This unfinished panel in the Uffizi is nonetheless a masterpiece of the Florentine Renaissance. Observe the application of Albertian principles to draw the view in (the figures looking out at us or gesturing at us to look in), Leonardo’s own theories about creating dramatic contrasts between figural types (young and old, beautiful and harsh), and Renaissance rules of geometry, like the strong triangle created by the central figures. In its unfinished state this panel also teaches us about the mater’s technique of working on a dark panel and building up first the shadows, then the colour.

For Educators And Their Union 'Christmas Is A Dilemma'
"It's actually called the 'December dilemma' that many, many schools face." So said Superintendent Juli Di Chiro.
School district implements guidelines for holiday decor
Solution? Put all religious symbols on a pine tree. But what will pagans say if it is a cut tree? Should Satan be displayed on a 'Christmas' tree? Will they put a Menorah right next to Crescent of Islam (The faith of Islam has historically had no symbol, and many refuse to accept what is essentially an ancient pagan icon. It is certainly not in uniform use among Muslims.)?
Maybe there will be room for Mary, mother of Jesus. Right next to a quaint Whore of Babylon of course.
I remember when teachers were in a union with parents and children instead of being in unions against children and parents. And America and her traditions.

Thanksgiving: Time For Athiests And Libs To Kick Off Their Anti-Christ In Christmas Campaign

It is that jolly time of year when the wackjobs start bitching about how un-American it is to have Christmas displays displayed at Christmas, especially on government land. Government land that is owned by the people of the United States. It offends their nuanced sensibilities. Awwww.
Now, they want to use race as a reason to not put up anything religious for the vast majority of people who celebrate Christmas to enjoy.
How to p*ss off atheists
Chester County Commissioners Carol Aichele and Terence Farrell made the right decision by ending the annual dispute between a fringe group of atheists and the majority of county residents over what kind of holiday display should be placed at the Historic Chester County Courthouse.
The use of the race card against Farrell shows how desperate the atheists get when they lose the argument.
The majority must be stopped from terrorizing the minority be allowing the minority to terrorize the majority. All over a baby Jesus.

Christmas Eve Family Celebration
In just a few hours we will begin our annual family celebration of the birth of Christ. Fittingly, as my wife's family fished the Adriatic for generations, we will have seven courses and seven fish from the seven seas to ensure good fishing in all walks of life for the new year. This year will see 23 family members from all over to celebrate. What fun.

BTW, Merry Christmas Late!
I have been on a whirlwind family Christmas tour of Long Island, Manhattan, Connecticut and other places while being in contact with family in Maine, North Carolina, Virginia, New Hampshire, Arizona, California, West Virginia and Ohio.
I have been stuffed with love and food. Christmas Eve once again found us having seven fish from the seven seas for good luck and Christmas throughout seven courses with a mere 27 family members.
Tomorrow we are blessed to celebrate my father-in-law's 75 birthday. In planning we spent the evening tonight looking at 75 years of memories stretching from Vasto, Italy to the Bronx to Long Island spanning untold generations and memories.
I am a lucky man for so many reasons and I have not had the chance to thank so many of you for your good thoughts and good feelings. I have been remiss in this and I do apologize.
Merry Christmas to all of you because the season lives on in our hearts beyond these few days.
For that we are truly blessed.

Christmas Lights Mean Coal In Your Stocking

SCIENTISTS have warned that Christmas lights are bad for the planet due to huge electricity waste and urged people to get energy efficient festive bulbs.
CSIRO researchers said householders should know that each bulb turned on in the name of Christmas will increase emissions of greenhouse gases.
Dr Glenn Platt, who leads research on energy demand, said Australia got 80 per cent of its electricity by burning coal which pumps harmful emissions into the atmosphere.
He said: "Energy efficient bulbs, such as LEDs, and putting your Christmas lights on a timer are two very easy ways to minimise the amount of electricity you use to power your lights."
He said the nation's electricity came from "centralised carbon intensive, coal-based power stations" which were responsible for emitting over one third of Australia's greenhouse gas emissions.
Dr Platt added: "For a zero-emission Christmas light show, you may consider using solar powered lights or sourcing your electricity from verified green power suppliers.

Screw The Holidays & Don't Dare Mention Jesus

Ho, ho, nope! FGCU to limit holiday decor
Christmas is just 30 days away, but Santa Claus won't be stopping by Florida Gulf Coast University this holiday.
He's not allowed on campus.
FGCU administration has banned all holiday decorations from common spaces on campus and canceled a popular greeting card design contest, which is being replaced by an ugly sweater competition. In Griffin Hall, the university's giving tree for needy preschoolers has been transformed into a "giving garden."
The moves boil down to political correctness.
"Public institutions, including FGCU, often struggle with how best to observe the season in ways that honor and respect all traditions," President Wilson Bradshaw wrote in a memo to faculty and staff Thursday. "This is a challenging issue each year at FGCU, and 2008 is no exception. While it may appear at times that a vocal majority of opinion is the only view that is held, this is not always the case."
How's this for honoring and respecting? And these clowns are "educating" our young adults. They can't read, do math or think for themselves, but they'll be able to pontificate on how evil America and Christians are.
El Presidente Bradshaw is correct about one thing, there is a vocal majority and they are being terrorized by a minority of haters.

A Christmas challenge. I have made this challenge to family members and they were not happy after accepting and trying to meet the challenge.
CHALLENGE: Do not buy or use Christmas decorations or Nativity sets made in communist China. Most Christmas products made in communist China are produced by Christian slave labor.
This means no garland, toys, tree ornaments, lawn decorations, tinsel, mantel creches, candles, snow globes, music boxes, tree stands, electric candles, Christmas lights (tree, house, etc.), mantle stockings, trees, cups, mugs, Christmas cards, wrapping, ribbon and any other thing you may use for Christmas. Especially galling is communist China producing Nativity sets. Don't buy them. Most IMPORTANT, tell the decision maker for the retail store you use why you are not purchasing these items. They will be stunned as well when they try to find non communist Christmas items. They are getting harder to find.
First year I did this our tree and house were pretty bare. Good luck and let me know how you make out.

Can't We ALL Just Get Along?
YES we can if we are all liberal, non-Christian and a minority if we all hate George W. Bush, corporations, the military and America as we've known it.
NO, we can't if you are conservative, white and a Christian. That would be impossible.
Enough is enough, but enough of what? The hyper-sensitivity that turns bureaucrats in quivering sissies or of the sad little complainers or the courts, both judicial and public opinion, that give their secular imprimatur?
All of the above.
UPDATE: Missouri State Reverses Decision About Removing Christmas Tree
Yeah, it's the best approach if you're a wimp. It definately is not the best approach if you're the poor schlub that has to put it up, take it down and now put it back up. Maybe have the whiners and complainers do the set up next time.

A Christmas tree that had been removed from the atrium of Strong Hall at Missouri State University will return, along with other religious holiday symbols in that building, school president Michael T. Nietzel said in a news release Thursday morning.A meeting that had been scheduled Friday to discuss appropriate MSU holiday decorations has been canceled, he said.

"It's not a big issue," he said. "Some people raised the question about the tree and the best way to approach it was to take it down to discuss it."
Yeah, it's the best approach if you're a wimp. It definately is not the best approach if you're the poor schlub that has to put it up, take it down and now put it back up. Maybe have the whiners and complainers do the set up next time.
