Virginia Tech: Is the Scene of the Crime the Cause of the Crime?

Media: Cho Seung-Hui did it because he was crazy and "evil." History:
Schoolyard massacres are rebellions against oppressive and bullying environments
by students who can't take it anymore.

Another rampage massacre, this time the worst ever. Which means another
fake attempt at trying to understand this uniquely American crime -- these
interminable rage killing sprees in our workplaces and our schoolyards.

What makes the Virginia Tech massacre more horrifying isn't just the body count but the reaction of the living: The official fake soul-searching is more idiotic
than ever, revealing, if anything, a culture that is so insanely delusional and
incapable of self-reflection that it almost makes these rampage massacres seem
relatively natural.

The footage from Seung-Hui's "media manifesto" has played on
cable news on an endless loop for days now, and no one has considered the merits
of his grievances -- except to cast them as proof positive that Cho Seung-Hui
was one sick guy.

Of all the idiotic reactions, so far none tops an article posted on MSNBC.com, written
by an "investigative reporter" with the ill-begotten name of "Bill Dedman."
His investigation allegedly revealed that Cho Seung-Hui, the shooter, displayed
alleged classic warning signs of a rampage shooting. Citing a landmark Secret
Service study of schoolyard rampage massacre, Dedman observed, "In more than
three out of four school shootings, the attacker had made no threat against the
schoolteachers or students. But most attackers engaged in some behavior prior to
the incident that caused others concern or indicated a need for help. The
attackers posed a threat even though they hadn't made a threat."

In other words, if you think someone's weird, but he hasn't threatened anyone, he's a threat.

The war in Iraq "is lost" and a US troop surge is failing to bring
peace to the country, the leader of the Democratic majority in the US Congress,
Harry Reid, said Thursday.

"I believe ... that this war is lost, and this surge is not accomplishing anything, as is shown by the extreme violence in Iraq this week," Reid said, on the same day US President George W. Bush was giving a speech at an Ohio town hall meeting defending the war on terror.

The right to impeach public officials is secured by the U.S. Constitution in Article I, Sections 2 and 3, which discuss the procedure, and in Article II, Section 4, which indicates the grounds for impeachment: "the President, Vice President, and all civil officers of the United States shall be removed from office on impeachment for, and conviction of, treason, bribery, or other high crimes and misdemeanors."

Possibly, a better form of impeachment might be giving soldier's families, relatives of Iraqi's killed by the terrorists, and those trying to ensure Iraq's future 30 minutes in a locked room with Senator Harry Reid. Alone. No press. Leaving only a video to show to Nancy Pelosi, Schumer, et al.

Blame Charlton Heston

broadcaster NTV flashed an image of the former head of the National Rifle Association, the US gun lobby: In other words, blame rifle-wielding Charlton Heston for the 33 dead.

I also blame the European press, through their refusal to see truths and their pathetic proselytizing to murderous thugs and terrorists world-wide, for some of the worst wholesale slaughters in history. Here's a short list of other things, using their logic of blame, that they are guilty of:

But, then, the European Press wouldn't know the truth or the facts if they got bit in the butt by them. They can pick on a man who can't defend himself. How typical. Cowards.

2006 Election - Was it really about Iraq?

As Ohio (State) goes, so goes the nation.

Levin, Schumer, Pelosi, Murtha, Reid and even crazy little Kucinich all proclaim the same; the 2006 election was about getting out of Iraq. Election rehashes about corruption, incompetence, and spending occur only when it suits their de jour agenda talking points.

Was the 2006 election decided by Iraq?

I do not think so. The very large number of Republicans across the country that I speak with do not believe that Iraq was the deciding factor.

The 2006 election was decided by Republicans who decided that elected Republicans had involved into corrupt fat cat and big spending Democrats. Thus republicans did not donate what they could have. Republicans did not volunteer, did not network nor did they do the things necessary to win in a media driven Liberal environment.

Republicans did not have the deciding factor — "fire in the gut".

Did Democrats have “fire in the gut” as they went to the polls? No, they did not, at least as a whole. The average Democratic voter wouldn’t vote for a Conservative for a simple reason, they think Conservatives are as crazy as left wing nuts are, but those left wing nuts are their left wing nuts, so they have to accept them.

Republicans lost because voters didn’t see that many Republicans running. They saw self-satisfied DC politicians listed on their ballot.

