BLAME BUSH! Why Not?

When all of one's plans for the economy only makes it worse and you haven't a clue what to do, blame Bush. It's easy, it will make you feel better and all of your like minded friends will nod their heads and stroke their chins in a sage repose of wisdom.

Record number in government anti-poverty programs

Government anti-poverty programs that have grown to meet the needs of recession victims now serve a record one in six Americans and are continuing to expand.

Obama: "It Took Nearly A Decade To Dig The Hole That We're In"

President Obama criticizes the economic policies of former President Bush and the current "partisan minority" in Congress. Obama asks Republicans to drop the economic "blockade."

Obama says he ignored Beck rally... Drudge

“It’s not surprising that somebody like a Mr. Beck is able to stir up a certain portion of the country. That's been true throughout our history,” he said. But “what I’m focused on is making sure that the decisions we’re making now are going to be be not good for the nightly news, not good even necessarily for the next election, but are good for the next generation.”

I am sure that President Obama, being the highly educated professor that he says he is, has heard of the "bully pulpit." He might reach back in his memory and even remember that that bear shootin' SOB, Teddy Roosevelt, defined it clearly and understood its use completely.

The caveat to the bully pulpit is that one can speak to people's values or one can plant a seed of thought, but one can never speak to the baseness of man nor plant a seed in a barren field of ideas and expect growth.

Beck spoke to the moral character of our nation and planted the seed of returning to America's greatness and it works because people believe him and believe in that which he spoke. Obama has yet to learn that just sayin' it don't make it so. Tough for a professor to grasp, but with time he can get his head around such an idea or ideal, if you will.

Murkowski Is Like Crist: Screw'em. Give Me The Power And The Money

NRSC Triptik

Murkowski, like Crist of Florida, might be busy proving that they are little republican in the Republican Party that believe only in themselves and are only out for themselves. That the NRSC is assisting her in undermining real Republicans in Alaska is a sign of bureaucratic bloatedness and comfort in positions they feel are no longer answerable to Republican voters nationwide.

300,000 - 500,000 people in front of the Lincoln Memorial feel differently. The left is paying close attention to that rally to find imagined racism and any other fault they can find. The Republican power elites seem to not only have not heard of the rally, but seem to have forgotten where the Lincoln Memorial is sited. If they were to find the memorial they'd be able to read Lincoln's words and then possibly find their way back to believing in what the Republican Party stands for.

If they don't know where the Lincoln Memorial is they just have to remember the next time they go to the Public Affairs Office for the US Mint for some coin, that they continue on west to their favorite, the Bureau of Engraving and Printing. Then hop back on Independence Ave going west until they see the Lincoln Memorial on the right. Maybe it might be more simple to just ask any tourist in town to guide them.

Once there they will find Lincoln quotes such as, "Allow all the governed an equal voice in the government, and that, and that only, is self-government," which is actually part of this quote, "I have quoted so much at this time merely to show that, according to our ancient faith, the just powers of governments are derived from the consent of the governed. Now the relation of master and slave is pro tanto a total violation of this principle. The master not only governs the slave without his consent, but he governs him by a set of rules altogether different from those which he prescribes for himself. Allow all the governed an equal voice in the government, and that, and that only, is self-government."

Remember the "just powers of government" part of the quote if remembering all of it is just too much.

NPR First In Media To Lie About Beck Rally In DC

Photos: Glenn Beck Rally Has People Seeing Red ‎

NPR - 17 minutes ago

Thousands turned out to hear Glenn Beck and Sarah Palin speak in front of the Lincoln Monument in Washington, DC, on Saturday.

It may actually be that "thousands" listen to NPR coast to coast. There were a tad more than thousands at the "Restoring Honor" rally in DC. 300,000 to 500,000 people turned up in the Federal City for the rally. There are no crowd estimates for those who may or may not be listening to NPR.

