By What Margin Must Repubs Win To Prevent Dems From Stealing Election?

Well, in WV it's probably 5%. Chicago is more difficult, but take the number of graves, divide by whatever percentage necessary and add union votes on top of Demo machine votes, hold until necessary and serve late. In Cleveland and Detroit one must take the number of empty lots and houses and multiply by 3-4 registrants (as necessary) voting for Democrats. In other states the recipe may vary due to temperature, unguarded border length and altitude.

Columbus, Ohio Mayor Coleman To Ban City Funded Travel To DC And All States

He must. Well, if he is going to be consistent because the Arizona law simply reiterates federal laws already in place for all 50 states and the District of Columbia. That should help cut the city budget woes.

Actually, he is being consistent with the politically correct crowd which is rarely consistent with reality. Such as:

Coleman bans city-funded travel to Arizona

But,

Columbus recently extended its agreement with Phoenix-based Redflex Traffic Systems Inc., which owns and operates the city's 20 red-light cameras. The new contract will double the number of cameras posted at Columbus intersections to issue tickets to red-light-runners.

Rescinding that program "wouldn't make sense to the taxpayers," Williamson said.

"Wouldn't make sense" eh? No, it sure wouldn't make sense to boycott that which benefits Columbus. Those cameras free up officers for Coleman's personal security detail no doubt.

Speaking of security:

Kalamazoo Central seniors aren't the only ones asked the 'Citizen status' question regarding President Barack Obama's visit

I love the snittiness of the editor walking back the original article's point which is that the president needs to know who is going to be around him, if they are safe and, you know, security type things. The editor doesn't even see the irony when they state that the security (identification) check isn't just for students, it is for everyone. Everyone. Everyone has to prove not only who there are, but also prove who they're not.

Which brings us back to the security question in general which brings us back to Arizona and its new law which restates what the federal law says, but doesn't enforce, but the president does enforce on those around him because it benefits him.

So, why is Coleman banning travel to Arizona? Is it because he doesn't like the law or does he need to save enough money to pay for law enforcement tools here in Columbus which when used, forces citizens to produce identification? Oh, and money. Lots of it.

Seems a lot of people need to show identification, but a lot of people are upset with Arizona for doing the same thing. Maybe it because a lot of illegal aliens are of a different skin color, but that would make it racist to say they don't have to show identification, but the rest of the people do. Of course, some cur might suggest that this whole issue is nothing more than an attempt to garner votes by and for a particular political party.

But, that would be racist, no?

Voting Is My Calling, I Return Those Calls Often

"The Ohio primary isn't for another five weeks, but voters can actually begin casting ballots today." Pretty much says it all in that one sentence. Voters casting ballots. Ballots. Plural.

Remember when Jennifer Brunner was all against voter ID to stop voter fraud because making sure a voter was who they said they were was actually an evil plot to suppress the vote? Voter suppression doesn't seem to bother Jennifer now, what with all her new rulings that she is being forced to enforce, like making a voter swear on somebody’s secret decoder ring that they really are a part of the party they want to vote for if they're switching parties. At the polling station in front of other people. Before you will be allowed to vote. Unless you're a Greenie, Commie or Socialist voter because then you're exempt.

Absentee voting is rife with fraud through out the country and has been for years. It used be an accurate joke that Chicago's dead came back to life at least once every four years just to vote. I personally was told in a Louisiana parish office that a local citizen, at the time approximately 150 years old, had never missed a vote and never would. Now, it appears the nation is voting as never before.

Grannies with dementia are voting numerous times from their nursing home beds while facility workers turn a blind eye as they put the bribe in their pocket. Campaign workers from out of state are making sure their absentee ballots are in here in Ohio before they return back to their states where presumably they voted absentee as well. Friendly volunteers, usually from out of state, help not just the elderly, but also the insane, the mentally incapacitated, the drunks and of course the homeless to fill out the absentee ballot for the candidate of their choice. The volunteer’s choice.

Proponents use all kinds of bogus excuses such as it increases voting when in actuality it doesn't and in many cases decreases the number of ballots cast. But those proponents know this and they don't care because in reality, absentee voting is just another way to steal elections in the name of "protecting" the validity of the vote.

Unions Use 'Slush' Funds To Elect Dems And Trash Americans

The war against the Tea Party movement is wholly funded by unions and their war room is in a lawyer's office in Washington DC.

