President Says Stimulus Plan Needed to Avoid 'National Catastrophe'...
Let's see. The President has never had a real job. The Congressional leadership brings many dittos to the aformentioned. The writers of the plan get sweetheart deals because of their positions, denied that Freddy Mac & Fannie Mae were in trouble or are under investigation for corruption. Uh-uh, no potential for catastrophe with this mix.
If Arlen Specter or any other Republican vote for this catastrophe they are dumber than a box of rocks and are in no way a Republican.

Sometimes a President Is Just a President
Many women — not too surprisingly — were dreaming about sex with the president. In these dreams, the women replaced Michelle with greater or lesser guilt or, in the case of a 62-year-old woman in North Florida, whose dream was reported to me by her daughter, found a fully above-board solution: “Michelle had divorced Barack because he had become ‘too much of a star.’ He then married my mother, who was oh so proud to be the first lady,” the daughter wrote me.
This is why I have never run for president. I'd hate to disappoint or cause feelings of guilt to so many women.
This is also why I no longer read the New York Times. It is chock full of crap.

Is The Democrat Left Terrified Of Limbaugh?
Yes.
I was informed by a Democrat blogger that she didn't cut and paste. I think she does, but whatever. It is so obvious when bloggers from small, medium and large towns, the DNC, all the Demo 527s, Democrats in Congress and all the way up to the President start attacking a guy, that has been around for years, all at the same time and with the same rhetoric. Actually, it's funny in a poorly laid astro turfing kind of way.
So, in an effort to assist them in their hilarity I offer some stories they may want to cut and paste from if they haven't already.

Now, whether it’s called the Fairness Standard, whether it’s called something else — I absolutely think it’s time to be bringing accountability to the airwaves. I mean, our new president has talked rightly about accountability and transparency. You know, that we all have to step up and be responsible. And, I think in this case, there needs to be some accountability and standards put in place.
BILL PRESS: Can we count on you to push for some hearings in the United States Senate this year, to bring these owners in and hold them accountable?
SENATOR DEBBIE STABENOW (D-MI): I have already had some discussions with colleagues and, you know, I feel like that’s gonna happen. Yep.
It is very apparent that the ever entertaining Bill Press attracts an audience how ever small it may be. That Stabenow chose his show is apparent as well. If the shock troops of liberalism don't sign up for Fairness Doctrine duty, it probably isn't going to happen.
Question; Do Bill Press and Phil Donahue share a secret daddy? Or, are they really the same person with different wives and different glasses?

Joel Meyerowitz
Joel Meyerowitz - Bio - He was born in 1938 in New York City and graduated from Ohio State in 1959 with a degree in painting and medical illustration. He began photographing in 1962. He follows a street style photography describing his influences as from Cartier-Bresson and Robert Frank, yet he uses a large-format 8x10 camera. He shot with the equipment (thus styling) of landscape photographers, yet with street, intimate subjects. He was instrumental, along with Eggleston, in promoting the acceptance of color photography in the art community. He has a masterful control of color, and has published many books of his prints. Included in these is his first book 'Cape Light' that is considered a classic on the subject matter. Notably among his recent work is his images documenting the aftermath of the attacks on the World Trade Center in 2001. He was the singular photographer granted unrestricted access to the area surrounding ground zero immediately after the attack.
Most Braindead Drivel Of The Week
Most. Quite a word, especially in light of the cluelessness going on in the White House, the criminal activities being uncovered in confirmation hearings and the bribery-blackmail-payola legislation being spewed in Congress, but 'most' is appropriate here.
From an Ohio blogger who tends to view things from a dark corner of his mind we have:
America is living through the final manifestation of every Republican idea Republicans have ever wanted to implement. They got it all - not one item on the Republican wish list has gone undone. Not one.
And it is a spectacular, total failure.
Tens of thousands of people lose their jobs every single week as a result of Republican ideology. Every 401(k) in the country is gutted because of Republican policy. Every bank in the country is teetering on collapse because of Republican philosophy. Every homeowner in the country has lost tens of thousands of dollars in value in their largest investment because of Republican dogma. Millions of homeowners have lost their home because of Republican lack of oversight.
We are living the dream Republicans have dreamt of for decades. Only one problem - it’s a nightmare.
Every word a delight to those who refuse to learn history or to understand current events and refuse to look in the mirror. It scares them. Their paltry faith in the beliefs they call their own, which they have combed from who knows where, is so fragile that they must blame everything on their opponents, both real and imagined.
Their wrath and righteous indignation spews from their keyboards, as if they stand in our rooms and offices, to create a windmill tilting clarion call for justice.
Well, I have news for the disenfranchised who for eight years called our president names to humiliate him and to make themselves feel important. You're still disenfranchised.
The world didn't care then and doesn't care now to listen to ranting made only to alleviate the ranter. Even the conservative member of politics knows that our Republican form of government is one of compromise.
Our side of the aisle knows full well that Republicans in Congress represented us poorly as they acted like they owned their jobs, could spend our money freely and many Republicans knowing that, just stayed home this last election and the one before it.
The policies that grew the greatest prosperity in modern times came from luminaries in our political system, not gutter snipers that belly ached that even in success, such as almost full employment, that it came on the backs of those that didn't work.
This, then, is the "total failure" of Republican policy. That now greed is being punished and businesses' suffer from policies pushed, unfortunately, by both parties is not a total failure of Republican policy, it is the result of governmental folly that it knows enough of business to tell business how to do business. Governments know as much of social justice as a watch knows about time. Both are merely mechanisms and when they are used to go beyond their mechanical abilities, they cause failure.
So, rant on about your imagined nightmares from a mind not fully occupied. Politics is a passionate endeavor, but a hard nosed one as well. Rants of bravado may have a place on the field of battle, the sports arena and the political rally/protest, but it is generally a nuisance to those trying to do the business of governing.

