Tea Parties Really Getting Under Lib/Dem Skin II

If it were me, I'd get a shrinkoligist and a new cd of Pete Seeger' Greatest Hits (Happy 140th dead-birthday Pete!) just to deal with the denial and pain.

Stages of Denial
Take pity on the left as it grapples with the tea party revolt

According to Pajamas Media, 700,873 people attended some 883 tea party protests on April 15. It was a remarkable day, a tangible expression of public outrage that I have not experienced in my 25 years of advocacy and grassroots organizing on behalf of free-market principles.Judging from the left's hysterical reaction, something really big must have happened. But the only way to really understand the left's misinformed and paranoid attacks is to realize that the protests represent tangible proof that basic libertarian values continue to resonate with the American electorate. That, apparently, is a difficult thing for some to accept.

Judging from the left's hysterical reaction, something really big must have happened. But the only way to really understand the left's misinformed and paranoid attacks is to realize that the protests represent tangible proof that basic libertarian values continue to resonate with the American electorate. That, apparently, is a difficult thing for some to accept.

Some tried to diminish the tea parties as misguided tax protests. In reality, the protestors demonstrated a sophisticated understanding of economics that went well beyond objections to higher tax rates. You can't spend money you don't have, the tea party attendees understood, and government spending above current revenues must be paid for with higher taxes, more borrowing (to be paid for with higher taxes in the future), or artificial government expansion of money and credit, which can only debase the currency and make everyone poorer through inflation.

So how did the media miss the real story? Perhaps the question itself is silly because it assumes that left-of-center reporters were actually trying to "report." Some were, though most simply regurgitated the talking points supplied by partisans in the blogosphere.

The Matthew Shepard Hate Crime Law Concerning A Crime That Wasn't A Hate Crime

Thanks to Bizzy Blog for this story which I had not recalled.

New Details Emerge in Matthew Shepard Murder
Six years ago, on a cold October night on the outskirts of Laramie, Wyo., 21-year-old gay college student Matthew Shepard was brutally beaten, tied to a fence and left for dead. He was found 18 hours later and rushed to the hospital, where he lingered on the edge of death for nearly five days before succumbing to his injuries.

The story garnered national attention when the attack was characterized as a hate crime. But Shepard's killers, in their first interview since their convictions, tell "20/20's" Elizabeth Vargas that money and drugs motivated their actions that night, not hatred of gays.

While Shepard lay unconscious in a hospital, the national press quickly arrived in Laramie. Cal Rerucha, who prosecuted the case, told Vargas the media descended on Laramie "like locusts."
"We knew in the newsroom the day it happened, this is going to be a huge story, this is going to attract international interest," said Jason Marsden of "The Casper Star-Tribune."

"I remember one of my fellow reporters saying, 'this kid is going to be the new poster child for gay rights," he added. News of Shepard's death sparked reaction overseas and demonstrations across America.

That a human was brutally murdered is tragic. That his death was used and twisted for personal and political gain is equally tragic.

Once the emotional political agenda faded from the story many other facts that told a different story started to emerge, but that hasn't stopped Congress, the media and the gay community from using a drug related murder to violate the First Amendment and continue to push an agenda that our country does not agree with.

Does that make us gay bashers? No.

Does it make this another lie driven piece of legislation for an over all agenda to further distort the core of America? Yes.

This is just another step to enlarge 'especially equal' voter blocks for the Democrat Party. It is smart politics, but unconstitutional and plain wrong.

Shame on those that prey on people. Shame on those that prey on society for political gain. Shame on all members that have or will vote for this legislation and any like it.

My Apologies To My Visitors

I enjoy very much being part of BNN/Ohio and having the opportunity to read opposing views. Even though I may disagree with many of them I find that most are good people with interesting and thoughtful views. Lisa Renee does an absolutely outstanding job of being editor and has never been anything but gracious and receptive to my ideas and responsive to my questions.

Why am I apologizing? Simple, my visitors have had to see extreme vulgarities in a few of the headlines on the BNN feed that I have on my site. Unfortunately, some spew their trash as a child might to act cool and 'grown up.' They are neither.

Lisa Renee allowed me share my concern with her. I expressed to her that I have been known to cut loose with some most colorful language from time to time. Unfortunately, many of my friends can attest to that. I am careful not to offend those who do share my opinion that it is perfectly okay to reply to a stupid statement with a, "I don't give a dead rat's (behind)." When I do, it is the child in me that I allow out. My late mother and my wife have never been impressed, swayed or humored when that juvenile in me slipped out the few times it did within their earshot. I apologized immediately and made sure I didn't offend again as I would to any person.

I have no doubt that those that speak like this in a public forum such as BNN's headline ticker do not care if others are offended. They don't care if those with deep feelings of religion or just plain common self respect are offended because these writers understand neither. Actually, I think they're probably amused by their immature and offensive headline histrionics.

Again, I apologize if you have been offended and I am trying to effect a change.

Hate Crime Legislation Or Robespierre Comes To America

I'm pretty sure why Specter is a co-sponsor of a law that would prevent a lot of 'hate' speech directed at him right now. I wonder if Collins and Snowe will jump off the bridge just because Arlen did. Mom?

Obama urges passage as Kennedy introduces hate crimes bill in Senate
As U.S. House lawmakers made preparations Tuesday for a floor vote on hate crimes legislation, Sen. Ted Kennedy (D-Mass.) introduced similar legislation in the Senate.

