As president of all Americans Obama has decided to emphatically side with his base, the unions, who poured hundreds of millions of dollars into his election. This not just purely partisan, but part of larger plan to fundamentally change America, how it is governed and how our society works.

Unfortunately, most people are not surprised that Obama and Pelosi are finally going public with their bi-partisan leadership. After two years of unpopular leadership and legislation voters have become aware of what they elected and now reject this brand of 'change.'

Socialists Want WI Gov Walker Removed By Whatever Means Necessary

They perpetuate the lie that Gov Walker gave millions of dollars to the wealthy. They say the struggle will sweep across the nation. Walker has asked the unions to pay up to 5.8% toward their pensions and up to 12% for their health care benefits. They believe that unlike other people they shouldn't have to pay into their pensions and health benefits. Their math doesn't add up. Not even close.

They say they will remove Gov. Walker and if they have to physically do so that's just fine.

The Socialist Party has a long, violent and sordid history in Wisconsin. The current protesters would make Victor Berger proud. Today's Socialist Party is very involved with the protests in Wisconsin and Ohio and are planning more actions in other cities and states.

They see it as the sparking point to spread across America to tear down our government and our form of government. They are not joking. They are deadly serious.

National Guard May Deploy as Socialists, Unions Wreak Havoc in Wisconsin

The rabid activists swarming the capitol in Madison were caught vandalizing property, distributing subversive literature, putting fear into innocents, pounding on legislators’ doors and windows, shouting, and furiously banging drums, according to witnesses. Some of the protestors were videotaped carrying signs comparing Governor Walker to Hitler, Mussolini, and deposed Egyptian despot Hosni Mubarak. Other more violent placards featured him with gun crosshairs trained on his face. One sign likened budget cuts to rape. And the mob left behind mountains of trash in its wake.

Among the flyers being distributed was one from the World Socialist website entitled “Unite workers and youth to defeat Wisconsin budget cuts.” Produced by the Socialist Equality Party and International Students for Social Equality, the document urged protestors to use the demonstration in Wisconsin as “the starting point for a mass movement.”

Claiming that the “economic and political system has failed,” the groups exhorted demonstrators to reject both parties, create “independent” committees of students and workers, nationalize corporations, seize the wealth, and usher in socialism. “The capitalist system has failed and must be replaced with a new type of society based on social need,” the flyer stated, promoting the transformation of businesses into “publicly owned and democratically controlled entities.”

Another flyer from the protests obtained by The New American, headlined “Collective Bargaining is a MUST!” called for higher taxes on corporations and “the rich.” It proposed a series of new taxes and tax increases to balance the state budget, urging readers to visit socialistworker.org for more information and updates.

People who have been following the demonstrations closely reported that Madison was a chaotic scene. “The place is under siege by union thugs, rent-a-mobs, and high schools kids let out of school because the teachers have abandoned their posts,” explained The New American magazine’s Ann Shibler, who has received continuous updates on the protest as it developed from sources within the Capitol.
“That beautiful and recently restored building has been trashed. Bands of thugs are roaming the halls, blockading restrooms, stairwells, and elevators,” she said. “They scream and yell, bang drums, and run around with clenched fists, banging on the windows and doors of the locked legislators' offices.”
She also said students were being used for political purposes and that “thugs” had been bussed in from Illinois. “Keep in mind the majority of these thugs are teachers, who are teaching impressionable children,” she said, noting that Gov. Walker should have called in the National Guard already to prevent the “teachers’ union mobocracy” from overrunning the capitol. “I would also fire every teacher that abandoned their post over this across the state.”
A State Senate staff member reported similar lunacy at the Capitol over the three days of protests. “The police have advised that we lock our doors,” said staffer Jolene Churchill in an e-mail Thursday. “Groups of young kids are marching through the halls yelling at the top of their lungs,” she explained, noting that drums were banging, restrooms and elevators were blockaded, and that there had been vandalism on Wednesday.
“Angry crowds are pounding on our glass windows,” she reported. “Please, please pray for our state.”
Despite the fear, chaos and damage they inflicted, organizers and protest leaders were quite happy with the demonstrations. “I have never been prouder of our movement than I am at this moment,” Wisconsin AFL-CIO President Phil Neuenfeldt told the crowd.