I know that people will point to exit polls which listed Iraq as #3 in terms of their voting priority, but exit polls are good TV and lousy politics. People will also bring up all the pollsters and their polls; Rasmussen, Finklestein, TeleOpinion, Gallup, Zogby, Mason-Dixon, Harris, Pew, USA, ABC, Washington Post and on and on. Polls are like batty aunts in so many ways, but basically everyone seems to have one.

Now, months later as the Democratic leaders and the media are trying to demean Bush, Levin, Schumer, Pelosi, Murtha, Reid and even crazy little Kucinich all proclaim the same; the 2006 election was about getting out of Iraq and everyone takes their statements at face value, including Republicans, as the truth.

The voters did not vote in the Democrats because of the Iraq war. The Democrats did not win because of Republican corruption, the economy, jobless statistics, nor taxation.

The much vaunted Republican powerhouse lost because not only did their fans not show up, the real Republicans players did not show up.

In short, the Republicans beat themselves. Not Iraq. Nor Florida.

Local al-Qaida bomb suspect appears in court
Christopher Paul, 43, is charged with conspiring to support terrorists,
conspiring to use a weapon of mass destruction and providing support to
terrorists.

Yesterday's arrest was the culmination of a four-year,
eight-country investigation of Paul, said Tim Murphy, special agent in charge of
the FBI's Cincinnati office, which oversees Columbus.

Paul is the third man from central Ohio to be charged with terrorism. In 2003, Columbus truck driver Iyman Faris, who is serving a 20-year sentence after admitting he scouted the Brooklyn Bridge for al-Qaida, tipped authorities to Paul and Somali immigrant Nuradin Abdi.

Faris told investigators that he and Paul were at an Upper
Arlington coffee shop with Abdi when Abdi, frustrated with U.S. military
operations in Agfhanistan and Iraq, said they ought to shoot up a shopping
mall.

Abdi was not charged with plotting against a mall but with lying to
obtain travel papers to leave the U.S. and with attempting to go to a terrorist
training camp in Ethiopia. His trial is scheduled for September.

At today's hearing, Assistant U.S. Attorney Dana Peters explained the charges against Paul. Asked by U.S. Magistrate Terence P. Kemp if he understood the charges, Paul responded, “Yes, sir."

Al Sharpton - Fire the Hypocrite

I used to listen to Don Imus when driving into DC everyday and sometimes he was funny and sometimes the show was interesting. Mostly it was an alternative to the horrendous music stations of the time.

I have listened to Al Sharpton as well and the only time he was interesting or funny was the presidential debates. Other than that Sharpton hit me as a poverty pimp, racist and anti-Semite.

Here are some of the things I remember Sharpton saying and doing:

• “White folks was in caves while we was building empires...We taught philosophy and astrology and mathematics before Socrates and them Greek homos ever got around to it.” The quote appeared in a December 1995 story in The Forward, a Jewish newspaper, and was based on a videotape of a 1994 appearance Sharpton made at Kean College in New Jersey.

• At Gavin Cato’s funeral, Sharpton criticized the Jewish community and thereafter organized a series of massive, angry demonstrations. He declared that Cato’s death was not merely the result of a car accident, but rather “the social accident of apartheid.” The contentious activist then challenged local Jews—who he derisively characterized as “diamond merchants” —to “pin their yarmulkes back and come over to my house” to settle the score. Finally he claimed, without proof, that the Jewish driver had run over the Cato child while in a drunken stupor.

• Calling blacks who disagreed with him "yellow niggers"

• A former police officer, private investigator, and director of security at a Brooklyn Hospital, McKinnon revealed that “Sharpton acknowledged to me early on that ‘The [Brawley] story do sound like bull---t, but it don’t matter. We’re building a movement. This is the perfect issue. Because you’ve got whites on blacks. That’s an easy way to stir up all the deprived people, who would want to believe and who would believe—and all [you’ve] got to do is convince them—that all white people are bad. Then you’ve got a movement.” Explaining that Sharpton was methodically “building an atmosphere” for a race war, McKinnon continued: “Sharpton told me it don’t matter whether any whites did it or not. Something happened to her...even if Tawana done it to herself.” To prove his truthfulness, McKinnon submitted to a lie detector test administered on camera and passed all questions.
  