The new Senate bill, called the Matthew Shepard Hate Crimes Prevention Act, is named after a gay college student who was murdered near Laramie, Wyo., in 1998 because of his sexual orientation. Like the House bill, it would enable the Justice Department to prosecute hate crimes committed against LGBT people.

In a statement Tuesday, Kennedy said the legislation is "long overdue" and "hate crimes are especially poisonous."

"They are acts of domestic terrorism that target whole communities, not just individuals," he said. "This bill will bring greater protection to our citizens and much-needed resources for state and local law enforcement to fight these vicious crimes."

Other sponsors of the Senate bill include Sens. Susan Collins (R-Maine), Patrick Leahy (D-Vt.), Olympia Snowe (R-Maine) and Arlen Specter (D-Pa.). A Senate Judiciary Committee spokesperson said she didn't know when the committee would take up the legislation.

I do not believe the personnel in our court systems are sophisticated enough, including jurors, to understand how this law would be able to be spun to further take away our rights and to alter our culture in the direction the supporters want it to go. They ain't jabbering about traditional values.

This bad legislation. This is a bad idea. We have a Constitution that addresses this issue and this law will eventually lead to the First Amendment becoming completely illegal.

No free expression, no religion. How Robespierre. The state will be the only religion.

Swine Socialist Flu Comes To The United States

If only the U.S. had a Socialist health care system like Mexico or a Socialist economic system like so many other Socialist nations, then all the illegal aliens would go home. Why not suffer the same inadequate care and poverty near family and friends.

Mexico's health care on a pedestal
Universal coverage, seeking to reach tens of millions since 2003, has become a model for other nations

Mexico, socialist-dominated for most of the 20th century, has had socialized insurance plans since 1943, but only those with full-time jobs had access to free health care. That left out half of the country's population. Frenk, working for Mexico's first post-socialist government under President Vicente Fox, set out with specialists to create a plan that would bring universal health insurance to everyone who needed it - and that meant 50 million people. And he wanted it accomplished within seven years.

First Confirmed U.S. Swine Flu Death: Toddler Was Mexican or American?

The death of a child is tragic. The death of all persons fleeing a 'universal' or socialized form of medical care is a national disaster that is coming to the United States. The 23 month old child reportedly was from Mexico, who was in Brownsville when the child showed symptoms of the flu and was shipped to Houston and died. Other reports state that the child was brought to the United States from Mexico for treatment.

Media Drumbeat Amplifies Coverage of Flu Outbreak

How ironic that the news is about a pork flu that may just increase into the ultimate pork, government universal health care, because only the government cares and only the government can. YES WE CAN! GOT HOPE? CHANGE!

Specter Knifes Republicans In The Back

Democrats will have to learn if they can work with a person of such low moral character and traitorous behavior. It will help that they have leaders that have shown that they will do whatever it takes to win which is exactly how Specter obviously works. That a person would show such devious selfishness at such as time demonstrates a disloyalty that will, no doubt, warm the hearts of the Obama Administration.

Specter says he's switching from GOP to Democrats
"I am unwilling to have my twenty-nine year Senate record judged by the Pennsylvania Republican primary electorate," he said in the statement.

"I don't have to say anything to them. They said it to me," Specter said, when asked in a Capitol corridor about abandoning the GOP.

A senior White House official, speaking on the condition of anonymity because no announcement has yet been made, said at 10:25 a.m. EDT Tuesday President Barack Obama was handed a note while in the Oval Office during his daily economic briefing. The note said: "Specter is announcing he is changing parties." At 10:32, Obama reached Specter by phone and told him "you have my full support" and that the Democratic Party is "thrilled to have you."

This victory for the Democrats has Rahm Emanual written all over it just as the strategy and tactics do in the Minnesota recount. Specter and Franken will make fine additions to their members in Congress and will give Obama 60 vote margin necessary to ride roughshod over the Constitution and the American public.

I will do everything possible to make it as difficult as possible for Specter to retain his seat.
Specter, what an unprincipled low-life.

Gitmo Terrorists To Come To US?

Via The Keeler Report

U.S. plans to accept several Chinese Muslims from Guantanamo
The Obama administration is preparing to admit into the United States as many as seven Chinese Muslims who have been imprisoned at Guantanamo Bay in the first release of any of the detainees into this country, according to current and former U.S. officials.

Their release is seen as a crucial step to plans, announced by President Obama during his first week in office, to close the prison and relocate the detainees. Administration officials also believe that settling some of them in American communities will set an example, helping to persuade other nations to accept Guantanamo detainees too.
...

The move would also incense Chinese officials, who consider the Uighurs domestic terrorists and want those held at Guantanamo handed over for investigation. U.S. officials no longer consider the Chinese Muslims to be enemy combatants and fear they would be mistreated in China.
...

Officials have not said where in the United States they might live. But many Uighur immigrants from China live in Washington's Virginia suburbs, and advocates have urged that the detainees be resettled near people who speak their language and are familiar with their customs.
...

But the TV privileges underscored potential difficulties to come, according to one current and one former U.S. official. Not long after being granted access to TV, some of the Uighurs were watching a soccer game. When a woman with bare arms was shown on the screen, one of the group grabbed the television and threw it to the ground, according to the officials.

Good job BamBam. Scare Virginia, spread worry nationwide and tick off China all at the same time just to "set an example" of your political naivete.

Oh, and you better have Michelle stop with the sleeveless dresses. Our newest citizens don't like that.

