Yet the Democrats resisting that amount in House-approved cuts say it will wreck the economy while leaving children unschooled, taking food from the mouths of the elderly, and casting disabled people into the streets.
Laughter is the only appropriate response to such predictions.In these absurd times, when both parties quibble over crumbs while the layer cake of debt rises higher and higher, laughter is a mark of fiscal seriousness.
Reminds me of when my daughter announced we were going on a trip around the world. I explained that due to work and family responsibilities I couldn't take the time off. She explained that I could stay at home and the rest of the family could go. My wife said that she couldn't take the time off to go around the world and our son said he couldn't miss school and practice, but my daughter explained she would go by herself. I then said that we couldn't afford the trip and there wasn't any reason to discuss it as a reality.
She wailed and cried stomping off to her room. I went to her and said that though we couldn't go on such a trip that she could still dream and plan for such a trip for herself one day. I was then informed by her that by the time she had that much money she'd be dead. Oh, and that I had absolutely ruined her entire life and that she might as well be dead.
That was 13 years ago and she has finished college and has worked many jobs, two at a time, to put money aside. I recently reminded her of her hysterics over never having been able to take her trip around the world. She started laughing and said she still gets embarrassed remembering her childish hyperbole.
She leaves for her trip next year and good for her because she earned it herself.

And when Tea Partiers did voice their displeasure Democrats shut down future meetings. What occurred here though was a group of people shutting down debate. They succeeded.
They were pleased. So they chanted.
This is the way their ancestral union leaders did things and it worked because the press was behind them to convince the public. In today's world where the media is bypassed to see the truth this method is failing which allows people to see political idiots for what they are.

Stalin wanted to replace this breeding ground with the absolutely ridiculous Palace of the Soviets. There was to be a 6,000 ton statue of Stalin atop the palace that, if finished, would have been taller than the Empire State Building.
Nikita Kruschev decided the empty space was an eyesore, much like our government produced with Urban Renewal, and decided to build a huge series of very large swimming pools. As with much centralized government planning and the mindset that goes with it, the design and construction was very poor and the pools leaked, sometimes they leaked in reverse allowing dirty water from the Moskva River to dirty the waters of the largest pool in the world.
By 1995, President Reagan had brought the Soviet Union to its knees and as freedom and religion again flourished in Russia construction on a new cathedral, to be identical to the original, began. It was completed in 2000.

Wisconsin Demos Caving
It's political theater. It isn't real, but it is Democrats doing what they do best. Nada. Nothing. Zilch and zippo.
But they want you all to know that they have destroyed Gov Walker and his fellow Republicans politically. They have done so by speaking truth to power even though that voice was in another state and their stay was illegally paid for through the help of the mayor of Madison, his associates and the Democrat party. Truth to power is more important than truth to law. They're caving.
Tout all the polls you want. The real poll will be the next election.

Sen. Mark Miller said he and his fellow Democrats intend to let the full Senate vote on Gov. Scott Walker's "budget-repair" bill, which includes the proposed limits on public unions' collective bargaining rights. The bill, which had been blocked because the missing Democrats were needed for the Senate to have enough members present to consider the bill, is expected to pass the Republican-controlled chamber.
He said he thinks recent polls showing voter discontent with Mr. Walker over limits on bargaining rights have been "disastrous" for the governor and give Democrats more leverage to seek changes in a broader two-year budget bill Mr. Walker proposed Tuesday.
But Republican Senate Majority Leader Scott Fitzgerald said Sunday night that the "budget repair" bill can not be amended at this point. But it's possible that over the next few weeks adjustments could be made to Mr. Walker's broader budget plan. "This bill will pass. The collective bargaining piece has to pass. If it doesn't the governor's budget doesn't work," he said.
As I said, they're caving because they hope they have built up enough good will among independents to carry them over what they know will be a rough patch. Well, also because layoffs are about to happen since they have refused to do their jobs, the Republicans are passing more substantive legislation and they have become the laughing stock in three states. Chevy Volt By Govt Dolt
Big government, to paraphrase W. F. Buckley, does two things well; 1) wage war, and 2) raise taxes, but after Vietnam one is in doubt. There has never been any doubt that government interference and involvement in the automobile industry creates disaster.
Peruse Chevrolet's February sales release, and you'll notice one number that's blatantly missing: how many Chevy Volts were sold. The number – a very modest 281 – is available in the company's detailed data (PDF), but it apparently isn't something that GM wants to highlight. Keeping the number quiet is understandable, since it's lower than the 321 that Chevy sold in January.
Nissan doesn't have anything to brag about here, either. Why? Well, back in January, the company sold 87 Leafs. In February? Just 67. Where does that leave us? Well, here's the big scorecard for all U.S. sales of these vehicles thus far:

