Kennedy Seeks To Change Law He Instigated To Ensure Liberal MA Senator

When John "Did You Know I Was In Vietnam" Kerry was running for president Ted Kennedy got the law in Massachusetts changed so the Republican governor couldn't name an interim senator if Kerry won and vacated his senate seat.

Now that Kennedy appears to vacating the seat soon he wants the now Democrat governor, Deval L. Patrick, to change the law back to what it had been before Kennedy got it changed to ensure a liberal Democrat be seated.

Zach Space Knows He's In Trouble

He knows he's in trouble when he has to ring up newspapers and say:

"I think some people are trying to create this impression that I have been running away from having town-hall meetings, and that's just not true," Space said. "I've been holding telephone town halls, where I can talk to, like, 1,500 people. I can't reach everybody; I have a 16-county district. But I have been able to reach 5,000 to 10,000 people with the telephone town halls on various subjects, people who call in with questions or who listen in."

He said in past years he was discouraged when only a few people would show up to announced town-hall meetings, so telephone town halls have been a more effective way of connecting with his constituents.

If you're not up to the job, don't run for office again. Which is a splendid idea.

Cash For Clunkers A Failure

As planned, the only beneficiary are the unions which paid Obama for a seat at the board table. Oh, and Japanese car makers.

Car Dealers Reviews reported, via Free Republic:
The National Automobile Dealers Association is urging the federal government to begin shutting down the Cash for Clunkers program immediately.

In a statement released Wednesday evening, NADA said that, given the rapid pace at which deals are being done, it will be difficult to say when the program’s funds may run out.

But Transportation Secretary Ray LaHood said earlier Wednesday that all dealers would be reimbursed.

However, the NADA said, in its statement, that the group had “confirmed elsewhere” that dealers would not get paid if cash ran out.

Although, according to press reports, Secretary LaHood stated today that “there will be no car dealer that won’t be reimbursed,” NADA believes that this is based on DOT’s view that sufficient funds remain available. It is important to note that NHTSA has confirmed elsewhere that if the program’s money runs out before a dealer is reimbursed, that dealer will not be paid.

In a survey nearly 800 dealers,
97% of dealers who responded, say the government is not reimbursing fast enough
13% of dealers have dropped out the program because the government is not reimbursing fast enough and overall concern payment problems
87% percent of dealers are concerned the money will be exhausted
3% of CARS program deals have been reimbursed 66% of dealers have not received one payment from the government
25% of dealers are experiencing servere cash flow problems that require short-term loans to fix 11% of submitted applications have been approved (though dealers still are waiting for the money)
16% of submitted applications have been rejected
55% of dealers are not confident they will get reimbursed for every deal
40% do not want the program to continue, even if changes are made to the CARS program

If the respondents to this poll are found out we should see another round of dealerships being closed. That is the Chicago style.

AARP Losing Tens Of Thousands Of Members

But those tens of thousands don't mean much to AARP. Now, but if the other members who joined to get discounts on everything under the sun find out just how rotten AARP is the numbers may grow. A lot.

CBS News has learned that up to 60,000 people have cancelled their AARP memberships since July 1, angered over the group's position on health care.

Elaine Guardiani has been with AARP for 14 years, and said, "I'm extremely disappointed in AARP."

Retired nurse Dale Anderson has 12 years with AARP and said, "I don't wanna be connected with AARP."

Many are switching to the American Seniors Association, a group that calls itself the conservative alternative as CBS News Investigative Correspondent Sharyl Attkisson reports.

Last week alone, they added more than 5,000 new members. Our camera was there Friday when the mail came.

AARP says for a group with 40 million members that adds hundreds of thousands each month, losing 60 thousand is just a drop in the bucket. But to the much smaller American Seniors Association it's a flood.

We know what to expect from the likes of Kucinich, Kaptur and the rest of the Demos in Ohio, but how strong are members such as Space and Driehaus?

Will they vote against the interests of their constituents again, especially for something as high profile as ObamaCare as Massa of New York says he will do?



Rep. Massa: I will vote against the interests of my district
Representative Eric Massa (D- NY) addressed an intimate group of Netroots activists during their annual Netroots Nation gathering in Pittsburgh this weekend. Mr. Massa reiterated his support for a single payer health care bill. He discussed the risks he takes for wanting to support such a measure in his "right wing Republican district."

