THE DISSENT DECEIT
Worst of all, the most enduringly popular slogans tend to be either dishonest, misattributed - or just plain dumb.
We've all heard humorless America-haters promote themselves by announcing, As Thomas Jefferson said, "Dissent is the highest form of patriotism."
The first problem with that self-righteous bull is that Jefferson never said it. On the contrary, he warned of the dangers of political dissension carried to extremes.
The earliest traceable provenance of the slogan goes back to an obscure 1960s lefty who just made it up (long before activist-historian Howard Zinn commandeered it).
My fellow Americans, let me ask you: Were Abby Hoffman, Jerry Rubin and Sen. Barack Obama's Weatherman Underground pals (who bombed their own country) really more patriotic than those who served in Vietnam? Was trashing the campus records office truly the "highest form of patriotism?"
Why shouldn't the left make up fake quotes for the founding fathers? They make up fake Bible verses, fake history and fake science.

Critics suggested that Snow was turning the traditionally informational daily briefing into a personality-driven media event short on facts and long on confrontation.

You CAN Kiss The Democratic Party Goodbye
Just looking at a few of today's headlines gives one an indication of what is happening to the Democratic Party of today. As voters had lost confidence and no longer believed in the Republican Party prior to 1980, today's voters are doing the same to the current Democrat Party. The party lead by stalwarts such as Pelosi, Reid, Conyers, Schumer and others have created an environment of a child who has charmed, but lied one too many times and people are sick of it.

The Republican Party has an opportunity to atone for acting like drunken Democrats in Tijuana with government checkbooks and return o being Republicans in the Reagan mold. Will they do it? They really do not have a choice because their boss, the voter, is tired of them trying to buy our votes. The Democrats did that for years and they have created a monster called the federal bureaucracy that rules in place of our elected representatives. That is disgraceful.

Pravda Pelosi Hates Free Speech, Especially Political Free Speech
After all, political free speech really puts her shorts in a bunch because a free exchange of ideas is harmful to her brand of ideals.

Democratic House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, who would like very much to reimpose the old, so-called, “Fairness Doctrine” that once censored conservative opinion on television and radio broadcasting, is scheming to impose rules barring any member of Congress from posting opinions on any internet site without first obtaining prior approval from the Democratic leadership of Congress. No blogs, twitter, online forums - nothing.
It's not just Pelosi designated social pariahs, conservatives, it is also more moderate Democrats that will be muzzled.
How much longer before these progressives, really just tired old liberals, get booted out in spite of their feel-good marketing of bad ideas?
Go home Nana. Your blatant power grabs are embarrassing. Even to Democrats. Your inability to understand the law is embarrassing to those of all political persuasions.

Rove defies subpoena, skips House hearing
Former top White House adviser Karl Rove on Thursday ignored a subpoena and skipped a House Judiciary subcommittee hearing on the alleged politicization of the Department of Justice under the Bush administration.
His failure to appear caused the panel’s Democrats to reject the reasons for his absence and Republicans to defend Rove.
“I’ve given Mr. Rove’s written claims careful consideration, and I’ve ruled that those claims are not legally valid and that Mr. Rove is required, pursuant to the subpoena, to be here now and to answer questions,” said subcommittee Chairwoman Linda Sánchez (D-Calif.).

The House MUST act - there is no reason not to, for several reasons:
- Rove is challenging Congress’ rights under the constitution. This CANNOT be allowed to stand. If it does, checks and balances are DEAD.
- During the Watergate scandal, the Supreme Court ruled against Nixon’s claim of executive privilege regarding the tapes. If a president doesn’t have executive protection of records of his own conversations, how can a staff member claim the same privilege?
- Tactically, they have to compel Rove to testify as a first step. Rove will probably refuse to answer questions in the chair, or try to avoid testifying at all via a court injunction invoking executive privilege. Either way, the courts will become involved. Best for Congress to force the issue to avoid further delay, which only helps Rove.
- Politically, it will be highly advantageous to nail Rove during the last months of the election campaign.

There just isn't much Baroque likes about America and Americans. We're greedy white people even though we supposedly paid the fare for Obama's family to get here and then educated him. We're racist even though he seems to be the one that brings race up. We're clinging to our guns and religion even as he throws his under the bus along with his mentor and pastor. Our taxes aren't high enough. Our world class health care sucks. Our hope and love for the yet to be born is infantile and wrong. Our desire to free 50+ million people in Iraq and Afghanistan is wrong, wrong, wrong and misguided.
Our desire that immigrants learn English, learn our laws and support their adopted country is bad enough, but worse yet is that Americans just won't take the time to learn another language, say like FRENCH!

TV One Loves Obama, But Not McCain & Eight Black Republicans
Same old, same old, if a white did this....
TV One to cover Democratic convention -- but not Republican
"This is a huge deal for TV One as it is for the African American community," said Johnathan Rodgers, president and CEO of TV One, a channel in about 40 million homes. "African Americans have fallen in love with Barack Obama’s family, his candidacy … we will be covering the democratic convention all the time."
But John McCain shouldn’t expect the same treatment. The network doesn’t plan any coverage of the Republican convention.
"We are not a news organization," said Rodgers, speaking at the opening session of the semi-annual Television Critics Association press tour in Beverly Hills. "We are a television network designed to celebrate African American achievement."
"My audience is 93% black," Rogers added. "I serve my audience."
TV One does have a republican pundit as part of its convention coverage, comedian Sheryl Underwood. But she’s also voting for Obama.
When critics pressed a panel of TV One’s convention pundits about whether African American republicans will feel slighted, Underwood said, “I speak for all eight of us -- we are not slighted.”
Of course we all know that blacks can't be racists. They just act like them, like when I was called a cracker and my friend, who was black, was called nigger and Uncle Tom because we were walking down a street together in NYC.

Southwest Airlines is Gay Friendly, But Not Child Friendly
A coincidental update to Undercover Marketing about Southwest Airlines.
A 14 year old relative is coming to visit and is flying in on Southwest Airline. While perusing their website to find out about travel assistance for a child I found all about their partnering with the gay community which I wrote about prior to this.
It appears Southwest is anxious to continue enhancing the travel experience of the gay and lesbian community and have dedicated a web site to feature great gay-friendly destinations, events and special offers throughout the year. How nice.
I called the airlines when I couldn't find anything about assistance for an unaccompanied minor on their web site. I was informed that Southwest does not offer such a service and that I should have an adult fly with the child or at least have child who is competent to read signs and get from gate to gate. How nice.

Before he had to admit he was wrong about the surge, Obama said:
We're not going to baby sit a civil war.
Then he was going to make an assessment after he spoke with our commanders in Iraq. Oops, then he made his own assessment based on the anger of his far left base.
Sill, BO isn't quite sure what he's going to do or when he's going to do whatever it is he isn't sure about. That is until elected. Then he's going to do what the electorate wouldn't vote for him to do, pull out of Iraq, negotiate with Islamofascists and doom 50+million people in Iraq and Afghanistan to a bleak future and probable death.
