Racism is the only reason McCain might beat him.
What with the Bush legacy of reckless war and economic mismanagement, 2008 is a year that favors the generic Democratic candidate over the generic Republican one. Yet Barack Obama, with every natural and structural advantage in the presidential race, is running only neck-and-neck against John McCain, a sub-par Republican nominee with a list of liabilities longer than a Joe Biden monologue. Obama has built a crack political operation, raised record sums, and inspired millions with his eloquence and vision. McCain has struggled with a fractious campaign team, lacks clarity and discipline, and remains a stranger to charisma. Yet at the moment, the two of them appear to be tied. What gives?
If it makes you feel better, you can rationalize Obama's missing 10-point lead on the basis of Clintonite sulkiness, his slowness in responding to attacks, or the concern that Obama may be too handsome, brilliant, and cool to be elected. But let's be honest: If you break the numbers down, the reason Obama isn't ahead right now is that he trails badly among one group, older white voters. He does so for a simple reason: the color of his skin.
Here are some real simple reasons:
America doesn't trust him
America is seeing him as an empty suit
America doesn't like what they hear
America thinks his choice of friends, advisors & mentors is risky
America is a positive nation while liberalism is a negative force
America understands that he and his supporters aren't telling the truth
Some simple truths about this article:
Bush is not reckless about Iraq, he has been right
Bush has not mismanaged the economy, Congress has
Obama does not have every natural and structural advantage, just a thin veneer of charisma
McCain is not a sub par nominee with a "list of liabilities longer than a Joe Biden monologue"
McCain does not lack clarity & discipline, Obama does
Weisberg is a moron for saying Obama "may be too handsome, brilliant, and cool to be elected"
Obama may lose because of older white voters, but the only reason he is the nominee is because of black voters and liberal guilt-ridden voters.
I am sick of race in this election because I hear about it every day from Obama, blacks and liberals bringing up Obama's skin color because they are terrified that Obama may lose. He will and with their help.
...Virtue, morality, and religion. This is the armor, my friend, and this alone that renders us invincible. These are the tactics we should study. If we lose these, we are conquered, fallen indeed... Patrick Henry (1736-1799) US Founding Father

Obama Wins Delaware
and gets years and years of the foreign policy expertise of Neil Kinnock who didn't think Margaret Thatcher won the Falklands War in the proper manner! In the hope for change category, Biden brings 35 years of get-along politics in a pork laden sty of corruption and back slapping.
Biden also brings a style of stem-winding stump speeches that absolutely wow listeners into a complacent stupor of magnificent support.
Now, onto the other 56 states.
UPDATE: Even though they didn't get the e-mail announcing the second annointment, kos and kids think:
This has been the best veep rollout EVER.
Obama's finest operation yet!!! Gush, gush, GUSH!
