Just Like Trayvon Martin, George Zimmerman Has A Family

The environment is just too target rich for the likes of the Al Sharptons and the Jesse Jacksons of the world, especially when they smell blood money. Like sharks they won't wait for the facts, no, they will attack while the headlines are still warm with blood in the water. That's how they make headlines. That's how they make money. That's how they blackmail governments into making unnecessary laws. That's how they use people to get what they want.

A statement by George Zimmerman's father, a retired judge:

“The tragic events of February 26 are very sad for all concerned. The Martin family, our family, and the entire community have been forever changed.

The portrayal of George Zimmerman in the media, as well as the series of events that led to the tragic shooting are false and extremely misleading. Unfortunately, some individuals and organizations have used this tragedy to further their own causes and agendas.

George is a Spanish speaking minority with many black family members and friends. He would be the last to discriminate for any reason whatsoever. One black neighbor recently interviewed said she knew everything in the media was untrue and that she would trust George with her life. Another black neighbor said that George was the only one, black or white, who came and welcomed her to the community, offering any assistance he could provide. Recently, I met two black children George invited to a social event. I asked where they met George. They responded that he was their mentor. They said George visited them routinely, took them places, helped them, and taught them things and that they really loved George. The media portrayal of George as a racist could not be further from the truth.

The events of February 26 reported in the media are also totally inaccurate. Out of respect for the on-going investigation, I will not discuss specifics. However, the media reports of the events are imaginary at best. At no time did George follow or confront Mr. Martin. When the true details of the event become public, and I hope that will be soon, everyone should be outraged by the treatment of George Zimmerman in the media.

Our entire family is deeply sorry for the loss of Trayvon. We pray for the Martin family daily. We also pray that the community will grieve together and not be divided by more unwarranted hate.

The Zimmerman family will have no further contact with the media prior to the resolution of the investigation. It would be greatly appreciated if the media would respect our privacy.”

If, according to liberals, minorities can't be racist which is a preposterous idea, George Zimmerman could not have committed racial profiling nor a hate crime given his background and racial makeup. 

What really happened? Hopefully we will see, but racists like the Sharptons, Jacksons and others who use race as a tool to gain power, make money and to get cheap headlines, will try their best to make sure the facts have nothing to do with the verdict.

George Zimmerman has a family too. Maybe he isn't racially acceptable to racists.

To the Editor:

Re “Please Stop Apologizing,” by Bill Maher (Op-Ed, March 22):

We’re both women who have worked in Democratic politics and the media for decades and find Bill Maher’s misogynist treatment of women candidates deeply disturbing. Coincidentally we both hail from Alaska — where women are treated as equals — so perhaps our threshold for this kind of behavior is less than here in the Lower 48.

Mr. Maher has implicitly attempted to tie his own demeaning attacks on women to the unrelated issue of partisan-motivated fake outrage, which we agree is tiring. While others have been held to account for their sexism, Mr. Maher remains unrepentant for his attacks on women in public life.

How can we expect women to run for office when they are essentially told to “lighten up about” and accept misogynist attacks? The Women’s Media Center has found that such attacks on women candidates have a measurable negative effect on how voters view them.

Our message to Mr. Maher and his ilk is: Please start apologizing.

“It has footage, it has pictures which we are essentially not allowed to see in the United States, that the networks don’t allow of what is going on in Iraq, what’s going on in Afghanistan.”

Bizarrely, Rosenberg also claimed the left-of-center New Republic magazine, which regularly defends President Obama, was “very much of a right wing, Jewish publication.”

Media Matters also has a cheek to cheek relationship with the Obama Administration.

