Americans have been bludgeoned into not asking for fear of charges of racism. Now these people and groups appear to have government on their side in reaching their goal.

Then there are others that will go along because, even though they are not actively working toward that goal, they believe it will profit them. Other groups that could ally with them are those who don't care, are afraid or just plain believe the propaganda against America even though they are not part of any group. Rev Wright's chickens are coming home to roost throughout the land because no one has stood up and called BS on him and his followers such as Obama.

Each group has an agenda and the stronger groups will exploit those other groups to their ends through ever changing alliances that will strengthen their numbers and their resolve toward the goal of stripping away large areas of the United States to form new counties constantly weakening us which is what they want and so do our international enemies, especially those once super powers. That will allow our wealth to become easier pickings and, more important, dim the beacon of hope for a world weary of despots, dictators and tyrants.

Hawaii is significant today as it was December 7, 1941 as it will be the modern indicator of a new war on the sovereignty of the United States of America and a U. S. Senator is leading the attack with the full support of an American president, both of which seem to have an agenda other than to protect and serve the nation.

This bill must be stopped.

Obama's Safe Schools Czar Kevin Jennings Promotes Underage Sex For K - 12

No matter how one personally feels about sexuality this is another outrageous example of the misfits and sick bullies that Obama and his handlers have populated his administration with.

They are not representative of America, in fact they are what America has deplored.

First grade sex in school lavatories, student teacher sex, having sex with older people and masturbation are part of the reading list's books that Kevin Jennings, Obama's Safe School Czar, and his group, The Gay, Lesbian and Straight Education Network (GLSEN) are pressing on students, teachers and school administrators nationwide.

WARNING: The material cited in the story below is very explicit, but you should read it to see for yourself the illegal sexual activity Obama's administration is recommending being taught to your children, grandchildren, in fact all children. Indeed, they, as in their other political activities, say that this is for the children, their safety and multiculturalism be it skin, nationality or sex.

Breaking: Obama's "Safe School Czar" Is Promoting Porn In Classroom - Kevin Jennings And the GLSEN Reading List

Which majority elected a president to teach that it is appropriate for children to hide in bathrooms, vehicles and secluded spots to have sex? Though religion and pride in America is wrong and unethical, sex is not only right and ethical, it is necessary in their eyes.

Each day the ineptness of this administration is seen, but so is their agenda that the electorate, who elected them, had no idea they were voting for. Could it be that Obama is on the one hand using Cap and Trade, for example, to distract from what he is doing with the other hand, which is undermining our culture, society and political systems from the bottom up?

Jennings shouldn't be anywhere near school administration, he should be in prison.

Racists & Cowards Always Charge Racism & Cowardice

In a month dedicated to being black, Eric Holder charged that we, as a nation, are cowards because we do not talk enough about our racial differences.

Holder: US is nation of cowards on racial matters
In a speech to Justice Department employees marking Black History Month, Holder said the workplace is largely integrated but Americans still self-segregate on the weekends and in their private lives.

"Though this nation has proudly thought of itself as an ethnic melting pot, in things racial we have always been and continue to be, in too many ways, essentially a nation of cowards," said Holder, nation's first black attorney general.

I grew tired of the talking years ago. First the talk was about how we are all the same and now the talk is about how we are all different. Of course all through this talkfest it has been about money and power.

Those doing the talking, actually self righteous lecturing, have made a lot of money and have gained a lot of power and those talking include both white and black as well as red, brown, yellow and every other group. Too much talk and not enough action.

When I was in high school I first heard the talk. I heard about integration. I heard about equal rights. A professor at the local private university held a public lecture pointing out the rotten soul of America because of racism. He didn't find it ironic as he described the separation of races in society, in education and work that the audience in the school chapel was a mixed race audience and that different races sat comfortably together because they worked together, went to school together and played sports and entertained together. That is because he felt he was talking the word to the heathen and it never occurred to him that the heathens ignored the talk and just walked the walk.

It was then that I realized that there are those that talk and then there are those who do.

Eric Holder has to keep yammering to keep the public's eye in another direction because if they looked directly at him and listened to what is really important, his actions, they'd know that Holder is a coward using racism to hide his past and to further his agenda.

As in all things American, the people do things in a far better fashion than the government. It is a far better world where people are people and an equal people. It is a far worse world in which revenge and racism has been codified and made the acceptable norm among those that feel the need to feed of the soul of our nation.