According to Swing State Project, Mr. Massa won his 2008 race by two percentage points. The district's voting pattern index (PVI) is a Republican +5 seat. The National Republican Congressional Committee has the upstate New York congressman in their sights for 2010 along with 69 other House Democrats as reported by Politico. The transcript is below, and check out the corresponding video above.

MASSA: I’m not going to vote for 3200 as it’s currently written. Step one, I will vote for a single payer option or a bill that does have a medicare coupled public option, which we don’t have right now. If my town hall meetings turn into the same media frenzies and ridiculousness, because every time that happens we lose. We lose another three million people in America. They see that happening and negate us.
PARTICIPANT: It changes America.
MASSA: Every time that occurs. So what happens in my town hall meetings frankly is important, because I am in one of the most right wing Republican districts in the country, and I’m not asking you guys to go back to wherever and send people to me. This is a generic statement of what can I do? Well that’s one thing we can do.
PARTICIPANT: So if we got your meetings to sixty forty, you’d vote…and there was single payer in a bill you would vote for it?
MASSA: Oh absolutely I would vote for single payer.
PARTICIPANT: If there was sixty forty sentiment in the room?
MASSA: Listen, I tell every audience I’m in favor of single payer.
PARTICIPANT: If there was eighty twenty in the room?
MASSA: If there was a single payer bill?
PARTICIPANT: And there was a single payer….
MASSA: I will vote for the single payer bill.
PARTICIPANT: Even if it meant you were being voted out of office?
MASSA: I will vote adamantly against the interests of my district if I actually think what I am doing is going to be helpful.

That he said this at a NetRoots' meeting makes it even more apparent that there are those that don't care what Americans think.

When it comes to having past views that should frighten every American citizen, Ezekiel Emanuel (see above editorial) has nothing on the president's "chief science adviser," John P. Holdren. The combination of Mr. Holdren with Dr. Emanuel should make the public seriously concerned with this administration's moral compass concerning care for the old and weak.

Earlier this month, Mr. Holdren served as co-chairman when the President's Council of Advisors on Science and Technology met for the first time. It's a disgrace that Mr. Holdren is even on the council. In "Ecoscience: Population, Resources, Environment," a book he co-authored in 1977 with noted doomsayers Paul R. and Anne H. Erlich, Mr. Holdren wrote: "Indeed, it has been concluded that compulsory population-control laws, even including laws requiring compulsory abortion, could be sustained under the existing Constitution if the population crisis became sufficiently severe to endanger the society."

There are some seriously sick people surrounding Obama. Administrations reflect the theories and thoughts of American presidents. What does that say about Obama?

Why Are Obama, Pelosi And Libs Insulting Older Americans?

Obama says that doctors are butchering patients for profit. Tonsils, appendages, etc getting lobbed off for just profit, not because the operations are prudent and necessary, but just for profit.

A health care bill over 1,000 pages and nobody has read it it seems and wouldn't understand it or agree on what it means if they did. Congress-skrit is harder to decipher that Sanskrit. Lawyer crapskrit makes Sanskrit, by comparison, easy to read.

End of life talk is in the bill, but the bills supporters says it doesn't really mean anything. It's just there. It's also just an idea that maybe an older person needing a pacemaker or heart surgery should just take an aspirin, according to Obama.

Now that people all across the nation are hearing what possibilities are in Congress' health care bill they are asking questions, protesting and getting angry. They are getting angry because people like Reps. Zach Space and Betty Sutton are not meeting with constituents and other Reps can't answer questions about the health care reform bill.

Where Reps are meeting with constituents in town hall meetings people are showing up in greater and greater numbers and they are angry. These Reps have responded by calling them Nazis, KKKers, members of a mob, ignorant and racists. Now that this tactic is failing these Reps are supplying faux protesters calling Obama a Hitler and other things. These fake protesters are plants being paid by these Reps, unions, liberal groups and the democrat Party.

Look at the photographs of the events. Who are these despicable people? A great many of them are elderly. A great many are children of elderly parents that are sick and scared to death over this government takeover of life and death decisions.

But Pelosi, Libs and Obama show nothing but disregard and disrespect to them. They insult their intelligence. They insult their right to debate and ask questions. They insult their concern. They insult the people that made this country great.