Old Stone House

Old Stone House Road in Granite Quarry (formerly Granite Ridge), Rowan Co, NC
This house was built with local stone by Dutch Immigrant Michael Braun in 1766. It is the last remaining colonial structure in Rowan County. This historical site is owned & operated by Rowan Museum, Inc.
It is worth noting that Michael immigrated from Germany to Pennsylvania before settling here. At the time this area was considered wilderness but covered in heavy thicket, rather than forests as generally thought. Also, the structure was not typical of the period, but much more grand.

California Separatist Constitutional Convention

California ponders changes in constitution

This story ponders the complexities of the California Constitution and how they hinder raising taxes, funding the state's ever growing list of ridiculous and anti-American laws, regulations and programs. A state Constitutional Convention is proposed to fix the system.

I call BS.

Latino separatists have wanted this for years, but not for state budgets. Those that say that a convention could be very focused and narrow, just dealing with state budget problems, obviously have not read this or this or this or this or this or this or this.

WCVI Co-Sponsors Summit on California Constitutional Convention
Tuesday's Sacramento summit on a possible new state constitutional convention is picking up some interesting support, including the William C. Velasquez Institute, a think tank on Latino affairs."The disastrous state of California's government is of concern to us all," according to a news release from the institute, which is based in Texas and has offices in California and Florida."Latinos will soon be the majority in California, and we have a vested interest in not only government reform, but making sure our community is properly represented during the convention development process.

This has been a goal of La Raza, Aztlan, the Mexica Movement and other radical groups such as MEChA.

La Raza -Chicano Activism in California
The predicted demographic shift from minority to majority status is a triumph for Chicano activism and brings vast new political opportunities for its leadership. But the literal "retaking" of California pales in comparison to its symbolic value - the long-awaited return of those "illegally annexed territories" which the Chicano movement claims were stolen from their indigenous forebears in 1848, by the occupying forces of the United States, after the Treaty of Guadelupe-Hidalgo.
...

The uniformed "Brown Berets of Aztlan" stood shoulder to shoulder along the walls of the meeting room; Mexican flags were flying and student tee shirts bore the message, "We don't need no stinking green cards." Benicio Silva of UC Berkeley declared that having to show them at the border was a "violation of our human rights" because "Aztlan is ours and the white man is the invader."

"They say we're 'Latinizing' Los Angeles! Don't you love it?" boomed fiery orator Jose Angel Gutierrez, long-time University of Texas faculty member. "We are fighting to build a new Mestizo nation," he shouted, "in this, our historic homeland for for-ty thou-sand years."
At that, the Brown Berets raised their fists in the air and the excited crowd screamed "Chicano Power" and began stomping and clapping with the familiar two-three beat: clap-clap, clap-clap-clap. "We are here again," Gutierrez continued, "we are millions and millions, and the aging white Americans are not making babies, we've got to get ready to govern!"

California is just the start. The Reconquista Movement wants all of the Southwest and as far north as the state of Washington. Their movement is growing and being assisted by many organizations in the US and, it seems, by the government. In doing work throughout the Midwest I saw entire towns of illegal aliens. The surrounding communities state they need the illegal alien's support of the local economies which is what the separatist movement has planned all along.

A Constitutional Convention in California is just their first step.

The First Earth Day April 22, 1970

The first Earth Day observances take place. April 22, 1970 and the assualt on private ownership of land hasn't stopped.

I suggest we start Hearth Day to celebrate family and liberty. Of course we have July 4th, but that day seems to upset liberals.

New York, 1774, Mohawk Tea Party

New York "Mohawks" have a "tea party." April 22, 1774

Also known as the Coercive Acts; a series of British measures passed in 1774 and designed to punish the Massachusetts colonists for the Boston Tea Party. For example, one of the laws closed the port of Boston until the colonists paid for the tea that they had destroyed. Although the acts were intended to check colonial opposition to Britain, they only inflamed it.

Almost everyone, regardless of knowledge of history knows that the patriots who participated in the most famous protest of American Revolution were dressed as Mohawks. But there is almost no information on why this specific disguise was chosen. And the lack of information makes many people believe the Indian dress was chosen merely out of convenience or by chance. Hardly this is the case. The history of Sons of Liberty and Freemasonry shows that these organization place a great deal of importance on symbols. Take for example symbolic hangings of effigies by the Sons or the artifacts of Masonic ceremonies. In fact the Mohawk image was emerging as a revolutionary symbol of liberty in the new land...

Following the Boston tea party, a broadside was widely released - containing a song/poem written about the tea party. It is speculated (in the biography I have of Sam Adams) that he had a hand in writing it. Sounds like his high-energy blazing style.

TEA, DESTROYED BY INDIANS
YE GLORIOUS SONS OF FREEDOM, brave and bold,
That has flood forth ---- fair LIBERTY to hold;
Though you were INDIANS, come from distant shores,
Like MEN you acted --- not like savage Moors.