Liberal Heads Exploding Over Beck Rally

They're calling it a Nazi rally. Some are saying it is the largest KKK rally in years. The knee slapping crowd is calling it Whitestock. Whatever they are calling it they seem to be really scared of Beck and his rally.

On Twitter the left is full of snark.

Meanwhile at Whitestock or the rally, whatever, an American Indian is giving a medal to a black preacher who attended the Republican MLK rally held there many years ago. The left is angry that such men of color would try to "steal" the heritage of the Civil Rights movement, especially when they speak of Jesus. They left wants Jesus to be a communist and MLK to be agnostic when they want to use them for their political ends.

On other sites leftists question whether Beck will allow God and MLK to be mentioned and then ridicule him when they are not only mentioned, but held in the highest esteem. Others want to have answer to that burning question, are Beck and Palin being paid and if so, how much? The theme is that capitalists can be bought to speak on behalf of anything, unlike any on the left. That the great unwashed rubes of America attending the rally are really what is wrong about America, unlike those on the left. That people that want less government intrusion, less power and less spending are the problem, unlike the left.

This is what makes the left so open to other ideas.

Michigan Dems In Fraud Against McCotter & Other Republicans.

It is still uncertain if McCotter's opponent Natalie Mosher' campaign was involved, but party officials in Oakland County, Michigan had to fire one of their employees (after it was published that the Democrat Party official) started a fake "Tea Party" to try and siphon votes away from McCotter and other Republicans.

DEM commissioners call for party worker's removal

"[W]e ask for the immediate removal of Jason Bauer as an employee of the Oakland County Democratic Party. Our caucus members and candidates demand the highest ethical standards of ourselves, our government and our party, and any violation of those standards must have real and significant consequences.”

Yep, turn on the lights and watch them scatter.

Rich Care For Petraeus Moist With Crocodile Tears

Oh, weep for the brave warrior as Frank Rich weeps. Must we allow our brave warriors fall on the sword of neo con stupidity? If only we had the stamina to wake each morning and look hard into the mirror and see ourselves as Rich can only see himself.

How Fox Betrayed Petraeus

It’s poignant, really. Even as America’s most venerable soldier returned from the front to valiantly assume the role of Willy Loman, the product he was selling was being discredited and discontinued by his own self-proclaimed allies at home.

Poignant? Ah, exactly the word I'd expect Frank to use to describe any situation of a soldier. Really, I expect that type of sensitivity from Frank. Frank is so sensitive he must, late on dark nights, quote to himself, "I realized what a ridiculous lie my whole life has been" and wonder if his brother was right at last.

Individual $44K Per Person National Debt Obligation Far From What It Should Be

To paraphrase John Paul Jones, Obama whispers to aides, "I have not yet begun to spend!"

USA DEBT: $13,310,379,000,000.00

$44,000 PER CITIZEN...

Actually, Americans need to cough up more than a mere $44K per person on the debt when it is costing about $75K per day for the Obamas to vacation and that's just Marie Antoinette Michelle. That's a $31K disparity. Time to buck up John and Jane Q. Publick.

Of course the Obamas, even on vacation, can't swim in the sea of poo surrounding Martha's Vineyard, but us mere taxpayers already know that feeling.

Sociology Students Feel Put Upon By Visit To Creation Museum And Ethnography 'Proves' It

I wonder if sociology students are upset when creationists are forced to listen to the evolution theory in government supported classes or are confronted with a belief they disagree with in museums on the National Mall that spout evolution as fact?

Would they be upset? No, because that would mean that they would have to believe the rubes have a belief different than theirs, but just as viable. That is something they only will not do, but they will also openly laugh at such an idea. They are that sure that they are correct that it allows them to mock, belittle, laugh at and get articles so full of crock as the one below published about their publishing a "scientific" paper base on ethnographyy. Ethnography, a subjective narrative based on one's bias, is considered a scientific research by those that agree with its findings. An example might be, "Jews act badly, in my opinion, towards Palestinians, ergo my bias against Jews and for Palestinians is correct."