I wish they'd shut their damned mouth and leave all of us to live our lives together.

An Evangelist, A Gay Bishop & A Black's Inauguration

A reason why I left the Episcopal Church. Now the hypocrisy of the church will be on full view for the world to see.
Wishing to be on both sides of an issue usually means one is on neither, but then we are speaking of a politician who has made an art of speaking out of both sides of his mouth when he is forced to speak more than platitudes.
President-elect Barack Obama, facing criticism from gay rights advocates for picking an evangelical pastor who helped overturn same-sex marriage in California to deliver the invocation at his inauguration, has chosen the openly gay Episcopal bishop of New Hampshire to offer a prayer at a pre-inauguration event on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial.
Obama's choice, announced yesterday, of Bishop V. Gene Robinson to deliver the invocation at a star-studded inaugural celebration Sunday evening was immediately greeted with praise by gay rights advocates, who had been irate over the invitation to Rick Warren, one of the nation's most prominent evangelicals. Among the critics had been Robinson, an early Obama supporter who said yesterday he is now hoping that he will be able to sit down with Warren before either of them gives his opening invocation next week.
With all of his flip flops, before he has even taken the oath, I hope the "O" has a quality back brace. He'll need one. We'll need one too.

58 Illegal Aliens Arrested In Ohio

But they're not criminals just because they broke the law. They are "undocumented" workers who just happened to break the law every step of the way beginning with sneaking across the border.

Feds arrest 58 undocumented workers in raids on 8 eateries
The raids at eight Casa Fiesta restaurants is part of larger workplace enforcement strategy that infuriates immigrant advocates, who say it brings down the hammer on hapless workers.
"These people are not criminals," said David Leopold, a Cleveland immigration lawyer. "The worst thing you can say about them is they came here to feed their families."

Leopold is to testify before a congressional subcommittee in Washington today on the need for comprehensive immigration reform. In lieu of that reform, he said, the government is using police actions to support a broken immigration system.

Immigration authorities say they are enforcing the law as best they can, in part, by targeting businesses that purposely hire undocumented workers.

"This was just a step," said Brian M. Moskowitz, the special agent in charge of Immigration and Customs Enforcement's Office of Investigations in Detroit. "This is part of a criminal investigation of a company that is violating U.S. law."

I am very pro-business and, yes, I have heard from employers here in Ohio, spoken to small town business owners and farmers in Nebraska, Iowa and other places, but if they are purposely hiring illegal aliens, they are in the wrong. Hire all the lawyers possible, but they won't change that fact.

Angry White Man And The 2008 Election

I am kind of shocked this came out of the Aspen Times Weekly, but the writer nails it. McCain and the RNC are missing it.

In election 2008, don't forget Angry White Man
There is a great amount of interest in this year's presidential elections, as everybody seems to recognize that our next president has to be a lot better than George Bush. The Democrats are riding high with two groundbreaking candidates - a woman and an African-American - while the conservative Republicans are in a quandary about their party's nod to a quasi-liberal maverick, John McCain.

Each candidate is carefully pandering to a smorgasbord of special-interest groups, ranging from gay, lesbian and transgender people to children of illegal immigrants to working mothers to evangelical Christians.

There is one group no one has recognized, and it is the group that will decide the election: the Angry White Man. The Angry White Man comes from all economic backgrounds, from dirt-poor to filthy rich. He represents all geographic areas in America, from urban sophisticate to rural redneck, deep South to mountain West, left Coast to Eastern Seaboard.

His common traits are that he isn't looking for anything from anyone - just the promise to be able to make his own way on a level playing field. In many cases, he is an independent businessman and employs several people. He pays more than his share of taxes and works hard.

The victimhood syndrome buzzwords - "disenfranchised," "marginalized" and "voiceless" - don't resonate with him. "Press 'one' for English" is a curse-word to him. He's used to picking up the tab, whether it's the company Christmas party, three sets of braces, three college educations or a beautiful wedding.

He believes the Constitution is to be interpreted literally, not as a "living document" open to the whims and vagaries of a panel of judges who have never worked an honest day in their lives.

The Angry White Man owns firearms, and he's willing to pick up a gun to defend his home and his country. He is willing to lay down his life to defend the freedom and safety of others, and the thought of killing someone who needs killing really doesn't bother him.

