Bill Batchelder for Speaker - Ohio

I am in absolute agreement with Right Angle and Viking Spirit concerning Bill Batchelder being elected Speaker of the House for Ohio. Mr. Batchelder has maintained his integrity, honesty and intellectual inquisitiveness all of his adult life.

As a young man he attended Ohio Wesleyan University in Delaware Ohio and took the conservative political point in a very liberal atmosphere. He did it with intelligence and good humor and won many people to his side and garnered the grudging admiration of many others, including professors. In the poisoned environment of Vietnam, rapidly changing morals and anti-American attitudes he took many a jab, some incredibly unfair, and bounced back to continue his march. As a very young man I saw it first hand.

Now, though not elected yet, Mr. Batchelder will lead in the House. Those that choose to follow will help maintain the Republican majority for years to come and hopefully will also bring Ohio back from the brink.

American and Iraqi soldiers take 6 Iranians in raid.

Iran shocked and dismayed by accusations of terror links.

One Iranian MP said it showed America's cruelty and meanness.

Oh, boo hoo.

STOP DA PRESSES!!!!!!

Our enemies, terrorist nations all, DON'T agree with President Bush concerning a troop surge to kick their collective asses out of Iraq!

In fact, they denounced President Bush.

TEHRAN, Iran (AP) — Iran and Syria on Thursday denounced President Bush's
new Iraq strategy that blames them for fueling violence in the war-torn country,
and they said the plan to send more U.S. troops would only increase bloodshed.
Bush's speech Wednesday night underlined his staunch rejection of
recommendations that Washington reach out to Syria and Iran in an attempt to
calm Iraq.

Instead, Bush set out plans to isolate the two countries, calling on
help from Arab allies and vowing to cut off Syrian and Iranian aid to militants
in Iraq. He announced the deployment of an additional aircraft carrier battle
group and Patriot air defense missiles to the region — seen as muscle-flexing
toward Iran.

In Tehran, Foreign Ministry spokesman Mohammad Ali Hosseini said Bush's
plan to send 21,000 more troops to Iraq was a "continuation of occupation" that
will only "extend insecurity, danger and tension in the country. This will not
help to solve Iraq's problems."
Syrian Vice President Farouk al-Sharaa said
Wednesday prior to Bush's speech that the American troop surge was "not a
positive step" and would only "pour oil on the fire."

Oh, others have denounced President Bush's goal to win also. Their names are:

Obama
Sharpton
Clinton
Dodd
Biden
Gore
Edwards
Kerry
Kucinich
Vilsack
Richardson
Clark

Congress is a coward

or just a bunch of hack politicians.

I think Congress is the new Butcher of Baghdad.

The Marine and the professor

I just came across this blog Blonde Sagacity which had this story. Dear sweet God I wish it were true. Most people who had to listen to this crap in college would cheer to see this happen to the vapid windbag they had to sit and listen to.

Maybe you've seen this before, but someone sent it and I just had to post
it... It reminded me of a true story from when my mom was in school. She had a
philosophy professor that wrote "God is Dead" -Nietzsche on the board and before
he got into class she wrote "Nietzsche is Dead" -God underneath. He was not
amused..."A United States Marine was attending some college courses between
assignments. He had completed missions in Iraq and Afghanistan. One of the
courses had a professor who was a vowed atheist and a member of the ACLU.

One day the professor shocked the class when he came in. He looked to the
ceiling and flatly stated, "God, if you are real, then I want you to knock me
off this platform. I'll give you exactly 15 minutes." The lecture room fell
silent. You could hear a pin drop. Ten minutes went by and the professor
proclaimed, "Here I am God. I'm still waiting." It got down to the last couple
of minutes when the Marine got out of his Chair, went up to the professor, and
cold-cocked him; knocking him off the platform. The professor was out
cold.

The Marine went back to his seat and sat there, silently. The other
students were shocked and stunned and sat there looking on in silence. The
professor eventually came to, noticeably shaken, looked at the Marine and asked,
"What the hell is the matter with you? Why did you do that?" The Marine calmly
replied, "God was too busy today protecting America 's soldiers who are
protecting your right to say stupid shit and act like an asshole. So, He sent
me."

Oh, if only...

Ka-POW!! BTW, great blog Blonde!

Dennis Kucinich fathers two idiots

Sen. Sherrod Brown, D-Ohio, who made opposition to Bush’s Iraq policy a
centerpiece of his campaign against GOP Sen. Mike DeWine, called for an
"up-or-down vote" to determine whether senators "support the escalation of this
war or not."

Brown also said that when Bush asks Congress for additional money to pay
for the buildup, lawmakers should approve the bill "with instructions that the
president use this money to redeploy troops safely — in the most orderly way —
out of Iraq."

Rep. Dennis J. Kucinich, D-Cleveland, who is running for the 2008
presidential nomination, went further. In a speech Monday in New York, Kucinich
unveiled his plan to "end the occupation" of Iraq by U.S. forces, pay
reparations, close bases and withdraw.

He wants to replace the U.S. forces with an international peacekeeping
force, although there is little sign that any collection of nations wants to
send troops to Iraq.

Rep. Zack Space, D-Dover, complained that the administration has yet to
spell out how a troop surge will bring about success in Iraq. "Without a clear
plan and a clear objective, I fear that a troop increase will only deepen the
disaster that our Iraq policy has become."