WI Defendants Want To Pack Juries And Pick Judges
Power and control and that is what this is all about. It's not the money because public sector union members make excellent salary and benefits. It is about power and the ability to control the political debate so they can can control as many other aspects of life in their states as well.
It's time to end rigged system
Public employee unions are unlike private sector unions. In the private sector some of the interests of employees and employers aren't aligned. Employers want to keep costs low; but employees want to maximize their pay and benefits, thus raising costs to employers. In order to strengthen their hand, employees unite to collectively bargain over wages and benefits.
Now consider the case of public sector unions. Public sector employees want to maximize their wages and benefits, too. But unlike their private sector counterparts, they have a very big role to play in choosing the employers on the other side of the negotiating table. They do this by taking funds earned through collective bargaining and sending them right back to the people they bargain with in the form of political contributions.
If that sounds like a rigged system; well, that's because it is.

States W/O Collective Bargaining For Teachers Are Stupid?

Those states and their ranking on ACT/SAT scores are as follows: South Carolina -50th/ North Carolina -49th/ Georgia -48th/ Texas -47th/ Virginia -44th. If you are wondering, Wisconsin is currently ranked #2."
After we contacted the Democratic Party of Wisconsin, Melissa Baldauff, the party’s research director, wrote us to say that "after further investigation, we determined that the data was not the most up-to-date. Accordingly, we have removed the post from our Facebook page."
Ultimately, the Facebook post uses outdated data based on a questionable methodology. A review using current data finds that Wisconsin does perform better on test scores than the non-union states, but not as dramatically as suggested in the Facebook post. And there is at best limited evidence that unionization played a causal role in shaping differences in test scores. We rate the statement False.

I don’t know what was discussed but I gotta believe we’re a little more firm in our stance now that we hear from Senator Fitzgerald that he wants us to come back and debate something that’s not negotiable.

Liberal Trickle Down - We're Being Monitored By Unions
Government now equals union. Actually I think it the other way around as unions are bureaucrats and bureaucrats are the government with a few bothersome entities such as the executive branch (not really a current problem), the legislative branch and the judiciary. All three of these encumbrances are run by and maintained by bureaucrats.
Our "security" is maintained by the unionized TSA. Our children are taught by unions. Our cars are not only built by, but are also owned by unions. Unions fight our fires, police our streets and doctor our sick. Unions, under the protection of the legislative and judicial branches, build our houses, install and maintain the plumbing, electrical, gas and and the truckers that deliver all the materials.
There is little that unions do not control. Hell, even some whores are unionized.
Now, we, the taxpayer is paying to make sure we do not denigrate these people that control our lives.

In the story above the article speaks about an agency of the United States government that tracks tweets as to rebut information they deem wrong. An agency of the federal government that is unionized. (Were the Berrigan brothers unionized?) They are using an individual short link url for each person they contact which allows them to track who they are tweeting which in turn allows them to track individuals down the line. We all know that unions and government are paragons of virtue and would never catalogue or share information so there is no possibility that we now, all of us, reside in some data bank for future use.
Right?

Last Friday.... after the Assembly voted to engross the Budget Repair Bill, Hintz turned to a female colleague, Rep. Michelle Litjens and said: "You are F***king dead!"
Oh boy, union members, especially those loquacious, but oh so respectful teachers are going to be so disappointed.
Everything was moving along swimmingly what with the 14 Demo senators running away and hiding, all the protests with "koch sucker" and "Hitler" references, the violence and trashing the state capitol, especially defacing the war memorial and now this.

While Republicans are more explicit about their goal, and want to move faster, Democrats and Republicans are both taking steps that will soon reduce the public sector union movement to a shadow of its current self.
One caveat though. Will Dead Fish Rahmbo take up residence at the bottom of the Chicago River when he cuts union jobs and tells bureaucrats the gravy train has to be slowed?
Maybe he'll run to Tennessee and hide out in Little Chicago!

WI House Passes Bill, Phantom Senators Miss Staged Street Theater In Chamber
This is getting tiresome as libprogs continue staged theater in and out of the capitol building to garner media coverage and support. Total fail on both counts as voters turn on the protesters and the media gets savaged for their propaganda thinly veiled as reporting.
The real shame is that these progressive Oscar-challenged bullies have been in charge for so long.