The Angry White Man is not a metrosexual, a homosexual or a victim. Nobody like him drowned in Hurricane Katrina - he got his people together and got the hell out, then went back in to rescue those too helpless and stupid to help themselves, often as a police officer, a National Guard soldier or a volunteer firefighter.

His last name and religion don't matter. His background might be Italian, English, Polish, German, Slavic, Irish, or Russian, and he might have Cherokee, Mexican, or Puerto Rican mixed in, but he considers himself a white American.

He's a man's man, the kind of guy who likes to play poker, watch football, hunt white-tailed deer, call turkeys, play golf, spend a few bucks at a strip club once in a blue moon, change his own oil and build things. He coaches baseball, soccer and football teams and doesn't ask for a penny. He's the kind of guy who can put an addition on his house with a couple of friends, drill an oil well, weld a new bumper for his truck, design a factory and publish books. He can fill a train with 100,000 tons of coal and get it to the power plant on time so that you keep the lights on and never know what it took to flip that light switch.

Women either love him or hate him, but they know he's a man, not a dishrag. If they're looking for someone to walk all over, they've got the wrong guy. He stands up straight, opens doors for women and says "Yes, sir" and "No, ma'am."

He might be a Republican and he might be a Democrat; he might be a Libertarian or a Green. He knows that his wife is more emotional than rational, and he guides the family in a rational manner.

He's not a racist, but he is annoyed and disappointed when people of certain backgrounds exhibit behavior that typifies the worst stereotypes of their race. He's willing to give everybody a fair chance if they work hard, play by the rules and learn English.

Most important, the Angry White Man is pissed off. When his job site becomes flooded with illegal workers who don't pay taxes and his wages drop like a stone, he gets righteously angry. When his job gets shipped overseas, and he has to speak to some incomprehensible idiot in India for tech support, he simmers. When Al Sharpton comes on TV, leading some rally for reparations for slavery or some such nonsense, he bites his tongue and he remembers. When a child gets charged with carrying a concealed weapon for mistakenly bringing a penknife to school, he takes note of who the local idiots are in education and law enforcement.

He also votes, and the Angry White Man loathes Hillary Clinton. Her voice reminds him of a shovel scraping a rock. He recoils at the mere sight of her on television. Her very image disgusts him, and he cannot fathom why anyone would want her as their leader. It's not that she is a woman. It's that she is who she is. It's the liberal victim groups she panders to, the "poor me" attitude that she represents, her inability to give a straight answer to an honest question, his tax dollars that she wants to give to people who refuse to do anything for themselves.

There are many millions of Angry White Men. Four million Angry White Men are members of the National Rifle Association, and all of them will vote against Hillary Clinton, just as the great majority of them voted for George Bush.

He hopes that she will be the Democratic nominee for president in 2008, and he will make sure that she gets beaten like a drum.

Barack Obama isn't going to excite this crowd either, but the politician that does is going to win big because there are a ton of people like this. I am one.

Paris Ain't Smokin Hot Anymore

The ban on smoking in cafés in France seems to signal a cultural
shift toward a more wholesome, modern and adaptable image.
(Richard Harbus for the International Herald Tribune)

Will the smoking ban in France mean the end of café society?

Having enjoyed their cafes for years and observing the unique culture of the cafes I would say, yes. Others will say, 'so what', and be happy that another menace to society has been stopped.

I do not look forward to the "perfect" world we are building toward. Nobody offended, nobody endangered and everyone healthy. The truly intriguing cities such as Prague, Shanghai, Paris, New Orleans, Rio and Hamburg, to name a very few, will cease to exist as they become just another cookie cutter rebranded product of our "new and better" society.

The old sad, sick, selfish cultures that brought us smoking also brought us great art, jazz, the Blues, rock and roll, poetry and great authors and playwrights will change as well. Will the next Edgar Allen Poe or Willie Dixon come from a starbuck environment? I doubt it. This new culture would turn a black chanteuse such as Ella Fitzgerald white and have her sing like a Joni Mitchell.

How incredibly sad and boring.

Happy Holidays? Not At Our House. Merry Christmas!

Being a genius, I have not yet figured out how to upload Adobe Flash products, but then Adobe products generally drive me to language my Mother used to punish me for.

This is a very cool vid. Short, sweet and to the point. Enjoy! For the 10% who might not, get a life.

AJC & Spelman College or MSM & Colleges Race To Turn Back The Clock

Race, gender come to forefront of presidential race

The dozen or so Spelman College women had come together in a basement classroom, after hours, to hash over a choice unimaginable just a few generations back.