Sherrod Brown, still smoking after all these years, has announced his foreign policy plan and decided how the Commander in Chief will conduct military matters in Iraq. Zack Space is already complaining that Bush hasn't announced to the enemy our military plans which, no doubt, is also vexing the murderous terrorists wanting to humiliate the U. S. in Iraq and before the world. Twins Sherrod and Space obviously are anxious to help the little bastards in their goal of solidifying and growing their Jihad in Iraq and beyond. It is unimportant to the twins that free Iraqis will be stomped on, tortured and killed just so that today they can get some face time in their beloved Cleveland Pain Dealer.

Sound familiar? It should. Dennis "the menace" Kucinich has been a progressive, code for socialist, for years and has been spouting the same lying lines while drooling nonsense that he wants "the Goddess of Peace to encircle within her arms" all the children of the world. Just not Arab children. He doesn't care if they rot and die or are simply murdered.

So Sherrod and Space, welcome to your new family. Who's your daddy now?

Attention heirs to English throne: Where are you?

LONDON (Reuters) - An international quest is being launched for historical
heirs to the throne of England.

Advertisements appearing this week in British, U.S., Australian, German
and Norwegian newspapers will ask "Can you trace your family tree back to 1066?
Might your ancestors have claimed the English throne?"
Edgar Aetheling was named heir apparent by his great-uncle King Edward the Confessor but was not crowned when the King died in 1066 because he was too young. Harold II was crowned instead.

William the Conqueror crossed over from Normandy, defeating Harold at
the Battle of Hastings. The teenage Aetheling later submitted to William.

English Heritage, which seeks to protect the country's historical
environment, asks in its advertisements: "Are you of Edgar the Aetheling's
lineage and believe you have a legitimate claim?"

I'm checking. This could really increase my net worth. Shouldn't you? If we could put a conservative on the throne of England, well, just maybe they'd quit acting like a bunch of Nancy smancy Pelosis.

Double your net worth!

I did when I found out how much this blog was worth.

I am going to track my fortune with the Technorati icon on the lower left margin.

You laugh, but soon I'll be selling my old Vanowagon and moving up to a 1970 Lesabre!

Ha, then you'll see! Ah, you ladies can't wait. can't you?

Kennedy: Bush must dance to our tune

Written in the margin in invisible ink.

"There can be no doubt that the Constitution gives Congress the authority to decide whether to fund military action, and Congress can demand a justification from the president for such action before it appropriates the funds to carry it out," Kennedy said.

What will this man not run away from? besides scotch.

UPDATE: Edward Markey, who is at least 2 cards short of a deck, supports Kennedy! How quaint that two stupid old men support the murder of innocent Iraqis that want to live free. Oh, they have always supported despots that murder, maim and torture in the name of a better society. Can anyone tell me just how more stupid Markey is than Teddy? Is that possible?

NYT- Critics claim no plan for the peace

LAT- Insufficient forces claimed by Jackson's staff

A ragtag band of about 4,500 frontiersmen, pirates, and slaves led by
General Andrew Jackson defeat 5,300 British troops at the Battle of New Orleans, suffering just 71 casualties while inflicting more than 2,000 British casualties. Ironically, a peace treaty ending the War of 1812 had been signed in Ghent, Belgium on December 24. 1815

Strickland delays execution

Ted needs more time to study whether Kenneth Biros should be executed.
Her head and right breast were hacked off. Her naked torso had been
eviscerated, the anus, rectum, bowels, bladder, and sex organs removed as
well. Later investigators discovered Tami's intestines, black leather coat,
and shoe in a swampy area near a set of railroad tracks Biros led them to.
Tami's blood was all over the gravel and the tracks themselves. Most of the
rest of her was found in the other dumping area, but at least part of her
liver was recovered from the trunk of Biros's car.

It turned out that Biros had invited Tami Engstrom to see the "cabin"
in his back yard. The cabin turned out to be an ordinary concrete shed in the
middle of the woods behind the house. Once he got her into the woods he tried to
rape her, then killed her by beating and stabbing her; the coroner determined
that she suffered ninety-one injuries and stab wounds before she died, including
at least five knife wounds after she was dead. The blood on his clothes and
shoes, as well as in the woods behind the house, would help convict him. He
carried her body in his car to desolate fields in Pennsylvania and tried to
dispose of it, but was under arrest just two days later.

When a person like Biros has torn the very fabric of society, he is no longer part of that society. Tami Engstrom was murdered and dismembered after an attempted rape on the night of February 7, 1991.

No wonder Ted took office under the cover of darkness.

Oh, and I hear the football team is pretty good as well.

UPDATE: Well, the band was good. The staff did not do what the team needed. Florida was pumped and ready to do what it needed to do to win. Ohio State had no direction and it showed.

First strike: Tressal

Don't go for another strike. Woody will rise from the grave and bitch-slap you faster than a coach who said Michgan might win.

Ohio Governor enters office under cover of darkness

It is going to be an odd couple of years fo Ohio. Prision psychologist and ordained Methodist minister along with hootenanny Franny are not now the first couple of Ohio. They became so just after midnight earlier today as most of Ohio slept.

Fran Strickland might publish a book of music because she can't cook and Ted plans to focus on residency ethics and be one with the people.
