Happy New Year From Dr. Obama

To paraphrase everyone's favorite congressional clown, the Honorable Alan Grayson of Florida, "Die quickly."

Big Health-Care Changes Arrive in New Year
Alan Grayson- courtesy Capone's of
Chicago Haberdashey-Since 1929

New taxes on drug makers, lower prescription-drug costs for seniors and restrictions on tax-free medical spending accounts are among a slate of health-law provisions that kick in Saturday.
The changes show how the law will begin to reshape American health care, even as opponents try to overturn the measure in Congress and the courts.

Speaking of Grayson, has he gone back to ambulance chasing or has he redefined the Peter Principle and gotten a job as a hands on honey dipper?

BS Alert: "cannot comment on specific cases" Because It's CYA First

Second comes the lying and spinning and then the third step is a gaggle of lawyers spinning and lying to prove the victim wrong.

Sacramento girl needed amputations after 5-hour wait at emergency room

Fourth step is to have a herd of lawyers defending the government's right to deny any medical attention.

School board: Media 'inaccurate' about student's suspension

Fifth step is to have a multitude of lawyers descending on communities to protect teachers and administrators too stupid to be around children.

“Cloward-Piven strategy wasn’t exactly a brilliant success”

via Instapundit

Yes, it was. Welfare rolls doubled. “Necessary” programs were added and expanded into areas that governments had never ventured before creating whole new classes of beneficiaries, now, including those living illegally in America.

The Cloward-Piven strategy was adopted, altered and put to work in our education system from K to advanced degree programs, used to build union enrollment and became the strategy de jour of our political, both Republican and Democrat, class in state houses and Washington, DC. The Cloward-Piven crowd sat back in smug enjoyment and plotted to expand it even more as movements such as AGW, anarchists and self incited (insert aggrieved party name) and other groups flood the system with not only their problems, but their self appointed resolutions which stripped down were/are merely the amount of the acceptable bribe (with a COLA built in).

Having a Congress here and there throw a setback now and again did not stop the misunderstood juggernaut that continues to tear our nation apart. Which brings us to today with Kucinich, Waters, Schumer, Boxer, Pelosi, Reid and Obama.

Cloward-Pivens is healthy and alive and will be much harder to kill today than before as even a stake through their black hearts may not be enough and shame is a garlic that has no effect.

Ohio & Seven Other States To Increase Minimum Wage

Ohio and seven other states to decrease employment further.

Now that Republicans in Congress will read the Constitution aloud at the beginning of the new year's session maybe we at the state level can impose a test before legislators can vote. A test that would make members successfully define basic economic terms and a public exam where they balance a checkbook. That should cut their numbers by 3/4. That's a good thing.

How Stupid Are The Washington Post, Newsweek & MSNBC For Not Knowing How Stupid Ezra Klein Is?

Nora: (giggle) They are going to read the Constitution aloud. Is this a gimmick"

Ezra: Yes, it's a gimmick (giggle).

Reading comprehension isn't what it used to be, eh? Say, over 100 years ago?

Once Again Obama Tells Voters To Screw Off

How unfortunate for Obama that the American people have a say in their government. When the current Congress isn't kowtowing to the One he ignores them. If Obama wasn't the duly elected president he would be on the CIA's Most Wanted List.

So much for bipartisanship -- a slew of recess appointments

Yep, Obama can't even get his people okayed by his rubber stamp Congress so he waits for a recess to slip them in. Especially the most egregious appointments.

How Obama. Screw off America. I don't need no stinkin' okay from the likes of you.

No Legislation Without Representation

I own the World has a great post you should read and comment on and then pass along to other people concerning the circumvention of our Constitution.

‘We The People’ Need to Protect Our Constitution

'We the people' means nothing to Obama and his administration so it it time we the people take our government back.

LaGuardia 48 Hours After The Storm

The storm hit and the preparations and recovery were bungled badly. We were lucky to be on a flight that wasn't cancelled and actually took off.

These are the same government officials that support Obama's takeover of our lives.

Yank E. Doodle's 2011 Wish List

Yank is going to be busy helping old Cub Scouts out on the eve of the New Year so he stopped by for a nip of Flip (the  aqua vitae) bringing his good friend Increase Mather which was a real downer for the Doodle family. All in all it was a good time and many a good thought was bandied about the abode.

You must understand that Yank is a down to earth type with a sense that should be common to all, but unfortunately isn't. Where Increase tends to pontificate Yank speaks to the heart of the nation. He had some thoughts not often spoken in the town square or near the town crier.

