Che Schme Guevara

Ernesto Che Guevara is one of the false gods of socialist/communist world history. That he was a coward and a fraud is well known. Through friends of my parents, exiled Cubans, we heard of the "good" work that Fidel Castro and his band of losers had done in Cuba. Quite frankly, I didn't know whether to believe the stories that I heard as a young boy. When I entered college I had the great fortune to have an American History professor who recommended many other books on various subjects. Knowing the "intellectual" love affair many students were having with the image of Che one of the books he suggested concerned the Cuban Revolution. The stories and events lined up with what I had been told as a youth.

The apotheosis of Ernesto Che Guevara is arguably the biggest historical scam of the 20th century. Aided and abetted by a gaggle of journalists and academics, this swaggering, narcissistic opportunist, devoid of genuine accomplishments, and so utterly incompetent at practically everything he set his hand to that Fidel Castro finally had to find a way to get rid of him, was magically transformed into a courageous and inspiring warrior, a Christ-like revolutionary hero. Humberto Fontova’s superb demythologization, Exposing the Real Che Guevara and the Useful Idiots Who Idolize Him, is a large bucket of cold water thrown into the rapturous faces of Guevara’s unthinking admirers.

Go read the rest of the above entry (click on the link). It is informative and gives details of Che's "bravery."

As a young girl my daughter wanted a Che poster to be like her friends. I told her that she could have one if she spent 30 minutes with me going over Che's real history. Ten minutes into the conversation she told me that didn't want the poster or one of anyone like Che.

The following year while visiting an art gallery we all had the pleasure to see and discuss Charles Willson Peale's portrait "George Washington at Princeton, 1779". She asked for and got that poster.

"Gunga, gunga, lagunga"

The Dali Lama loved it and repeated the line to other people.

"Caddy Shack" is 30.

I got that going for me.

Empty

Chris Matthews & Howard Dean-Identical Braintards

Chris Matthews. What does one say? Ethics? Professionalism? Smarts? Don't need to say a word when he opens his mouth.

Howard Dean gets taken apart by Chris Wallace and decides to throw some more you know what out there and gets taken down again. Maybe Howie will go for three.

1954 JAGUAR XK 120M

Second car I ever drove was my Dad's Jag. His was white and he made the state police wealthy. Once, in a rush to get to an emergency at the hospital a new policeman in town stopped him for speeding. He told the policeman he had forgotten a specific surgical instrument so he'd better add an illegal u-turn and another speeding ticket and took off. The cop tried to follow him into the emergency room. My Dad later saved his life after a shooting telling him, "you better not die you SOB because I did 80 out Central Street to get here." They remained friends until my father's death.

The first car I ever drove was a refurbished WWII Willys Jeep which I promptly drove into a ditch. The third car I ever drove was my parents 1956 Lincoln Mark ii which I backed over a large rock. I wasn't 14 years old yet.

I was told I'd never see 15 if I got behind the wheel again without permission.

My Health Care Plan For America

ObamaCare Plan

My Health Care Plan For America

Will You Be Better Off Next Year?

It appears that a lot of people really really don't think so.

Like most Americans I am preparing in my own way for more of the disaster called the Vision of Obama/Reid/Pelosi and the Far Left. We can't control the weather and we have no control over the earth, but we can vote in November.

Clinton Judge Allows Illegals To Roam More Freely

The recap which the Clinton appointed judge may have missed is that there is a 10th amendment, Arizona is being invaded by illegal aliens, crime in Arizona is soaring due to drug cartels and other criminals and the federal government isn't doing its job of protecting our borders in general and specifically Arizona's border with Mexico. Ah, but then she would have agreed that the definition of "is" isn't settled.

Judge blocks parts of Arizona immigration law

The overall law will still take effect Thursday, but without the provisions that angered opponents — including sections that required officers to check a person's immigration status while enforcing other laws.

The judge also put on hold parts of the law that required immigrants to carry their papers at all times, and made it illegal for undocumented workers to solicit employment in public places.

Undocumented workers, actually illegal aliens breaking the law by being here and seeking employment illegally to the detriment of unemployed Americans, are now allowed to seek employment for which they will be protected by the courts. Americans losing their homes will have to pay for a lawyer.

Time for the courts and the federal government to shut up and do their jobs. To say they have in this instance hardly makes it so. They haven't.

A Liberal Boot On America's Neck Passes In Massachusetts

Our entire system of governance is based on balance. This balance is seen in the separation of powers by the congress, the executive and the court. The balance is also seen in the Electoral College. The EC was formed to protect and balance the interests and the powers of larger states versus smaller states.

Now there is a movement to render much of America's voters worthless. That a smaller state such as Massachusetts passed it tells you which current political party would benefit. No more Gores.

Mass. Legislature approves plan to bypass Electoral College

The Massachusetts Legislature has approved a new law intended to bypass the Electoral College system and ensure that the winner of the presidential election is determined by the national popular vote.

Liberals are slowly altering the vision on which our country was formed and they are altering that vision to their favor. What the vote in Massachusetts portends is an America ruled by large urban centers which will have no real interest in the wants and the needs of more rural and more conservative areas. See here for a list of states that have voted on this idea.

Abolishing the Electoral College will place control of America in the hands of the wealthiest urban centers thus it will also place that control in the hands of the few. Beginning with the presidency the few will begin to dominate the congress and eventually the courts completely upsetting the national balance of power.

That's not America.

Rangel Wrangling Like A Greased Pig To Get Out Of Bind

I'm sure none of this has anything to do with the fact that his ethics committee's trial is to start this Thursday.