300 M Street, Suite 1102 is the law office of Joseph Sandler, a longtime general counsel to the Democratic National Committee. From this office millions of dollars of union members (some of which object to this) flows to help Democrats get elected. campaigning against other views and to push union legislation such as card check in an obvious quid pro quid with the Obama Administration and the Democratic Party. It is unethical and dishonest, but they claim it is legal.

Outside of that firm, the center of their activity appears to be a single office in Southeast D.C. -- 300 M Street, Suite 1102 -- which plays host to a sprawling political shell game they have established.

Public records show at least seven political shops listed in Suite 1102, most of which are essentially clones of one another, but all of which have offered money -- from measly thousands to game-changing millions -- in state-level elections across the country:

-The American Public Policy Committee Donations IRS forms
-Patriot Majority Donations IRS forms
-Citizens for Progress Donations IRS forms
-Oklahoma Freedom Fund Donations IRS forms
-Mid Atlantic Leadership Fund Donations IRS forms
-Public Security Now Donations IRS forms
-Pioneer Majority Donations IRS forms
-Bluegrass Freedom Fund Donations IRS forms

The APPC, which developed the anti-tea party ads, has gotten all of its money for 2010 from Patriot Majority and from Citizens for Progress, which is also called Patriot Majority West.
Patriot Majority West sent them
$25,000 in January, and Patriot Majority added another $5,000. The groups, both run by Varoga and Rakis, also swap hundreds of thousands of dollars between themselves, money often buttressed by gifts from Patriot Majority Midwest, seen above as the Oklahoma Freedom Fund.

The confusing naming system is intentional, say election law experts, who generally disapprove of the practice.

Is it any wonder that more and more Americans look at unions as corrupt? What took so long...

Indicator Of Ohio's Demise

When people leave and take their money and patronage with them, it is an indicator of deep problems whether it is a small business or big business. When business goes elsewhere, well, then somebody has screwed the pooch big time.

Welcome to Ohio.

Unfortunately this cannot all be blamed on Democrats, unions and their allies in poaching the public purse.

Remember Bob Taft? Remember state elected Republicans and those in Washington as they emulated Democrats? Yep, they were spending our money like drunks in a Tijuana whorehouse with no repercussions or remorse.

They did so to be re-elected or they had convinced themselves that government, and our money, could right the ills of a society that government had caused in the first place. Either way, a disaster.

If workers and business continue to flee Ohio we won't have to worry that 30% of workers will have to support the other 70% of Ohio's population. At that point governments workers from those states with fiscal sense will be supporting 100% of Ohio's population.

How low Ohio has sunk. If things do not turn around dramatically and soon, Ohio's demise will be imminent.

High Speed Trains From Elsewhere May Go To Nowhere

Obama is giving Ohio big money to start a high speed train system. Huh? Why? It's a big money we don't have that will spent on trains that nobody wants which will be used by crowds of people big enough to almost fill a Prius which will get people there faster and cheaper. In other words, high speed trains in Ohio is a government boondoggle just for show.

Oh, and the boondoggle will be foreign built using foreign technology.

Another tidbit not quite bantered about by supporters is that the money isn't enough to complete the system here in Ohio. Who really needs a high speed train from the wrong side of Cleveland to Blue Ball, Ohio?

Coakley Hires DSCC Thug To Rough Up Reporter

And Brown gets small donations from all over adding up to $1.3 million dollars. Unions are pouring hundreds of thousands of dollars into trying to save Coakley who is now embarrassing Obama and the kids in DC.

This Photo May Change The Election

A follow up by the reporter thrown to the ground:

Assailant Was a Coakley Staffer on Loan from the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee?
A tipster tells me that the man who was pushing me outside of a Capitol Hill fundraiser Tuesday night for Massachusetts Democratic Senate candidate Martha Coakley is Michael Meehan.

Meehan heads up a firm called Blue Line Strategic Communications along with his partner David DiMartino, who was outside the fundraiser with Coakley tonight and introduced himself to me there. The AP reported on Monday that Meehan is also working for Coakley: "The Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee also dispatched Michael Meehan, a media consultant with ties to Massachusetts, to assist the Coakley camp with messaging."

It seems that Meehan has worked for a number of candidates that want to make nice with thugs. Maybe that is why he was hired. He obviously understands thuggery.