Yank's thoughts on the direction of a nation intending to stay a nation:

1. Why do we put up with politicians that lie? Oh, they may classify such villainous behavior as "speaking truth to power", but let us be bold in saying they take power by spaking no truth. I say let them have Pillory! With rotten vegetables. Publicly.

2. Where in the history of nations does it say that diplomatically putting up with enemies that constantly threaten us is more appropriate than squashing them like bugs to better allow us to be more productive and happier in our lives?

3. Alex Hamilton is a smart bastard, but his banks and taxes will get out of hand. Trust me on this. They will. It's their nature. They say a pence when they mean a pound (see #1). Soon they'' tax our living and call it a good thing. Don't get me started on Benny Franklin and all of his "good works" crap. Taxes will deform a man's vision of work and will be the doom of us as men with no function will profit from the publik square for no benefit, but their own.

4. Tommy Jefferson has got to step up to the plate. No more mister nice guy. All those books (see #3) have him talking to Adams which means more guvment which means more King Charles and his mad court right here in our Confederation (see #1). I thought the idea was not to allow guvment to tell us what we can do, but for us to tell guvment what they can't do. Mark my words, we'll need the constitution to make a document or something. It's come to that!

5. Paddy Henry is barking up the right tree with his "Give me liberty or give me death" stuff. He told me just the other day that some people were saying that government owed them something (see #4). Huh? Where's the liberty in that? They're sounding like a bunch of sissified Frenchies waiting for a favor from Court.

Alas, Yank had to go back to work. Increase having never uttered a coherent thought nipped some Flip for the ride home. Back to work meself, it is.

States Losing Pop Lost Dough

The Tax Prof revisits the top states losing population and points to their tax rates as the culprit. I would also be interested in their tax structure for individuals and for business.

Out of interest I went to look at the election results for those states to see which populations have learned from their past voting mistakes. Those that learned have a tough road ahead, but those who didn't learn, well, I bet they'll have their greasy little palms out pretty soon.

The biggest congressional losers in the census voted this way in the 2010 elections:

New York Stayed D except St Sen Worst Mayor Bloomberg-NYC
Ohio Went R Worst Mayor Mallory-Cincinnati
Massachusetts Stayed D (what, no Boston?)
Michigan Went R Worst Mayor Bing-Detroit, Majewski-Hamtranck
New Jersey na Worst Mayor Booker-Newark, Redd-Camden, Jones-Paterson
Pennsylvania Went R Worst Mayor McMahon-Reading
Illinois Stayed Dem Worst Mayor Gerl-Joliet, Daly-Chicago
Iowa Went R
Louisiana na
Missouri Went R

California will probably be the first state to whine like the baby they are for money to right all their wrongs, because in the end it is really our fault they can't live in the real world. Look for NY, MA and IL to start crying in unison when California starts. Then the whole nursery will start screaming.

NYT Has Finally Jumped The Shark

and not a minute too soon.

NYT MONDAY: Jon Stewart 'modern-day equivalent of Edward R. Murrow'... Developing...

I started to find the NYT and those that needed to hang on its daily word a tad foolish years ago. Actually it was more than years ago. It was back when the earth was still cooling.

What I Got For Christmas

I got few presents because for us it is more about family and the birth of Jesus. What I received is useful, nice and actually what I wanted.

I also got some presents I didn't want, don't need and are as useless as the governance we've been creeping towards since the "I Like Ike" era.

I got reporters that continue to lie about everything under the sun and beyond.

I got Republicans that think Obama will be just fine.

I got a lame duck that should've been put out of its misery before it got lame.

I got clueless Republicans.

I got a refurbished death panel.

I got a lot of things I wish I could return tomorrow.

UPDATE: The comics at the NYT just dropped another present in my lap.

Birth Of Christ

Leonardo da Vinci, (unfinished) Adoration, 1481-2. Florence, Galleria degli Uffizi.

This unfinished panel in the Uffizi is nonetheless a masterpiece of the Florentine Renaissance. Observe the application of Albertian principles to draw the view in (the figures looking out at us or gesturing at us to look in), Leonardo’s own theories about creating dramatic contrasts between figural types (young and old, beautiful and harsh), and Renaissance rules of geometry, like the strong triangle created by the central figures. In its unfinished state this panel also teaches us about the mater’s technique of working on a dark panel and building up first the shadows, then the colour.

China Isolates Itself Further As Country Starts Its Fall

China with its economy may implode. The United States with its economy may implode. Our Congress meets this pending disaster with repeal of DADT and more government. China's government meets their disaster by banning English words in publications and more government.

In a world where stupidity has been affordable for years it is only a guess which government is more stupid. China holds our future by holding our debt and we hold their future by buying or not buying their exports. A financial version of MAD.