Rangel, ethics committee in last-minute bargaining

If they can't find Charlie Rangel guilty they would've let Charles Manson walk.

High Food Costs, High Govt Handouts, Too Many Farmers

This has got to stop, but who has the guts and the ethics to do so?

Pigford v. Glickman: 86,000 claims from 39,697 total farmers?

I’m confused.

If there are only 39,697 African-American farmers grand total in the entire country, then how can over 86,000 of them claim discrimination at the hands of the USDA? Where did the other 46,303 come from?

Now, if you’re confused over what the heck I’m even talking about, let’s go back to the beginning of the story:

Harry Reid States We Will Have A Public Option

Screw the voter. Who cares about them. It is all about what Harry, Nana and Barack and of course the nutroots crowd want. Together they represent what? About 21% of the people. To them that's a majority.

Go to 16:43 to hear the disdain for the people as he condescends to the audience.

E.J. Dionne: Dreamer Of Dreams Never Dreamed By Father Fact

I watched E.J. Dionne on the conservo blast bash "Meet the Press." During the Roundtable the lies piled high. Rick Santelli tried to speak the truth, but was ignored like the one kid in class that had actually completed his homework. It was E. J. Dionne that won the pointy hat for class dunce though. He spouted outright lies, spun politics like Carville on crack and blustered like a spitting fool.

E.J. Dionne worked himself into such a lather he pre-empted his Monday opinion column without a fact in sight. it was actually interesting to watch the last shreds of decency and journalistic integrity fall away from the tip of his wildly waving finger tips.

Quin Hillyer of the American Spectator takes E. J. Dionne like a cheap suit.

E.J. Dionne, Prevaricator Extraordinaire

E.J. Dionne has not only devolved from a thoughtful columnist into a left-wing hit-man, but he has devolved even further, into the realm of a flagrantly dishonest left-wing hit-man. Today's column contains falsehood after falsehood. First, he says the Sherrod flap grew out of a "doctored video pushed by right-wing hit man Andrew Breitbart." Truth: The video was not doctored (it was an excerpt), and wasn't even excerpted by Breitbard himself. And Breitbart himself used it in a way meant not to attack Sherrod but to note the applause by the listeners, which was a legitimate point. It was the NAACP and the Obama administration that over-reacted; conservatives, to our credit, asked for more context, and also provided fulsome, generous (perhaps even overly generous) testimonials to the unfairness done to Sherrod.

Read the rest for a truly beautiful take down.

E. J. Dionne actually makes the members of Journolist appear to be almost honest.

Michelle Puts On The Ritz In Marbella Spain

Michelle Obama to travel to Spain

"The First Lady will travel to Spain next week for a private, mother-daughter trip with longtime family friends. President Obama will not be joining this trip," the White House said in a statement.

According to the Obama's official schedule, the First Family will visit the disaster hit Gulf Coast in Florida for a weekend in August and will spend 10 days in the upscale northeastern resort island of Martha's Vineyard.

I've spent a lot of time on Martha's Vineyard. I loved it, especially the tips I got working as a busboy, then a waiter and finally the mother load as a bartender. My digs were a little less pricey as in, student housing.

This summer we're bagging the vacation completely to save against an economy that I believe will get worse as well as helping family members who are in school or are out of work.

I hope the Obama's enjoy their vacations, especially the 40 reserved rooms at the 5 star Hotel Villa Padierna.

Architectural Perspective And Your Inner Ear Balance

versus earlier visions of reality.

Albrecht Dürer, if not the founder of perspective, was the purveyor of perspective which made pictures make sense to reality. Thanks Al.

The above image seems simple, maybe good in its rendition, but normal. Not so. When Albrecht Durer produced it it was abnormal. Perspective was unknown to the intellectural world, the artistic world and the world at large. In the world of the time a road was as wide close to the viewer as it was on the horizen.

If you are unaware of Albrecht Durer, get right with yourself and observe genius. We owe today's vision to him.

Arrogance Will Cost You Your Seat And Thank God For It

Incumbency: A Synonym for Arrogance

In the last several months we’ve heard a great deal about the anti-incumbent mood of the electorate, seen several incumbents fall to less than sterling challengers and a variety of ‘establishment’ candidates toppled from their top of the polls perch by unknowns. And there have been innumerable incumbents who, while re-nominated, have won with totally unimpressive numbers.

This fellow knows his business. You should make your business to follow him.

There Is A Shift In The Wind And More Dinosaurs Are Dying

We are living in a world in which dinosaurs are dying, again. Just like the last batch of mass dino deaths the new dinos don't know they're dying even as their dino friends are dropping around them. Pelosi in DC still thinks it is a 1950's Baltimore where the troops will do as bidden (actually do as paid) when she exhorts her fellow Demo Dinos to go out and proclaim the wondrous work they've done down there in Washington, DC. When they do they appear on websites around the world as Dinos transfixed in the glare of headlights and one can hear the oxygen being sucked out of their universe as they finally realize that the awful truth is that they aren't wanted or needed anymore.

The meteor that is killing the new Dinos is called Internet. It's trajectory seems to go straight to the hearts of those unwilling to believe. Those unbelievers still cry for the Internet to be controlled, regulated and even banned to support the old ways. Instead of seizing the new and learning new tricks and opening new ways of business the Dinos try to stuff the new into the old with muscle and the power of size. The old just isn't big enough to contain the new.

“I don't care what you say about me, as long as you say something about me, and as long as you spell my name right.” George M. Cohan understood new ways, but he also knew how to further the old by utilizing the new even when he had invented the new. His maxim about his mentions showed an understanding of business, the arts and his personal storyline. George M. shooed away the meteors threatening the cliched Dinos of the theater business by embracing new ways that lent to, but refused to be beholding to, the old ways.

