We visited Vasto, Italy where my wife's family is from for a few days so she could share her history. The family is filled with relatives and their history there goes back before the written word.
The first thing I wanted to see was the "old" church where her grandparents had wed, but also to surprise my wife with some genealogical information. In one of those difficult verbal exchanges, made so by my inability to speak Italian, I was informed their was only the "new" church and it was pointed out to me.
I looked at a structure that in America would have been a national monument based strictly on its age, so I asked about the old church. I was informed that a Turkish (Muslim) fleet had ravaged the entire length of Italy on the Adriatic side. It was then that remembered history told me that the "new" church had been built in 1477 AD after Vasto was burned, looted and the people were left for dead..
I asked if the there had been other such invasions. The kind gentleman and his wife who was gently trying to get me to understand both smiled and she said, "No" translating for her husband. He got a very hard look in his face and spoke in the local dialect which the wife translated loosely as, "They come again, this we know, but this time we'll be ready."
That memory and this video reminds me that Islam is doing exactly what they have been instructed to do for centuries.

It's like something out of a Franz Kafka novel -- a city buys streetcars for $10 million, but has no tracks to run them.
Kafka was a famous Czech writer and the streetcars are in the Czech Republic. The city that bought the streetcars -- with no tracks -- is the District of Columbia.

D.C. Department of Transportation Director Emeka Moneme tells WTOP the holdup is tracks for the streetcars to run on. They have not been put down, and there is no current timetable for when those tracks will go down.
So, for the last 3 years DC's streetcars have been taken out for periodic spins in the Czech Republic because some genius bought them when they could not be used. That about sums up governance in DC. Oh, and when they do get around to putting in tracks, DC wants ridership to be free.

Why Illegal Immigration Needs To Be Stopped. Now.
It isn't just the smuggling of illegal aliens nor just the smuggling of illegal drugs, it is also the beatings, the rapes, the extortion of life savings and forced prostitution and that's just whats happening to Mexicans. American home and properties are being violated, by some accounts by Mexican military and police, and Americans are being robbed, raped, murdered and left for dead.
And who is it that wants this to continue or be codified into law? Hint, it's not Republicans.

It is time to start a systematic removal of illegal aliens from within the United States and to stop the flow at the borders. Finish the wall between Mexico and the United States, stop the teachings of a separatist South West by groups such as La Raza (in our schools!) and heavily fine those employers who employ illegal aliens. Otherwise the problem will continue to grow worse.
And who is it that wants this to continue or be codified into law? Hint, it's not Republicans.

Tucson native Linda Rondstadt said at a news conference that "Mexican-Americans are not going to take this lying down."
First, why are police officials in Phoenix taking the time to meet with a master crime fighter like Shakira? To gain her expertise? Maybe officials should look to the dignity of their citizens that need their help.

Using Illegal Aliens As A Political Prop II
Arizona passed a law to crack down on illegal immigrants that are flooding their borders, killing their citizens and draining their public and private coffers. Was it a good bill? I think so, but many conservatives disagree because they say conservatives will be portrayed as racists which fits the current liberal meme of any disagreement with Obama is rooted in racism. It's false, they know it, but hey, why let a crisis go to waste, eh? Besides, the left wants to win and they don't give a whit how they win.
This time around conservatives should force the debate. Arizona did us a favor by doing just that, forcing the debate, but now we need to base the debate in the law, economics and fairness. Yeah, I know fairness for hard working Americans is out of fashion, but isn't it time we bring it back?

Vacation In Arizona (Legally) Just To Hack Off Liberals
No matter how many times I see the Grand Canyon I am still in awe. I'm going back. Not down the face walls nor the Cathedral Stairs. Maybe just the bar at that fancy hotel El Tovar.
Maybe I'll go see the first really big telescope I got to look through, when it was still at Perkins Observatory in Delaware, Ohio, at Lowell Observatory. They have a pet named Pluto.
A favorite church of mine is Mission San Xavier del Bac, an architectural wonder built and decorated by native Indians for the founding missionaries. At the opposite end of that spectrum is Taliesin West built by Frank Loyld Wright who scammed non-paid students and admirers into doing his labor. Where Taliesin West has bad bones, San Xavier del Bac has the bones of saints.
The art galleries in Scottsdale are absolutely incredible. They broke my bank. Another good site is Yuma Crossing where they have a trading post, archealogical digs and, oh my, the old Arizona Territorial Prison.

