Those people offered their own alternate theories, which boiled down to:

• Smart people are almost always liberal
• Curiosity and interest in ideas is a liberal trait
• Conservatives are too rigid and authoritarian to maintain the open mind required of a professor
• Education erases false conservative ideas and turns people into liberals
• Conservatives don't want to be professors because they're more interested in something else (money, the military)
• Conservatives don't want to be professors because they're anti-intellectual
• Conservatives hold false beliefs that make them ineligible to be professors

Megan McArdle has had a very interesting couple of posts on bias as practiced by liberals. I have a large contingent of family members who are professors and I, because of my work, have spent a good amount of time guest speaking at high schools and colleges. The arrogance, especially ideological arrogance, is really quite astounding.

I was once informed that my speaking to a senior civics class was so Neanderthal-like that it took the teacher a week to undo the damage I had done. It seemed that some of the students had never heard that the Civil War was not, as they had been taught, really just the "war to free the slaves" nor was there a constitutional authority to create a hyper-equal citizen that should or does receive extra special consideration under the law.

The second time I spoke at that school other teachers attended the class I was speaking with to "correct" me when I spoke heretical thoughts. It was quite a lot of fun as they had no real basic knowledge of history, law and the constitution. They just had relative outta-be thoughts and their thoughts of what people such as the Founding Fathers were really thinking as they formed our nation (think the dead white rich guy scthtick). Now they just avoid me when I speak. Well, I should say mostly they avoid me because I have become friendly with some, who while still disagreeing with me, like to speak or debate with me outside of the classroom setting. We have fun and I have learned from them. I hope I have imparted so thoughts that they have thought more about.

McArdle focused on the academic world, but it made think of life in general and specifically politics. I believe her list of points could be a liberal list of what is wrong with conservative voters.

The True Character Of Hasan & Terrorists

Major Nidal Hasan wore the Caduceus, symbol of the Medical Corps, on his lapel. As a doctor, Hasan was to have spoken and lived by this oath, which is quoted in part below:

The media seems fixated on the "victim" meme, ignoring that the real victims were shot by Hasan. This same media ignores that besides the fact that Hasan did violence in the name of Allah, he also did violence against a sacred oath. Hasan decidedly violated one oath in which he would "do no harm" (not stated in the oath, but implied all through) to do great harm in the name of his religion against his oath as an officer of the United States military and his fellow man.

In his few moments of Islamofacist glory Hasan broke enough oaths to even make Allah doubt his veracity. There goes the whole 72 virgin offer.

Well, at least the heavenly offer, because it seems that the ever pious Hasan enjoyed the "pleasures of love" in strip joints just like the 9/11 murderers. Oops, another couple of oaths does the crapper.

Maybe right after prayers he was just unwinding from all the pressure of being a Muslim in America, from which a lap dance and a beer or two appears to relieve terrorists.

Demo's 'Tawdry' Attempt To Suppress Voters?

They do not want citizens speaking out against our current administration's program of government control of more and more of nongovernmental functions in our country. Socialism.

It appears rattled Democrats are now attempting to require attendees in their town hall meeting to show identification to prove they live in the Representative's district. Seems fair, even though it kinda screws that whole "free assembly" thing, but a Demo has to do what Demo has to do to get that message out through their press. People asking questions doesn't really look good on the evening news and so, now they're going to ensure voter integrity in their meetings.

About the Federal Election Integrity Act of 2006, requiring a free voter identification, Pelosi had this to say, "Integrity? It's not about integrity. It's about a tawdry attempt by Republicans to suppress the votes of millions of Americans." Tawdry indeed. Those wascally Wepublicans.

Many voices of the Obama administration claim that "unAmerican" Americans are flooding district constituent meetings to thwart any reform of our health care system which has been irreparably broken by greedy capitalists such as doctors, nurses, insurance companies, drug companies and stupid sick people. Ergo, they feel they must stop these unpatriotic interlopers by demanding proof that they actually live in the representative's meeting district.