The very Press which made Cohan a household name by spelling his name right is now the newest Dino transfixed and scared by the glaring headlights of progress and they are dying by trying to right the old and wrong the new.

Newspaper Chain’s New Business Plan: Copyright Suits

Gibson says he’s just getting started. Righthaven has other media clients that he won’t name until the lawsuits start rolling out, he says.

“Frankly, I think we’re having tremendous success at a number of levels,” Gibson says. “We file new complaints every day.”

I can't spell their name wrong if I never type it. I can't help their bottom line if I never send a reader to them. And, I can't help them back to their feet as they start to die because now I will never notice or care.

Out with the old and in with the new. Nobody ever said progress is fair and not even the courts or Congress can save the Dinos. All they can do is prolong the agony of their prolonged death. Oh, sure, a few meteor chasing lawyers will make a few bucks off the dying, but I have never admired profit by death lawyers however they may try to make their work appear admirable. They're the next Dino.

July 23 - 1st TransAtlantic Broadcast - 48 Years Ago

1962 – Telstar relays the first publicly transmitted, live trans-Atlantic television program, featuring Walter Cronkite.

This amazing technology gave Europe and America live telecasts in 18 minute increments. More amazing is that this breakthrough occurred less than 50 years ago. Just over a year later people in Europe and the United States could watch the aftermath of President Kennedy's assassination live.

Trump On The Ocean

Halyards

The Democrat's Coming Taxes Will Hurt Everyone

Read this from Investor's Business Daily and weep. Weep not just for yourself, but especially for your children and grandchildren. The Democrats have screwed them good because they're not old enough to vote and the Democrats be out of office by the time they are old enough to vote. By then the Demos will be living some where tax-free.

The death tax returns — at a rate of 55% on estates of $1 million or more. The effect this will have on hospital life-support systems is already a matter of conjecture.

The lowest bracket for the personal income tax, for instance, moves up 50% — to 15% from 10%. The next lowest bracket — 25% — will rise to 28%, and the old 28% bracket will be 31%. At the higher end, the 33% bracket is pushed to 36% and the 35% bracket becomes 39.6%.

The marriage penalty also makes a comeback, and the capital gains tax will jump 33% — to 20% from 15%. The tax on dividends will go all the way from 15% to 39.6% — a 164% increase.

Both the cap-gains and dividend taxes will go up further in 2013 as the health care reform adds a 3.8% Medicare levy for individuals making more than $200,000 a year and joint filers making more than $250,000. Other tax hikes include: halving the child tax credit to $500 from $1,000 and fixing the standard deduction for couples at the same level as it is for single filers.

Letting the Bush cuts expire will cost taxpayers $115 billion next year alone, according to the Congressional Budget Office, and $2.6 trillion through 2020.

The Medicine Cabinet Tax. Americans, says ATR, "will no longer be able to use health savings account, flexible spending account, or health reimbursement pretax dollars to purchase nonprescription, over-the-counter medicines (except insulin)."

The HSA Withdrawal Tax Hike. "This provision of ObamaCare," according to ATR, "increases the additional tax on nonmedical early withdrawals from an HSA from 10% to 20%, disadvantaging them relative to IRAs and other tax-advantaged accounts, which remain at 10%."

Brand Name Drug Tax. Makers and importers of brand-name drugs will be liable for a tax of $2.5 billion in 2011. The tax goes to $3 billion a year from 2012 to 2016, then $3.5 billion in 2017 and $4.2 billion in 2018. Beginning in 2019 it falls to $2.8 billion and stays there. And who pays the new drug tax? Patients, in the form of higher prices.

Economic Substance Doctrine. ATR reports that "The IRS is now empowered to disallow perfectly legal tax deductions and maneuvers merely because it judges that the deduction or action lacks 'economic substance.'"

 • The Tax Policy Center, no right-wing group, says that the failure to index the AMT will subject 28.5 million families to the tax when they file next year, up from 4 million this year.

 • "Small businesses can normally expense (rather than slowly deduct, or 'depreciate') equipment purchases up to $250,000," says ATR. "This will be cut all the way down to $25,000. Larger businesses can expense half of their purchases of equipment. In January of 2011, all of it will have to be 'depreciated.'"

 • According to ATR, there are "literally scores of tax hikes on business that will take place," plus the loss of some tax credits. The research and experimentation tax credit will be the biggest loss, "but there are many, many others. Combining high marginal tax rates with the loss of this tax relief will cost jobs."

 • The deduction for tuition and fees will no longer be available and there will be limits placed on education tax credits. Teachers won't be able to deduct their classroom expenses and employer-provided educational aid will be restricted. Thousands of families will no longer be allowed to deduct student loan interest.

Can we repeal the last two elections?

McCain Picked Palin, How About We All Call Her A Right Wing Know Nothing Hick? Sound Fair?

Being a professional reporter is really hard, especially when on one has told you what to write. Jeez, it's not like they're just bloggers who actually write what they think on their own. Only a rookie with no skin in the game would do something stupid like that.

When McCain picked Palin, liberal journalists coordinated the best line of attack

Chris Hayes of the Nation wrote in with words of encouragement, and to ask for more talking points. “Keep the ideas coming! Have to go on TV to talk about this in a few min and need all the help I can get,” Hayes wrote.