Maybe they can reopen it.
You like castles? This one is a got to see, Montezuma Castle. Condos? White House, not the one in DC, has some seriously old condos, yeah, with a view. In fact, a really incredible view. Like ball court sports? One word, Snaketown.
Last stop would be the Sierra Bonita Ranch. Any ranch owned by a Hooker can't be all bad.
Arizona is fun. From the cold areas of the Grand Canyon and Flastaff all the way down to the furnace called southern Arizona.
With ObamaCare coming to a soon empty medical facility near you,you might be thinking about great dental care. It's right across the border in Nogales, Sonora, Mexico. Be sure to have your ID and necessary papers on you (and ready to present to authorities at any time) during your stay. Mexicans are funny about the legality of its visitors and immigrants.
In Mexico, illegal is illegal and if you're illegal, you're going to jail until they can transport your butt back across the border. From my experience, the jail time is necessary so one can arrange for a large sum of money to be wired to Mexican authorities to cover fines, incidentals and their hurt national pride that anyone would be in their country illegally. They're so hurt by that prospect that the army, regional authorities, immigration control and all police work in concert to enforce mexico's strict immigration laws.

Betrayal Again: Poland Mourned As Obama Played

In a show of solidarity with the brave Poles who defied first the communist leadership of the USSR and then authoritarian Russia under Putin and thenPutin Medvevev, President Obama decided to play golf as a diplomatic gesture to those mourning the national tradgedy of the loss of their president and much of his cabinet.
The Polish president was on his way to a memorial of the Katyn Forest massacre. Over 22,000 Polish doctors, lawyers, military, police and educators were systematically murdered by communist Russia during WWII. With the help of FDR, the Soviet Union attempted to blame Germany for the slaughter.
Putin made the effort to attend the funeral. Obama played golf.

Chris Matthews' Tingles Turn To Spasms
It is always fun to watch Chris Matthews. Not informative, but fun. As in funny.
This morning's show was especially funny as Joe Klein, Nora O'Donnell, Kathleen Parker and John Heilmann all stepped on each other to stigmatize Republicans and conservatives as nutty fringe haters willingly fomenting violence and government take over.
Joe, fondly remembering his anti-war protest days, even had a napkin with his notes on the meaning of sedition. Yep, we're all seditious.
Nora batted her eyes and restated firmly that she had, first hand, seen something and whatever it was, well, it was wrong.
Kathleen just looked sad. Weary work, reporting on those probably nice people in the Tea Party movement, but just like the Republicans, they have to divest themselves of the nutty fringe.
John, well, he probably spewed more spittle than Rep. Cleaver claimed hit him. Through his shower of indignation he did manage to bring up Waco, Ruby Ridge and all the other indicators of the current demise of the Republic, by the nutty fringe, including the Tea Party and all because our president is an African American. Did he mention that he is our first African American president? Yes, he is our first African American president and the extreme right, especially the surge of militias, hate the "change" in America, as witnessed by the election of our first African American president.
How new and un-American to have extremists on the right scream, "take our country back!" through their hatred of our first African American president. How ugly it has become that these extremists, nervous over the color change of our leadership (did you know he is our first African American president?), calling for more true representation by our representatives. (Please refer back to Joe's, he actually looked it up and took notes on his napkin in the Green Room, definition of sedition.)
As I watched I wondered how myopic these people are. Even as Joe fondly remembered his anti-war protest days, he spoke of the danger of the current protesters. That would be right wing protesters, not those lovable flower children that burned the ROTC building on my college campus as part of the protest movement that Joe fondly remembers.
I never heard any of the panel mention the eco terrorists that purposely maim loggers, the anarchists that mindlessly destroy property as they riot over perceived wrongs wrought upon them by the ruling government and I never heard from the panel about the infiltrators that attempted make Tea Party members appear, thus support Matthews gang thesis, as extreme right wing nuts.
Nora did look cute as she sat there. She was probably was going over her notes in her head that there was something out there that was wrong about these people. She knew it when she saw it, if only she could remember what it was. Maybe it was a black man who should've felt uncomfortable being a Tea Party member. I mean, shouldn't he have?

25 SEIU Protesters Arrested At OSU: "We're just trying to get some publicity, that's all."
About 25 protesters arrested after demonstration at Ohio State
A crowd of more than 100 protestors faced off against about 50 police officers yesterday afternoon at Ohio State University in an attempt to bring public awareness to the conditions of Sodexo food-workers at university sporting events.
A majority of OSU's food service stands at athletics events are staffed by volunteers, but Sodexo employs about 30 full-time workers and 100 seasonal employees, university spokesman Jim Lynch said in an e-mail.
It is nice that the union negotiated with the police so they wouldn't get charged with more serious crimes. It was also nice they could stand around and joke with the arresting police officers while handcuffed. That alone shows a real respect for the law.
It goes without saying that it was very nice that the SEIU members didn't find an old person to beat up and then run away before being arrested.
Maybe someone could just offer them a nice cup of tea the next time they want to disrupt and disobey for some cheap publicity.