CHORUS

Our LIBERTY, and LIFE is now invaded,
And FREEDOM's brightest CHARMS are darkly shaded:
But we will STAND --- and think it noble mirth,
To DART the man that dare oppress the Earth.
Bostonian's SONS keep up your Courage good,

Or Dye, like Martyrs, in fair Free-born Blood.
How grand the Scene! --- (No Tyrant shall oppose)
The TEA is sunk in spite of all our foes.
A NOBLE SIGHT -- to see th' accursed TEA
Mingled with MUD -- and ever for to be;
For KING and PRINCE shall know that we are FREE.
Bostonian's SONS keep up your Courage good,
Or Dye, like Martyrs, in fair Free-born Blood.
Must we be still --- and live on Blood-bought Ground,
And not oppose the Tyrants cursed found?
We Scorn the thought -- our views are well refin'd
We Scorn those slavish shackles of the Mind,
"We've Souls that were not made to be confin'd.
"Bostonian's SONS keep up your Courage good,
Or Dye, like Martyrs, in fair Free-born Blood.
Could our Fore-fathers rise from their cold Graves,
And view their Land, with all their Children SLAVES;
What would they say! how would their Spirits rend,
And, Thunder-strucken, to their Graves descend.
Bostonian's SONS keep up your Courage good,
Or Dye, like Martyrs, in fair Free-born Blood.
Let us with hearts of steel now stand the task.
Throw off all darksome ways, nor wear a Mask.
Oh! may our noble Zeal support our frame,
And brand all Tyrants with eternal SHAME.
Bostonian's SONS keep up your Courage good,
And sink all Tyrants in their GUILTY BLOOD.

I.F. Stone, Soviet Agent—Case Closed

John Singleton Mosby - The Grey Ghost

I came across this photograph which brought back many memories.

My childhood was spent with scads of time spent re-enacting the exploits of a distant relative, the Grey Ghost, throughout our fields and woods. I would charge out of ravines and across creeks giving my best rebel yell while I controlled my imaginary horse and the raiders following me. Mosby, in my mind and my mother's stories, always was out front leading his men. Later, when I learned to ride I still had those thoughts and it made me ride a bit more upright.

For evening prayers my mother had taught me to ask God to bless "the General and his eyes beyond the horizon." Just before my father died he asked me one evening who had been Eisenhower's eyes beyond the horizon and why all those years I had held such a fascination for the General. My mother quickly left the room before I answered that the General and his eyes had nothing to do with President Eisenhower, but in fact were Robert E. Lee and J.S. Mosby. I quickly followed my mother before the explosion. I obviously was no fearless Mosby. My father, a Northerner and rock ribbed Unionist, resolutely maintained that all Confederate officers should have been shot at the end of the war for treason to their oaths. My mother's grandfather had been a Colonel with the Virginia 18th, Co E, Army of Northern Virginia.

The only time my mother responded to his spoken thought of firing squads was to gently point out to him that "such an odious act would make our marriage problematic."

Grey Ghost
Mosby’s exploits included a daring raid far inside Union lines at the Fairfax County courthouse in 1863, where his raiders captured some key Union officers, including General Stoughton, whom Mosby found in bed, waking him with a slap to his rear. Upon being so roused, the general exclaimed, "Do you know who I am?" Mosby quickly replied, "Do you know Mosby, general?" "Yes! Have you got the rascal?" "No but he has got you!"
...

He was also a vital element in the Confederate secret service, moving spies into and out of Washington; he frequently rode himself in disguise into the capital. Once while in Washington, Mosby sent of a lock of his hair to Abraham Lincoln as a gift. It is reported that Lincoln’s keen sense of humor fully appreciated the gesture. Mosby and his notorious raiders refused to surrender at the end of the war. While the group disbanded, they never surrendered.

Mosby spent his later years in San Francisco with friends and family. One particular family lived nearby with a young boy. The boy would often come over and eagerly listen to the stories of the old Grey Ghost. Mosby would entertain the young boy with tales of his gallant exploits and daring raids. The two became fast friends and would play war games outside. Mosby taught the young boy the secrets of Guerilla warfare. He taught him to fight like a raider, to fight like a guerilla.

The young boy was George S. Patton.

Tea Parties Really Getting Under Lib/Dem Skin

Now! Hampshire: The thousands of taxpayers who gathered in several locations around the Granite State on Tax Day “didn’t even know what they were protesting,” according to the state’s top Democratic Party official. “They looked like they lost their minds,” said Ray Buckley, Chairman of the New Hampshire Democratic Party of the protesters.

The protesters knew exactly what they were protesting, but the NH Dem Chair knows that. He's just shilling the party line.

Ahmadinejad Moves People

Yep, Chairman Short moves them right out the door with his words. He is a creepy little man.

Walkout at UN conference after Iran president calls Israel 'racist'

British delegates joined a dramatic diplomatic walkout today when President Ahmadinejad of Iran told a major UN conference against racism that the state of Israel had been founded "on the pretext of Jewish suffering" during the Second World War.

Around 20 delegates, including envoys from the UK, France, and Finland stood up and left the room at what was considered an anti-Semitic remark by the Iranian leader, who has repeatedly called for Israel to be wiped off the map.

Nine Western countries including Israel and the United States had already decided to boycott the conference entirely because its draft declaration endorsed the conclusions of an anti-racism conference in South Africa eight years ago in which Islamic nations pushed through a text equating Zionism with racism.

Even before the walkout, Mr Ahmadinejad's speech had been interrupted by three protesters dressed as clowns who where quickly bundled from the vast conference room at the Palais des Nations by guards.

Christ Covered For Obama At Catholic School

Georgetown Says It Covered Over Name of Jesus to Comply With White House
Georgetown University says it covered over the monogram “IHS”--symbolizing the name of Jesus Christ—because it was inscribed on a pediment on the stage where President Obama spoke at the university on Tuesday and the White House had asked Georgetown to cover up all signs and symbols there. As of Wednesday afternoon, the “IHS” monogram that had previously adorned the stage at Georgetown’s Gaston Hall was still covered up--when the pediment where it had appeared was photographed by CNSNews.com.