Suzanne Nossel, chief of operations for Human Rights Watch, added a novel take: “I think it is and can be spun as a profoundly sexist pick. Women should feel umbrage at the idea that their votes can be attracted just by putting a woman, any woman, on the ticket no matter her qualifications or views.”

Mother Jones’s Stein loved the idea. “That’s excellent! If enough people – people on this list? – write that the pick is sexist, you’ll have the networks debating it for days. And that negates the SINGLE thing Palin brings to the ticket,” he wrote.

Another writer from Mother Jones, Nick Baumann, had this idea: “Say it with me: ‘Classic GOP Tokenism’.”
...

Journolist’s founder Ezra Klein, now a blogger at the Washington Post, reached an entirely different conclusion: “I see no reason to attack Palin. I think you accurately describe Palin and attack McCain.” Klein linked to an article he had written for the American Prospect that calmly described Palin’s thin resume.

Time’s Joe Klein then linked to his own piece, parts of which he acknowledged came from strategy sessions on Journolist. “Here’s my attempt to incorporate the accumulated wisdom of this august list-serve community,” he wrote. And indeed Klein’s article contained arguments developed by his fellow Journolisters. Klein praised Palin personally, calling her “fresh” and “delightful,” but questioned her “militant” ideology. He noted Palin had endorsed parts of Obama’s energy proposal.

That was all on the day of the announcement.

Journolist was made up of a bunch of desperate whining wanna-be sumptin important nobodies. The journalists that wrote about and were supposed to accurately report on the election of the most powerful person in the world thought the electorate a bunch of "f*cking NASCAR retards" that they could conspire to lie to so as to fix the election.

Now, who are the retards?

The Shirley Sherrod Fix Is In

Robert Gibbs Apologizes to Shirley Sherrod

How many times did he apologize? How many times did he deflect questions concerning President Obama's involvement?

Gibbs isn't even in the same league as Vilsack who took one for the team, threw himself under the bus and fell on his sword all in a matter of minutes. He also deflected questions about President Obama's involvement.

White House apologizes to Shirley Sherrod, says administration wrongly fired black employee for tape

"The buck stops with me." "This is a teachable moment." "I accepted full responsibility for them."

I can almost feel the hot poker sent to Vilsack by the White House. His Captain will not go down with the ship. In fact, he was the first one off when trouble happened.

Of course, this was about agriculture and they still fertilize with natural substances around here. At least that is what I thought I smelled late this afternoon.

UPDATE: The CBS Early Morning Show had Sherrod on to wimper and console. Oh, they also spoke about that racist Breitbart who Sherrod may sue, but she isn't "actively" thinking about it. She just wanted to mention it on national TV as an aside, because Breitbart hasn't even called to apologize (like the rest of the world) and she doesn't think he will. Well, at least as far as she knows him, which she doesn't at all, she doesn't think he will apologize.

Maybe she can be the star of Obama's Apology Tour II (III, IV, V?).

UPDATE II: All must be forgiven. The Captain has called Sherrod and apologized for calling her a racist after she said she had stopped being a racist and also for throwing her under the bus because of his misunderstanding of what she said. He must've been paying attention with the same set of ears he had on for 20 years in one of Rev. Wright's pew. All is well in the universe now that we know who the real racists are.

Maybe The One will now call the NAACP and apologize to them for thinking they actually represented colored folks. "We are one people. We are one nation. I’m an NAACP American."

Why Should Democrats Discuss Their Failed Economy And Joblessness When They Can Yell RACISM!!

Beer Summit! Will Sherrod And Brietbart Be Invited???

President Barack Obama who has been known to accuse others of acting stupidly now has a chance to build a bridge from acts of real stupidity to a self awareness of personal stupidity. It would be a very short bridge.

USDA will reconsider firing

Maybe Obama will find it in his stupidly acting heart to allow Tom Vilsack to bus the table, but the NAACP should not be invited. They should be attending classes on racism. And stupidity.

A Great Quote

“The liberties of the american people were dependent on the ballot box, the jury box, and the cartridge box.”

The Health Care Reform "No Tax Increase" Lie

From my email a post about just one of the tax increases that Democrats have or are planning to pass into law. All that "no tax increase" talk is baloney as is the lie that no bill that increases the deficit will be tolerated. The leadership is lying. They know it and we know it, but the blatant lies just continue to be told.
2011 W-2 Tax Forms and

Obamacare

If this doesn't get to you, then check your pulse. You may be a flat line...

Should you want to verify this, go to http://www.thomas.gov/, enter "H.R. 3590" in the search box and look for "CRS Summaries." This is what you'll find.

Title IX Revenue Provisions—Subtitle A: Revenue Offset "(Sec. 9002) Requires employers to include in the W-2 form of each employee the aggregate cost of applicable employer-sponsored group health coverage that is excludable from the employee's gross income (excluding the value of contributions to flexible spending arrangements)."

Starting in 2011—next year—the W-2 tax form sent by your employer will be increased to show the value of whatever health insurance you are provided. It doesn't matter if you're retired. Your gross income WILL go up by the amount of insurance your employer paid for. So you’ will be required to pay taxes on a larger sum of money than you actually received. Take the tax form you just finished for 2009 and see what $15,000.00 or $20,000.00 additional gross income does to your tax debt. That's what you'll pay next year. For many it puts you into a much higher bracket. This is how the government is going to buy insurance for the fifteen (15) percent that don't have insurance and it's only part of the tax increases, but it's not really a "tax increase" as such, it a redefinition of your taxable income.

Also, go to Kiplinger's and read about the thirteen (13) tax changes for 2010 that could affect you.
There should be no talk of defunding legislation such as this. There has to be action to repeal this and all the other onerous legislation Congress has passed in 2009 and 2010 against the will of the people. Those in Congress that do not vote to repeal should be voted out of elected office.