When sociology students visit Creation Museum
A professor of sociology led a field trip through Kentucky's Creation Museum, a fundamentalist Christian facility. The professor found that non-fundamentalists felt uncomfortable there. Museum officials say they've received death threats and the site sometimes draws anti-Creationist protesters.

Barton combined hours of observation and analysis of museum materials into an ethnography, a detailed narrative about a place and its culture that is often used in sociology. Unlike other research methods, the ethnography does not strive for impartiality; rather, the researchers recognize and reflect on their own reactions to what they see. (read the entire article)

APB: Zack Space Missing Again!

Zack wasn't at the OEC when they found he had made false statements in campaign ads.

Zack announced mucho bucks for broadband access. From where he announced nobody knows. He must have been out scouting placement of lines because he just announced it, but wasn't there to announce it in person.

Zack might be at Ground Zero doing inspections because he hasn't been around to state his position on the subject. Maybe he was in Las Vegas chatting up Harry Reid on the subject.

Zack might also beal so chatting up the SEIU and other previous union supporters about his brave vote against government health care. Or was his vote against the fact that the bill didn't go far enough? $25,000 is $25,000 and it beats having to actually meet with constituents and ask for donations.

Zack might be out there helping coal miners dig a little bit as contrition for screwing them out of their jobs by supporting Cap and Trade. Maybe. He hasn't been seen talking to his voters or giving them advice on how to pay the thousands of extra dollars in taxes to pay for it. Maybe that is what he's talking to the coal miners about. Well, that and how they're going to pay extra being out of work and all.

Wait! We found Zack! At least we found where he has spent some of his money. He is attacking people that disagree with him because they don't live in the district except they obviously know where the district is. Maybe Zack was the one filming. The video is taken from far away and is pretty shaky. Distant and shaky? Maybe we really have found Zack.

Maybe Zack is hiding out at Bob Gibbs rallies. It's not like anyone would recognize him. It's tough actually talking to constituents, especially when it takes so much time away from trolling Washington DC for campaign donations and support to the tune of $1,115,303.

I hope Zack calls home soon. There might be people worried about him

All I Want Is A Hibachi

Home Depot? Nada.
Lowes? Zip.
Sears? Only online (I want one now. Not next week)
Target? They have something called Son of Hibachi which means daddy isn't the real daddy.
Local patio store? Yep, they have a foofoo French model. For $110.00. Ain't happening.
Krogers? I asked and got a stare that only a dead fish could love.
Giant Eagle? "Honey, that's a great suggestion. We should get some in."
Lawn and Garden shop nearby? "We only sell real grills!"
Gander Mountain? Nope, but they had a cast iron pan I could hold over a fire.

With this administration's economy I might have better luck checking pawn shops.

Hidden Agendas To Use Capital To Destroy Capitalism

Paco has a post on the unelected who elect to rule us through privately funded groups. Mix in all of the unelected bureaucrats who actually make law from the local to the state to the federal level and there occurs trillions of dollars through these innocent sounding foundations and tax dollars. If that's not enough to get your panties in a twist read some of these sites.

Start here:

Who elected these people?

Then go to this site which is actually a few years behind:

Obama Easing Restrictions On Travel To Cuba For Castro Cultists

What's not to love about a stinky old dictator and the gulags, poverty and death he brought to Cuba?

U.S. plans to ease travel to Cuba: lawmaker's aide

This should make it so much easier for the likes of Spielberg, Costner, Belafonte, and the other stars that genuflect to the scum like Castro, to go see a society locked in the 1950s. Unfortunately, they will never ask to speak to dissidents and prisoners. They're actors and reality scares them.

Obama & Holder Use Federal Threat Of Law To Bully Opponents

Case in point is Sheriff Joe. The boys in Washington are ticked off at all things Arizona and especially Sheriff Joe Arpaio. I too would be ticked if I had acted so incredibly stupid that a mere sheriff could make me, the president, look like a complete fool.