There would be little difference if we swapped leadership.

Marine Corps Bumper Sticker

"It's God's Job to Forgive Bin Laden -- It's Our Job To Arrange The Meeting"

Obama Signs Do Ask Do Tell And Exhibits Total Disconnect With Reality

"People will look back at this moment and wonder why it was even a controversy in the first place."

Obama to sign DADT repeal before big, emotional crowd

Obama doesn't know why it was controversial? Therein lies a deep disconnect and a problem for us when our leader states such an incredibly naive thought.

Obama signs historic bill ending "don't ask, don't tell"

Liberals and progressives are kicking our butts in this lame duck session not only with legislation by also by royal federal decree and each new blow is designed to deflect public attention from what has been done.

From the federal takeover of the Internet to the destruction of the family farm through "safe food" legislation to outing thousands of gays in the military this administration and their fellow travelers in Congress and the bureaucracy are deconstructing our Republic into their own twisted image.

The Socialist Takeover Of The Internet

We got blindsided by wealthy socialist/marxist groups and the ramifications will shackle us in ways we don't yet understand. We don't understand because we don't think like socialists and can't begin to comprehend their faith in failed systems such as Socialism and Marxism. Nor can we comprehend their fear and hatred of freedom.

The Net Neutrality Coup
The campaign to regulate the Internet was funded by a who's who of left-liberal foundations

Indeed, it is a coup against us and against freedom. We lost.

FCC "Fixes" What Ain't Broken

It's about power and control by the United States Government and the Obama administration over private citizens.

Net nuetrality? Just like regulating the telephone system? BS.

Divided FCC adopts internet rules

When will leftist's other big government bullies find that enough is enough? Never. They are the real obesity problem in America. Fat headed and way to big. Fire them all and start over.

Beware Thyself

Attorney General's Blunt Warning on Terror Attacks

What was uppermost on his mind, however, is the alarming rise in the number of Americans who are more than willing to attack and kill their fellow citizens.

"It is one of the things that keeps me up at night," Holder said. "You didn't worry about this even two years ago -- about individuals, about Americans, to the extent that we now do. And -- that is of -- of great concern."

Amen. 2012, please time warp here and now. The assault has become too much.

How Much Will Lame Ducks Gregg & Voinovich Screw Republicans & The Country

First DADT, then the odious food bill written to kill the family farm amd now we have the obviously Russian written START treaty.

Dems reach magic number on arms treaty as GOP support builds

“I’m leaning toward supporting the treaty but I want to makes sure our side gets a fair hearing,” Sen. Judd Gregg (N.H.) said.

Sen. George Voinovich of Ohio: “I support it.”

It's quite a legacy these people are leaving with this type of anti-Republican which are anti-America votes.

If States Like Ohio Want To Gain Population And Business They Must Go Conservative

Yep, states are losing population which leave soon after liberals impose their policies which drives business out state. And liberals don't get it.

New population count may complicate Obama 2012 bid

The only way possible for a state to rebound is with a good business environment which will bring a good environment of quality life. Ohio is a perfect example of how to ruin a state which liberal tax and spend policies have been pursued by Democrats and RINOs.

The Tea Party Defeated The Dream Act & Will Defeat Those Who Voted For The Repeal Of DADT

Nothing like a progressive president to remind voters what they don't like about government.

Who Killed DREAM? The Tea Party Did

Making illegal immigrants legal just to grow the Democrat base is wrong. Making the military fall in line with business just to pay the base back for their voting and donation support is wrong. The military is not just like other entities. It stands alone in its rules and regulation to do its sole mission well which is to kill and win wars. Homosexual awareness seminars will not further that goal. Placing new guidelines for a newly recognized group within the military for promotion and command will not further that goal.

Obama & Reid Finally Find A Use For The Military

Social engineering.

Congress Passes "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" Repeal

Jonn Lilyea said it best, "If only the President was this committed to fighting the war in Afghanistan to a successful conclusion."

The only time these guys (O-man & Reidy) are really full of fight is when it debilitates our military's ability to fight.

I betcha Reid AND Pelosi will kiss and makeup with Obama over the tax vote so they can muscle each other to have their grinning mugs in the middle of the signing photo.

Dream Act 5 Votes Short

Just in. The libs needed 60 votes and they couldn't get them.

I'd like to know the names of the 55 who supported this shameful legislation.

Petulant Pelosi & Teed Reid Wouldn't Play With Clinton & Obama

They stayed home and held their breath until they turned blue. And stomped their feet.