Lone Monopod

Hey Iran, Shut Up. No One Cares What You Think. Morons.

Iran Accuses U.S, Pakistan of Supporting Terrorism

Iran has morons in charge, both religious morons and political morons and they're led by a short creep with a complex that dwarfs Napoleon's and the world is supposed to care?

Iranian Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki was among dozens of international diplomats speaking Tuesday at a global forum in Kabul aimed at stabilizing Afghanistan and unifying the global fight against the Taliban and al Qaeda.

Stabilizing? Unifying the global fight? Huh? Who is smoking more crack, the loudmouth liars or the reporter? Iran helping fight against Jihad? Maybe this crack reporter will testify in another article as how the fattest kid in town will testify that Oreos in a family pack is a bad thing. All while having a stash of Oreos big enough to fell the most healthy in town with one giant heart attack.

Iran, shut up. No one cares what you think. Ditto that of reporters that actually believe that readers still care what they think.

Besides, how could the chosen one do any wrong? Well, you know what I mean, as in foreign policy, economics, national policy, the military, etc., etc., blah, blah, blah.

The circus is in town, but I'm not seeing elephants, zebras and trapeze artists. Just clowns.

Will There Be An Obesity Rating For The Fat Heads In DC?

In an effort to know and control every part of everyone's life the federal government now wants to include you body mass index in your electronic medical record that the federal government will protect and control. In light of what is inevitable maybe the feds will hire paroled convicts to scour the Internet to collect the oil balls of their data spill when the fed does what it does best, screw up.

Obesity Rating for Every American Must Be Included in Stimulus-Mandated Electronic Health Records, Says HHS

The obesity-rating regulation states that every American's electronic health record must: “Calculate body mass index. Automatically calculate and display body mass index (BMI) based on a patient’s height and weight.”

The law also requires that these electronic health records be available--with appropriate security measures--on a national exchange.

I don't want an electronic health record with the federal government. I don't need a body mass index (BMI) being sent to a bunch of fat-assed bureaucrats who know less about protecting personal information then they do about health. I despise these little mommies in business attire smugly telling us what we need because they think we are unable to take care of ourselves. Anyone in government that thinks they are smarter than the people is too stupid to be in government. It appears we have an army of bureaucratic nitwits being led by smug morons. Is there a BMI to measure fatheadedness?

Ohio Son George Steinbrenner RIP

The leader of my wife's beloved Yankees has died. Love him or hate him, George Steinbrenner gave all those he did business with their money's worth be they corporate, ticket holder, fan or recipients of his largess.

Steinbrenner was a graduate assistant to Woody Hayes (54-55) the year that the Buckeyes were undefeated and went on to win the Rose Bowl. George and his wife have left their imprint on The Shoe to the benefit of all.

Rocky River and Ohio have lost a giant.

The Unreal Reality Of The Left

Stark numbers do not deter the fervent. Numbers based in reality, backed by research, can't shake the believer. Religion? No, but in a sense, yes. Missions carried out against all odds are those of legend and sometimes history. The true believer will follow to the end those that plant a vision in their minds, even when those planters have nothing to rail against and have gone far afield of the fight into areas of greed for power and money. Believing is a wonderful thing. Believing is false idols is sad.

"We have to close the enthusiasm gap and remind people that the majority that existed two years ago still exists today," said Ben Jealous, president of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People, in a phone interview.

"The danger of the tea party is that people see them and think about periods in history when groups like them were much more powerful than they are now," he said. "And so a lot of what we spend energy doing is explaining to people what reality is, and that the reality is that the majority from 2008 still exists. It went no where but back on the couch, and our biggest challenge is to get it back off the couch and back to the streets and back on the battlefield."

Sounds nice, as in Col. Travis stating clearly to his men that Fannin was on his way. In fact Fannin wasn't coming and Travis knew it. So does Ben Jealous.

“‘We’re deeply concerned about elements that are trying to move the country back, trying to reverse progress that we’ve made,’ NAACP spokeswoman Leila McDowell told ABC News. “We are asking that the law-abiding members of the Tea Party repudiate those racist elements, that they recognize the historic and present racist elements that are within the Tea Party movement.”

The National Association for the Advancement of Colored People, in coordination with 170 other groups, including labor unions, is planning a protest march in Washington, D.C., Oct. 10 as the next step in building momentum against the Tea Party.”

As proof, the anti-Tea Party faction cites "facts" such as Tea Partiers yelling "nigger" at the black caucus as they paraded with Nancy Pelosi on their way to the capitol. Didn't happen. It has proven that there was no such occurrence. The reality of unreality. All in the name of a cause and with this cause everyday is the Alamo with odds that are similar and America is represented as a broken down, not completed mission.

Reality can be depressing to some. To others it can be exhilarating even a release. When Travis came clean to his men telling them that there would be no relief, even exhorting them to make Mexican victory more terrible than defeat, only one man left the Alamo. The rest, almost out of ammunition, fought to the death in hand combat mortally wounding Santa Anna's planned subjugation of Texas. Knowing the truth they willingly gave their lives to defend their beloved vision of what Texas could be and for the recognition and freedom of their fellow citizens. They dealt a victory more terrible than defeat to Santa Anna because they knew the truth. They based their decision in the reality that relief was not coming.

Good Quote

"The more is given, the less the people will work for themselves

and the less they work, the more their poverty will increase."