U.S. may sue Arizona's Sheriff Arpaio for not cooperating in investigation
The investigations reflect the tangled politics surrounding the immigration debate. The criminal probe is led by Dennis K. Burke, the U.S. attorney in Phoenix who was a top aide to Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano.

Two of Arpaio's attorneys, Robert N. Driscoll and Asheesh Agarwal, were officials in the Justice Department's civil rights division in the George W. Bush administration. They denied that the sheriff, a Republican who has been reelected four times since 1992, has been uncooperative or has engaged in racial profiling, misusing money or targeting political enemies.

"The sheriff's office is cooperating fully with the grand jury investigation and has complete confidence that the inquiry will clear it of any wrongdoing," Agarwal said. "The office has always fulfilled its responsibilities truthfully, honorably, and in full compliance with state and federal law."

Arpaio's attorneys contend that the investigations are politically motivated, citing a news conference in March at which Attorney General Eric H. Holder Jr. was quoted as saying he expects the inquiries to "produce results."

This administration proves daily that they are clueless and incompetent, but this Chicago-style thuggery should be even below them. Unfortunately, it appears to be their modus operandi .

Thuggery is as thuggery does.

Shut Up Mayor Bloomberg

Bloomberg attacks salt, smoke, fat and other personal peccadilloes, but not murderers and Islamofascists nor does he seem to interested in bedbugs, muggers and common thugs patrolling his city. Why should he when a few kind words for and some harsh words against those speaking about the proposed mosque near ground zero might be to his profit.

Ground Zero Mosque Madness: NYC Mayor Bloomberg’s Bloomberg LLC expanding its financial center to a regional hub in Dubai

Paralleling Mayor Bloomberg’s veiled insults towards those acutely aware of the historical Islamic conquest of non-Muslim lands by their building of mosques on top of or dominating a conquered people’s holy sites, is the concurrent Bloomberg LLC’s expansion of its Dubai financial center into a regional hub for the UAE. Founded in 1981 by Michael Bloomberg, who privately owns 85% of the limited liability corporation, Bloomberg LLC is a dominant player in global financial software, data gathering and news, commanding one third of its market niche estimated at $16 billion dollars.

The ultimate arrogance of Bloomberg is that he actually believes that others care what he thinks. He is the 8th richest American and Mayor of New York City. He is not the brightest man in America nor is he a national level politician, but merely a mayor of a city on the rocks. That he wishes to portray a mosque 2 blocks from ground zero, while knowing that its construction start is to be September 11, 2010, in a positive light is rank hypocrisy with the stink of private profit while in public office. It makes him seem just that much more a merely local scoundrel who has no place in a debate of the people, but maybe more rightly the subject of a debate by a jury of his peers.

Mayor Bloomberg is a rich spoiled arrogant embarrassment to honest hardworking people. He should just shut up.

'Change' Failed So "Let's Reach For Hope."

In a nod to Democrats past Obama is attempting a "We have nothing to fear but fear itself," shtick to buttress his fading message of hope as the pushback against his "change" grows across America.

Obama pleads to voters: 'Don't give in to fear'

Using very catchy metaphors such as his one about Republicans and driving: put the car in "D" (as in Democrat) if you want to move ahead, "R" if you want to go backward, Obama is trying to rally Democrats to head off what they fear (oops!) will be a disastrous midterm election. They hope (oh yeah!) that with Obama in full gear campaign mode and without the burdens of actually being president that Obama will re inject his stump magic into campaigns.

If I were a Democrat running next November I'd be afearing what Obama asked for and was given by pliant Democrats in Congress. The real change wrought by Obama and Congress is a shattered economy that will only get worse and the only hope for Democrats is that November isn't a total blowout.