Pelosi skips the Tax Cut Bill signing - Reid's a no-show, too

Morons Forcing Us To Watch Ads Before Viewing Videos Online

Put another way, they are real morons if they think this practice sells anything.

I have a robust computer so that I can work, search and play on the Internet. More and more when I go to watch a linked video, usually from dinosaurs like ABCCBSNBC, I must first watch an ad. I can't skip the ad. I must let it play through before I can view what I came to see.

I immediately hit the back button and move on to another item.

They've got their free market and I've got mine.

John Kerry's Intelligence As Mythical As His Medals

John Kerry. Still lookin' good in his windsurfing spandex. Still married to a dead Republican's wife who is worth 57 gazillion dollars. John Kerry, still a tad iffy on history, dates, times and math.

GOP will paralyze Senate floor with reading of 1,924-page spending bill

“The irony, the hypocrisy of us sitting here with them standing up and saying 'Oh my Gosh, it’s the last minute,' ” he added. “It’s the last minute because they haven’t let us do anything. The game plan is usually to keep preventing things from happening.”

How many Democrat and Independent votes are there in the current Congress Johnny Boy? So, who's preventing who? If you believe your statement true, how pathetic is that?

So Johnny F. are you afraid that if senators actually hear what is in the bill that you might not have enough time to get to your mansion of choice to celebrate the birth of Christ?

Same Old Crap: Sherrod Brown & Voinoch Part Of Pork Parade

Between these two porkers they stuffed 155 earmarks in the "Omnibus" budget bill.

Aren't elections great.

There are a ton of Republicans on the list.

The next election will be even greater and will empty the trough and the sty.

Maybe they need to earmark some money for hearing aides. They can't hear. They sure as hell don't need glasses. None of them even read the crap they vote on.

UPDATE:

Congress's contempt for voters hits new high

The bill is exactly what the voters rejected on November 2nd. It's 1924 pages and will cost $1.1 trillion. No one has had a chance to read it, but Harry Reid hopes to ram it through in the last hours before Christmas. Does this sound familiar?

Read the whole post. Spot on.
Gathering Storm

For Educators And Their Union 'Christmas Is A Dilemma'

"It's actually called the 'December dilemma' that many, many schools face." So said Superintendent Juli Di Chiro.

School district implements guidelines for holiday decor

Solution? Put all religious symbols on a pine tree. But what will pagans say if it is a cut tree? Should Satan be displayed on a 'Christmas' tree? Will they put a Menorah right next to Crescent of Islam (The faith of Islam has historically had no symbol, and many refuse to accept what is essentially an ancient pagan icon. It is certainly not in uniform use among Muslims.)?

Maybe there will be room for Mary, mother of Jesus. Right next to a quaint Whore of Babylon of course.

I remember when teachers were in a union with parents and children instead of being in unions against children and parents. And America and her traditions.

Jesus Christ Was A Drunken Socialist Bum

via American Power

This is disgraceful, but what is more disgraceful is the disingenuous author who, with a smile, states she is praising Jesus. Even more disgraceful are the 'educators' that find that "the book's educational merit outweighed its shortcomings." Even when they read the obscenities? So vulgar language, drug use and disguised political propaganda is okay for high school students...

Jesus Was a Wine-Guzzling Vagrant and Socialist?

In a passage describing a tent revival meeting she attended, Ehrenreich writes about feeling troubled by its emphasis on Jesus' crucifixion and wishing the preacher would focus more on his teachings of social and economic justice.

"Jesus makes his appearance here only as a corpse; the living man, the wine-guzzling vagrant and precocious socialist, is never once mentioned, nor anything he ever had to say," she wrote.

How far down this slippery slope we have come. It's getting more slippery.

'No Label' Party Will Label 'Haters', Already Has

This is from a story in the Columbus Dispatch in which the reporter goes to great lengths to 'report' on the moderate nature of the new Coffee Party No Labels Party. Yeah, laughable comes to mind, but one has to decide whether its the story, the reporting or the subject.

Moderates gather under No Labels

Prominent politicians taking part in launching No Labels included New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg, an independent; Florida Gov. Charlie Crist, a Republican; and U.S. Sens. Debbie Stabenow of Michigan and Evan Bayh of Indiana, both Democrats. The group has raised more than $1 million in an effort to establish chapters in all 435 congressional districts and on college campuses.

If Charlie Crist is a Republican then Madonna really is a virgin. Who could quibble that Michael "Mr Salt of the Earth" Bloomberg and Debbie "Cash for Clunkers" Stabenow are moderate? Poor Evan Bayh, always looking to fit in, but never liberal enough for his liberal friends.