The curious link between MMFA and the White House war on Fox

Apparently, the people at Media Matters take the term “investigative journalism” seriously — even if they misunderstand it.  According to a September 2009 e-mail obtained by Tucker Carlson at the Daily Caller, Media Matters Director of Media Relations Karl Frisch proposed to founder David Brock and MMFA president Eric Burns that the organization conduct a campaign to “embarrass and discredit” Fox News, which Frisch called the “enemy” which the progressive movement needed after winning the presidency and control of Congress.  Among the ideas Frisch proposed was hiring private investigators to dig up dirt on Fox News anchors and staff

Dear President Obama,

You don’t know my telephone number, but I hope your staff is busy trying to find it. Ever since you called Sandra Fluke after Rush Limbaugh called her a slut, I figured I might be next.  You explained to reporters you called her because you were thinking of your two daughters, Malia and Sasha.  After all, you didn’t want them to think it was okay for men to treat them that way:

“One of the things I want them to do as they get older is engage in issues they care about, even ones I may not agree with them on,” you said.  “I want them to be able to speak their mind in a civil and thoughtful way. And I don’t want them attacked or called horrible names because they’re being good citizens.”

And I totally agree your kids should be able to speak their minds and engage the culture.  I look forward to seeing what good things Malia and Sasha end up doing with their lives.

But here’s why I’m a little surprised my phone hasn’t rung.  Your $1,000,000 donor Bill Maher has said reprehensible things about my family.  He’s made fun of my brother because of his Down’s Syndrome. He’s said I was “f—-d so hard a baby fell out.”  (In a classy move, he did this while his producers put up the cover of my book, which tells about the forgiveness and redemption I’ve found in God after my past – very public — mistakes.)

If Maher talked about Malia and Sasha that way, you’d return his dirty money and the Secret Service would probably have to restrain you.  After all, I’ve always felt you understood my plight more than most because your mom was a teenager.  That’s why you stood up for me when you were campaigning against Sen. McCain and my mom — you said vicious attacks on me should be off limits.

Yet I wonder if the Presidency has changed you.  Now that you’re in office, it seems you’re only willing to defend certain women.  You’re only willing to take a moral stand when you know your liberal supporters will stand behind you.

But…

What if you did something radical and wildly unpopular with your base and took a stand against the denigration of all women… even if they’re just single moms? Even if they’re Republicans?

I’m not expecting your SuperPAC to return the money.  You’re going to need every dime to hang on to your presidency.  I’m not even really expecting a call.  But would it be too much to expect a little consistency?  After all, you’re President of all Americans, not just the liberals.

That's only the half of it when you take into account the foot soldiers who pepper blog comments, Facebook etc., with coordinated lies, spin and off topic comments meant to focus on their central memes and in LTTE in national as well as small town newspapers, Twitter and electronic forums.

Potemkin? Maybe ongoing Levittowns of faux fronts like so many sets in a movie and just as real populated with Penn, Clooney and Angelica Huston.

He keeps possibly innocent people in an illegal prison at Guantanamo, targets peaceful mosques with belligerent acts and then tries to hide behind his lawyers. He has all of his rich pals to give him money and special deals to make him even richer as his wife lords over the White House like some queen. And then they go to hang out with their elite friends in their fancy resort houses eating and drinking like royalty and forget how much people are hurting. I’m so damned tired of Bush and his cronies I could puke. Oh, wait…

The Galileo of Global Warming

I have written before about how the left loves to invoke the example of Galileo in order to present themselves as the great defenders of science against all of those knuckle-dragging religious bigots who don't believe in global warming. But these same people don't understand science very well themselves (remember amateur neurologist Janeane Garofalo lecturing us about the "limbic brain"?), so they end up using Galileo, a man who defied the "consensus" of his day, as a propaganda talking point to enforce the consensus of today.

It occurred to me a while back that there is something worse about this invocation of Galileo, because there is a modern-day equivalent to Galileo, specifically on the issue of global warming—and he's on the other side. In this more civilized age, he is thankfully not threatened with torture or any kind of persecution. But he is a pioneer of new and important scientific truths who is being ignored and vilified because his discoveries run counter to the quasi-religious dogma of our day.

All the believers believe themselves some science, eh? Of course they’ll smugly point out that these are all old farts thus not believable because they don’t have a precious apple on the desk.

Strange, because most libs don't believe in God, heaven or hell, but maybe they have had an Epiphany because it seems they are all saying "rot in hell" in unison. If they're finally believing in Hell then maybe they'll start acting in a way that might get them into Heaven.