Obama Land Grab

Some form of government owns approximately 30% of the United States. The federal government owns approx 90% of Nevada, 70% of Alaska and so forth. We could balance the budget if the Fed sold off these lands. Sorry Teddy, but the government should not be in the business of owning land unless it is used for governance, roads or defense as examples.

Now Obama wants another 15 million, possibly more, acres.

How Obama is locking up our land

(Click on map to enlarge)
In April, President Obama issued a memorandum outlining his “21st century strategy for America’s great outdoors.” It was addressed to the Interior Secretary, the Agriculture Secretary, the head of the Environmental Protection Agency and the chair of the Council on Environmental Quality. The memo calls on the officials to conduct “listening and learning sessions” with the public to “identify the places that mean the most to Americans, and leverage the support of the Federal Government” to “protect” outdoor spaces. Eighteen of 25 planned sessions have already been held. But there’s much more to the agenda than simply “reconnecting Americans to nature.”

The federal government, as the memo boasted, is the nation’s “largest land manager.” It already owns roughly one of every three acres in the United States. This is apparently not enough. At a “listening session” in New Hampshire last week, government bureaucrats trained their sights on millions of private forest land throughout the New England region. Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack crusaded for “the need for additional attention to the Land and Water Conservation Fund — and the need to promptly support full funding of that fund.”

Smart grids, modernization and gimmicks are what are being offered in the article (I encourage you to read it), but what is not being offered is reality. The United States needs more power plants, more refineries and more sources of power such as nuclear, coal and oil. The very things that so-called environmentalists have prevented for 20 plus years. And in those 20 plus years, through government interference and predatory lawsuits, the cost of producing power has risen astronomically as the avenues to produce any viable amounts of new power has shrunk.

Just as they have been doing to the health care industry these groups have emplaced rules, regulations and legislation to make citizens suffer financially for their energy wants and needs so that citizens will see no other way out, but to bow to the dictates of the government. That is not freedom, but tyranny. It is tyranny no matter how benevolent the tyranny believes itself to be. And health care reform, Cap and Trade and the energy crisis are just the beginning.

Maxine "OneUnited" Waters Drowning In The Swamp

When swimming with sharks like Nancy "The Tuna" Pelosi Maxine Waters should have been more vigilant of swamp rats. Especially when she swam with Charlie "Calypso" Rangel for Hillary "Whitewater" Clinton against Barack "Rezko" Obama.

Rep. Waters charged on three ethics counts

Is the swamp always filled with so many AKAs? Sounds kind of like the streets of Chicago.

Michelle Vacation Spin Starts

After a supposed $375,000 price tag, 40 rooms at a 5 star hotels, shut down beaches and towns and lunch with a king the White House has finally noticed that the little subjects are wagging their tongues. Start spin.

Spain vacation with 'a dear friend' whose father recently died

Mr. Sensitive, Robert Gibbs stated that, "The first lady is on a private trip. She is a private citizen and is the mother of a daughter on a private trip. And I think I'd leave it at that."  Hogwash.

So, a friend's father passed away and a month later they have a get together. The First Lady traveled to Spain using Secret Service personnel, White House staffers and represented the United States to the King of Spain. Never mind that the hotel cost enough a night to pay the monthly rent or mortgage for many Americans out of work right now.

Losing a parent is a hurtful thing and Mrs. Obama has every right, in fact a duty, to console her friend, but not on the taxpayer dime which spent at the rate it was spent is like spitting in the eye of every family going through financial difficulty at the moment. If the First Family and the White House don't get that they are not tone deaf, they are deaf, dumb and blind. Which, in fact, may be their only excuse.

BP Buries Obama Plan For Overbearing Enviro Legislation

Obama, ET AL, proclaimed it the worst environmental disaster ever for America. They did so as an intro for their endangered environmental bill to ensure its passage.

It is not the worst environmental disaster for our country. It is laughably short of that moniker. It is laughable even by Obama's record which is laughable to the rest of us suffering under this cartoon regime.