Yeah, a party that refuses to say who is funding it is moderate. A party that includes disaffected Republican losers is moderate.

Did someone say moderate?

Nah, no one would be that bought dumb.

Do We Need A Larger Congress?

Size matters, lawsuit says of U.S. House

Yeah, when the local Weight Watchers group stops losing weight they'll just increase the size of the doughnut selection.

Judge: You Can't Make Them Buy Health Insurance!

About time! Congress and the Obama Administration has been shredding the Constitution for two years and it's time someone said "Stop."

Judge rejects key part of Obama healthcare law

Elections still mean something, as in the will of the people, and the over reach of liberals/progressives/socialists has been rejected. Now is time to start rolling back the crap they have foisted on us since 1929.

John Boehner speaks often of the American Dream and about his family and other families that have striven for it. His detractors laugh at his emotion about the subject and scoff at an "american dream" that only comes off the backs of others. They haven't lived it.

Another family lived the American Dream when a boy who would only grow to five foot tall, grew up in a fatherless home which was a cold water flat with a privy out back for all the residents and be the first in his family to finish high school. He went on to work his way through college and medical school and become a very successful doctor. Along the way he won the heart of a very smart and beautiful young lady who came from an old and good family. They had 6 children. Each child had to work starting at 14 and just like their parents each child had to give to the church and others in need. They understood the American Dream.

They would understand John Boehner.

The Symbolic Act Of Destroying Symbols Is A Childish Act By Childish Minds

Directed at Christians or society?

'Vandals have hacked at the heart of Christianity': 2,000-year-old Holy Thorn Tree of Glastonbury is cut down

I feel sad for those that are profoundly affected by this. People such as me.

I feel more sad for the empty person or people that did this.

BROUGHT TO LIFE BY JOSEPH OF ARIMATHEA, CHOPPED DOWN BY CROMWELL'S ROUNDHEADS, REBORN THANKS TO LOCALS

Christian legend dictates that Jesus's great uncle, Joseph of Arimathea, came to Britain after the crucifixion 2,000 years ago bearing the Holy Grail - the cup used by Christ at the Last Supper.

He visited Glastonbury and thrust his staff into Wearyall Hill, just below the Tor, planting a seed for the original thorn tree.

Roundheads felled the tree during the English Civil War, when forces led by Oliver Cromwell (pictured) waged a vicious battle against the Crown.

However, locals salvaged the roots of the original tree, hiding it in secret locations around Glastonbury.

It was then replanted on the hill in 1951. Other cuttings were also grown and placed around the town - including its famous Glastonbury Abbey.

Experts had verified that the tree - known as the Crategus Monogyna Bi Flora - originated from the Middle East.

A sprig of holy thorns was taken from the Thorn tree by Glastonbury's St Johns Church on Wednesday and sent to the Queen.

The 100-year-old tradition will see the thorns sit on Her Majesty's dinner table on Christmas Day

I find it ironic that modern day vandals think they might justify an act such as this. An older vandal, Oliver Cromwell, believed he had reason too. I have a reason to find this interesting on many levels.

Many of my ancestors were thrown from England, exiled, by Cromwell and his Roundheads. Many lost all they owned and were sent to Barbados. From there they came to the colonies and family remaining in England that owned large parts of the Virginia Company fought a losing battle against Cromwell and other companies and lost their charter and much of their fortune.

They had the last laugh though as they prospered both financially and as individuals here in America. Cromwell's life became a caricature as he wore purple robes with ermine linings emulating those he had fought, killed and executed. After death things got worse for Ollie.

There has long been a family story about an ancestor who traveled to England in January of 1661 for business and witnessed Cromwell's body disinterred and symbolically executed. Many, including me, have a birthday of January 30 which is the anniversary of his symbolic execution.

I pray the tree is born anew.

Berkeley Still Keepin' Nukes Out And Traitor Spies In.

Bob's button & baubles
Bob Meola. Bob's quite a guy. He thinks Bradley Manning is a hero and should get a medal. Bob's been pitching crap since the 60s. Bob has been at the forefront to ban Marine recruitment in Berkeley because he doesn't like Marines, he thinks that they kill too much. Bob was at the forefront wanting to investigate and sideline John Yoo for war crimes (Yoo worked in the Bush Administration Department of Justice which offered the wrong type of justice to people such as Meola) who was teaching at Boalt Hall, UC Berkeley.

Berkeley may pass resolution honoring Army private who gave classified docs to Wikileaks

Bob, who like to wear a lot of peace symbols and buttons, now want to honor Bradley Manning who has stated he leaked secret documents to WeakiLeaks. That Bob, what a worn out boring old hippie guy.