HERE is his posting on LinkedIn.

SEIU Goes To MA, Coakley Goes To DC, Brown Goes To The People

Sounds about right.

SEIU goes to Massachusett(e)s to steal a lot of votes, Coakley goes to DC to steal a lot of union member's money and Brown goes to the people to campaign for "the people's seat."

Purple Army to Coakley’s rescue: SEIU sends $685,000 more; And speaking of thugs…

As usual, Coakley is surrounded by thugs.

At least the Kennedy's learned to outsource their thuggery.

Obama Buying Votes Applause

Yep, the last line just about wraps up Obama's popularity. He buys it.

SEOUL
Obama arrived on the base 3:19 p.m. local time (1 a.m. Eastern Standard Time) and received a rousing welcome from 1,500 troops in camouflage uniforms, many holding cameras or pointing cell phones to snap pictures.

"You guys make a pretty good photo op," the president said.

Standing on a riser wearing a blue suit and red tie, with a cluster of troops and a large American flag behind him, Obama expressed "the gratitude of the American public" and said his meetings in four countries over eight days in Asia will help deliver a "safer, more prosperous world for all of us."

He got a huge cheer when he told them he was increasing military pay. "That's what you call an applause line," he said, before boarding his jet and taking off at 4:11 p.m.

Raises, paying mortgages and gas, giving unions car companies and jobs to Marxist cronies. Maybe his next campaign slogan will be, "It's not just gas and mortgages, vote for me cause I bought you your cars and I'll throw in some big screen TVs just to level the playing field"

Dear President Clinton

Dear President Clinton,

I read with great interest the paean written about you today on the Politico 44 site. It's nice that you are so revered by so many, even our current President Obama who obviously adores you. You must be a real comfort to him, especially in these, his difficult times.

I do have question about your statement, "The reason the tea-baggers are so inflamed is because we are winning." Is this a triangulation of your hopes, the truth and the media to get what you want? Man, it's great having your own hopes, truth and printing press!

It must be comforting that upwards of a million people protested the Democrat health care "reform" in Washington, DC and millions more around the nation are not only protesting, but are also driving the number of people supporting this unconstitutional power-grab by a liberal government lower and lower. Is that winning? If so, who moved the goal posts again?

You also stated, "The point I want to make is: Just pass the bill, even if it's not exactly what you want. When you try and fail, the other guys write history.”

Are the other guys the American public and if any bill is better than no bill, is that because whatever legislation passes, it can be changed in the middle of the night to get what Obama really wants, at a later date? Is this winning or just a cheap and sleazy way to undermine the will of the people? You do realize that the people do have a will and they're not nearly as stupid as you and Obama think they are, right? Being a moderate and all, I am sure you are aware of this, I think.

Anyway, great article, I trust you were able to get it written just the way you wanted it in one draft. Give my best to Hillary and whoever else you are seeing these days.

Regards,
The people

P.S. I am sure you are much more aware of what the term "tea bagger" means than most people, especially conservatives, so maybe next time you use the term to describe a very large section of the population, you'll also give a definition when you use it. People always appreciate knowing what people, even presidents, think of them. It helps build confidence not only in themselves, but your cause.

Corzine Propping Up Daggett To Split 'R' Vote

Corzine has Obama, in-state unions and liberal groups as well as ACORN and related groups as well as associate groups from out of state pouring into New Jersey to prop up his fading candidacy.

Now Corzine and New Jersey's Democrat Party has enlisted, abetted and financially helped "Independent" Chris Daggett for a Corzine win.

Democrats admit paying for pro-Daggett call

Joe Cryan, Democrat State Chairman for New Jersey, stated when asked if the Democrats had anything to do with the calls:

"No. Zero. Nada. No," he said.

The press decided that Cryan must be telling the truth say that the calls source was in doubt:

NJ Republicans, Democrats dispute source of automated calls for independent ...

I guess we can add the media to the long list of in state and out of state liberal groups working for Corzine.

And then there is the outright voter fraud:

Will 'ACORN" Steal The Seat For Corzine?

If Corzine pulls this out, we know how he is trying, it will be trumpeted as an Obama victory since Obama has basically moved to New Jersey of late.

Will 'ACORN" Steal The Seat For Corzine?