Solis Senate Session Postponed in Wake of Husband's Tax Lien Revelations
A Senate committee today abruptly canceled a session to consider President Obama's nomination of Rep. Hilda Solis to be labor secretary in the wake of a report saying that her husband yesterday paid about $6,400 to settle tax liens against his business -- including liens that had been outstanding for as long as 16 years.
The report, by USA Today, came just before the Senate's Health Education Labor and Pensions Committee was slated to meet to consider Solis's nomination, which had been delayed by questions over her role on the board of the pro-labor organization American Rights at Work. A source said that committee members did not learn about the tax issue until today.
I think we should all pitch in to buy and send a copy of Turbo Tax to the White House. It couldn't hurt.

Watchdog: Treasury overpaid for bank stocks
A government watchdog group says the federal government overpaid for stocks and other assets from financial institutions under its $700 billion rescue program.
The chairwoman of the Congressional Oversight Panel for the bailout funds told the Senate Banking committee Thursday that Treasury in 2008 paid $254 billion and received assets worth about $176 billion.
The figures were reached by extrapolating the results of a study of 10 government transactions.
They haven't cleaned up the last mess and right now 16 senators are closeted behind closed doors, where voters can't see or hear what they're doing, deciding how to spend the next trillion dollars. And because it is so important and needs so much consideration and thought, they want to pass the 'stimulus' package by tonight. Fast thinkers, they. Faster talkers.
Way to go Congress. You are hellbent on screwing up big time.

Obama Admin: Get ready, $4 Gas Will Be Cheap!
You may not be able to save your job or your house, but you'll be saving Mother Earth! At least that is what you are being told.
Drilling here and drilling now will create more jobs that any stimulus plan coming of of the District of Calamity. We won't see any new jobs in our energy sector unless we count the paper jobs of the green movement.
Will different forms of energy that pollute less be created? Yep, you bet, but will government create them? Nope, you can bet on that too. To continue to destroy petroleum based energy at this point is to help destroy our economy.
Via Gateway Pundit: Barack Obama's Interior Secretary Ken Salazar cancelled oil and gas leases on 77 parcels of land in Utah. This will most likely end the possibility of any drilling and hope for any income or new jobs in the area.Rather than develop domestic resources of energy here at home, the Obama Administration just cancelled development of oil and gas reserves in Utah.
The problems with "new energy" are momentous and will not be solved in the near future.
If Obama wants to create real change, he could stop the government from being hijacked by enviro-mental wack job groups as a start to get our country moving again.
On the other hand, maybe Obama is beholding to the groups that started this hysteria in the first place for his election. That would be more likely.

Obama Liberal Building Federal Winchester House
The work never stops. The workers never grumble because the money is great, they just keep hammering and never ask any questions. They build stairs to nowhere. The put in doors that open to a neck breaking drop. There is no master plan outside of never stop building. Money doesn't matter. Guilt builds this house. Guilt from people never known, but the guilt of others drives a structure costing huge amounts of money to build a structure that is utterly useless except to assuage the guilt and be a monument to stupidity that others can gawk at.
The useless stairs might have a simple explanation; the stairs were likely a part of the original house that Mrs. Winchester bought, and when she started adding on to the home, she covered up the stairs. Whether it was accidentally or on purpose, Mrs. Winchester usually covered up her mistakes by just continuing to build around them. Because she had no master plan for the house, her architectural ideas didn't always work out. Since she had no deadline for completion, she'd either tear down the mistake or cover it up with something else.
Tall towers that look good, to some, but have no use other than to delight those that would never see the mess hidden by brick-a-brack and other eye candy..
Rooms that went on and on, some which a visitor might not know how to get out of, while others seemed to have no purpose.

The Winchester House, built ceaselessly by money others made, but expended for guilt, is the perfect example of government spending that few really understand, never think that they will bear the cost of and often only benefits those that work in the echoing halls as mere bureaucrats, legislative carpenters, and seldom helps those it is purported to be built for.