Bob Meola is Chairperson of the Berkeley Peace and Justice Commission and a registered Green. He is also a member of the Courage to Resist Organizing Collective, a member of the War Resisters League National Committee, and the Movement for a Democratic Society Organizing Committee.

With responsibilities ranging from recommending City positions on global justice issues to reviewing proposed Sister City relationships to helping enforce the city’s Nuclear Free Berkeley Act, the Commission helps Berkeley stand as a model of thinking Green globally and acting Green locally.”

The Commission’s main function has been to advise the Berkeley City Council and the Berkeley Unified School District on matters of Peace and Justice. The enabling ordinance states that, “‘peace and social justice’ shall refer to the goal of creating a world community in which the relations between people are based on equality, respect for human rights, and the abhorrence of exploitation and all forms of oppression.”

The legislation recognizes that “Individual citizens, unless organized, are virtually powerless in confronting and influencing larger government bodies” and “It is the responsibility of one and all to labor hard for peace and justice within forums of appropriate scale.”

Somewhere in N Korea a frustrated general is once again rerouting nuclear missiles because Bob and friends made Berkeley a nuclear free zone. But Berkeley will have another hero in Bradley Manning who because he had a snit with his boyfriend leaked documents that will hurt the military. That makes Bob very happy.

See Bob run. See Bob play. See Bob helping peaceful Bradley get 1,000s killed in the name of brotherhood!

Dream Act A Legal Way To Corrupt Politics With Illegals

Democrats and their bought and paid for subsidiary, the Latino bloc, love the Dream Act. For them, what's not to love? Both get what they want, more legal illegal votes for one and legality not deserved for the other.

The Dems must have bullied, bought and threatened enough to put it up for a vote. I think voters had an opinion about these types of multi-layered corrupt activities last November 2. Maybe the Dems missed that.

Nah, they have a long history of vote buying. It's a party Tammany Hall thing.

Harrah Reid Tries To Slip Poker In Back Door

Harry Reid tries to add online poker to tax bill

Already, the online poker proposal has exposed the Nevada Democrat to charges of flip-flopping on a controversial issue, as well as using his Senate leadership position to repay big casino interests that helped him win reelection in a hard-fought campaign against Republican Sharron Angle last month.

Reid, who has previously opposed online gambling, declined to comment Monday through a spokesman.

PAYOLA!

Why Can't We Get Rid Of Fed Depts Like The FCC & The DOE

Now the FCC wants to do for the Internet what the DOE has done for education. A dumber, slower, more expensive, govt controlled Internet is not the answer to our problems, but a more nimble electorate might help some of our problems by eliminating both the FCC and the DOE. Actually, both DOE.

To NYT Charles Blow, Who Cares If You Won't Mention Sarah Palin?

She Who Must Not Be Named
By CHARLES M. BLOW

When will you, Mr Blow, write something readable?

Tea Party Nation: Saul Anuzis For RNC Chair

Good call.

Rebuffed by Sarah Palin, tea party group picks Saul Anuzis

Technology, smarts, focus and he is neither part of the 'club' nor a press hog. Anuzis should be supported by all real conservatives.

Besides Bill Gates, Who Isn't Down & Out In Obama's Economy?

I once had my son do what he thought a simple (and stupid) project. One evening I gave him a new notebook of paper and some pencils. I explained that the next morning I would awaken him and he was to start filling the pages with things that he saw that were taxed.

Down and Out on $250,000 a Year

The next morning, as promised, I woke him up, but I brought him some juice and cereal. I told him to enjoy his breakfast before he started logging in taxed objects.

As I left for work he had filled out two pages. By the end of the day he was tired, cranky and had a look that said, "Don't say I told you so." He had run out of pages, but he looked at me and said, "I know of something not taxed!

"The AIR!"

I handed him a copy of the EPA's rules, regulations and cost to the taxpayer and went and made a strong drink.

I didn't know if I had created a thoughtful conservative or a child hellbent on a life of crime. He's not in jail. Yet.

The Weight Of Water And Murder On Smuttynose Island

The Hontvet House on Smuttynose Island
The "murder" house on Smuttynose Island is long gone, ravaged by 19th century souvenir hunters who literally carried away blood spattered bits of wall and floorboard. Today the bodies of Anethe Christensen and Karen Christensen lie in a quiet Portsmouth, NH cemetery, ten miles in from their island home. A few streets away in a glass case an ax with a broken handle, the one most experts agree Louis Wagner used to carve the life from the two Norwegian immigrants, lies on mute display.