- Leo Tolstoy

Air Conditioning To Be Used As Social Engineering

Air conditioning is good for some, indeed necessary, but bad for all and especially bad for Mother Earth. Don't worry, the big gov guys have it all worked out who will have it and who won't and they also have it all worked out how those without will knuckle under to meet the needs of the few and of Mother Earth.

In the heat wave, the case against air conditioning

Washington didn't grind to a sweaty halt last week under triple-digit temperatures. People didn't even slow down. Instead, the three-day, 100-plus-degree, record-shattering heat wave prompted Washingtonians to crank up their favorite humidity-reducing, electricity-bill-busting, fluorocarbon-filled appliance: the air conditioner.

This isn't smart. In a country that's among the world's highest greenhouse-gas emitters, air conditioning is one of the worst power-guzzlers. The energy required to air-condition American homes and retail spaces has doubled since the early 1990s. Turning buildings into refrigerators burns fossil fuels, which emits greenhouse gases, which raises global temperatures, which creates a need for -- you guessed it -- more air-conditioning.

A.C.'s obvious public-health benefits during severe heat waves do not justify its lavish use in everyday life for months on end. Less than half a century ago, America thrived with only the spottiest use of air conditioning. It could again. While central air will always be needed in facilities such as hospitals, archives and cooling centers for those who are vulnerable to heat, what would an otherwise A.C.-free Washington look like?

The author also finds benefits for Tea Partiers and conservatives. Read the rest and try to think just how well this will play out across the nation and the world. South Central LA? Paris? Atlanta? Yeah, with no air conditioning cries of "drill baby drill" will be replaced by "burn baby burn." Think of the politics of unintended consequences.

Harvard Schmarvard Lies And Spies

While attending Ohio State Medical School my father was given the suggestion that he should attend Harvard Med so as to be challenged more. After a term at Harvard he appeared back at OSMS and announced that if he wanted to fix noses and "asses" he would have originally gone to Harvard. He was welcomed back with open arms and graduated at the top of his class. He thought Harvard a tick off by half. When he reattached fingers and such, in the 1960's, his patients thought him spot on.

That leavesHarvard. The nation’s premier Ivy League U.S. president mass-production facility has yet to yank the degree it bestowed on Russky spy Andrey Bezrukov, who was presenting as “Donald H. Heathfield,” a dead Canadian, when handed his sheepskin in 2000.

Years ago as a young man and before my father died, he made me promise that I would not attend Harvard. I promised. I never had the heart to admit later, at the appropriate age, that Harvard had less use for me than I for it. Yale and Princeton wanted me. I had other ideas. I believe it was a win-win-win-win for all.

Did you know that students at Harvard protested, actually rioted, against our revolution against England? 'Nough said.

Lies and spies and Harvard. English Prep. Inbred. Degrees. Bought. Sold.

A normal display of shameful behavior served in quadrants, no doubt. Makes it more palatable when served arrogantly cold. Meter, my good man is the basic. Then logic, passion and restraint. Possibly, then truth.

LeBron Gone - Thanks Democrats

When I left to work in Manhattan and then Washington DC, Ohio had one of the lowest tax rates in America. When I returned I was shocked to find out what had happened to my state. Ohio more closely resembled the People's Republic of Montgomery County , Maryland than the people and business friendly state I had left years before.

Taxes mean never having to say you're sorry... for leaving

We come not to praise or bury LeBron James, but only to note that by moving to Miami he's going to save a bundle on taxes. ... Florida has no income tax. The rate in Akron, Ohio is a little over 7%.

Mr. James figures to earn close to $100 million in salary over five seasons in Miami. According to an analysis by Richard Vedder, an economist at Ohio University, Mr. James's net present value tax savings on his salary are between $6 million and $8 million by living in Miami versus his home town of Akron. Professional athletes do have to pay other state taxes for the dates they play in visiting team arenas, but most of Mr. James's considerable endorsement income would be taxed at Florida rates.

The tax comparisons looked even worse for two other teams in the LeBron bidding, the New York Knicks and New Jersey Nets. ... While LeBron's departure got extraordinary media attention, it is hardly unique. In the early 1990s, Ohio was the home of 43 Fortune 500 companies. Twenty years later the number is 24. Census Bureau data show that from 2004-2008 Ohio saw a net outmigration of $6 billion of income and some 97,000 taxpayers. Even Ohio's famously liberal Senator, the late Howard Metzenbaum, moved to Florida late in his life to reduce his estate taxes. (emphasis mine)

We feel for Cleveland fans, but maybe they should allocate some of their wrath to the state politicians who keep driving high-income individuals and their businesses to financially sunnier climes.

Maybe LeBron left to be with his playmates, but Ohio taxes made it an easier decision. Just ask Howard.

The Hell With Equality?

Here in Ohio as well as other states there are candidates who want to roll back the gains in equality we as a state and a nation have made. Their goal is to split people off, treat them unfairly and ridicule them if they protest. We have seen this before, groups that belittle and punish others through exploitation for their own advantage.

If Ted Strickland won't lead this state then I will. I call for restoring the top income-tax rate on taxpayers who make over $200,000 per year. - Dennis Spisak, Green Party candidate for Ohio Governor

If these candidates had any guts they'd step up and say for the good of all, all must pay more, even that majority that pays no income tax at all. It is shallow to not see this. Obama does and he's raising taxes on all, everyone, people. The fight for equality never ends.

3 C Train Or The Big Green Drain

Train, Spain and drain all have one thing in common, they make things go broke.

Why Cities Are Broke or, There is Something Tragic About a Train...