Fliers posted across campus summed up the thrust of their conversation: "Should you vote for Barack Obama because of your race, or should you vote for Hillary Clinton because you are a woman?" . . .

Desiree Pedescleaux, associate professor of political science at Spelman, said the majority of black women in Atlanta will vote for Obama because of their strong identification with race.

She says some black women may support Clinton because of deep admiration or because they view her as the Democratic candidate most likely to succeed. But on an emotional level, Pedescleaux argues, race will trump gender.

"When an African-American woman walks into a room, what do most people see first?" she asked. "They see race. They see her as black before she is a woman."

In a magnificent show of "screw you" to Martin Luther King who said:
"I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character."

How many decades and assassinations, of hope and death, just got shot down the crapper? How many whites in general and how many white males specifically now get a "get out of jail" card and the right to say, "I told you the whole equality this was full of crap. It nothing more and always was nothing more than a free pass and for what, cause your skin or your skirt? Bull".

Looking at that front page, reading what they said and feeling the effects of "equality" in our society, I feel sick. Now, think how those that truly fought, not pontificated, but fought for equality, must feel.

You best believe you should be relieved that Ol' Nat Turner ain't here abouts.

Can't We ALL Just Get Along?

YES we can if we are all liberal, non-Christian and a minority if we all hate George W. Bush, corporations, the military and America as we've known it.

NO, we can't if you are conservative, white and a Christian. That would be impossible.
Christmas Tree controversy

Missouri State University took down a20-foot Christmas tree after a diversity official reported a complaint that it was insensitive to other religions.

As a result, Missouri State officials are meeting tomorrow to discuss appropriate holiday decorations.
How insensitive is it to offend such large numbers of people over a non-religious symbol because the minority might be offended by having religion forced upon them?

Enough is enough, but enough of what? The hyper-sensitivity that turns bureaucrats in quivering sissies or of the sad little complainers or the courts, both judicial and public opinion, that give their secular imprimatur?

All of the above.

UPDATE: Missouri State Reverses Decision About Removing Christmas Tree
A Christmas tree that had been removed from the atrium of Strong Hall at Missouri State University will return, along with other religious holiday symbols in that building, school president Michael T. Nietzel said in a news release Thursday morning.A meeting that had been scheduled Friday to discuss appropriate MSU holiday decorations has been canceled, he said.
...

"It's not a big issue," he said. "Some people raised the question about the tree and the best way to approach it was to take it down to discuss it."

Yeah, it's the best approach if you're a wimp. It definately is not the best approach if you're the poor schlub that has to put it up, take it down and now put it back up. Maybe have the whiners and complainers do the set up next time.

San Francisco's Nonsex Sexuality Psychobabble

San Francisco approves ID cards that exclude gender
? Why bother anymore? I mean, could one tell?

I do have one question because of a sentence tucked in the middle of the article.

Supervisor Tom Ammiano, who introduced the measure, says illegal immigrants
will benefit most. They will be able to open bank accounts and use the card for
city services such as checking out library books.
If this reads the way it's written and placed, the illegal immigrants might want to read up on their own possibly confused sexuality. In Spanish of course. Translation paid for by us. Of course.

"Spike, you look marvelous in that outfit, but your rouge is a mite intense."

"Thank you Marge. I just adore your goatee. It will make your new ID interesting."

Does Death Penalty Save Lives? A New Debate - Who Cares?

Does Death Penalty Save Lives? A New Debate

Why not go back to the original reason? Punishment. If one tears the fabric of society, culture and civility so that it endangers others, society has no further cause or reason to put up with you or support and care for you.

Saving lives through example is an added bonus.

Denison Univ. Finds Way To Stop 'Isms, Violence And Rape

Denison president wants dialogue to filter into life
Knobel says Denison needs to sustain awareness, continue diversifying
...
During Wednesday's forum, students asked the university to consider
tougher penalties for those who commit hate crimes and to revisit its decision
several years ago to cut women's, black and homosexual studies as required
courses.

...
He said he also holds students responsible for monitoring their own
behavior and that of their friends. "We have cross-cutting expectations," Knobel
said. "We need to remind ourselves of the responsibility we have. I would like
them to look one another in the eye and say those aren't the values we espouse
at Denison."

Required courses and "monitoring" others who fail the Denison code. Those that fail will face a jury of faculty, staff and students?