It is way too weird that the Chicago Mob is working over time in New Jersey to form a "Corruption for Corzine" committee. They have brought in fellow mob members from Pennsylvania and New York. Everybody knows they are there and why they are there.

Chris Christie's Next Case: Who Stole My Election?
Absentee voter fraud may play a significant role in New Jersey's gubernatorial election.

The New Jersey Democratic Party is pressuring county officials not to scrutinize mismatching signatures on any absentee ballot. Indeed, Democratic Party lawyer Paul Josephson wrote New Jersey's secretary of state asking for a ruling that would not allow county officials to throw out ballots with signatures that do not match because county clerks "may be overworked and are likely not trained in handwriting analysis." I presume that if Daffy Duck and Foghorn Leghorn cast ballots where the signatures match that those ballots are valid in Democrat's eyes. That is, if they voted for Corzine.

Part of the whole "sanctity of the ballot" issue is that the New Jersey state government, under Corzine, and the federal government, under Obama, will guarantee the legality of the process.

No problem there, eh?

NY-23 - Scozzafava Is One Bad Cup Of Scuzzy Java

Either she lied all along and is a Democrat or Scozzafava is a bitter hypocrite who should never again be in a position of power. Either way she made a fool of Newt Gingrich and the National Republican Congressional Committee who placed trust in her character and ethics if not her political positions.

GOP ex-candidate endorses Democrat in NY race

I hope she has energized the Republican base to come out in droves and crush the Democrat and any hope she may have of ever returning to politics.

People hate Benedict Arnolds and once labeled a turncoat never to be trusted, always a turncoat never to be trusted again. Of course, this wouldn't disallow her from officially joining the Democrat Party.

Goodbye Dede. Don't let the door hit you in the butt.

Unions Get $10 B To Help Pass ObamasCare

via Brain Shavings

Hey, somebody has to pay for all those "volunteers" that will be manning the "spontaneous" pro-health reform rallies, information booths and theatrics for the cameras. Now we know how it will be paid for.

$10 billion payoff to unions from taxpayer funds (go read and follow the links)

Astroturfing doesn't come cheap. I wonder what and how much the main stream media is getting?

Swine Socialist Flu Comes To The United States

If only the U.S. had a Socialist health care system like Mexico or a Socialist economic system like so many other Socialist nations, then all the illegal aliens would go home. Why not suffer the same inadequate care and poverty near family and friends.

Mexico's health care on a pedestal
Universal coverage, seeking to reach tens of millions since 2003, has become a model for other nations

Mexico, socialist-dominated for most of the 20th century, has had socialized insurance plans since 1943, but only those with full-time jobs had access to free health care. That left out half of the country's population. Frenk, working for Mexico's first post-socialist government under President Vicente Fox, set out with specialists to create a plan that would bring universal health insurance to everyone who needed it - and that meant 50 million people. And he wanted it accomplished within seven years.

First Confirmed U.S. Swine Flu Death: Toddler Was Mexican or American?

The death of a child is tragic. The death of all persons fleeing a 'universal' or socialized form of medical care is a national disaster that is coming to the United States. The 23 month old child reportedly was from Mexico, who was in Brownsville when the child showed symptoms of the flu and was shipped to Houston and died. Other reports state that the child was brought to the United States from Mexico for treatment.

RELATED: How many more 'disasters' does the Obama Administration need to distract the voters while they implement more and more government control of business, banking, medicine and our personal lives?

Media Drumbeat Amplifies Coverage of Flu Outbreak

How ironic that the news is about a pork flu that may just increase into the ultimate pork, government universal health care, because only the government cares and only the government can. YES WE CAN! GOT HOPE? CHANGE!

The Economic Lies Of Sin Taxes

The tobacco settlement went to tobacco cessation programs, right? Lottery taxes pay for that quality public education that Dick, Jane and Johnetta get, right? Cigarette taxes pay for the increased cost the filthy habit imposes on society, right?

Nah. Sin taxes are a hoax.

Do they do some good? Yes. Do they do harm? Yes. Do these taxes help the very people they are purported to help through social engineering by local, state and the federal government. No. Do these taxes encourage more wanton government spending which allows government to interpose itself more into our private lives? Absolutely, yes.

Most importantly, are these taxes 'healthy' form of taxation? No, they are a perfidy upon our system of government.