President Obama is greeted by Georgetown University President John J. DeGioia as he arrives to deliver remarks on the economy, April 14, 2009, at Georgetown University. Georgetown had covered the symbol "IHS" on the pediment above and behind the two men.

“In coordinating the logistical arrangements for yesterday’s event, Georgetown honored the White House staff’s request to cover all of the Georgetown University signage and symbols behind Gaston Hall stage,” Julie Green Bataille, associate vice president for communications at Georgetown, told CNSNews.com. “The White House wanted a simple backdrop of flags and pipe and drape for the speech, consistent with what they’ve done for other policy speeches,” she added. “Frankly, the pipe and drape wasn’t high enough by itself to fully cover the IHS and cross above the GU seal and it seemed most respectful to have them covered so as not to be seen out of context.”

On Wednesday, CNSNews.com inspected the pediment embedded in the wall at the back of the stage in Gaston Hall, where Obama delivered his speech. The letters “IHS” were not to be found. They appeared to be shrouded with a triangle of black-painted plywood. Pictures of the wooden pediment prior to Obama’s speech show the letters “IHS" in gold. Many photos posted on the Internet of other events at Gaston Hall show the letters clearly. The White House did not respond to a request from CNSNews.com to comment on the covering up of Jesus’ name at Gaston Hall.

Georgetown, which is run by the Jesuit order, is one of the most prestigious Catholic institutions of higher education in the United States.

I bet the White House would not ask liberal groups to cover up their identities. Hell, the White House would work with them to highlight them. I'm surprised that Axlerod hasn't had a fitting for a pink suit for Obama when meets with Medea Benjamin and her 12 disciples.

Jan Schakowsky Despicable And Shameful

It's always dispicable when people speak their minds,eh, Jan?

Schakowsky: Tea parties 'despicable'
Rep. Jan Schakowsky (D-Ill.) blasted "tea party" protests yesterday, labeling the activities "despicable" and shameful."

"The ‘tea parties’ being held today by groups of right-wing activists, and fueled by FOX News Channel, are an effort to mislead the public about the Obama economic plan that cuts taxes for 95 percent of Americans and creates 3.5 million jobs," Schakowsky said in a statement.

"It’s despicable that right-wing Republicans would attempt to cheapen a significant, honorable moment of American history with a shameful political stunt," she added. "Not a single American household or business will be taxed at a higher rate this year. Made to look like a grassroots uprising, this is an Obama bashing party promoted by corporate interests, as well as Republican lobbyists and politicians.”

This is the strongest language to date opposing the protesters, which, according to some estimates, topped 250,000 across the country.

Let's see, do as I say, not as I do?

From April 5, 2009:

Cong. Jan Schakowsky, Robert Creamer, and the Illinois Public Action Council
Earlier today Robert Creamer, the husband of Cong. Jan Schakowsky, (D-IL), was sentenced to five months in prison and 11 months house arrest for his role in a 1990s check-kiting scheme while he was the head of defunct Illinois Public Action Council, a consumer advocacy group.

Schakowsky has not been implicated in the scheme.

Jan Schakowsky is one of the most liberal members of Congress. She is a member of the far-left Progressive Caucus. Other members of the caucus include such "stars" as Cynthia McKinney, Maxine Waters, Dennis Kucinich, Jim McDermott (Baghdad Jim), Bernie Sanders, and Lynn Woolsey.

Schakowsky made her name in the Illinois Public Action Council. From 1976 to 1985, she was the IPAC program director. Four years later, Jan organized a senior-citizen rally that was a TV reporters dream. In 1989, cameras caught Schakowsky-led seniors chasing the powerful then-Chairman of the House Ways and Means Committee, Dan Rostenkowski, (D-IL). That protest drew national attention.

The Illinois Public Action Council was known for the aggressiveness of its members, particular in their "pro-consumer" door-to-door fundraising efforts. Those same IPAC members proved to be a useful ground force that got Schakowsky elected to Congress in 1998.

After Illinois Public Action folded, Robert Creamer went on to serve as a highly paid political consultant for Democrats such as Chicago Mayor Richard Daley, Illinois Governor Rod Blagojevich, Congressman Lane Evans, and Chicago Alderman Joe Moore, among others.

In short, Creamer was not a "Mr. Mom."

(He was also part of Obama's campaign.)

Despicable And Shameful? She's got the right vocab, but has bad aim.

If the rash of 'Tea Party' protests planned for Tax Day 2009 is any indication, the Right Wing in American politics may finally abandon all pretense at what Barry Goldwater once called the "conscience of a conservative." Instead of that lofty, albeit tattered ambition, the Right Wing of 2009 is rapidly embracing a wild-eyed, media manipulated, and self-destructive "conspiracy theory conservatism."

If I were a Republican leader, I would be very worried about this change. Should it come to pass that conspiracy theory conservatism wins out once and for good over Goldwater conservatism, the Republican Party will be doomed, broken, kaput.

And then there is the ever lovely, vivacious and estimable Jane Hamsher.

The Corporate Lobbyists Behind the Tea Parties
Maybe they're afraid that if people knew that those behind the demonstrations were the very same lobbyists and influence peddlers the teabaggers claim to decry, the whole thing would be revealed to be what it is -- a hollow excercise in extremist right-wing hypocrisy.

This one from the Atlantic is fun. Hoogly boogly men behind every tree. Hoogly boogly being shorthand for conservative libertarian.

