Jerrold Nadler Best Constitution Scholar Evah!
Jerrold, our bon vivant about town and from the scholarly climes of truth versus the idiotic said that the reading of the Constitution was ritualistic, ergo wrong, appears to be neither a scholar nor a knowledgeable person. Surprising? Nah.

ASPCA And Saccharin Overkill
I like watching home improvement shows so I can see what I should be doing if I actually got off the couch. Watching these programs one gets used to being indoctrinated by agendas not yours such as the preponderance of gay couples fixing up their houses and that all husbands are dolts. Very few of these episodes show people with pets.
So why is ASPCA flooding these shows with their ads? The ads show wounded hurting animals with sad eyes in cages that are cold and hard as musical artists like Willie Nelson and Lilith Fair's reigning queen of emotionalism, Sarah McLachlan wail in the background to put you in the right mood to cry as you grab the phone to give away all your money to the ASPCA.
The ads play more than the ambulance chasing mesothelioma lawyer ads. They play constantly and to the point I have to stop watching and actually go do some home improvement.
I hate the ads. I detest them.
We have three dogs, all of which were abused, which we love to death and they are happy and feeling quite the family members. As I write I am surrounded by them peacefully snoring away. Well, Minnie has her right rear leg going with a yelp now and then, but with a smile.
Maybe, instead of trying to help animals or raise funds the ASPCA is trying to get gay couples and stupid husbands to adopt pets. Whatever the case Willie and Sarah are out of my music library and the ASPCA won't get another thought let alone any shekels of mine. Before the doctors can even complete their work and before the public knows the facts of this tragedy, liberal Democratic Underground has decided that Sara Palin should be tried for assassinating Rep. Giffords. They are idiots who will never waste a crisis that they believe enables them to blame those they disagree with.
My prayers are with Rep. Giffords, her staff, all those injured or killed and their families.

Misunderstanding American Conservatism Completely
I've never thought E. J. Dionne a particularly interesting or wise man, but with his newest column he has given us a clear understanding of him as a political commenter.
"Small Government" Talk is Just Rhetoric
Alas for all of us and for American conservatism in particular, the new Republican majority that took control of the House on Wednesday is embarked on an experiment in government by abstractions. Many in its ranks pride themselves on being practical business people, but they behave as professors in thrall to a few thrilling ideas.
Rhetoric. Practical. Professors. Experiment. Notwithstanding that our whole form of government is an experiment I can only guess that to Dionne there are good experiments and bad experiments and of course such declarations of success and failure should be his call. Also, I can only guess that to Dionne practical is relative, but it is an educated guess.
That leaves us with Dionne's words professor and rhetoric which are worlds and words that Dionne revels in as a practical experiment to understand the bankrupt, both financially and ethically, world the rest of us mere conservatives reside in.
Dionne could have saved us time by simply stating that he believes Republicans have already failed in all their endeavours and should immediately knuckle under to Obama, Dionne's ideological dream.

Madhatter Of Congress (I Mean That In The Nicest Way)
Wearing hats is her fashion signature and she owns a vast collection of them. She’d like a 173 year-old rule of the United States House of Representatives changed so she can wear her hats on the House floor while working during session.

I had to look for more pics. There are tons because she has collected hats for 30 years and believes the hats and coordinated suits (canary yellow, fire engine red, etc.) define her.
Her priority as a new member is to have rule banning hats on the floor of the House changed and wants Speaker Boehner to rescind the rule. He can't. Not by himself.
I think the whole world would like to see an American Congressman wearing a cowboy hat with a matching canary yellow suit while in the well of the House. It just screams gravitas.

Steny Hoyer Says We Are From Unhappy Families
It's a good thing he didn't just come out and call us trailer trash. I'd have to don my Oshkoshs and BB silkies and git up there to set him straight. Actually, my family was as happy as it could be where two sets of grandparents showed up regularly and my five older sisters had to put up with cutie-pie me. Fortunately I didn't have to share everything with my sisters. Maybe that's unfortunate to Steny, but I drew the line at hand-me-down Capri pants and training bras.

Mohammed Saeed al-Sahhaf has been a peer of Gibbs and a highly placed White House source confirmed that al-Sahhaf has long been suspected of being Sen. John Kerry's speech writer when Gibbs also worked for Kerry.