  Pagones is wholly innocent -- the crime never occurred -- but Sharpton taunts him: "If we're lying, sue us, so we can . . . prove you did it." Pagones does sue, and eventually wins a $345,000 verdict for defamation. To this day, Sharpton refuses to recant his unspeakable slander or to apologize for his role in the odious affair.

• Mr. Muhammad, who publicly referred to Jews as “slumlords in the black community” who are busy “sucking our [black’] blood on a daily and consistent basis”; who said that Jews had provoked Adolf Hitler when they “went in there, in Germany, the way they do everywhere they go, and they supplanted, they usurped”; who said that blacks, in retribution against South African whites of the apartheid era, should “kill the women,…kill the children,…kill the babies,…kill the blind,…kill the crippled,…kill the faggot,…kill the lesbian,…kill them all”; who praised Colin Ferguson, a black man who had shot some twenty white and Asian commuters (killing six of them) in a racially motivated 1993 shooting spree aboard a New York commuter train, as a hero who possessed the courage to “just kill every goddamn cracker that he saw”; who advised blacks that “[t]here are no good crackers, and if you find one, kill him before he changes”; who told a Donahue television audience in May 1994 that “[t]here is a little bit of Hitler in all white people”; and who characterized black conservatives as “boot-licking, butt-licking, bamboozled, half-baked, half-fried, sissified, punkified, pasteurized, homogenized Nigger[s].” Sharpton actually lauded Muhammad for being nothing less than “a very articulate and courageous brother.”

Pimp on Brother Al. If moral depravity were poverty, you'd be serving in Iraq with Brother Kerry.

Affairs Committee, were asked at a press conference in San Francisco
Tuesday whether on the heels of their recent trip to the Middle East they would
be interested in extending their diplomacy in the troubled region with a visit
to Iran.

"Speaking just for myself, I would be ready to get on a plane
tomorrow morning, because however objectionable, unfair and inaccurate many of (Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad's) statements are, it is important that we have a dialogue with him,'' Lantos said. "Speaking for myself, I'm ready to
go -- and knowing the speaker, I think that she might be.''

Pelosi did not dispute that statement, and noted that Lantos -- a
Hungarian-born survivor of the Holocaust -- brought "great experience, knowledge and judgment" to the recent bipartisan congressional delegation trip to Israel, the Palestinian territories, Lebanon and Saudi Arabia in addition to Syria.

"I find the president of Iran's remarks to be so repulsive that they
are outside the circle of civilized human behavior,'' Pelosi said, referring to

The sheer number of people who believe Pelosi should be
prosecuted under the Logan Act is fascinating. I wonder why they think the political impact of an unpopular president using a Dead Letter law to seek the incaraceration of a popular House Speaker over a policy dispute would be.

citizens without authority from interfering in relations between the United
States and foreign governments. Although attempts have been made to repeal the
Act, it remains law and at least a potential sanction to be used against anyone

Using his reference, Matt also believes the Second Amendment is a Dead Letter as well.

A dead letter can also refer to anything that has outlived its
relevance, such as a law which has not been revoked but is obsolete,
unapplicable, or no longer enforced. This includes, but is not limited to blue
laws. Another example, in Parker v. District of Columbia: "In
short, we take the District’s position to be that the Second Amendment is a dead
letter." [1]

Matt has a problem with laws he doesn’t agree with. When Matt has a problem with laws, they shouldn’t exist, then he can ignore them. At least until he can apply them to Republicans. Then, by jebus, they are the law of the land and should be enforced to the maximum.

He also has a problem in that the comments he cites as from LGF aren’t from LGF, but from Reason.

Election Reform has a hidden agenda

I received a polite comment to a posting from Joseph O who directed me to this site. I will be polite in return by pointing out that I so disagree with their reforms.

Top five reasons:

1. Quit messing with state's rights.

2. Stop trying to make the federal government in charge of everything

3. Third party candidates do not work and they weaken our Republic.

4. The District of Calamity Columbia is the Federal City.

5. We are a Republic, not a Democracy.

Here are ten key points of our National Election Reform Platform.

1. Uniform Ballot Access for federal candidates. Rather than candidates for president having 51 different rules for making the ballot, make the criteria uniform throughout the land.

2. Loosen Third Party Ballot Restrictions. Force states to untie ballot access to past election results. Without fair ballot access in place, the thresholds to become a recognized third party are too difficult to achieve (by design of the Big Two). Currently only 37 states have at least one recognized third party and that changes based on election results.