Another way of putting it would be to say - Submit or face a stacked jury.

GroupThink 101 will stop all 'Isms except Socialism and PCism.

UPDATE: Students have shaken up the old and false world and replaced it with a real world in which they now study, live and plan their and everyone else's future.

What have we learned?
We've shaken up the status quo on campus by picking up Denison and
turning it on its head.

Doane Administration Building can no longer sustain its safe haven
image it has exuded for so long, that quieted students by showing them
everything is okay.

We've extracted the administrators from behind their desks of Doane,
their ivory tower, and brought them down to eye-level at the flagpole. And we
told them what we want to see change.

For those of you students who still think that Denison is bubble - an
isolated, rural sanctuary of academia that will protect you from the omnipresent
evil in the "real world" - then we feel pity for you. For those of you who think
that Denison embraces a "Camp Denidoo" mentality and denies any real-life
experience by shoving you into a dorm, making you eat in a dining hall and never
having to see a consistent bill, we hope you are reading this: because if
there's one thing we can take away from this entire situation, even if you were
sitting in your room playing Halo for the past two weeks, it's that Denison is
the real world. There's no way around denying that you had any idea of what has
been going on for the last two weeks.

There are real, actual tangible human beings that have spoken out
against an institutionalized marginalization and now the healing process has
begun.

Let's see this process through and not let Thanksgiving break or the
winter breaks wear us down. Activism is a lifetime commitment, not a short-term
tactic to get what we want.

Expressing our emotions and the need for sympathy have been very
important first steps but we need to realize that true change happens when we
engage in the issues on more than the surface.

That may mean something different for us all. It might mean joining one
of the many student activist groups, researching the issues in a scholarly
manner or thinking about your privilege and how can you best help other
people.

Little Girl, Autumn Ashanti, Announces The Fall of America

As an added bonus for all of us mouth breathing freedom lovers, the highminded folk of A.N.S.W.E.R./Code Pink/MoveOn and others of the enlightened class, brought us such luminaries as Autumn Ashanti for our edification at their tiny protest in Washington DC against freedom in Iraq.

Autumn Ashanti - poet activist also gave some poetry/rap/crap for peace.
Her father is Ashante, a Nation of Islam poet/activist and I am so sure that he didn't write her material.

Presented here is one of "Autumn's" pieces. I couldn't understand her screaming so I do not know if she presented this in our nation's capitol last Saturday, but she wrote it when she was seven years old.

White Nationalism Put U In Bondage
White nationalism is what put you in bondage
Pirate and vampires like Columbus, Morgan, and Darwin
Drank the blood of the sheep, trampled all over them with
Steel, tricks and deceit.
Nothing has changed take a look in our streets
The mis-education of she
and Hegro — leaves you on your knee2grow
Black lands taken from your hands,
by vampires with no remorse
They took the gold, the wisdom and all of the storytellers
They took the black women, with the black man weak
Made to watch as they changed the paradigm Of our village
They killed the blind, they killed the lazy, they went
So far as to kill the unborn baby
Yeah White nationalism is what put you in bondage
Pirates and vampires like Columbus, Morgan, and Darwin
They drank the blood of the sheep, trampled all over them with
Steel laden feet, throw in the tricks alcohol and deceit.
Nothing has changed take a look at our streets.
My God, isn't she special, but not in a personal glorification manner for her father's greed for attention, but as a spokeschildwoman for us, the huddled masses.

Does this mean I am a steel laden Hegro pirate or vampire? I do like my steaks very rare, but does that mean I am a bad person? Aaarghhh, matey!

UPDATE: Darwin was a fish or an ape, not a pirate or a vampire. Well, at least not a pirate. Okay, maybe he was a vampire and pirate,

Malveaux, Are You Stupid Enough?

Have you asked yourself whether Hillary is "black enough"?

Could Hillary Clinton also be a 'black' leader?
CNN White House correspondent Suzanne Malveaux pinned back the former First
Lady to explain how she could "sustain black support " while running against an
African-American. Ironically, thanks to Sen. Barack Obama's mixed white and
Kenyan parentage and campaign mischief, it is he who usually gets to field the
"black enough" question.
So, are any of the Democrat candidates "black enough", since hoaxer Al Sharpton isn't in the race?
Clinton said the problem is not a "moral crisis but an economic crisis,"
rejecting the "broad-brush" notion that paints the young black male "as a
threat, as a headache or as a lost cause. I reject it as a string of
disappointments, failures and casualties of a broken system. That's not who they
are and that's not who they can be."
That broad-brush of actual crime statistics tells us that families aren't broken, just their bank accounts. Where the hell do the rest of us get in on this broad-brush?
"We have to keep talking about race," she said, "because race is a very
significant issue for our country, for who we are as a country, for our role in
the world."