Bootleggers, buttleggers and lootleggers are now a common forms of crime throughout the country and is getting worse daily because of further increases in government taxation on products that the public wants.

Government gets away with it by holding the innocent, the children and the health of the nation as reasons for otherwise logical citizens to buy into their illogical and false arguments. It would be more honest for the government to put a picture of a kitty on each product and say, "Pay the tax or kitty gets it." Unfortunately, our induced entitlement society no longer seems to have a problem with a dishonest government. In fact, to get 'theirs', they have embraced it and have thrown logic and truth out of the window. As long as they get what is 'owed' them, screw the other guy.

Sin taxes do not discourage the great majorities of their target, The Center for Disease Control has issued papers and studies showing that smokers remain the same percentage as before, even increasing in certain age and sex groups. Alcohol sales have remained steady until recently when they headed up sharply. Even though most people do not view lotteries as taxes, they are indeed, and not paid by all, but only by those whose engage in playing the lottery.

As one state increases their tax, the state next door increases their tax until one state lowers their tax to increase traffic (lower taxes do increase revenue) and then the first state makes a law that prohibits the interstate importation of said product from the lower taxed state back into their state. So much for fair interstate commerce, but the real culprit is interstate competition in business. Competition, as we all know, between private commerce is our market system and a good one for balancing prices and quality making for a good value for the consumer. Anti-price gouging laws are the counterbalance. Business competition, ie, monopoly enforcement, between states and other forms of government has been and is a disaster which hurts the consumer.

State lotteries, once forbidden nationwide, have grown exponentially to 'stop' the flow of money from one state to another. When one state forms a lottery, the one next door is likely to jump on the education/lottery bandwagon because they state 'their' tax dollars are fleeing the state. First, it isn't the state's money; second, the state should not be in business (think Fannie and Freddie); and third, the state lies to their citizens by stating what the raised tax money will be spent on and then spending it elsewhere and actually just creating another bureaucracy.

Higher and higher taxes to stop people from smoking and to pay for the increased costs of smoking on society is a set of canards that Barnum would be proud of. As smokers tend to die younger, they have not only saved the government and society a pot of money, they have paid for the right to die younger in sums that would make organized crime blush which is why organized crime has jumped into these markets. They want to steal as much money as the government has only without taxation, just profits. At least they are honest about their dishonesty.

Cigarette Taxes Are Fueling Organized Crime
Last month, New York law enforcement authorities announced the arrest of Queens resident Rafea al-Nablisi for smuggling 12,000 cartons of cigarettes a week. It was not the first such arrest, and thanks to New York's latest cigarette tax hike, it will not be the last.

On April 23, less than two weeks after Mr. Nablisi's arrest was made public, Gov. David Paterson signed into law a $1.25 per-pack tax hike on top of the state's $1.50 per-pack tax. That's in addition to New York City's own $1.50 per-pack tax. Come July 1, New York City's smokers will be paying on average $9 a pack for legal cigarettes.

But if history is any guide, most cigarettes sold will actually be trucked up from Virginia, or shipped in from China, by "butt-leggers" who can make over $1 million on each tractor-trailer load of smuggled smokes. The blunt fact, which politicians of both political parties are determined to ignore, is that high cigarette taxes in New York have led to a bloody, decades-long smuggling epidemic.

While the problem first surfaced during the Great Depression, tax hikes in the early 1960s created a major profit opportunity for smugglers and kicked the epidemic into high gear. By 1967, a quarter of the cigarettes consumed in the Empire State were bootlegged. New York City's finance administrator labeled cigarette smuggling the "principal stoking facility of the engine of organized crime."

Smuggling is very profitable. My ancestors could attest to that. Smuggling has become very dangerous and violent which takes law enforcement away from protecting the general public which does not engage in smuggling. This is yet another form of hidden taxation when we are asked to be taxed more for our safety when the increased crime and violence was actually made possible by government and then encouraged as they ignore reality and further increase their stupidity and our taxes.

Sin taxes are regressive, ie they disproportionately target the poor. These taxes hurt the very segment of society which they purport to help. Love stinks. They are regressive in another way as well as children learn that smoking, drinking and gambling are stupid, ergo their parents or family members who do so must be stupid and the state smart, making sin taxes good thus we, as a society, must have more taxes paving the way for more government programs and departments they were never intended to take part in, but are supported by certain segments of society and politicians hoping to pad their nest and get re-elected.

