House overrides Taft veto

Republicans act like Republicans.

About four hours after Gov. Bob Taft vetoed a bill revamping Ohio's concealed-carry handgun law, the House voted 71-21 to override the veto.

The bill tweaks a number of areas involving concealed handguns, such as no longer requiring people in vehicles to carry guns in a locked container or in plain sight. The bill allows the gun to be carried in a holster or a purse, as long as the driver, if pulled over, informs an officer that he or she is carrying a gun.