3. Universal Voter Registration. Legislation has already been passed that will require government standardized identification cards which should be acceptable to election officials to allow anyone who shows up at the right precinct on Election Day to vote on-the-spot whether registered or not.

4. Extended Election Hours. Either hold elections on weekends or move it to a holiday like Columbus Day in October.

5. Media Access for third party contenders to include broadcast time on public airwaves and inclusion in debates.

6. Instant Runoff Voting (IRV) which allows voters to rank their choices. If no candidate gets a majority of the vote – over 50% - then the lowest number of first place votes is eliminated and the second place votes are counted. This continues until a candidate secures a majority.

7. Secure the Vote - Ensure the security of our voting instruments whether it is via a papertrail or some better method. Six years since the Florida debacle should have provided secure voting machines. Electronic machines subject to manipulation are not the answer.

8. Public Campaign Financing - Instituting a fair and equitable method of public campaign financing reduces taxpayer burden. Here's how: It costs the country more now under the current system that forces candidates to raise exorbitant sums of money from corporate and private donors (read: elitists). The winner is then beholden to the group of financiers that paid for that victory which creates a corrupt system of paybacks (no-bid contracts) and legislation (energy bill subsidizing oil and gas; prescription drug bill favoring pharmaceutical companies) that raids our Treasury at an enormous cost to the taxpayer - the real owners of our country.

9. Direct Election of the President by popular vote. Get rid of the Electoral College.

10. Voting representation in congress for the citizens of the federal District of Columbia (which also gives them an Electoral College vote).

Recap:

The states are the United States not the federal government.

The federal government's rights are limited by the Constitution and the Bill of Rights. Get over it.

3. Third party candidates do not work and they weaken our Republic.

If you really like coalition governing go where they already have it, like Italy. You can like any of the hundreds of governments they've had since WWII.

4. The District of Columbia is the Federal City.

It is not a state and has Congress as its Representative. If you want more Liberal votes and voters persuade them to work with you. Do not illegally mandate them.

5. We are a Republic, not a Democracy.

No direct election of the President. The Electoral College is a protection of less populated states against larger states, i.e. the rest of the country does not want to be ruled by New York, California and Illinois.

Finally, we need another national holiday like we need root canal by chainsaw.

Lebanon's problems passes through Damascus." Now, of course, all we need to do
is remind Pelosi that the spirit and letter of successive United Nations
Security Council resolutions, as well as Saudi and Egyptian efforts in recent
weeks, have been destined to ensure precisely the opposite: that Syria end its
meddling in Lebanese affairs.

Pelosi embarked on a fool's errand to Damascus
this week, and among the issues she said she would raise with Assad - when she
wasn't on the Lady Hester Stanhope tour in the capital of imprisoned dissidents
Aref Dalila, Michel Kilo, and Anwar Bunni - is "the role of Syria in supporting
Hamas and Hizbullah." What the speaker doesn't seem to have realized is that if
Syria is made an obligatory passage in American efforts to address the Lebanese
crisis, then Hizbullah will only gain. Once Assad is re-anointed gatekeeper in
Lebanon, he will have no incentive to concede anything, least of all to
dilettantes like Pelosi, on an organization that would be Syria's enforcer in
Beirut if it could re-impose its hegemony over its smaller neighbor.

Never mind that that statement is ludicrous: As any diplomat with knowledge of the region could have told Ms. Pelosi, Mr. Assad is a corrupt thug whose overriding priority at the moment is not peace with Israel but heading off U.N. charges that he orchestrated the murder of former Lebanese prime minister Rafiq al-Hariri. The really striking development here is the attempt by a Democratic congressional leader to substitute her own foreign policy for that of a sitting Republican president. Two weeks ago Ms. Pelosi rammed legislation through the House of Representatives that would strip Mr. Bush of his authority as commander in chief to manage troop movements in Iraq. Now she is attempting to introduce a new Middle East policy that directly conflicts with that of the president. We have found much to criticize in Mr. Bush's military strategy and regional diplomacy. But Ms. Pelosi's attempt to establish a shadow presidency is not only counterproductive, it is foolish.

Calling Pelosi and her illegal mission foolish is a good start.

The legislature has another branch of government to deal with as well.