My father died of a fourth heart attack caused by a work ethic that wouldn't allow him to slow down. His patients needed him no matter what time, what day and generally on all of our birthdays, Christmas and all the other holidays as well. My mother died after a very long battle with Alzheimer's.

I am insulted that Obama, Pelosi and Libs are insulting their memory. My father served in the military to fight Nazism. My mother worked tirelessly while he served to supply nursing care to the returning wounded, the poor and any other person that needed it as she raised the beginnings of our large family. I am insulted because my parents would be right in there protesting, debating and caring about the outcome of this horrendous idea of government health care.

My parents fought the Nazis. My parents thwarted the KKK and took in patients no matter what color they were or if they could pay. My parents pushed back on the Mob. My father had to hide, as a young man, when he was a reporter for the Akron Beacon Journal because he named the names of the Irish Mafia that murdered the Italian couple that helped raise him as his mother worked 2-3 jobs just to make ends meet. He became a doctor because each night he saw their twisted, mangled bodies that have been violated with shotguns and there wasn't anything he could do to help them, but try to push their organs back into their bodies and hope that would help. He helped people for a lifetime.

My mother and father were passionate about the United States of America and the freedoms endowed by the Creator that America enjoys. Now they would be called Nazis? They would be called KKKers? They would be called members of a Mob? They would be called racists?

I wish my parents were alive today to join these American protesters. These protesters are the people that made this country greater than it was when they came into this world. They are not the protesters that wish to tear down this great experiment in a freedom.

Many voices of the Obama administration claim that "unAmerican" Americans are flooding district constituent meetings to thwart any reform of our health care system which has been irreparably broken by greedy capitalists such as doctors, nurses, insurance companies, drug companies and stupid sick people. Ergo, they feel they must stop these unpatriotic interlopers by demanding proof that they actually live in the representative's meeting district.

Again, back in 2006, Sen. Mitch McConnell wanted to add a voter identification requirement to an immigration reform bill and a commenter at the Democrat Underground grandly summed up the feelings of Democrats concerning the issue, "I was watching all those traitorius Republicans vote to disenfranchise all the people who didn't go and get their picture taken for the ID card." Thank goodness those "UnAmerican" senators didn't get this "traitorous" amendment passed. Disenfranchisement of illegal voters is wrong, eh?

It is ironic that Demos feel that ensuring the integrity of their meetings is important, but the integrity of the vote isn't, isn't it? One could assume that it is about controlling the message, but it is really about controlling the vote whether in Peoria or Washington, DC.

Just this past weekend, he lashed out again at these claims, calling them “outlandish rumors”.

Perhaps the White House should stop and consider that most of these “rumors” have been generated by members of his own party, who have admitted that the public option will over time lead to a fully nationalized, single-payer system. It all started with the clip we discovered of Rep. Jan Schakowsky (D-IL) back in April. Followed by Sen. Russ Feingold (D-WI). And more recently, this clip of Rep. Barney Frank (D-MA), which was also first brought to light by VS.

Perhaps the White House should also consider that high profile media supporters of the President’s plan have also played a key role in initiating these crazy rumors. Most directly (and amusingly) there is this video we discovered and posted of Washington Post reporter Ezra Klein. And that great sage of liberal economic wisdom – Paul Krugman – recently got into the act as well.

But if all of this is STILL not enough for the Administration to consider that perhaps these “rumors” are not so unfounded after all, I have another rumor-monger to submit for the record. The President himself. From a “Fact Check” posted on the Obama campaign web site in Jan. 2008, quoting Senator Obama:

Within this apocalyptic vision, curbing economic growth and redistributing wealth become duties.

“A massive campaign must be launched to restore a high-quality environment in North America and to de-develop the United States,” Holdren and the Ehrlichs wrote in the conclusion of “Human Ecology.” “The need for de-development presents our economists with a major challenge. They must design a stable, low-consumption economy in which there is a much more equitable distribution of wealth than in the present one. Redistribution of wealth both within and among nations is absolutely essential, if a decent life is to be provided to every human being.”

Now, it appears the Obama has a Human Ecology Czar. Figures. Czars used to order pogoms, why not today, eh?