The bill can now only be passed by a pitiful and laughably sad lame duck Congress. And repealed by a new Congress.

BP has handed to Obama and friends their own rear ends.

A win by the good guys.

Margaret Bourke-White, one of my favorite photographers, took amazing photographs of people and the world they lived in. This is one, taken by her assistant, of her shooting an urban landscape from atop a modern gargoyle attached near the top of the Chrysler Building in Manhattan . She was fearless.

Assistants do not always have it easy. The one above wasn't as far out as Bourke-White, but pretty darned close. Once I was with my boss, I was an apprentice, because his real assistant became ill and could not go with him to photograph Machu Picchu. I was in the plane with him as he prepared to shoot when he yelled grab my belt, pointing to the small of his back. I did. He then signaled the pilot who immediately turned the small plane, no windows, on its side and he photographed straight down from above Machu Picchu .

It scared the beJesus out of me.

Later, when I asked why he hadn't told me what he had planned he told me that I probably would have had doubts. I then asked him about what would have happened if I couldn't hold on and he replied that the shot was more important to think about. I then drank way too much of the local brew. The photographs were breath taking.

BTW, the pilot, on looks alone, wouldn't have been able to even get an interview with Wings of Herb Airlines. On his best day. But he took off, flew and landed. For $35.00. Which included gas.

Margaret Bourke-White would've flown the plane, photographed and landed by herself.

Maybe Milwaukee Teachers Can get Someone To Hold It For Them

In times of crisis and layoffs the union is worried about sex. Recreational sex for the most part. Hopefully, recreational sex that doesn't include students. Boy, they must be hard up.

Milwaukee teachers fight for Viagra drug coverage

With the district in a financial crisis and hundreds of its members facing layoffs, the Milwaukee teachers union is taking a peculiar stand: fighting to get its taxpayer-funded Viagra back.

And it appears that these teachers really (really, really) need them some Viagra.

Board and union negotiators reached a deal in 2002 to cover six tablets per month for erectile dysfunction drugs in health plans that insure 10,000 employees, dependents and retirees. They quickly became popular.

By 2004, the number of claimants receiving prescriptions skyrocketed to more than 1,000 per year, costing the district $207,000. During negotiations in 2005, the board proposed eliminating the benefit and an arbitrator adopted the plan.

It's a wonder they have the time and the energy to teach. OTOH, may 'splain some of those test scores since the teachers are getting scores on their own.

Enviro Mentals Want To Kill Another 174,000 Coal Jobs

They not only want to reach in the pockets of coal workers and steal their pay they also want to steal money from all the other people that use energy to go to work, work, live and purchase any product in America.

Cap and Trade alone will cost the average household in America about $1,800 and this will cost far more:

Peak coal could happen by 2011... if we don't start any more mines!

The paper just released by Tadeusz Patzek at The University of Texas at Austin and Gregory Croft at the University of California, Berkeley is limited to looking at production from existing coal fields and mines, which is expected to start declining after 2011. Of course, this is only a problem if no new coal production is started, something that is not expected for many decades to come.

Total coal-related jobs

There are approximately 174,000 blue-collar, full-time, permanent jobs related to coal in the U.S.: mining (83,000), transportation (31,000), and power plant employment (60,000). (See below for details on each sector.) The U.S. civilian labor force totaled 141,730,000 workers in 2005; thus, permanent blue-collar coal industry employees represent 0.12% of the U.S. workforce.[1] (Compare this percentage with the 1.89% of U.S. workers who worked in coal mining alone in 1920.)

This total does not include indirect employment - workers who are not directly employed in the coal industry, but whose jobs are supported by that industry. It is entirely possible that thousands - even tens of thousands - of workers are indirectly supported entirely by the coal industry. However, the National Coal Association's 1994 estimate that the coal industry directly and indirectly employs around 1.5 million people[2] seems exaggerated. The level of indirect employment is in the low hundreds of thousands - not in the millions.