This is the rotten dais from which lies about the economics of taxation and sin taxes are told.

Democrats Don't Like The Constitution "Our people can virtually taste this vote"

States have constitutional rights to representation, districts and cities do not.

The District of Columbia is our federal city.

Senate Committee Passes Bill
A Senate committee easily passed a bill yesterday that would give the District its first full seat in the House of Representatives, sending it to the full chamber for a crucial vote expected in the next few weeks or months.
...

Two of the three Republicans present -- Susan Collins (Maine) and George V. Voinovich (Ohio) -- backed the bill.
...

McCain said that the bill violated the Constitution's provision that House representatives be chosen by "the people of the several states," since the District is not a state.

"I think it's unconstitutional," he said. He added, "If the District of Columbia deserves a member of the House of Representatives, they deserve two senators as well."

Many Republicans have been wary that the bill could lead to two D.C. seats in the Senate, which would probably give Democrats a significant boost. The question of constitutionality has elicited differing opinions from legal scholars. If the bill becomes law, it is expected to face an immediate legal challenge.

Supporters at the hearing argued that the bill would right a historical wrong.

Sen. Roland W. Burris (D-Ill.), who was recently appointed to fill President Barack Obama's Senate seat, said he became aware of the D.C. vote issue when he attended the Howard University School of Law in the early 1960s.

"It's about time we get some representation for the District of Columbia," he said.
...

Democrats hold a 58 to 41 advantage in the Senate. Del. Eleanor Holmes Norton (D-D.C.) said she believed the bill had the 60 Senate supporters necessary to overcome a filibuster.

"Our people can virtually taste this vote," she said.

The composition of the House of Representatives is described in Article I, Section 2 of the Constitution:

The House of Representatives shall be composed of Members chosen every second
Year by the People of the several States, and the Electors in each State shall
have the Qualifications requisite for Electors of the most numerous Branch of
the State Legislature.

There are ways that the district could be represented in Congress. One such way is through a non-voting member which currently is Delegate Eleanor Holmes Norton in the House.

Another, retrocession, ceding the District of Columbia back to Maryland, has been discussed, but Maryland wisely wants no part of that. The Virginia section of the District of Columbia was ceded back to Virginia in 1846 and that section known as Northern Virginia has skewed the wishes and the votes of Virginia, especially of late, much to the consternation of the rest of the state.

What is being tried now is having Congress just make the district a state. Proponents say that the district is not too small and that its population is actually bigger than Wyoming, but the citizens of Wyoming are not all employed or beholding to a monolithic employer such as the United States government and its ever growing bureaucracy of liberals. Conservatives also contend, and this is very important, if the power of Congress to "exercise exclusive legislation" over the District is used to supersede other sections of the Constitution, then the powers granted to the Congress could potentially be unlimited, but Barack Obama, a Senate co-sponsor of the "District of Columbia House Voting Rights Act of 2007" (H.R. 1433), said, during his presidential campaign, that he would sign such a bill if it was passed by the Congress while he was President.

The bottom line is that Obama and his liberal masters in Congress want to make the Democrat Party the permanent Party of the federal government. They will shred the Constitution, ignore history and bend or break laws with impunity to become that Party. Just look at the blatant power snatch using the Census and making it answerable to the White House.

As the always estimatible Eleanor Norton Holmes said, "Our people can virtually taste this vote."

Stimulus Package: Socialized Medicine, Socialized Education And Outright Bribery

The Pelosi Obama Reid (POR) stimulus package is an outright power grab to give into the hands of the federal government medical care and public education and entire sections of the voting public into the hands of the Democrat Party.

Morning Bell: The Pelosi-Obama-Reid Trillion Dollar Debt Plan

What Hillary Clinton couldn't do as First Nurse years ago, this bill will make government the default care giver for the unemployed and 3/4's of children in the United States. Recap: socialized medicine.

The bill will place the federal bureaucracy in charge, not parents and local school boards, of our children's education. "The New York Times reports today, the bill will “profoundly change the federal government’s role in education, which has traditionally been the responsibility of state and local government.”" If federal bureaucracy was already in charge we'd have Al Gore's global warming bilge, without any questions, being taught as sound science.