The Santelli Conspiracy?*
Update: As Megan McArdle notes, this story appears to be completely bogus.
Was Rick Santelli's "Chicago Tea Party" a spontaneous expression of populist outrage? Or was it a carefully orchestrated media campaign that was planned long before Santelli's now-famous socialist-bashing
CNBC rant? Mark Ames and Yasha Levine suggest that Santelli's mini-movement was in fact bought and paid for by a network of right-of-center moguls led by the Koch family, best known for their outsized backing of libertarian causes.

Then there is the respected journalists at Playboy. Feminists all. Too bad Playboy found out this story was completely bogus and took it down. That's just proof that people buy Playboy for the articles. Not the pictures.

Playboy dips a toe into investigative journalism
What we discovered is that Santelli's "rant" was not at all spontaneous as his alleged fans claim, but rather it was a carefully-planned trigger for the anti-Obama campaign. In PR terms, his February 19th call for a "Chicago Tea Party" was the launch event of a carefully organized and sophisticated PR campaign, one in which Santelli served as a frontman, using the CNBC airwaves for publicity, for the some of the craziest and sleaziest rightwing oligarch clans this country has ever produced. Namely, the Koch family, the multibilllionaire owners of the largest private corporation in America, and funders of scores of rightwing thinktanks and advocacy groups, from the Cato Institute and Reason Magazine to FreedomWorks. The scion of the Koch family, Fred Koch, was a co-founder of the notorious extremist-rightwing John Birch Society.

And then there is Cooper who is a big part of why CNN has become a joke. It's always funny to share vulgar gay humor with one's audience.

CNN's Anderson Cooper: 'It's Hard to Talk When You're Tea-Bagging'
CNN anchor Anderson Cooper followed his colleague David Shuster into the gutter on his Anderson Cooper 360 program on Tuesday in making a vulgar “tea-bagging” joke about Republicans/conservatives. After CNN’s senior political analyst David Gergen remarked that Republicans were “searching for their voice” after two electoral losses, Cooper quipped, “It’s hard to talk when you’re tea-bagging.” [audio available here]

Andy keeps them rolling at any Bar & Bath or over at Blogger Interrupted who stole Andy's line to humor all of us with his witty and self deprecating headline.

Seems that JournoList memo made it to everybody.

Desperately Seeking Reading Help

I'm not sure what your reading comprehension level is after reading this post, so here's another post on this topic with a video you can watch:

Video: Right-wing Bets Against U.S. In Pirate Standoff
http://www.progressohio.org/page...aveharding/ CqhZ
Dave

The above comment was left for my post concerning the rescue of Capt. Phillips:
Are Progressives Torn Over The Freeing Of Captain Phillips?
Progress Ohio had this post up this morning. It is a shameless attack on the morals of all the people following this ordeal. It is also a very sad comment on the author.

I must admit, I am deeply wounded by such a critique of my reading skills, but I shall endeavor to rise above it somehow. It is wearisome knowing I shall never be intellectual enough to be a Progressive, but that is only one more burden to carry and I shall once again endeavor to bear it.
Also, I must admit that a source such as Kos TV is hard to refute in the mind of a Progressive. Especially with the obvious editing skill of the person who put this masterpiece together.

So, once again I will say that this is a shameless attack on fellow citizens, even by the intellectual standards of Dave.

Did conservatives want Capt. Phillips murdered, say like the 100's of thousands Saddam murdered, just to have a political point to score? No and nor did the people on Dave's Kos TV video. They questioned Obama's ability to handle this matter and based on the events as they were unfolding and based on comments by President Obama during the campaign and leading up to the event, they were in my mind, right to do so. Oh wait, they must be racists. OMG, that means I am one.

The left appears incapable of understanding that a loyal opposition hopes that Obama's programs, not Obama, to fail. Actually, they are well aware of the frivolousness of that charge, but they'd rather the political battles be fought on that ground rather than honestly. The race card has been good to the left. Unfortunately, the race card has not been good for blacks, whites and other races, but when one wants to paint they opponents with a wide brush race will do I guess.

So did the Right want Obama to fail and Capt. Phillips murdered for political gain? Again, no. Nor are we racists as the Democrat Party history has shown itself for decades.

Racists are mean-spirited little nothings. Just as are those that falsely accuse others of being party to murder for political gain. Those that constantly feel the need to interject personal slurs are just sad.

Are Progressives Torn Over The Freeing Of Captain Phillips?

Progress Ohio had this post up this morning. It is a shameless attack on the morals of all the people following this ordeal. It is also a very sad comment on the author.

(photo of crying baby in suit with GOP pin)
Wingnuts hoped Obama would fail this test. They wanted him to "be like Jimmy Carter." Just hours after the hijacking, long before most of the facts were known, Republicans and conservative bloggers were placing massive bets against the ability of the United States--under the leadership of the Obama administration--to deal with this crisis.

Once again, as in November, they lost and America won.

God bless the unit that freed the captain from captivity and his family from fear.

FUGLY

English Heritage has included the centre in Birmingham among the 30 best schemes in its book Shared Interest.

The £500m Bullring, which was completed in 2003, is described as being part of Birmingham's "famous architectural rebirth" in the past two decades.

English Heritage said the Selfridges building was "brashly exciting" and St Martin's Church was better presented.
The translation for the above statement is, "This hideous building is a blight on any neighborhood, especially this neighborhood, but we at English Heritage, being on the public dole, can do what we damned well please when we destroy your neighborhood with your money and our total lack of taste, history and remorse. Tata, you bloody wankers."