Schumer Should Forgo Personal Protection Because He's A Hypocrite About Health Care Foes
Chuckie, as usual, wants to go for the cheap shot to make a point. Chuckie just works that way. Must be because kids hated him as a kid. You could say they beat the Christmas rush.
Chuckie thinks those against ObamaCare shouldn't have health care. Really Chuckie? Let's look at some of your statements and stands.
Schumer should forgo protection by the military and law enforcement officials because when the vote is important he votes against them. Oh, he votes for union supported legislation, but he votes against the line soldier and the line law enforcement officer. Always. And he votes against victims of crime, for the perpetrators of crime and against the security interests of America.

2011: Dear Republicans
Congress is about to start again. That can be very scary to individuals. This year it is especially scary because we have been promised restraint, spending cuts and less government before. Unfortunately Republicans took the Congressional road of addiction to more spending and bigger government.
It would be easy to say that they were attracted to buildings, roads, parks and port-a-potties to be named after them. It would be easy because they are attracted to such things. They are that base.
So, this is a Dear Republican plea. Stop the spending. Stop the growth of government. Stop thebribery earmarks. Stop your desire to take from us that which we do not desire to cede to you.
Be Republicans. It isn't that difficult. Just act like you went to the local barber shop and a simple clip just cost you $20. No wash. No nails. Just a clip.
See how pissed we are?
Do your job or we'll send you home in 2012. Then you'll have to pay for your own haircut because there aren't any free taxpayer clip joints outside Washington, DC.

Time To Finally Get Government Out Of The Booze Business
Here in Ohio the state government made a big deal, untruthfully, that they were getting out of the business of selling booze. Our family referred to the outlets a "state dairies" and the state did close their (our) outlets and got rid of or reassigned the workers, but they did not get out of the business. The state would never give up their right to nitpick, control and generally ruin anything the public likes because that is what bureaucrats live and love to do. They love to play mommy (dearest).
Liquor outlets (that's what they're called) operate on a very tight margin because the state controls the price They also control when, where and how much any sales that may occur. They also control placement of bottles, any peripherals in the store and what each store may sell or not sell. There is so much more, but I am bored with cataloging how much over reach our government(s) take.
If government wants to be my mommy I want to be able to sue my "mommy" for child abuse.

The top one percent of earners pay 38 percent of all federal taxes.
I believe that only those that support our country with taxes should be able to vote. Those that don't shouldn't get to vote. Why should they?
Go through your day and try to find an object, service or product that hasn't been taxed multiple times. We pay too much in taxes for too much government. Too much government that too many people don't want and don't need.
So why do rich people not deserve a tax break?

The Cloward-Piven crowd sat back in smug enjoyment and plotted to expand it even more as movements such as AGW, anarchists and self incited (insert aggrieved party name) and other groups flood the system with not only their problems, but their self appointed resolutions which stripped down were/are merely the amount of the acceptable bribe (with a COLA built in).

Now that Republicans in Congress will read the Constitution aloud at the beginning of the new year's session maybe we at the state level can impose a test before legislators can vote. A test that would make members successfully define basic economic terms and a public exam where they balance a checkbook. That should cut their numbers by 3/4. That's a good thing.