Islamofascism In America

There is no honor in what this father did. His god must be weeping. He is weeping because murders, rapists and pedophiles worldwide are doing their perverted acts in his name.

Honor Killing in America

As 911 operators listened in, Sarah appeared to name her father as the killer — her dying words: "Help! Help! My dad shot me... and now I'm dying!"

Short Debrief Of Kagan Confirmation

Elena Kagan 112th Member Of The SCOTUS - Oh Crap, Thanks RINOs

Finding possibly the worst candidate for the Supreme Court of the US is something a community organizer would be good at, but getting her put in place takes geniuses like the group of RINOs who didn't even fight for our country.

Elena Kagan, the 112th U.S. Supreme Court Justice

The five Republicans who supported Kagan were Sens. Susan Collins and Olympia Snowe of Maine, Lindsey Graham of South Carolina, Richard Lugar of Indiana and Judd Gregg of New Hampshire.

So now we have a community organizer that can't organize as president and a supreme court judge that knows nothing of the bench sitting on the highest court in the land. At least Obama will be gone soon, but Kagan will be there long enough to subject the US to the World Court thus demoting her and her fellow Supremes to the next highest court in the land.

Obama Buying The 2010 Election?

Actually, yes.

An August Surprise from Obama?

Buying (once again) union love, buying back (insert various left whacked blocs name) allies, buying rich people's money, buying the corporate vote, oh, you can finish on your own. Now though, Obama is aiming at that most important bloc, the middle class mother. They fear losing their homes or that they can't pay for the extras they feel the family needs. And they, according to polls, have abandoned Obama and he needs them back if only through the first Tuesday in November.

Enter Freddie and Fannie who are the paragons of business and ethics with which Obama will buy these voters. The purchase price on each vote is debt relief on their mortgages. It is a simple transaction really, Obama's benevolent government will pay part of your mortgage and you will see him, and Democrats, as saviors. Plus, it's bonus time, Obama's vision of bigger government looks better which might make it easier to pass more atrocities such as health care reform, Cap and Trade and other boondoggles for the government and its cronies. That government created the mess called Freddie and Fannie and Congress forced them to fail is irrelevant because Mama Soccer will be happy.

Is there anyone left in the Demo world left unbought? Have them call 1-800-GOV-ELEC. The free money give away is a limited offer and may disappear forever in November.

Candidate Warning: Repeal

Whether it's Cap and Trade, Stimulus or Health Care Reform, you better campaign on repeal and then aggressively follow through. No deals, no excuses and no pansy explanations will be accepted.

Prop C passes overwhelmingly

From almost the moment the Democratic-controlled Congress passed the health care law — which aims to increase the number of Americans with health insurance — Republicans have vowed to try to repeal it. Their primary argument is that they believe the federal government should not be involved in mandating health care decisions at the local level.

While repeal might seem an unlikely strategy, the effort to send a message state by state that voters don't approve of being told they have to buy insurance could gain momentum.

Repeal starts with the big ticket items, but it is only a beginning. For years Congress has inserted items that grow the government's powers and spending and that practice has skyrocketed in the last few years. If you want to be in Congress you better be prepared to repeal big and little. The devil is in the details and the devil called voter will be after you if you ignore the details and the them.

Lib Heaven: Fix The Election AND Screw The Troops

This Ain't Hell has this story and it makes one's blood boil. It isn't enough for Obamatrons to look down on soldiers and talk out both sides of their mouths about honor, duty and sacrifice, now they have improved their ability to deny soldiers the rights of a Democratic Republic even as those soldiers protect it.