Demand $2 Million To Let Pirates Live

Pirates want $2 million for American hostage

Demand $2 million and the return of the ship captain from the pirates terrorists or we'll kill them. Then we'll hunt down the rest.

Might as well make them cover the cost of their demise. It's not the bullets that are expensive, it's their delivery and in this Obama economy we have to find other sources of funds where we can.

Troofers For Osama

Dutch TV show exonerates Osama bin Laden
A Dutch TV jury has found Osama bin Laden not guilty of the Sept. 11 attacks.

I love these people. The more serious they are, the more entertaining they are. The article itself is just standard shtick, but the real fun stuff is in the comments.

1. FredW comments:
April 10, 2009
Several of the films made about 9-11 show that Bin Lauden in fact did not claim responsibllity for the attacks and that the films and where he appears to do so are crude fabrications. Some of the other "evidence" for his involvement, such as the cellphone call (there was only one) about arabs with box cutters and the video of Mohamed Atta at the airport have also been shown to be fakes. For reference, listen to any recent talk on youtube by David Ray Griffin.

FredW is on this like white on rice. No doubt the thousands of FBI/NSA/CIA/WHATEVER midgets setting the charges to blow up the buildings and holding toy airliners in the sky wore stealth cloaking devices so none of us could see them. Our government is ingenious that way.

Obama's DREAM Amnesty For More Dem Voters

ACORN is already counting them for the post census redistricting.

The DREAM Act in the 111th Congress
S. 729 and H.R. 1751

In-State Tuition for Future Illegal Aliens
• The bill retroactively repeals the federal ban on in-state tuition for illegal aliens, thus
nullifying the lawsuits already decided in favor of the federal ban, but currently under
appeal.

The Amnesty
• To qualify for lawful permanent resident status, an applicant must be inadmissible or
deportable and must:
o Have been physically present in the US for the five years preceding the date of
enactment (the bill does not specify how aliens are to prove this, or even whether
they have to prove it);
o Have been under the age of 16 upon entry into the US;
o Be a “person of good moral character,” but only AFTER the application is filed;
o Not have been convicted of an aggravated felony or more than two misdemeanors
(though being charged with such crimes is fine);
o Not be a known terrorist or national security risk;
o Not be a known/convicted smuggler or human trafficker (all other immigration
violations are fine, and this one can be waived for humanitarian or family unity
purposes);
o Not have abducted a child and taken the child to a different country.
o At the time of filing an application, have been admitted to an institution of higher
education, or have a high school diploma or a GED;
o Have never received a final order of removal or exclusion unless the alien
successfully played the legal system and found a way to remain in the US under
color of law, or the final order was issued before the alien turned 16; and
o Be under 35 years of age as of the date of enactment.

• There are no numerical limits on how many illegal aliens may be granted amnesty, and
they cannot be counted against any existing immigration cap.

• There is no end date on the application period, so an alien who enters illegally next year,
but who can purchase or fabricate “evidence” indicating that he meets the requirements,
can apply for amnesty.

• No alien who files an amnesty application may be removed from the United States before
the application is adjudicated completely. There are no exceptions to this, so as long as an alien filed an amnesty application before he flew a plane into the World Trade Center or went on a killing spree in the local mall, he could not be removed from the country until USCIS (hopefully) denied his application and he exhausted all appeals.

Go read the rest and look at what our future looks like.

Obama & States Overspending Similarity

There are a lot of similarities between these two maps which 1) shows states with an overspending problem and 2) shows states that voted for Obama.

Here in Ohio, Republicans, in years past, teed up the overspending ball, but Democrat Gov. Strickland has driven it down the fairway towards bankruptcy. Higher taxes will drive more business out of state, prevent business from coming to Ohio, stop new business start ups and send them all over seas.

Public Education Has Brought Us Socialism As A Reality

Notice the numbers of the younger group of respondents. The national teacher unions are succeeding in destroying the American dream.

Just 53% Say Capitalism Better Than Socialism

Soon we can all enjoy the grayness of "equality" in a socialist state where government rules absolutely everything including freedom, creativity, religion, business and an individual's ability to participate in these things.

And now we have Obama, Pelosi and Reid running the executive and legislative branchs of government. They're two thirds of the way to their goal.

Gateway Pundit has more on this.

Obama Secret Trip To Iraq To Reward Soldiers With Medals Of Valour

MoveOn and kos not consulted. Must be miffed. Sullivan and Huffy will point out this is part of a grand Obama plan to wind down the war.

OBAMA: BAGHDAD

It's very funny to read outlets such as Reuters that are falling all over themselves to point out that Obama inherited the Iraq War from Bush and completely omits the fact that Obama is handing out medals to our soldiers.

They were able to write that bad visibility prevented Iraqi leaders from meeting with Obama, but that he would speak with them by telephone. This is no doubt because Obama inherited bad climates from Bush.

Obama, First European President of The United States

This just about wraps up Obama perfectly. Go read the rest.

The Obama Assault on Sovereignty
And, at the very time he was crisscrossing Europe pretending to be the first European president of the United States, his defense budget cuts were announced. They include a $5 billion cut to the military’s modernization programs, and a near 17 percent cut in the budget for missile defense—just two days after North Korea launched its long-range missile. Why is national security the only area of the budget in which he shows fiscal restraint? Combined with his abdication of American leadership at the G-20 and NATO summits, this weakening of American military power heavily implies that Obama has consciously accepted the idea that America is and should be a declining military power.