Well, as long as Democrats want to have any relevancy they have to keep talking about it, otherwise hoaxer Jessie Jackson is just another wannabe third world leader, not a premier American racist.
"I am really thrilled to be running at a time in our history when, on a
stage, you can see an African-American man, a Hispanic man and a woman."

There's a woman up there? Point her out.
In a moment of levity with the black columnists, Clinton joked about
how, as a flat-toned midwesterner, she sometimes lapses into a drawl in the
South and tends to drop her "g's" more around black audiences. In a snide
reference to author Toni Morrison's comment that her husband was the "first
black president," she mused:

"I do find myself dropping g's. I lived all those years in Arkansas,
and, you know, I'm in this interracial marriage."

Yep, going to Wellesley and Yale will do that to a person. All those pesky g's in Othello made for heavy sloughing as one wrestles with reading about interracial marry, but at least she can count on Bill to stay the coarse.

Sigh, it's not like we don't have enough time to find out if Clinton and the others are American enough, color blind enough, sensible enough, etc., but we probably won't because reporters like Malveaux aren't gutsy enough to ask these questions. They're afraid of being ostracized or fired.

White Responsibility

Nearly half US murder victims are black: report
African-Americans are victims of nearly half the murders committed in the
United States despite making up only 13 percent of the population, a report
published Thursday showed.
And your point is?

More importantly, how dare leave us hanging with this!

Blacks were also at greater risk of rape or sexual assault than any other ethnic group except American Indians, the report showed.

Richs, Race and Relationships

The first two rules of holes

Similarly — as I noted in the post — there are a complexity of issues
involved in what are most frequently trotted out as racial disparities. You
bring up redlining without saying exactly with what about the practice you take
offense. Is it the fact that the subprime loans are granted in the first placde?
Or the fact that they are granted disproportionately to minorities?
The reason why Blacks (or Hispanics) find themselves with lower credit ratings
isn’t, I don’t think, intrinsic to race. We can trace the policies that got us
there, but they are many and varied.

I argued some of these particular instances several years ago with
Aaron Hawkins of Uppity Negro (who has since passed away), including
disproportionate traffic stops for Blacks in certain areas, etc.

...

But overall, it’s been my contention that policies that tend to focus
on fixing “racial disparity” — when the solution is tied solely to race (again,
I have written in favor of affirmative action based on opportunity) often times
do nothing but either exacerbate the disparity, or else have the effect of
creating a new group of victims or perceived victims, which in turn leads to a
stoking of racial animus.

Many years ago I did a study for a PAC that tracked certain racial groups and subsets within their racial group on the effect of government "help". In each case it was startling. One figure that has stuck in my mind was a comparison of black women and white women (aged 15-30, I think) that had children out-of-wedlock. Prior to the government "help" black women had a far lower rate of illegitimate birth than white women. After 20 years of government "help" those figures flipped completely. This study included years prior to the prevalence of abortion on demand.

My family is almost a mini-UN and I have found through experience with them and my extended family (and the history of my father's family) that accepting government largess is the first step toward failure, generally. In each case, within my family, it was an attitude that being on the "public dole" was to be shamed. Those who rose above that shame by getting off the "public dole" were believed to have not earned it.

Of those that refused the "dole", some stayed as working-poor, but proud. The majority became self sufficient and instilled that pride in their children and grand children. It is now our generation's job to carry on the pride. We like as little government as possible in our family's life.
I suggest you click on the above headline and read Jeff's full post and the comments. It will be well worth your time. If not, get the government to refund the cost of your time.

> July 16, 2007

> > > Last week, Congress bypassed the normal committee process and filed the controversial "Hate Crimes" bill as an amendment to the Defense Authorization bill (S. 1535). This amendment is expected to be considered, voted on, and passed within the next few days.

> > The intent of this legislation is to favor some victims of violent crimes over other victims of equally violent crime while ignoring the principle of equal justice under the law. Communicating your opposition will send the message that you value equal protection for all people rather than special protections for a select few groups.