I used to go to Monhegan Island as much as I could. Smuttynose is right next to it, but I only went there a few times. Like so many islands along the Maine coast Monhegan and Smuttynose not only have a long and interesting history, they are also beautiful. And rugged.

Murder, Mayhem & Bad Sex. WikiLeaks Leaky Love

Honeytrap? Boy already guilty of murder gets caught for rape bad sex.

The Wikileaks sex files: How two one-night stands sparked a worldwide hunt for Julian Assange

The Stockholm police want to question him regarding the possible rape of a woman and separate allegations from another Swedish admirer, with whom he was having a concurrent fling. But there remains a huge question mark over the evidence. Many people believe that the 39-year-old Australian-born whistleblower is the victim of a U.S. government dirty tricks campaign.
They argue that the whole squalid affair is a sexfalla, which translates loosely from the Swedish as a ‘honeytrap’.
One thing is clear, though: Sweden’s complex rape laws are central to the story.

This boy's life is sad on so many levels. The Left's take on life is also sad and it is also ironic as they pounce on each other in a fight to be more politically correct without appearing to be so.

Sarah, a  ‘campus sexual equity officer’ had sex with Julian and then when she found he had had sex with another she flew into action using her previously posted program of revenge:

Entitled ‘7 Steps to Legal Revenge’, it explains how women can use courts to get their own back on unfaithful lovers.

Step 7 says: ‘Go to it and keep your goal in sight. Make sure your victim suffers just as you did.’

Both girls are furious at being hurt, Julian is mad about being outed and hurt, but none of the 3 are ashamed at the hurt and murder they have caused.

Now may we call this the case of the Leaky Leaker Weepy Over Leaky Lipped Lovers Not Murder & Mayhem?

Voinovich Proves His Career Is A Lie & Sides With Obama To Raise Taxes

What will Crying George Voinovich's legacy? A back-stabbing traitor might sum it up.

Retiring Sen. George Voinovich to oppose any extension of Bush-era tax cuts

Voinovich has bucked his party on the tax-cut issue before. He was the only Republican senator to oppose the cuts when they were first proposed in 2000. Three years later, he joined with Sen. Olympia Snowe (R-Maine) in opposing President George W. Bush's proposed $700-billion tax-cut package, eventually succeeding in bringing the price tag down to $350 billion.

Voinovich went on to say that he is doing so because there is no linkage to tax reform. His idea of tax reform would make Milton Friedman cry. We should tell Voinovich that if he wants linkage maybe he should scream from the Capitol Dome that there has to be similar cuts in spending to pay for letting tax payers keep more of their money.

Nah, we don't want to make him cry again.

Apropos: Geithner As Rube Goldberg

Brand new high tech $100 US bills. They are useless because of the over complex production process which results in flaws, ie, the process renders the result useless. To complete the fun these new worthless bills are the first to have Geithner's signature on them.

The Fed Has a $110 Billion Problem with New Benjamins

The redesigned bills are the first $100 bills to feature Treasury Secretary Tim Geithner’s signature. But to stave off a cash crunch as existing $100 bills deteriorate and can’t be replaced, the Federal Reserve has ordered renewed production of the current-design $100 bills, which feature Bush Treasury Secretary Hank Paulson's signature and do not have the new security features.

Rube Goldberg is somewhere smiling. An actual printer and founding father of our nation, Benjamin Franklin, is not.

Obama's Dept of Kafka Orders No WikiLeak Reading By Workers

Government Workers Ordered Not to Read Wikileaks Cables

I have it on good word that the Obama Administration will next order that government workers will not be allowed to read Walt Whitman. After all officiousness is a problem when mentioned. To liberals.

Of course, it is convenient for the administration that so few people read main stream media so they won't have to have roving bands of enforcers enforcing ridiculously stupid laws against those without the required security clearance or authorization who are reading newspaper publications of classified material on their Metro ride to work.

Who hired the morons at the Office of Management and Budget who ordered such a stupid and illegal order.

The demons who tormented Franz Kafka are now the bureaucrats who issue such orders in this our nation. This is now our trial.

The Salacious Madam X By John Singer Sargent

One of my favorite paintings (I have many) is Madam X. I knew of the scandal which swept Parisian society over the painting, but was not aware of the back ground.

JSS Gallery has a very well written piece about the background and history of the painting.

As seen today

As photographed in the Salon 1884

Sargent was a master painter. You will find more of his work HERE.

Sissy Boy Julian Assange Blackmails US Over His Illegally Obtained Leaks

Julian Assange, a boy to look up to, is blackmailing the United States and the governments of other nations. The main stream media, desperate for any readership, is whining freedom of speech and renaming Assange's crime as "insurance."