... or a light rail system or a streetcar boondoggle that just makes people (well, pols and their civilian enablers) wet their pants over the prospect of tossing 19th-century technology and 21st century debt obligations at cities and states and countries that are already dead broke.

And so witness the spectacle of Cincinnati, a city that is down on its luck and its population, faces a $50 million deficit next year, and is home to the worst mascot in the history of professional sports (see right), anxiously awaiting signs that the feds will shovel some money their way in a ridiculous plot to build a streetcar system in the Queen City:

When will the world realize that "green" means money in a bad way, at least how it is envisioned now.

Charles Joseph "Charlie" Crist, Jr. Wants To Ban Drilling

Charlie Crist is showing his true colors now that he has dropped that bothersome Republican initial after his name.

Fla. governor calls special oil drilling session

Gov. Charlie Crist has called for a special session of the Legislature to permanently ban offshore oil drilling in Florida waters.

Crist on Thursday said the session is called for July 20 to 23.

Crist split with the Republican Party when it became apparent that Marco Rubio was going to shellac his hide. Now Crist is pulling stunts in an attempt to use fear for support as Rubio is once again edging past Crist in the polls.

Crass is Crist.

America Is Great, In Fact Exceptional

MECHa, La Raza, the New Black Panther Party, Progressives and our other enemies whether foreign or domestic feel compelled to quell this idea, but all tyrants have felt the need to tear down the good to enable them to force their vision on people. That they have tried so long and so hard and yet have failed is a testament to the citizens of the United States of America and our Founding Fathers. God Bless them all.

"Berwick is certainly qualified to head a national health care system"

As would be Dr. Mengele.

A Recess Appointment

Dr. Donald Berwick "is an outspoken supporter of the British National Health Service, the state-run Health Care that the British citizens have been enduring since 1948. The British system imposes rationing on its paying patients, an idea that Berwick praises."

Obama had to make this a recess appointment because otherwise his national health policy would be debated out in the open just before the midterm elections. That debate would doom an already deeply wounded slate of Democrats that supported ObamaCare while their constituents opposed it. This deception has become a hallmark of this administration and its Democrat led Congress.

Stone Cross In Krajková, Czech Republic

Stone Cross in Krajková (Gossengrün)

On the outskirts of the village Krajková in the Sokolov (Falkenau an der Eger) region, 350 m southwest of St. Peter & St. Paul’s Parish Church, on the road to Květná an interesting medieval monument is found – It is a stone monolith of a classical shape, i.e. with the head, foot and arms mutually interconnected with four stone ribs, each roughly by half thinner than the mentioned cross elements. Until 1989 the cross, conciliation or another reason of which has not yet been uniquely determined, stood on the edge of the ditch of the north-west side of the road Květná – Krajková, with its back leaned on the retaining wall of the brick Calvary. Nowadays the stone cross in Krajková is registered in the stone crosses catalogue of the Bohemian Northwest at the Karlovy Vary Museum (author Mr. Stanislav Wieser) and in extensive registration of stone crosses and cross stones in Bohemia that is a collective work of Společnost pro výzkum kamenných křížů (Society for Research of Stone Crosses) at the Town Museum in Aš (Asch), where it is stored and continuously supplemented with new findings.

Democrats Voted To Specifically Tax Veterans For Wheelchairs And Prosthetic Devices

via This Ain't Hell

Democrats will tax their mother's breath if it could raise more taxes for more programs that make more voters dependent on them. That they're really not their as Americans I understand, but I guess Democrats believe it only fair to tax those wounded protecting us. Next Nana and Harry will tax dead soldier's coffins.

Democrats vote to tax veterans for medical devices

Orin Hatch tried to exempt veterans from a planned tax on prosthetic devices in the Senate according to The Examiner.

Maybe next Democrats will bill families for the bullet used to execute dissidents.

A message to all those under Palin's thumb in Alaska. Don't be intimidated. The only thing to do with bullies like Todd Palin is to face them down.

That's Andrew's message to all that have read that Levi admitted that he lied about the Palins. With Andrew all crushed and all I guess this is the only way Andrew can keep the meme alive. Plunderbund's Modern Esquire Is Really Worried About Kasich

He doth protest too much at every turn of Kasich's campaign against Strickland. When ever a polling outfit such as Barney's Bait and Polling or Kos' new loser pollster or one of the main stream media's "the surge failed" pollmeisters crows about Strickland's "surge" Modern Esquire gets all giddy.
He must have penis Lehman Brothers envy. Success breeds success which leaves Strickland in a position almost as bad as he has put his supporters.

Come on Modern Esquire, love that people's moniker, Kasich has better blue collar credentials than you. He also has better success credentials than you.

Oh Hell, Kasich isn't just an opponent to you, he's a nemesis, eh? Got worry? Yeah, I think you do.

To My Minion

I have been let loose on the political world. My contracts are by necessity not common knowledge. Good. I'm busy which means I may not be regularly here.

Check under your bed each night. Your pain at my absence is duly noted.

My glee may not be.

Why Can't Arizona Sue The Federal Government?

Arizona should. The federal government is not doing their job as outlined in the contract known as the Constitution. The federal government is incompetent. It is woefully and willfully not doing their job and now want to sue Arizona because Arizona passed a law that would do that which the federal government should do.

If I were Arizona I'd sue the federal government for breach of contract as well as the cost of the defense of the Arizona  law passed  that states that which the federal law has already stated.

Quit the crap and protect the border. Obama, you can get votes some other way. They're getting thinner, but there are still a lot of unmined graveyards in the Chicago area. Calumet alone should give the advantage in votes. If not, there are all those empty lots in Detroit that they plan to garden. Think counting crows.

