Buh Bye Barney

Your adopted children Fannie & Freddie will miss you. We won't.

Barney Frank not seeking re-election in 2012

I trust he has his mortgage secured. Should I call Angelo? I'm sure Barney is set. Time for him to leave for others to clean up the mess he leaves behind..

As Europe Lectured They Took US Bailout Dollars

Americans angry over the bailouts, stimulus funny money and the general "too big too fail" mentality amongst the financial geniuses in Washington will be thrilled to find out that billions of dollars went to Europe. Our banks are being hammered by bad loans pushed on them by Bwarney Frank, Dodd and the other losers in Congress and those banks have failed, lost 100s of millions or have had to hose shareholders, but foreign banks got the bucks even as their governments lectured America on economics.

European banks took big slice of Fed aid

Many of the worst dim bulbs and losers got tossed in the last election because of thinking such as this. Now it is time to toss the president and his economic allies in the Senate in the next election. This economic theory isn't a theory anymore, it is a proven disaster from stimulus, cap and trade, bailouts, health care reform and buying huge chunks of corporations to support their buddies the unions.

Cut spending by 10%, cut government programs by 10% and fire 25% of bureaucrats including contractors. That'd be a start. In the second round do it it all over again.

Ahmed Khalfan Ghailani VS Baracky And Barney Fife

It was a great campaign gimmick. Take a terrorist and treat him like a graffiti criminal so he can be tried in a criminal court just like a real American. Not a terrorist. Who isn't American. Who is a murderer through terrorist means.

That's what we get when Barney Fife and his twin Baracky decide it's a tad harsh to try a terrorist under the articles of war. Way to go Holder and Obama. You guys really had the team take 284 ones for the One.

Gitmo Detainee Acquitted Of 284 Terror Charges, Guilty Of One

Of course the Fife brothers had the help of Floyd Biden Lawson, Aunt Barney Bee Frank, the deceased Otis Teddy Campbell and Clara Kerry Edwards.

Way to go guys! Great run with this comedy. Terrorists around the world will now get a choice of laughing their butts off over our justice or our genital rubs. Emmys all around.

Morons.

Dodd (D-Ireland) And Barney (D-Taxachusetts) Help Obama Strangle Business And Economy Even More

Another blockbuster bill that no one has read is ready for a seemingly illiterate congress to vote on. Those on the left are already glowing with pride over their new 2,000 pound behemoth child.

House, Senate leaders finalize details of sweeping financial overhaul

No one knows what it will do, but it will give the government more power to interfere and seize banks and other business. A real step forward for freedom, a healthy economy and fat bureaucrats.

Bwarney Frank Wants More Authority And Ability

I don't suppose that he was talking shoe lifts and a gym membership when he spoke of more authority and ability, but still, Barney reminds me of O'Rourke's law of "Giving money and power to government is like giving whiskey and car keys to teenage boys," except these boys came to see Barney. On their own accord. Is there no decency left?

It sounds and looks a tad like a fraternity party. I suppose out of gender respect the boys were able to subvert their Heteronormativity, and the cake girl with the pasties, until after Barney withdrew. TOGA!

Housing Crisis Foretold One Year Ago On This Day

But Barney told us that this wasn't true.

2008 U.S.A. Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae Bailout
14th July 2008 : Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae who own or guarantee about $5.3 trillion worth of home loans about half of all US mortgages have seen a loss of confidence by the market due to the mortgage forclosure increase and the drop in property values in the United States. Both company Shares have been under increasing pressure and have lost as much as 80% of share value in just 12 months . The Fed has given the green light for the Federal Reserve Bank of New York authority to lend any money needed to allow them to continue providing mortgages at 2.25% and will expand its current line of credit to the two companies and buy shares of the companies if needed to prop up share price in these troubled times. Congress is also to approve a package next week which includes a foreclosure rescue to help strapped homeowners get new, more affordable government-backed mortgages through the Federal Housing Administration.

Typical government program. When it's obvious that it's a failure, don't fix it, just prop it up with more money. Our money.

Taxpayers To Become Largest Slumlord In History

First, Congress ordered banks to give mortgages to people that didn't have a snowball's chance in hell of paying them. Now, Obama and Congress want to keep that voter bloc in play by subsidizing bad loans, bad legislation and bad habits. With your dollars.

Obama mulls rental option for some homeowners-sources
Under one idea being discussed, delinquent homeowners would surrender ownership of their homes but would continue to live in the property for several years, the sources told Reuters.

Officials are also considering whether the government should make mortgage payments on behalf of borrowers who cannot keep up with their home loans, tapping an unused portion of a $50 billion housing aid kitty.

As part of this plan, jobless borrowers might receive a housing stipend along with regular unemployment benefits, the sources said.

This will cause Barney to put on his best purple dress and dance the night away doing an Irish jig with his friend Chris.

Housing Collapse II

Just like he caused the first collapse, Ole Barney is up for it again.

Here we go again! Barney Frank asks FANNIE and FREDDIE to relax Mortgage lending rules...

I guess real estate has left a sour taste in his mouth.

UPDATE: The Taxman has more on Frank and lax standards which are two things that fit together.

Deja Vu all over again

"We're Out Of Money" Because Of Health Care?

No way you can make this stuff up. We are in a financial crisis, not because of the match called Fannie & Freddie that lit the fuse, but because we did not, "make some good decisions on health care over the last several decades."

Huh?

How far down Alice's hole will Obama take us?

C-SPAN
SCULLY: You know the numbers, $1.7 trillion debt, a national deficit of $11 trillion. At what point do we run out of money?

OBAMA: Well, we are out of money now. We are operating in deep deficits, not caused by any decisions we've made on health care so far. This is a consequence of the crisis that we've seen and in fact our failure to make some good decisions on health care over the last several decades.

So we've got a short-term problem, which is we had to spend a lot of money to salvage our financial system, we had to deal with the auto companies, a huge recession which drains tax revenue at the same time it's putting more pressure on governments to provide unemployment insurance or make sure that food stamps are available for people who have been laid off.

So we have a short-term problem and we also have a long-term problem. The short-term problem is dwarfed by the long-term problem. And the long-term problem is Medicaid and Medicare. If we don't reduce long-term health care inflation substantially, we can't get control of the deficit.

So, one option is just to do nothing. We say, well, it's too expensive for us to make some short-term investments in health care. We can't afford it. We've got this big deficit. Let's just keep the health care system that we've got now.

Along that trajectory, we will see health care cost as an overall share of our federal spending grow and grow and grow and grow until essentially it consumes everything...

It may be the mental health of Frank, Dodd, Pelosi, Reid, etc., but health care caused this financial mess? Besides out and out corruption in Congress the problem is big government and making it bigger will not improve one damned thing.