Overseas troops to be screwed by largely Blue States

Mr Wolf sent us a link to a story out of Colorado this morning that some states, mostly Democrat-leaning states, are planning to screw absentee voters (read that: active duty soldiers serving overseas) out of their right to have a voice in the government that sends them to war;

Spokesman Rich Coolidge said the ballots will still be mailed, but some soldiers in remote battlefields might not have enough time to mail them back, even though the state will give them an extra seven days after the election. He said they can also send them by e-mail or fax.

Coolidge blamed late primaries and petition deadlines. He said ballots for the Aug. 10 primary also went out under short notice, but the 45-day deadline doesn’t apply to those elections.

Read the rest and follow TAH's link through.

FOUND! Where Matt Drudge Stole His Idea For The Drudge Report.

The Cape Cod: The Original Levittown House

A Cape Cod house is a modest symmetrical style that originated in colonial New England and became popular again in the 1930s, '40s and '50s. Today, examples of the Cape Cod style can be seen across the United States. The name was coined by Yale President Timothy Dwight when he traveled through the region in the 1790s, says Architecture Week.

According to the Library of Congress, Cape Cod houses are sometimes also called "Cape-style houses." Originally, Cape Cod houses had just one story and two rooms, situated side-by-side. When the style enjoyed a resurgence in the 20th century, Cape Cod house plans became larger with more rooms. The homes generally have a simple rectangular frame, often clapboarded, with a ridge roof that can allow for attic living, and a large chimney in the center of the roof, directly above the front door.

Cape Cod houses have served their purpose as sturdy, economical dwellings for centuries, says About.com. It is easy to tell the difference, however, between colonial Cape Cod houses and modern ones. Telltale giveaways are any adornments, like shutters and dormers, which are protrusions from the roof.

Then in the late 1940's came the man who understood that American society had been changed by WWII and the men and women who had left home to fight. Out with the old and in with the new and part of the new was a new house which was not shared with parents. Abraham Levitt and his sons, one of whom was serving in the Navy, understood that 16 million men and women were returning and wanted homes. Thus began Levittown. The new town got variances for no basements, no foundations and other time and money saving variances from the old town of Hempstead and were built in an assembly line fashion. Levitt and Sons did things differently, but used quality product, few floor plans and had 1,000 of the 2,000 planned units sold or rented before construction began. Each house was planned to be a starter home which could be modified or added onto later. By the end of 1951 Levitt and Sons had built 17,447 homes in Levittown and the surrounding area. No other private builder had ever achieved such a feat.

Almost every house built there is still standing. Most have been enlarged, modified or changed in some other way. When first built many scoffed at the rubes that had rented (most were originally rented) or bought. Whole new communities of upwardly mobile ex-servicemen sprang up creating huge economic waves. Relatives or the dubious began to scoff less and look more at the neighborhoods of cute and well maintained "cottages", many moved to the new neighborhoods continuing to make the houses more valuable.

Today, as in all towns, there are nicer areas of town, but overall Levittown is a close knit community where neighbors know and take care of each other. Some additions were poorly thought out, but most were done very well for newer tastes and growing families. Currently, Levittown is once again going though changes utilizing new design techniques and new building technology. If for no other reason one should visit during the Christmas season where you will see displays that are unbelievable. Last year there were groups of carolers that roamed neighborhoods, especially to visit with the house bound, sick or just alone. The carolers knew which houses needed a little extra love. That's a neighborhood.

With All Due Respect Madam Speaker

Speaker Nancy Pelosi:

ON GIBBS’ ASSERTION THAT DEMOCRATS COULD LOSE THE HOUSE: “With all due respect -- I don't spend a whole lot of time thinking about what the president's employees say about one thing or another.”

ON PELOSI'S ASSERTION THAT GIBBS IS AN IDIOT: "With all due respect - - I don't spend a whole lot of time thinking about what a whacked out liberal district's super rich and pampered got no real world experience employee says about one thing or another."

Good Lord, I would bet that Pelosi's "birds and bees" talk with the kids was assisted by her personal second chef describing the act of assembling of ecargot as a visual aid.