Fourth Of July

The ambiguity of the Grand Union Flag (left), a.k.a., the “Cambridge Flag” (raised at Cambridge, Massachusetts in January 1776): it combined the stripes of the rebellious colonies with the British Union flag. It flew over Prospect Hill and overlooked the city of Boston. The flag sports the crosses of Saint George and Saint Andrew—and are borrowed from the British flag.

In September of 1990 we received a very unique letter. Earl P. Williams, Jr., a lecturer and author on the U.S. flag sent us the story of Frances Hopkinson, resident of Bordentown, N.J., signer of the Declaration of Independence, and apparent true designer of the American flag.

The charming story which credits Betsy Ross as the creator of our national emblem was challenged in 1870, when it was first made public. However, we learned that it wasn't until 1917 that Hopkinson's biographer came across letters between Hopkinson and the Continental Congress which pointed to Hopkinson as the flag's creator. These letters are in the National Archives today.

The pattern shown with 6 pointed stars is Earl's approximation of the flag Hopkinson designed in 1777. Scholars will likely continue to debate the exact appearance of our first national flag for years to come. There is no original example of the very first flag still left. No one can claim with certainty to know the exact appearance of the first flag. Our flag shows Earl's concept of the design based on his study.

Let's Bring Green Jobs To Ohio Now...Be Greece Later

The Green Party, which is another way of spelling the Socialist Party, want to do to us what Greece, Portugal, Spain and other have done to themselves (using our money).

Let's Bring Green Jobs To Ohio Now...Not Later

Greens want to help millions of Americans obtain a green-collar job that pays a living wage while helping to build a brighter environmental future.

5 million Green jobs will help us stabilize our national economic crisis and the global climate. Green jobs can conserve energy and lower greenhouse gas emissions. Green jobs are union jobs and created in communities that really need them. Green jobs nourish our communities because they can’t be outsourced overseas cheaply. Green jobs grow local businesses and foster community development.

GREEN SOLUTIONS

1. Support massive public investment to create 5 million green jobs in fields such as energy conservation, renewable energy, sustainable agriculture, green building and the construction of mass transportation.

2. Create an inclusive program to train workers for the new, clean energy economy.

3. Prioritize the creation of green jobs in communities of color and low income communities.

3. Support union organizing at all workplaces.

4. Adopt a reduced-hour 35 hour work week as a standard.

5. Establish more federally funded programs for Green jobs development and skills training.

Dennis S. Spisak-Green Party of Ohio nominee for Governor

Yep, let's create millions of new jobs with millions (and millions and millions) of tax payer money and then give them to unions and low income and minority communities, then reduce the work week to 35 hours so we can establish even more federally funded green programs. Uh, it ain't working anywhere it has been tried.

A candidate that puts forth this platform will not be in danger of getting elected because a candidate is supposed to suggest the boondoggle after they're elected not before.

Madam Speaker Ought Not Speak

Question: What job has Nancy Pelosi ever had that could result in an unemployment check other than alimony? That is not sexist, it is fact.

Pelosi: Unemployment Checks Fastest Way to Create Jobs

"It injects demand into the economy," Pelosi said, arguing that when families have money to spend it keeps the economy churning. "It creates jobs faster than almost any other initiative you can name."

It is painfully obvious that she has never been a professor of economics, but then when has an unemployment check been an option as part of an education union equation. Unless you're a known conservative professor.

Zack Space: Worst Cliched Lie Of The Year

Democrats are worried and especially worried by Minority Leader John Boehner. Now Ohio's Democrat delegation has lined up lock step to attack another Ohioan for suggesting solutions, some endorsed by them and Steny Hoyer, and then spouting fear mongering drivel.

Ohio Democrats, President Obama gang up on John Boehner

Rep. Marcy Kaptur, the dean of the Ohio delegation, said that Boehner’s proposal to cut Social Security to pay for the war in Afghanistan is “callous, outrageous and frankly un-American.” Rep. Tim Ryan said the people that would be affected by Boehner’s Social Security plan are “people who work for a living with their hands, not that wear ties and suits and nice dresses and jewelry and play golf and hang out.”

Ohio Democratic Rep. Zack Space said that if “the Boehner plan” went into effect, the elderly would be “cleaning toilets, stocking shelves, serving French fries.”

“We as Buckeyes do not stand with him, and it shows how out of touch he and his party are with the rank and file,” Kaptur said.

Now if Space had said that anyone who voted for Cap and Trade wanted their constituents to be “cleaning toilets, stocking shelves, serving French fries” then I'd believe him. Otherwise Space is just politicking with the likes of Obama and Kaptur to hurt Ohioans. Puppets.

BTW, John Boehner worked with his hands, grew up hard and is a self made man. Can't say that about those attacking him which tells us a lot.

Bush Economy Fails Again

The good news is that our unborn grandchildren will have the benefit of explaining that they were able to complete their homework, but unfortunately George Bush ate it.

The Good Old Days Of Mere Economic Shambles

I went back and found this golden quote from a February 2008 Democratic debate: “Our economy is increasingly in shambles. And the families of Texas and all across America are feeling the brunt of that failing economy.” Well, that “failing economy” had a national unemployment rate of 4.8 percent. Captain Kickass’ first term will probably never see as many Americans employed as what he labeled a “failing economy.” If that was shambles, what is this? . . .

The bad news is that our social democracy has crashed and burned before it ever took off. Oh, and we and our grandchildren will have to pay for the building, burning and bungled cleanup of said social democracy which makes on par with Europe. Wasn't that the goal all along?