Then you get to the pretty little bribes baubles, called spending priorities:

$1 billion for Amtrak - a money pit that still can't run on time or full - bring back the smoking cars
$2 billion for child care subsidies - federal control for an early age
$50 million for the National Endowment for the Arts - government has ruined the arts
$400 million for global warming research - better to research the coming ice age
$2.5 billion for clean coal - private business could do this for less and faster
$650 million for even more digital TV conversion coupons - 5 years lead up, so postpone and raise cost
$600 million for new government cars - won't save Detroit from Washington
$7 billion for modernizing federal buildings - tear down half of them for new business
$150 million for the Smithsonian - government shouldn't be in there
$54 billion for Economic Office and Small Business Administration programs - what a waste and both proven failures

All of the above programs (and many more not listed) are ineffective and in some cases even harmful to the country and business, but POR wants to throw good money after bad as payback to their people.

Hot Rod Blagojevich And The Political Machine Of Chicago Goes To Washington

The politics of Chicago, which is a stain on the body politic of this nation, is going to Washington, DC. I hope it doesn't get mugged.

New York has its classy hood politicians anointed by the ruling class to put a face up for them, Boston traditionally cloaks its corruption in the tears of the Irish, Cleveland corruption features political cousins with boxes of canollis in hand from Youngstown, New Orleans was built beneath the sea by pirates and grew into a disfuctional resort for corruption with a wink from the French and Philadelphia, the City of Brotherly Love, hasn't loved an honest man since Benjamin Franklin. Witness their history of mayors and their adopted son, the ham-fisted hammer, past mayor and now Governor, Big Ed Rendell.

There are many other cities with traditional machines that are corrupt with behind-the-scenes type of governance, but Chicago wears its love for bad boy politics on its sleeve as no other city in America. Chicago is the model for diversity in corruption from the lowly block captain and their army of community organizers, to the vaunted head of corruption, the mayor and his disciples of deception, the city council. Now these oafs are going to Washington.

The Obama is taking a part of the Chicago machine to be co-presidents with him in our nation's capitol. It's a good thing they're getting out of Chicago. Most of them should be indicted back in the Windy City for merely breathing. Breathing is a sign of survival and a sign of victory over one's enemies on the shore of that great lake. The bottom of that lake is littered with the non-breathers and on a hot day, the smell of rot smells, like victory.

Washington, DC is a place all its own. Built on a swamp and placed as a compromise between warring factions of the young republic, it's underlying stink is only marginally masked by winter. It's filled with bureaucrats who'd knife their mother for a promotion, a window desk and a pension. The bureaucrats are "run" by politicians and their staffs who are elected, in some cases, by the people. The politicians are lead by such déclassé people such as Pelosi, Reid, Schumer who answer only to their handlers. It's kinda like the Cabots and the Lodges, but God has no part in it. He's smart that way. If only Chicago was.

There's no lake for the losers in Washington. There needn't be, the city is, after all, built on a swamp. Unions make themselves noticed in their marble temples and fleets of limos carrying their leaders to early morning meetings at restaurants around the city for lunch. Community organizers are like pets to bring out at political functions, usually to give an award to a politician. The mob is frowned upon in DC because Congress hates competiton. The power elite in Washington control the flow of information, which is money, and wouldn't give a fig about our Republic if it weren't for those pesky constitutional issues. They will chew up and then use the bumpkins from Chicago until they have no more use for them. If Chicago is the sympton that "government of the people, by the people, for the people" is ill, Washington, DC is the virus which may cause it to perish.

Unfortunately, Hot Rod Blagojevich won't be going to Washington. He forgot the cardinal rule of Chicago where watching your watchers and having their watchers in your employ is not just a neccessity, but is in his union contract. Well, at least he should have peers to commiserate with in the Governor's Wing of the state penitentiary. At least he is still breathing. For now.

Why This Election Makes No Sense To The Average Voter: Headlines

A sampling of headlines from Drudge show an electorate made up of people actually electing candidates, but hounded by a media completely out of control, special interest groups that do not have America's best interest at heart, politicians pandering and posturing for the next Congress, citizens expecting the second coming if not at least to be supported by the government and system bureaucrats that fooling with our electoral system to their own ends.

That we have a system that works may be truly the most amazing story of all. That we have a group of liberals, socialists and a government bureaucracy buying votes is not the main story, but it should be.
