First, One Must Ask WHY?

This is so wrong on a number of levels.

Blowfish testicles poison seven in Japanese restaurant

Seven diners in northern Japan fell ill and three were still in hospital today after eating blowfish testicles prepared in a restaurant not authorised to serve the poisonous delicacy.

The owner of the restaurant in Tsuruoka city, who is also the chef, had no licence to serve blowfish and was being questioned on suspicion of professional negligence, police official Yoshihito Iwase said.

Iwase said the seven men ordered sashimi and grilled blowfish testicles at the restaurant last night.

Shortly after, they developed limb paralysis and breathing trouble and started to lose consciousness – typical signs of blowfish poisoning – and were rushed to a hospital for treatment.

A 68-year-old diner was in a critical condition with respiratory failure and two others, aged 55 and 69, were in serious condition, Iwase said.

"It's scary. If you go to a decent-looking restaurant that serves fugu, you would assume a cook has a proper fugu license," Iwase said, using the Japanese term for blowfish.

Blowfish poison, called tetrodotoxin, is nearly 100 times more poisonous than potassium cyanide, according to the Ishikawa health service association. Eating it can cause death within an hour and a half.

Southwest Airlines is Gay Friendly, But Not Child Friendly

A coincidental update to Undercover Marketing about Southwest Airlines.

A 14 year old relative is coming to visit and is flying in on Southwest Airline. While perusing their website to find out about travel assistance for a child I found all about their partnering with the gay community which I wrote about prior to this.

It appears Southwest is anxious to continue enhancing the travel experience of the gay and lesbian community and have dedicated a web site to feature great gay-friendly destinations, events and special offers throughout the year. How nice.

I called the airlines when I couldn't find anything about assistance for an unaccompanied minor on their web site. I was informed that Southwest does not offer such a service and that I should have an adult fly with the child or at least have child who is competent to read signs and get from gate to gate. How nice.

Saving New Orleans By Destroying It

Brad Pitt is trying to help. Help is building houses in the 9th Ward in New Orleans where if there is a major storm, hurricane or flood again, all the house will be destroyed again, but Pitt is trying to help. I wish he'd stop. I think a whole lotta people in New Orleans feel the same way, but some people have no choice but to go with Pitt because the city government is run by morons totally incapable of policing Mardi Gras let alone a city.

Forcing starchitects, as John Massendale calls them, on people is just wrong and egotistical. How do you save a neighborhood by making it what it never was? How do you save a neighborhood by building stupid, ugly little houses that will never be homes?

How abnormal are these when viewed in a historical context as an aggregate. A politician lied? The Pope wants reporters to exhibit ethics when dealing with facts? Another group of faux muslims are using the Koran to show their faux rage? That governments find new and intrusive excuses to control citizens? Socialists such as Soros use their wealth to sully capitalism in America? Or is it odder and thus significant that a pop star is meeting with military leaders concerning how the military should do its job or is it odd at all that a shill such as Al Gore will try to up the ante on his prior dire lies by stating the problem is much worse than he ever realized.

I've seen MoMA and they're right. They should have learned important lessons from viewing MoMA inside and out. That they didn't is obvious from the beginning because one might assume that from the beginning they hired the architect.



Lesson from MoMA

Sweeping across the new building, a massive yet gossamer structure, is a 600-foot-long stretch of canted glass and titanium-tinted panels that hang over an expansive arcade. Gehry's addition will join the conglomeration of 11 buildings that make up the AGO, including an 1820 brick residence bequeathed to the gallery in 1911. Rising off center, the new addition will be partially sheathed in Gehry's signature metallic panels. The southern face of the building will sport a 140-foot-high unbroken facade of glass.



Inside, the new AGO will house a dramatic corkscrew spiral walkway that wends its way through internal arches built in 1925. The walkway, which evokes Frank Lloyd Wright's Guggenheim in New York with its continuous helix that expands as it coils around a spatial well, twists up to the fourth floor of a light-flooded glass atrium. This architectural feature bridges traditional and modern, without compromising the integrity of the existing structure.

Mr. Gehry believes he understands art, but it obvious who the artist isn't. Evoking the worst of FLW to maintain the integrity of buildings that were not meant to coexist by the original designers is an insult to all who think. One side will think, 'why not just tear down the old building' while another will ponder how does one tear down the new buildings. A loss-loss- for all.

This is a pompous design foisted on a public by a higher called elite which is a high pockets for, 'Boy that building is ugly. Must be government.'

Brent Musburger, NASCAR, OSU And God's Tempting Of Me To Shoot My TV

It was, as usual, horrible and irritating to have Brent Musburger announce the OSU vs Michigan football game yesterday. Of course most ABC Sports coverage is mainly about ABC, upcoming ABC shows and advertising with a little sports sprinkled in between. Musburger and "friends" then go on to discuss cute sidebars and have absolutely worthless tech gadgets block most of what sports they do show. Now, add Musburger's obvious bias for Michigan, his constant negative comments about anything OSU and you have a situation where heat rash is more enjoyable.

Today is the last NASCAR race of the season. The DuPont Dweeb, Lil'Jeffy Gorden, has a chance (very little) to win the championship. His team mate Jimmy Johnson is the likely winner. It could be a great race. For the championship finale ABC could have brought their "A" game, but no, they have decided not to. They brought Brent Musburger.

Why is Brent Musburger on my TV again? He knows less (and could care less) about NASCAR than I know about brain surgery. What have I done to deserve this?