Again, back in 2006, Sen. Mitch McConnell wanted to add a voter identification requirement to an immigration reform bill and a commenter at the Democrat Underground grandly summed up the feelings of Democrats concerning the issue, "I was watching all those traitorius Republicans vote to disenfranchise all the people who didn't go and get their picture taken for the ID card." Thank goodness those "UnAmerican" senators didn't get this "traitorous" amendment passed. Disenfranchisement of illegal voters is wrong, eh?

It is ironic that Demos feel that ensuring the integrity of their meetings is important, but the integrity of the vote isn't, isn't it? One could assume that it is about controlling the message, but it is really about controlling the vote whether in Peoria or Washington, DC.

Obama's Health Care Ain't So Healthy

And nor is our health system after 44 years of government help.

That is the way government help goes. Vibrant black communities such as Harlem were devastated by government help. With government help abortions have sky-rocketed, but they consider that a success. Communities seeking relief from inner city problems and hoping for regeneration were given Urban Renewal complete with the help of government sponsored architects and urban planners. Those cities are just now physically recovering from that help. The districts, such as San Francisco's Fillmore District, have been destroyed forever along with the communities that lived there, city cohesion and the jobs are lost forever. All in the name of government help.

Now Obama wants to 'help' us all some more, maybe kill us with the cure.

My family has been involved in medicine and health care for generations, but before my father died in 1967 he was glad that I would not continue that family practice. He told me that with the advent of government Medicare and Medicaid in 1965, medicine in America would see medical care go in the toilet and the costs go through the ceiling.

Health care costs since the federal government started helping us:

In 1965, $42.2 billion (or $187 billion in 2005 dollars) was spent on health care.

In 2006, national spending on health care reached $2.1 trillion (an increase of almost 97 percent over the past 10 years).

The current national health spending of $2.1 trillion accounts for 16 percent of the gross domestic product.

This trend in health spending is projected to continue, reaching $4.3 trillion in 2017.

A look at a doctor's office, as an example, in 1965 shows a far different look than today's modern office. A typical doctor in 1965 had a receptionist who also handled billing and follow up calls and a nurse who assisted the doctor who, if also a surgeon, saw a steady stream of patients after a morning of surgery and also had his office open on Saturday mornings.

Today, my doctor, who is excellent, has a large staff just to cover paper work for the government and insurance companies, which also have large staffs for CYA with the government, a hidden staff of over seers and lawyers to check on him and to protect him and an even larger unseen partner called the federal government which has made him rethink being a doctor. He is not alone.

And we want more government help for .......?

It is very apparent that the ever entertaining Bill Press attracts an audience how ever small it may be. That Stabenow chose his show is apparent as well. If the shock troops of liberalism don't sign up for Fairness Doctrine duty, it probably isn't going to happen.

O'DONNELL: Well, I want to play what she said yesterday. Because she did talk to reporters for about eight minutes. Specifically, it's the second sound bite we have here and it is about this dinner. Because she was asked if, in fact, she was heading to this dinner. And the reason it's interesting is because her staff denied to reporters, like myself, that she was actually going to this dinner. And then, she came out and revealed it. Listen to what she had to say about why she wanted to come here to Washington for this dinner.

PALIN: Alfalfa dinner, yes. In fact, that's because President Obama is scheduled to be there. And how often will I have an opportunity to have dinner with the president. I will take up that offer to do so, yeah.

O'DONNELL: Morris, didn't she call him a terrorist on the campaign trail?

MORRIS REID: Well, I think she called him a terrorist among other things. But listen, the woman's hungry. She's got to eat, Norah. We got to feed the woman, don't we.

So she is doing a little bit of courting. Many people think that could mean she's gearing up for 2012.

Now, NoraO'Donnell has never been described as the sharpest tool in the shed, but she has to be the only person in DC that didn''t know that Palin was going to the Alfalfa Dinner. That she, Reid and what'shisname got a good chuckle repeating lies about Gov Palin is only indicative of just how brown their noses are. I'd recommend to them that in polite company that they use a Depends as a face mask so as not to offend anyone more than they already do.