Yank E. Doodle's 2011 Wish List
Yank is going to be busy helping old Cub Scouts out on the eve of the New Year so he stopped by for a nip of Flip (the aqua vitae) bringing his good friend Increase Mather which was a real downer for the Doodle family. All in all it was a good time and many a good thought was bandied about the abode.
You must understand that Yank is a down to earth type with a sense that should be common to all, but unfortunately isn't. Where Increase tends to pontificate Yank speaks to the heart of the nation. He had some thoughts not often spoken in the town square or near the town crier.
Yank's thoughts on the direction of a nation intending to stay a nation:
1. Why do we put up with politicians that lie? Oh, they may classify such villainous behavior as "speaking truth to power", but let us be bold in saying they take power by spaking no truth. I say let them have Pillory! With rotten vegetables. Publicly.
2. Where in the history of nations does it say that diplomatically putting up with enemies that constantly threaten us is more appropriate than squashing them like bugs to better allow us to be more productive and happier in our lives?
3. Alex Hamilton is a smart bastard, but his banks and taxes will get out of hand. Trust me on this. They will. It's their nature. They say a pence when they mean a pound (see #1). Soon they'' tax our living and call it a good thing. Don't get me started on Benny Franklin and all of his "good works" crap. Taxes will deform a man's vision of work and will be the doom of us as men with no function will profit from the publik square for no benefit, but their own.
4. Tommy Jefferson has got to step up to the plate. No more mister nice guy. All those books (see #3) have him talking to Adams which means more guvment which means more King Charles and his mad court right here in our Confederation (see #1). I thought the idea was not to allow guvment to tell us what we can do, but for us to tell guvment what they can't do. Mark my words, we'll need the constitution to make a document or something. It's come to that!
5. Paddy Henry is barking up the right tree with his "Give me liberty or give me death" stuff. He told me just the other day that some people were saying that government owed them something (see #4). Huh? Where's the liberty in that? They're sounding like a bunch of sissified Frenchies waiting for a favor from Court.
Alas, Yank had to go back to work. Increase having never uttered a coherent thought nipped some Flip for the ride home. Back to work meself, it is.

States Losing Pop Lost Dough
The Tax Prof revisits the top states losing population and points to their tax rates as the culprit. I would also be interested in their tax structure for individuals and for business.
Out of interest I went to look at the election results for those states to see which populations have learned from their past voting mistakes. Those that learned have a tough road ahead, but those who didn't learn, well, I bet they'll have their greasy little palms out pretty soon.
The biggest congressional losers in the census voted this way in the 2010 elections:

NYT Has Finally Jumped The Shark
and not a minute too soon.

I got reporters that continue to lie about everything under the sun and beyond.
I got Republicans that think Obama will be just fine.
I got a lame duck that should've been put out of its misery before it got lame.
I got clueless Republicans.
I got a refurbished death panel.
I got a lot of things I wish I could return tomorrow.

This unfinished panel in the Uffizi is nonetheless a masterpiece of the Florentine Renaissance. Christmas Eve Dinner For A Small Family
Vasto Antipasto-secret recipe from 1820 Italy
Ingredients for 6:
1/4 lb hot cappicola
1/4 lb mild cappicola
1/4 lb prosciutto
1/4 lb salami
1/4 lb Virgina ham
1/4 very hard imported (aged) provolone
1/4 roasted red peppers (slice thinly)
1 cup celery (small slices)
2 hard boil egg
1 can anchovies
1 jar of marinated artichokes
3/4 head of iceberg lettuce
1 can of black olives pitted
4 pope tomatoes
Layer with lettuce first, meats second, and then vegetables. Make a second layer and place thin slices of hard boil egg and anchovy on top (decorate nicely.). Mix red wine vinegar, olive oil, salt and pepper to taste (more red vinegar is best!).
Serve with hard Italian bread.
Recipe for Italian Boulibasse
3 quarts marinara sauce
10 lobster tails or 5 lobsters cut
2 cloves of garlic
1tbs of flat (italian) parsley
1/2 cup red wine
1/2 lb small (little necks) clams
1/2 lb mussels
1/4 lb cod
mix sauce, garlic, parsley, and red wine and heat until warm
add lobster, shrimp, cod, mussels, and lobster. Cook 15 - 20 mins on med. heat until a low boil.
Serve fish in separate bowl. Mix sauce with linguine in separate bowl.
Buon appetito!!!

Morons Forcing Us To Watch Ads Before Viewing Videos Online
Put another way, they are real morons if they think this practice sells anything.
I have a robust computer so that I can work, search and play on the Internet. More and more when I go to watch a linked video, usually from dinosaurs like ABCCBSNBC, I must first watch an ad. I can't skip the ad. I must let it play through before I can view what I came to see.
I immediately hit the back button and move on to another item.
They've got their free market and I've got mine.

Same Old Crap: Sherrod Brown & Voinoch Part Of Pork Parade
Between these two porkers they stuffed 155 earmarks in the "Omnibus" budget bill.
Aren't elections great.
There are a ton of Republicans on the list.
The next election will be even greater and will empty the trough and the sty.
Maybe they need to earmark some money for hearing aides. They can't hear. They sure as hell don't need glasses. None of them even read the crap they vote on.

