Fla. governor calls special oil drilling session
Gov. Charlie Crist has called for a special session of the Legislature to permanently ban offshore oil drilling in Florida waters.
Crist on Thursday said the session is called for July 20 to 23.
Crist split with the Republican Party when it became apparent that Marco Rubio was going to shellac his hide. Now Crist is pulling stunts in an attempt to use fear for support as Rubio is once again edging past Crist in the polls.

SHOCK: Petty Dem Politicos Blame Bush For Gulf Spill
To hear Madam Pelosi and crew, it was those horrid Republicans that pushed oil companies far out into the Gulf to drill. Those capitalist running dog pigs wanted Big Oil to have to expend huge amounts of capital instead of letting them drill on land at less expense and less danger of problems.
Now Demos don't want the Repubs to see what they've wrought when actually they really really want them to see. See?
Oil spill visits get partisan
Rep. Steve Scalise (R-La.) wanted to fly 10 lawmakers down to the Gulf of Mexico to see the damage caused by BP’s gigantic oil spill first hand.
House Democrats said no.
.. but,
“Every Member should see the result of eight years of failed Bush-Cheney energy policies that have done nothing to secure our energy future,” said Pelosi spokesman Drew Hammill.
This is getting really tiresome. It is what you'd expect when you have such people as Pelosi, Reid, Waxman, et al in charge who then hire little toadies like Drew Hammill. When childish know-it-alls are in charge you have to expect childish behavior Maybe we should have hall monitors in Congress. It's a good idea until you ask which responsible person they would be sent to for reprimand and punishment. Obama? Yeah, him and Rahm Emanuel.

Gulf Oil Spills Onto Obama
The WH will appeal of course. Being caught with their pants down and egg on their face what else can they do. Obama went for the spotlight, botched the show and now has to admit he acted illegally and without precedent. In short, he acted like a rookie.

The believed competency of the administration has been an illusion from the start.

It seems incomprehensible that the president and other members of the administration still have jobs when it is now being reported that the federal government was apprised by BP on February 13 that the Deepwater Horizon oil rig was leaking oil and natural gas into the ocean floor.
In fact, according to documents in the administration's possession, BP was fighting large cracks at the base of the well for roughly ten days in early February.
Further it seems the administration was also informed about this development, six weeks before to the rig's fatal explosion when an engineer from the University of California, Berkeley, announced to the world a near miss of an explosion on the rig by stating, "They damn near blew up the rig."
It's also now being reported that BP was asking for the administration's help on this matter long before the deadly accident and the now gushing well of tar.

Is The Gulf Spill Clean Up A Hoax?
Instapundit has a reader who says it is. Others have suggested that the explosion was not an accident while others say that the clean up isn't being botched, it is purposely being not done to force a "comprehensive" energy package.
Is it better to appear to be an underhanded politicians or the Keystone Cops? Have voters finally come to understand that there may be no difference between the two?
Maybe the feds and the Obama Administration are telling the truth and they are just a bunch of incompetent boobs. They turn away help. They tell affected states to sit on their hands.They won't allow video or photographs unless they are in controlled situation such as Obama or someone weeping or kneeling on the beach as if in anguish.
Whoever is in charge, and it appears that Obama isn't capable of being in charge, they aren't getting the job done. Agencies across the federal government are stepping on each other's toes, countermanding the orders of other agencies, enforcing one law, but not another in a pattern that makes not sense and is definitely not working together.
This much disorganization going on for so long almost becomes plausible when seen through the lens of a hoax, especially in a light that exposes that this progressive administration really wants governmental control of business, industry, health and energy.
Maybe Axlerod was told that the dead whale had a "Save Obama" sticker on its tail.

TheKeystone Cops EPA couldn't even spell environment if it wasn't in their title, but they can shut down a farmer for a puddle in the north forty. If Obama is involved I'm sure there will be a "prevailing wage" argument over union versus volunteer workers as the oil spreads more and more. This gang in the WH is going to provide health care for all and save the world? They could be called the Hole in the Wall Gang except they can't find the wall let alone their hole. America Is Broke, $42K Per Citizen Owed, So Democrats Say "Raise Taxes On Oil!"
Actually, it now about $42,352.49 owed by each citizen of the United States to pay off the national debt. If calculated for just those that actually work, it is about double, but why worry? The Democrats will raise taxes to cover your share of the debt. Of course, you'll have to pay more taxes to cover the new taxes plus the ever rising national debt, but that's your problem because the Democrats are only here to help. Unfortunately, they actually believe that.

Senate Democrats are moving to quintuple the tax that oil companies pay into an oil spill liability fund.
The move would raise $15 billion over the coming decade as Congress seeks to shore up the fund in the wake of the catastrophic spill in the Gulf of Mexico. But it's also being used to ease a tax hike passed by the House on investment fund managers.
Of course the Democrats have also figured out how manufacturers, gas pumps and other sellers of oil based products like home heating oil will be able to ascertain at the point of sale who makes over $250,000 per year and who doesn't, because a promise is a promise and Obama would never break a promise. Like he would never raise taxes on those who make under $250,000, right?

Golf Gulf Disaster Competes For Obama's Attention
Known environmentalist Sir Paul McCartney jetted across the Atlantic to receive the Gershwin Award in a private concert at the White House from President Obama and his family and friends. I'm not sure if foreign policy and reponses to disasters are scheduled around Sasha and Malia's entertainment, but I would tell Sir Paul, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and others to check for President Obama's golf schedule to make sure he will have time for them.
As fishermen lose their jobs and businesses, as jobs slip away nationwide, as debt and deficits soar out of control and the Gulf of Mexico fills with crude, it's time for our President to sing "Hey Jude."
