I undermine my credibility? This self described epitome of evil to the religious right states that unborn babies, ie fetuses, are not babies. The lack of logic astounds me. How can a newborn be considered a baby if it cannot survive by itself? Oh, but everybody knows that. Right? How sad. How narcissistic.

want new Supreme Court justices instead of Roberts, Alito & Scalia (Thomas
can stay as the one actual consistent conservative) and I will take them any way
I can get them. granted, I'm assuming that none of Bush's nominees would
be able to get through, and that we'd have 8 justices until a centrist Dem
justice could get confirmed after the election. If it makes anyone feel
better, I'm not rooting for death, simply incapacitation to the point that they
must resign their posts. It's not my fault those are the only two ways for
justices to leave (other than resignation, which will never
happen).

If the government would allow citizens, taxpayers and business' to compete in a free market without too much taxation, too much regulations and a federal government that has over-reached in every aspect of business and life then we will have all the tools necessary to survive.
Defend us, secure our borders, deliver the mail and follow the Constitution. Oh, and get the hell out of our way. You're too big, too fat and too stupid to keep up with us.
For anyone to believe that the government can support, through handouts, so many people, to the tune of 75% of our nation's budget, shows these people are too ignorant to pontificate.

Many years ago I did a study for a PAC that tracked certain racial groups and subsets within their racial group on the effect of government "help". In each case it was startling. One figure that has stuck in my mind was a comparison of black women and white women (aged 15-30, I think) that had children out-of-wedlock. Prior to the government "help" black women had a far lower rate of illegitimate birth than white women. After 20 years of government "help" those figures flipped completely. This study included years prior to the prevalence of abortion on demand.
My family is almost a mini-UN and I have found through experience with them and my extended family (and the history of my father's family) that accepting government largess is the first step toward failure, generally. In each case, within my family, it was an attitude that being on the "public dole" was to be shamed. Those who rose above that shame by getting off the "public dole" were believed to have not earned it.
Of those that refused the "dole", some stayed as working-poor, but proud. The majority became self sufficient and instilled that pride in their children and grand children. It is now our generation's job to carry on the pride. We like as little government as possible in our family's life.

involved in what are most frequently trotted out as racial disparities. You
bring up redlining without saying exactly with what about the practice you take
offense. Is it the fact that the subprime loans are granted in the first placde?
Or the fact that they are granted disproportionately to minorities?
The reason why Blacks (or Hispanics) find themselves with lower credit ratings
isn’t, I don’t think, intrinsic to race. We can trace the policies that got us

disproportionate traffic stops for Blacks in certain areas, etc.

A New Day
Last night I returned home with my son after a two day business trip within which he helped me big time. He may or may not decide to continue to work with me, but these 2 days that I got to spend with him was and is a sunrise fresh and clean. And beautiful.
Selfish? You bet your buns. Man-O-man, good Lord almighty, I'll take this selfishness as a sin if I get to do this again.