Elizabeth Wrigley Field is a socialist resident student at UW-Madison and she appears to be one of the leaders of students at the forefront of the protests, violence and vandalism.

This is the face of those protesting in Wisconsin. This is the face of modern unions including public sector unions. This is about power and control not money. The union members make more money than those in the private sector and their benefits are unbelievable. So much so they are bankrupting the state and the nation.

Enough is enough. Their time is over because the people have had enough of them.

US To Rebuke Israel In UN Security Council

The United States flexes its power with all the strength of a 110 lb weakling that insists on remaining intellectually skinny. Yep, it’s getting sand kicked in its face. Every day. Every hour. And it has shrunk even more to like it better.

A new bully has arisen in the schoolyard who is bullying, as a bully is want to do, the different kid in school. So, the US surmises that it really, really wants to be friends with the new bully because of what it learned in his new multiculturalism classes and also because he’s scared. He knows the bully is just a misunderstood kid. Loud, obnoxious and not quite right in the head, but really, just misunderstood. He also thinks that the bully is just begging for attention.

The US formulates a plan. His family, his advisors and others tell him not to do it, but his teachers and the principle applaud him and give him little gold stars on the bulletin board in the hall for all to see. He is so blinded by pride that he doesn’t see the other kids laughing at him.

The little boy called US wants to help the other students understand that the bully is good underneath, though scared himself of the bully, and that the different student is really at fault for standing up to the bully because he is only making the bully more so. It is the different student’s fault because he won’t understand that we are really all alike. US decides to hit a home run to settle this because he is fearful in his little heart that it may get worse out then in the play yard, in the halls and in the classroom if he doesn’t find a really cool compromise.

He decides to confront the different student with the possibility of becoming an outcast. He says that if the different student doesn’t come to understand that his belligerence in wanting to be not bullied is only making the bully stronger then he, the US student, will have to make a stand to force the different student to compromise, if only to protect the different student .

After speaking with his teachers, his principle and the counselors from the district multiculturalism council the kid US confronts the different student by siding with the bully over whether the bully has a right to call the different student names because the bully wants the different student’s locker. He proudly sides with the bully, if only to protect the different student from even worse abuse and bullying.

When the different student laughs at the boy US and the bully and walks away, the little boy US shakes his head and proclaims he has done all that can be done to protect the different student and that he really, really hopes that things could be changed.

The bully is outraged. He yells that he tried to get along; he cries that people misunderstand him and he throws things and screams that he has rights. The teachers comfort the bully and the principle calls the different student to the office. The different student calmly listens to the principle and when he is finished the different student explains his point of view to the principle. He explains that he had the right to his locker because the principle and the school had assigned him that locker. He further states that ethically he cannot accept bullying because his parents had been bullied, his grandparents had been bullied and, in fact, his ancestors through time had been bullied and that taught him that the bullying had to stop here.

The principle, standing with the little peacemaker boy called US, called all the teachers and counselors into the great assembly hall to announce that they had to come to a resolution to the problem. The different student would not only relinquish his locker, he would also give his seat on student council and his place on the honor roll to the bully and he, the different student, would publically apologize to the bully, the entire student body and the community for supporting hatred and for fomenting injustice.

The teachers, the bully, the counselors and the principle beamed with the satisfaction of knowing that their cool heads had averted an explosive situation. The school became a model of multiculturalism to guide other schools to what they must do.

The different student gave up his seat on the student council and so did other students. The different student handed over his place on the honor roll to the bully and students saw that the honor roll was no longer something to aspire to. He gave the key to his locker to the principle and other students decided that they no longer needed their lockers. The different student sent a note to his public apology ceremony stating that he meant only to stand up for his rights and that he hadn’t intended to offend the good people of the community. Then he transferred to another school.

The little boy US became editor of the school paper and valedictorian of his class. US started having lunch with the principle, teachers and the bully though each day the bully grew larger as he consumed more and more of their lunch. During these lunches the bully brought up how unfair the curriculum was to bullies everywhere and how it might cause further unrest if the curriculum wasn’t changed. In their wisdom, the teachers, the principle, the counselors and the little boy US decided that the student body and the community would be better served if the bully's changes were implemented.