State taking risk by asking for rail study
Gov. Ted Strickland's administration will risk political defeat next week when it asks skeptical lawmakers to approve a $25 million study of passenger rail service linking Ohio's major cities, the state transportation director said yesterday.
On Wednesday, Rep. Jay Hottinger, a Newark Republican who sits on the Controlling Board, urged in a letter to Jolene Molitoris, the state transportation director, to hold off on the study. Moving forward now with a party-line vote would "poison the well for future discussion" and endanger the possibility of five votes for future expenditures, Hottinger wrote.
We, the voter, would ask our representatives to vote against this study, the train and any idea of the state taking on the cost, the responsibilties and further invasion into private commerce.
Strickland's train is a losing idea that is costly and will not meet the estimates of ridership because the train cannot rise to the expectations of a government that first praises what it wants and then condemns others when it fails.
Keep up the good work Jay. Stop the spending. Stop the taxing. Stop the government from getting any fatter off our dime.

What if each and every voter needed to show proof that they had gone through the tax process to vote in general elections.
To vote, voters would have to show their tax filing documents to cast a ballot.

The Progressive's Racist Roots
The height of the Progressive movement, 18902 - 1920s, was a racist movement that wanted government to be all things except for blacks, asians and other none-whites in America as exhibited by Samuel Gompers, president and socialist of the AFL, statement that Philipinos were a "semi-savage population."
The Progressive movement was an idealized world built for whites and excluded non-whites as part of their plan. Jim Crow laws, segregation and lynching were taught in universities, hand-in-hand with courses of study that attacked capitalism, as the answer to "scientific studies", including eugenics, that showed non-whites to be inferior.
Progressive President Woodrow Wilson was proud to be quoted in D. W. Griffith's The Birth of a Nation, in fact so proud that he had a private presidential showing of The Birth of a Nation in the White House. The film, and Wilson's support, reinvigorated a waning KKK into a national force (Indiana was home to the largest Klan) and many quoted Wilson when expressing the need of progressive policies to stop, not just the south, but the nation from being, “ruled by an ignorant and inferior race.”
One of the pinnacles of Progressive racism was Plessy v. Ferguson (1896), segregation in public accommodations so long as “separate but equal” facilities were given to non-whites, heralding laws throughout the country passed by Progressive legislatures that segregated blacks in every way possible from buses to beaches, train depots to drinking fountains. Benjamin “Pitchfork” Tillman, a leading Southern Progressive stated that, “When you educate a negro, you educate a candidate for the penitentiary or spoil a good field hand.”

New Hampshire Democrats are engaged in a statewide search for liberal activists willing to attend so-called tea parties on Thursday and carry signs expressing racist or fringe sentiments, a Democratic source with knowledge of the effort tells NowHampshire.com.
According to the source, who sought anonymity for fear of reprisals, the Dems’ last minute scramble reflects a growing obsession among party leaders that they need to discredit the tea party movement soon or it will overwhelm them come the November election.
Former Democratic State Party Chairman Kathy Sullivan is heading up the search, the source said. Sullivan has been calling and e-mailing liberal activists trying to get them to attend tea parties in different parts of the state and hold signs denying the authenticity of President Barack Obama’s birth certificate and make racially disparaging comments to reporters.
“This is Kathy’s [Sullivan] project,” the source told NowHampshire.com. “She is absolutely obsessed with painting the tea party people as racists.”
Similar “crash the tea party” efforts are taking place throughout the country on Tax Day.
A sister who lives in New Hampshire says that Sullivan is well known for not being "all there in the head" and an embarrassment even to Democrats.

Two people at the Brennan’s event have now confirmed that the protest had largely broken up by the time it ended, but we also understand from someone who visited Allee Bautsch in the hospital Saturday morning that she and Brown were followed and attacked expressly because they had Palin pins on (she heard one of the attackers say “Let’s get them, they have Palin pins on” – so the attack WAS politically motivated as its victims understood it. It was not a mugging, it was not an argument gone wrong and it was not a bar fight.
The media and lefts, but I repeat myself, all got the memo that anyone opposing Obama or the Democrat Party's agenda are to be portrayed as racist and violent and that is what is being said and reported if these orchestrated incidents are mentioned at all.