Obama Uncut: 15 To 20 Years and Socialized Medicine

The White House and their allies are spinning this story like mad trying to imply, in some cases stating, that it is a lie and that candidate Obama never spoke of making the government a one stop shop for all your health care needs. That Obama never spoke of a time when there would be no more private health care. They can spin all the want, but Obama said it.

other questions, which is coverage, there are only a few ways of getting there. Could you at least give us a sense of where your thinking is on this? Have you accepted or rejected any of the concepts like an employer mandate or require that employers provide coverage? An individual mandate where people would have to buy into the system the way they do with auto insurance?

Are you wedded, for instance, to this idea, as the first two candidates were, that we
basically should stick with this system in which most people get their coverage from their employers or have you found any positives to the idea that's being offered by your colleague, Ron Wyden, to essentially break that system and come up with a new one? Could you at least give us a sense of, you know, which possibilities here intrigue you and which ones that maybe you're dismissing at this point?

BARACK OBAMA: Well, we have a plan that we are in the process of unveiling. What
we want to do is try to set up a series of round table discussions before we actually
announce it. Not just with experts, which we've already done, but rather with frontline workers, with nurses, with doctors, with consumers, which we're going to be scheduling over the next couple of months in terms of rolling it out. But let me just address a couple of points.

As I indicated before, I think that we're going to have to have some system where people can buy into a larger pool. Right now their pool typically is the employer, but there are other ways of doing it. I would like to -- I would hope that we could set up a system that allows those who can go through their employer to access a federal system or a state pool of some sort. But I don't think we're going to be able to eliminate employer coverage immediately. There's going to be potentially some transition process. I can envision a decade out or 15 years out or 20 years out where we've got a much more portable system. Employers still have the option of providing coverage, but many people may find that they get better coverage, or at least coverage that gives them more for health care dollars than they spend outside of their employer. And I think we've got to facilitate that and let individuals make that choice to transition out of employer coverage.

I do believe that employers are going to have to pay or play. I think that employers either have to provide health care coverage for their employees or they've got to make a decision that they're going to help pay for those who don't have coverage outside the employer system. So I think that's one important principle. And as I said, the second important principle is that we're going to have to put more money into prevention, more money into chronic care management, more money into medical technology, because that is how we're going to accrue the savings that help us provide subsidies to those who don't already have it.

So private business will have to pay or play? Which company can complete with the government? Sure, Obama says that there will still be private coverage, but he plans that it will only be able to survive for 15 to 20 years and then we will have bureaucrats deciding our health care.

This isn't creeping Socialism, it is leaping Socialism. And Obama and his handlers are making the plans.

GIULIANI: He's actually right. It is teachable. Here's the lesson.

GIULIANI: You shut up. And also — and also, shut up when a cop like is asking you questions. How about you don't insult him, you don't yell, you don't scream? My father taught me that when I was very young. I grew up in Brooklyn. It was a good lesson. Not a bad lesson. Colin Powell said essentially the same thing.

Good advice. Shut up and govern based on our Constitution, not as a bunch of know-it-all faux intellectuals. We don't want your help and we definitely do not need your imposition of your lack of traditional values foisted onto our long held and well thought out system of society.

But we will still help you down some steps and to cross a street if you need it. That is our way.

Franken, who was seated talking to someone else, did not stand when Pickens said hello. Instead, Franken began to berate him about the billionaire’s financing of the Swift Boat ads in 2004.

Franken is up to being a lapdog for the left or a campaign junk-yard dog for progressive and socialist causes, but he's severely lacking as a comedian, radio host and senator.

...Mr. Gates challenged police to explain why they would believe "a white woman over a black man".

Gates opened the door and exclaimed "Why? Because I'm a black man in America?"

I then asked Gates if there was anyone else in the residence. While yelling, he told me that it none of my business and accused me of being a racist police officer.

And if he had seen the police report, he would have seen that the description, done by a Hispanic officer who wrote up the report, says that Gates came out of there with a lot of anger, fury at the police, raised the race issue, was talking about the policeman's mother, making all sorts of profane comments, and pushing the issue.

BAIER: And in fact, the Cambridge police said today said at this press conference that the house had been burglarized just recently.

WILLIAMS: Correct.

And so the cops were called there not to harass anybody. Somebody saw a break-in taking place, and by all accounts, he was forcing the door to the house. The cops come in, and I think the cops from all the reporting, and Gates is not denying any of the reporting, did what they were supposed to do.

I think graciousness has reached new heights in America when a Harvard professor of racial relations finds it necessary to send flowers for acting racist.

His Mother would be proud.