Soon, the school name was changed to Bully High School, the curriculum represented the bully's view of the world and students drifted off to other schools and talked about the different student and his stand. The little boy US grew up to be the little man US and for a time made his way as a peacemaker. The bully grew fat and powerful and even more arrogant in his bullish stupidity. He was still always angry, but he became the principle finally. The school reflected him.

That’s how a 110 lb weakling negotiates from weakness.

What Does Bias Look Like?

Those people offered their own alternate theories, which boiled down to:

• Smart people are almost always liberal
• Curiosity and interest in ideas is a liberal trait
• Conservatives are too rigid and authoritarian to maintain the open mind required of a professor
• Education erases false conservative ideas and turns people into liberals
• Conservatives don't want to be professors because they're more interested in something else (money, the military)
• Conservatives don't want to be professors because they're anti-intellectual
• Conservatives hold false beliefs that make them ineligible to be professors

Megan McArdle has had a very interesting couple of posts on bias as practiced by liberals. I have a large contingent of family members who are professors and I, because of my work, have spent a good amount of time guest speaking at high schools and colleges. The arrogance, especially ideological arrogance, is really quite astounding.

I was once informed that my speaking to a senior civics class was so Neanderthal-like that it took the teacher a week to undo the damage I had done. It seemed that some of the students had never heard that the Civil War was not, as they had been taught, really just the "war to free the slaves" nor was there a constitutional authority to create a hyper-equal citizen that should or does receive extra special consideration under the law.

The second time I spoke at that school other teachers attended the class I was speaking with to "correct" me when I spoke heretical thoughts. It was quite a lot of fun as they had no real basic knowledge of history, law and the constitution. They just had relative outta-be thoughts and their thoughts of what people such as the Founding Fathers were really thinking as they formed our nation (think the dead white rich guy scthtick). Now they just avoid me when I speak. Well, I should say mostly they avoid me because I have become friendly with some, who while still disagreeing with me, like to speak or debate with me outside of the classroom setting. We have fun and I have learned from them. I hope I have imparted so thoughts that they have thought more about.

McArdle focused on the academic world, but it made think of life in general and specifically politics. I believe her list of points could be a liberal list of what is wrong with conservative voters.

Jerry Brown and Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.). One of those deeply involved is Averell “Ace” Smith — who ran Hillary Clinton’s successful 2008 California and Texas primary operations and is known as one of the more cutthroat political operatives in the business.

Dan Newman of SCN Strategies, one of the three people leading the anti-Issa campaign, declines to disclose how much is being spent on the effort or who is bankrolling it, telling POLITICO it is being paid for by “patriotic Americans who don’t want to see the potential of an ethically challenged congressional investigator run amok with McCarthyesque fishing expeditions.”

The structure of the organization does not require that it disclose its funding.

But the goal is clear: Newman, Smith and the third partner, Sean Clegg, want to raise enough questions about Issa’s background and personal history that anything he turns up in probes of the Obama administration will be immediately discredited.

It is time to find out who these people are, who they are connected to, who is funding them and to find out how many crimes they have committed.

For some reason we watched the Grammys this year. I watched to the very end. I had to. I was so horrified by what I saw and heard I had to watch.

Mubarak 'Hiding' Under Obama Bus

It is reported that Hosni Mubarak with step down from power in a recorded address to Egypt. The recording was supposedly recorded yesterday. Mubarak, it is reported, has been in negotiations for his removal. It is not being reported with whom Mubarak has been negotiating with.

After thirty years in partnership with the United States and Israel Mubarak has been prodded by the Obama administration to step aside. It appears that Obama has thrown Mubarak under the proverbial Obama bus, but it is also apparent that not only did Washington not see this coming, Washington and the administration have no idea what will happen in Egypt with the departure of Mubarak.

Once Mubarak steps down we will have to idly sit aside and watch whether it will be Islamofascists such as the Muslim Brotherhood, the military or pro-democracy forces that will take power. There is no other way to look at this than as a total failure by the Obama administration.