At least he got to kiss a Sarkozy.

Obama UN Drop Hammer On North Korea

A defiant North Korea had a show and tell session to boost their illegal sales of advanced weaponry to dictators, despots and Islamofascists when they launched a long range rocket that fizzled out over the Pacific.

After NKorean rocket, US presses for punishment

An equally defiant Obama along his backups, the Defiantettes, U.S. Ambassador Susan Rice and the UN Security Council, have put Kim Jong II, a big film buff, on Double Secret Probation which should scare the beJesus out of Minnie Me. Nothing a little chat won't clear up. Well, maybe also a time out for Kim Jong Jr to contemplate his true place in the universe. That'll do it.

Golly gee, we're safe now,

Obama To Boost Cuban Economy

I'm seeing a pattern here.

U.S to Lift Some Cuba Travel Curbs

Maybe Axelrod had Cuba on ASK Strategies' secret client list.

Obama chose this clown to be his personal lawyer, which is pretty sad;

White House Counsel: Gregory Craig: Craig represented the father (thus really Castro & the Cuban Communist Party) of Elian Gonzalez; Juan Miguel, where he successfully got the boy who had escaped to freedom sent back to Communist Cuba at gunpoint in a major international incident. Craig, once President Clinton's attorney, called the case 'one of the most satisfying experiences I have had as a lawyer.' Craig also prepared two private jets to aid Gonzalez's forced return to Cuba. After SWAT teams seized Elian, he was held prisoner at the Aspen Institute's Wye River property until being sent to Cuba. More Info. Obama's Attorney General Eric Holder also helped evict Elian back to the clutches of Castro. Shame on Obama.

Elephant

Chad Shue, Progressive Loser of the Week

In the comment section following an article about the 300 (and growing) "Tea Parties" that are planned for Tax Us Till We Bleed Day (April 15th) a writer wrote about the media's refusal to cover the events and Chad Shue wrote a typical progressive (childish) follow up.

Chad Shue says:
Kathy,

Lonely out in the wilderness, huh?
Peace,Chad Shue
Seattle Progressive Politics Examiner

Kathy says:
As long as the mainstream media continues to not cover conservative protests, those protests will be futile. What's needed are wide spread fiscal protests of the media. Hit them where it hurts, in the wallet, and they will start to report in a fair manner.

Why Not Legalize? Time's Been Doing Doobs For Years

Doesn't their reporting make better sense now? Especially the authors.

For the past several years, I've been harboring a fantasy, a last political crusade for the baby-boom generation. We, who started on the path of righteousness, marching for civil rights and against the war in Vietnam, need to find an appropriately high-minded approach to life's exit ramp. In this case, I mean the high-minded part literally.

You santimonious cretin. Brag all you want about causing millions of SE Asian murders.
As for civil rights, do you actually think it was only you, marching for a good feeling, that actually made the change? In fact, it wasn't the marcher that changed civil rights, it was the workplace, the military, the suburbs, the voter and all of the good Americans that changed civil rights. Yes, even Norman Rockwell was for civil rights.

How's your self righteousness working out for you now Joe?
Joe? Joey? Look at yourself. Covered in munchie crumbs and smelling like a burned rope. Joey, stop the drooling and tell us some more fables.

Obama, Court Jester Understudy, For Geithner

My, how quickly the bubble has formed around Obama, completely obliterating reality and puffing up his ego to the size of Pink Floyd's famous pig blimp.

Inside Obama's meeting with bank CEOs
The bankers struggled to make themselves clear to the president of the United States.

Arrayed around a long mahogany table in the White House state dining room last week, the CEOs of the most powerful financial institutions in the world offered several explanations for paying high salaries to their employees – and, by extension, to themselves.

“These are complicated companies,” one CEO said. Offered another: “We’re competing for talent on an international market.”

But President Barack Obama wasn’t in a mood to hear them out. He stopped the conversation, and offered a blunt reminder of the public’s reaction to such explanations. “Be careful how you make those statements, gentlemen. The public isn’t buying that.”

“My administration,” the president added, “is the only thing between you and the pitchforks.”

Pitchforks? Does he mean like peasants in Shelley's Frankenstein, chasing down the monster while waving torches to ward off the night, but crazed with fear?

Obama's campaign created the fear. To get elected. As a junior Senator Obama refused to listen to the warning on Capitol Hill. Maybe he just didn't want to rock the boat. The polls probably told him not to.

Sadness In Elyria

William Ely, grandson of Heman Ely, moves into this fine home in 1882 with his new bride. When she dies suddenly three years later, the grief-stricken William vows that the house will remain exactly as she had left it.

William A. Ely home(after years of neglect) As years turn to decades, cobwebs and dust pile up. Mold slowly destroys the rugs, upholstery, curtains, and wallpaper. The sad house will finally be taken down over 50 years later.

Minnie Me North Korea Channels Mel Gibson's William Wallace

The difference between reality and a desired projected image meant to imply seriousness.

Young Soldier: William Wallace is seven feet tall!

William Wallace: Yes, I've heard. Kills men by the hundreds. And if HE were here, he'd consume the English with fireballs from his eyes, and bolts of lightning from his arse.

It's not easy being Minnie Me. The qualifier here is that he may be frozen next to Elvis and Walt Disney.
Why doesn't Obama just fire the head of North Korea, send in Lil' Timmy and set their world aright again just like here? They could call it 'compassionate catastrophe II.'