If Charlie Crist is a Republican then Madonna really is a virgin. Who could quibble that Michael "Mr Salt of the Earth" Bloomberg and Debbie "Cash for Clunkers" Stabenow are moderate? Poor Evan Bayh, always looking to fit in, but never liberal enough for his liberal friends.
Yeah, a party that refuses to say who is funding it is moderate. A party that includes disaffected Republican losers is moderate.

John Boehner speaks often of the American Dream and about his family and other families that have striven for it. His detractors laugh at his emotion about the subject and scoff at an "american dream" that only comes off the backs of others. They haven't lived it.
Another family lived the American Dream when a boy who would only grow to five foot tall, grew up in a fatherless home which was a cold water flat with a privy out back for all the residents and be the first in his family to finish high school. He went on to work his way through college and medical school and become a very successful doctor. Along the way he won the heart of a very smart and beautiful young lady who came from an old and good family. They had 6 children. Each child had to work starting at 14 and just like their parents each child had to give to the church and others in need. They understood the American Dream.
They would understand John Boehner.

Christian legend dictates that Jesus's great uncle, Joseph of Arimathea, came to Britain after the crucifixion 2,000 years ago bearing the Holy Grail - the cup used by Christ at the Last Supper.
He visited Glastonbury and thrust his staff into Wearyall Hill, just below the Tor, planting a seed for the original thorn tree.
Roundheads felled the tree during the English Civil War, when forces led by Oliver Cromwell (pictured) waged a vicious battle against the Crown.
However, locals salvaged the roots of the original tree, hiding it in secret locations around Glastonbury.
It was then replanted on the hill in 1951. Other cuttings were also grown and placed around the town - including its famous Glastonbury Abbey.
Experts had verified that the tree - known as the Crategus Monogyna Bi Flora - originated from the Middle East.
A sprig of holy thorns was taken from the Thorn tree by Glastonbury's St Johns Church on Wednesday and sent to the Queen.
The 100-year-old tradition will see the thorns sit on Her Majesty's dinner table on Christmas Day
I find it ironic that modern day vandals think they might justify an act such as this. An older vandal, Oliver Cromwell, believed he had reason too. I have a reason to find this interesting on many levels.
Many of my ancestors were thrown from England, exiled, by Cromwell and his Roundheads. Many lost all they owned and were sent to Barbados. From there they came to the colonies and family remaining in England that owned large parts of the Virginia Company fought a losing battle against Cromwell and other companies and lost their charter and much of their fortune.
They had the last laugh though as they prospered both financially and as individuals here in America. Cromwell's life became a caricature as he wore purple robes with ermine linings emulating those he had fought, killed and executed. After death things got worse for Ollie.
There has long been a family story about an ancestor who traveled to England in January of 1661 for business and witnessed Cromwell's body disinterred and symbolically executed. Many, including me, have a birthday of January 30 which is the anniversary of his symbolic execution.
I pray the tree is born anew.

I once had my son do what he thought a simple (and stupid) project. One evening I gave him a new notebook of paper and some pencils. I explained that the next morning I would awaken him and he was to start filling the pages with things that he saw that were taxed.

The next morning, as promised, I woke him up, but I brought him some juice and cereal. I told him to enjoy his breakfast before he started logging in taxed objects.
As I left for work he had filled out two pages. By the end of the day he was tired, cranky and had a look that said, "Don't say I told you so." He had run out of pages, but he looked at me and said, "I know of something not taxed!

I handed him a copy of the EPA's rules, regulations and cost to the taxpayer and went and made a strong drink.
I didn't know if I had created a thoughtful conservative or a child hellbent on a life of crime. He's not in jail. Yet.

This boy's life is sad on so many levels. The Left's take on life is also sad and it is also ironic as they pounce on each other in a fight to be more politically correct without appearing to be so.

Entitled ‘7 Steps to Legal Revenge’, it explains how women can use courts to get their own back on unfaithful lovers.
Step 7 says: ‘Go to it and keep your goal in sight. Make sure your victim suffers just as you did.’
Both girls are furious at being hurt, Julian is mad about being outed and hurt, but none of the 3 are ashamed at the hurt and murder they have caused.
Now may we call this the case of the Leaky Leaker Weepy Over Leaky Lipped Lovers Not Murder & Mayhem?