If the worst happens Israel will be the first to feel the wrath of this failure and then free nations around the world will have to brace for best trained and best equipped military in the Middle East to start making moves led by religious fanatics.

Why is it necessary to breast feed in public? It isn't. Why is it inappropriate to breast feed in public, especially in a museum on the National Mall? Because families, as in children, are in attendance and many people find it too personal and a form of public nudity. It is also inappropriate because there are perverts and voyeurs who will be titillated by such public events.

The people who made his book The Americans important were the people of my generation - the people who came of age in the late Sixties, that generation of people dealing with the Vietnam War and questions about the country. The book was a fractured view of the country. It addressed a lot of the obvious metaphors for what America was like, and turned them on end. I first saw that book when I came back from the South in the late Sixties, and I was pretty upset about the country. So then you see this photo book that reflects your emotions of the time, and it becomes a very important work to you. It felt very close to what you were experiencing. Later, you saw it as a remarkable personal expression. At first, the book was a combination of politics and art to me. That's what made it inspirational - that you could actually get your political feelings into pictures. I had been trying, and when I saw that book, I felt very much at home with the guy. Frank is very direct and not overly emotional, but a straightforward guy. He's right to the point. He takes life very seriously. He's low-key, kind of egoless, and very harsh at the same time. As for his other work, I've never been disappointed. I don't know how much of a weight that book is around his neck. Probably a lot. It's a book that rocks everybody.

Up until his death Reagan gave comfort to all, but the raging left and right of our political spectrum.

He’s back.

The 100th anniversary of Ronald Reagan’s birth is February 6. This anniversary has authors, writers, activists and any who have a political stake bringing up his name. The Gipper is back, for good and bad, for one more moment in the political discourse of the chattering class of our time.

Conservatives say, “if only he were here,” Liberals say, “if only he hadn’t,” and those in power imply, “if only you knew.” If only we knew just how much our current president is like Reagan, if only our president stopped acting like Reagan and if only our president thought like Reagan.

He never left.

As Craig Shirley, Reagan author/historian said of Reagan on Washington Post Live online;

As an historian, I focus on the facts. And the facts about Reagan make him one of America's four greatest presidents. Those who still oppose Reagan will use him to bolster their argument. Those who still support Reagan will use him to support their argument. Those desperate will use Reagan to compare or contrast themselves or their candidate to Reagan.

Mainly, there will people who will keep Reagan in their hearts as that to which America should strive to attain. It is comforting to do so.

Residential Architecture

I typed in "architectural residence" for images and below are the results. They were what I expected. I prefer more comforting environments, but I have spent a great deal of time in modern homes. Some have been stunning while some have just been cold. I found none of them warm.

The house I currently live in started as a one room structure that is now the living room. A half story second floor was then utilized with the addition of a steep staircase when needed and then other rooms. With the addition of the other rooms the owner at the time styled the structure into a simple rural gothic with arched windows in front, steep roof lines and gables. Later still one owner enclosed a two story rear porch for rooms, but forgot about a proper foundation and later still another owner enclosed an ill advised front porch into another room with no foundation at all.

The house has character. The faults are being fixed and the character retained.

Sarah Palin Rhetoric Responsible For Violence And Threats In Egypt.

I'm sure Dana Monte Milbank will want a piece of this, but really solid reporters are thinking that Sarah Palin's use of DNC imagery and dAilykoS rhetoric has caused this:

Mohammed ElBaradei has ordered Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak to leave the country by Friday – or he will be a “dead man walking” and not just a lame-duck president.

OMG. Dead man walking? The language! The thought! The threat must be right out of lesser people than the lefty Milbanks of the world.

I blame Sarah Palin for the thoughts that caused the words to come out of ElBaradei's mouth! Is there anything she can't do?

How Many Other Loyal Allies Will Obama Stab In The Back

I'm sure Hugo Chavez is safe from the Obama bus if Venezuela rises against him. I am also pretty sure that Jintao is safe if China rises up against him. To Obama that would be the diplomatic thing to do. Not so with Egypt's Mubarak. Obama is slowing twisting the knife in the back of a leader who has helped us and who has helped stabilize the Arab world and stood with us in the fight against Islamic terror.