Obama is just a new chapter in the age old fairy tale that government is 'change' that will help ordinary citizens. This change is just selfishness by those practicing it with other people's money.

As with most addictions, like blue dress babies in the Oval Office, Obama could just not wait to get his fix. And I am not talking about smoking in the boys room even though I'd bet dollars to doughnuts that boy could hot box a butt in one drag.

Yet one of Obama's campaign promises -- the "Sunlight Before Signing" pledge -- was that he would not sign any non-emergency bills without offering the public five days to review and comment on the legislation.
Just tell the children that the addictions of others will pay for them. Isn't that like the drug dealer on the corner who justifies his trade by saying that the people need it and he's just filling a need?. Now there's a message we should all give our kids. What's next, government pimping to stop global warming?

The Feds $26.8 million Bribe For Ohio - Seatbelts
The nanny state continues to grow. Each year the federal government offers bribes to states to do as the fed tells them and this year it is that all Ohioans must wear seat belts or the cash poor state of Ohio won't get the big bucks.
Cash-strapped states mull seat belt law changes
Drivers better buckle up or pay the price: More cash-strapped states want to give law enforcement officers the authority to pull over motorists just for not wearing their seat belts.
More than a dozen states that are considering making the switch to primary seat-belt enforcement laws need to do so before July to be eligible for millions in federal money.
One of those states is Ohio, which would get $26.8 million if it changes its law. Currently, officers in the state must first have some other reason to stop drivers over before issuing seat-belt citations.
States without primary seat-belt enforcement that want the federal money must pass a bill and have it signed by the governor by June 30 - and begin issuing citations by Sept. 30 - to qualify for federal funds, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. The federal money attached to seat-belt enforcement can only be spent for highway-related projects.

Still, the proposed change faces obstacles in states like Ohio, where many Republicans - who control the Senate - oppose it because of libertarian philosophies.
"People ought to be able to decide whether they want to drive 75 mph without their belt on," said House Minority Leader Bill Batchelder, a Republican from Medina.
And some lawmakers are hesitant to hand police more authority to stop motorists, believing that would lead to violations of Fourth Amendment protections against illegal search and seizure, Batchelder said.
It is nice to hear the new Minority Leader in the House speak as a Republican should. The fact that he is a conservative makes it even better.

The 647-page bill was introduced by Rep. David Obey, D-Wisc., as well as Reps. Charlie Rangel, D-N.Y., Henry Waxman, D-Calif., and Barney Frank, D-Mass., among others.
The bill, as odious as it is, seems to be just a start for the seemingly never ending power of the government to take over business and every other part of our country. Now, our glorious leader, hot off his nominee successes and standing next to tax genius, Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner, stomped his foot, held his breath and announced what he will and will not allow:
"For top executives to award themselves these kinds of compensation packages in the midst of this economic crisis isn't just bad taste. It's bad strategy. And I will not tolerate it as president," he said.
How special. He will not tolerate it. He knows more about business than anyone else in the world and he will not tolerate it. What a special moment for all the self-righteous know-it-all wanna-be bureaucratic nannies of the world. Ah, if he were only emperor....

Daschle Out: Obama Bus Carnage Grows
Posting a catcher with a big mitt under the bus is now standard practice in this administration to handle those thrown under the bus by Obama. Daschle is said to have decided on his own. So did Richardson. So did Nancy Killefer. Oh never mind, you get the drift, don't you grandmother.
Maybe it's time to simplify our tax code such as cutting the amount and type of taxes in place at the IRS.
Maybe the Democrats will just start holding tax classes for their candidates and nominees. After all, they are the party of taxation.
UPDATE: Gibbs just said that the Obama administration has set the ethics bar higher than any other administration. Yep, at just the right height to knee-cap their own people.

Tax evasion? It wasn't enough to derail Timothy Geithner's appointment to run the Treasury Department, including the Internal Revenue Service. Didn't pay $43,000 in federal taxes? Sorry, honest mistake, he said.

Somehow I think they might appear a tad disingenuous if they do not, hot on this fabulous victory for them, demand the same transparency, say, about all those unrecorded and prepaid credit card donors to the Obama campaign and also demand that all those liberal 527s cough up their donor lists as well.
Their response will be sadly predictable.

Daschle’s accountant decided in December that Daschle’s tax returns had to reflect use of the car, after the presidential vetting team raised the question of whether certain charitable donations were deductible, Daschle wrote in the letter.
‘Imputed’ Income
Daschle also hadn’t reported a May 2007 consulting payment of $83,333 from InterMedia, which paid him that amount each month. The tax forms provided to Daschle by InterMedia for 2007 didn’t include the payment because the money was transferred by a different method that month by a temporary clerk, InterMedia officials told the committee.