Other allies are watching Obama closely because they now know that the loyalty they have shown us will not be repaid, at least not nearly as well as ingratitude.

Who will lead Egypt after Mubarak? Absolutely no one knows for sure and it is absolutely sure that the Obama team doesn't. I would probably take a bet against most of the Obama team being able to name the countries around Egypt. Denial may be a strong point for the Obama administration, but they probably don't get denile jokes.

Is Mubarak a good leader? No. Loyal, yes. Was there a better way to handle this? You betcha, Maybe Team Obama was blindsided, which is very believable, but their first reaction was to stab Mubarak in the back instead of their vaunted use of the crisis for something they want. What is it Obama wants?

Did Obama plan to send a message to unsavory leaders worldwide or just to those with whom we have influence? If so, forewarned is forearmed and those leaders may dig in for the expected traitorous behavior of a friend and make the situation even worse. Was that Obama's plan? To make things worse? Why?

Has Obama planned for the onslaught of friends and fellow terrorists allied with the Muslim Brotherhood that will try to take power as did Hamas and other groups that took over pro-democracy movements elsewhere? Did Obama even consider this scenario?

Lots of questions with really no information about the thought process, the goals or any future strategy and tactics that Team Obama will employ in the future  The only other question is how many other loyal allies will Obama stab in the back? Oh, one more, what will it cost America?

Obama To Push Gun Control

He purposely left any mention out of the SOTU preferring to speak of high speed trains and proposals of economic responsibility which will be the last we ever hear that.

Newsweek has this to say:

But throughout the hourlong speech, he never addressed the issue at the core of the Giffords tragedy—gun control—and what lawmakers would, or should, do to reform American firearm-access laws.

No, gun control is not the core issue. If they wanted to speak about a nut that was allowed to roam free even though authorities knew him to be dangerous as the core issue then they'd have a point. But nuts being confined doesn't fit the meme.

That was intentional, according to the White House. An administration official says Obama didn’t mention guns in his speech because of the omnipresent controversy surrounding the Second Amendment and gun control. Tuesday’s speech was designed to be more about the economy and how, as Obama repeated nine times, the U.S. could “win the future.”

But in the next two weeks, the White House will unveil a new gun-control effort in which it will urge Congress to strengthen current laws, which now allow some mentally unstable people, such as alleged Arizona shooter Jared Loughner, to obtain certain assault weapons, in some cases without even a background check.

Poor Rep. Giffords, a second amendment supporter, will once again be used by the Obama administration to further another goal. They want Obama's economic policy and his abysmal SOTU address off the front pages so they'll use Giffords to that end plus they can use the media to paint those opposing such gun control efforts as heartless and evil. Double win!

If they can chip away at the 2nd amendment, well, that's a bonus.

Classy bimbette Meghan  'Who the hell is Sarah Palin?' McCain says that Bachman is a poor man's Palin and if she thinks Palin is trailer trash, as she has implied, then what must she really think of Bachman?

Meghan states that Palin brought "drama, stress, complications, panic and loads of uncertainty" to her father's presidential campaign. Maybe the thought of one day getting all that beer money has clouded her thinking because Palin also brought a lot more votes to the ticket. Maybe she's just projecting about her Xanax problem. Talk about bringing stress to a campaign.

Rep. Bennie Thompson (D-Miss.), ranking member on the Homeland Security Committee, wrote:

We cannot cripple ourselves by ignoring the fact that terrorist activity knows no race, ethnicity or religion.

He was writing to say that there are other terrorist group and that House Homeland Security Committee Chairman Peter King (R-N.Y.)  should not focus on just Muslims. While there are obviously dangerous groups such as Lunatic Lutherans planning death to America I think their numbers and organization might not be up to par with Muslim jihadists though, if lutefisk sales start rising like the cost of oil, then we may have a problem, but I don't think King is focusing on just Muslims. He is focusing on them because they have been behind murder and death all over the world, but I'm thinking that there is general knowledge of other terrorists.

I don't know much about Bennie, but it appears that only MLK or Malcom X could beat him so his district is pretty safe for him. So safe he can play stupid and dangerous political games with the security of the United States of America.

I'd say that Bennie Thompson is the Olbermann of the week.