WikiLeaks Ready to Release Giant 'Insurance' File if Shut Down

Is this two-bit punk for real? My 4' 11" grandmother knew how to handle punks too big for their britches whether they were 6' 2" or a little sex offender like sissy boy Assange. She slapped them down.

Obviously the mental giants of the Obama Administration need my grandmother. Of course a person with a moral compass and some spine scares them which is why they feel more of a camaraderie with the likes of a creep like Julian Assange. More likely, Obama and peers are scared of him which is even scarier.

The Deep Moral & Political Corruption And Hypocrisy Of Harry Reid

Latter-day Saints reject all forms of gambling as a pernicious evil to society.

Reid pushes bill to allow for online gambling

Reid's office would not answer questions about the legislation.
...
Casino companies were among Reid's biggest campaign donors in the last election. MGM Resorts International, through its employees and political action committee, donated $192,000 to his campaign, the most of any single company, according to the Center for Responsive Politics. Meanwhile, employees and the PAC at Harrah's Entertainment chipped in an additional $83,100. Harrah's recently changed its name to Caesars Entertainment Corp.

And

According to a February 9, 2006, Associated Press story by John Solomon, Reid wrote letters and had "routine contacts" with lobbying partners and clients of disgraced lobbyist Jack Abramoff. [17] Reid's actions aided the interests of Abramoff's Native American clients. Reid has acknowledged receiving $61,000 from clients or collegues of Abramoff, much of which was given to Reid by indian tribes after Abramoff was hired. [18] Reid collected donations around the time of each action he took to help Abromoff's clients. Ethics rules require senators to avoid even the appearance of a conflict of interest in legislative matters regarding campaign donors. While some politicans have returned contributions they received from Abramoff or his clients, Harry Reid has steadfastly refused claiming the Abramoff matter "is a Republican scandal."

Mormon elders and Bishops own casinos and maybe they believe that since they are not gambling (being a casino is no gamble) they are not sinning and they are just making money. It appears that Harry Reid is making money in the same way except he is bypassing the gambler and getting money straight from the casinos. In return he gets legislation for them introduced. That is pure corruption.

Harry Reid's moral and political corruption is now complete. His lack of shame is the shame of Nevada and the nation.

Pelosi's Tax Increase: House Dems Still Don't Get It

They are so lame that the have a president who has thrown them under the bus and an electorate that just 'shellacked' them at the polls, but even though they still have a majority they are hiding behind Republicans because they are gutless.

Menendez Likens Tax Fight to Negotiating With Terrorists

Senate Democrats lashed out at Republicans on Friday, accusing them of holding the nation’s economic prosperity hostage for the benefit of the wealthy and likening the GOP to a terrorist organization.

If anybody has mentioned that President Obama's name sounds Arabic, Dems run in a circle screaming like little wusses shrieking "racist", but when they have to finally show some guts they run around in circles like little wusses shrieking that Republicans are "terrorists."

Remember when they tried to campaign on "acting like adults"? Yeah, it cracked me up too.

They still don't get it, but if they want to play with people's livelihoods because they want voters to think they might know what 'standing by our principles' means, put it to a vote.

If the Dems saw a real terrorist they'd run in circles screaming like little...

Yeah, their act gets tiresome.

Dear Mayor Bloomberg, I've been Abroad. So What?

Mayor Bloomberg thinks we're beneath him. We kan't reed. Wer tu stoopid tu travell. We ain't frum nu York.

I witnessed Romans yell racial and vulgar words at a Chinese man trying to save a bus seat for his wife and baby still attempting to enter a bus. All because an Italian woman wanted the seat. I watched two Parisian women sitting in a subway car beneath a 'No Fume' sign puffin' away as if 'Smoking in the Boys Room' soundtrack was blaring away in their heads. And nothing says foreign intrigue like observing a Japanese man doing a two knuckle nose pick just before his 2:00 AM drunken debut as a Karaoke performer to impress his peers in shady Osaka "bar."

“If you look at the U.S., you look at who we’re electing to Congress, to the Senate — they can’t read. I’ll bet you a bunch of these people don’t have passports.”

I am sure Mayor Bloomberg panders to a better crowd both foreign and domestic. A crowd that, say, thinks his billionaire words are actually worth listening to, but then who is pandering? Bloomberg isn't just a billionaire mayor, he is a "brilliant" buffoon billionaire mayor who has once again made NYC an economic and cultural joke with his liberal/progressive mommyesque policies.

Foreign travel is entertaining, educational and, for many such as me, emotional, but, if you are an American, seeing one's own country is inspirational. Maybe Bloomberg should do those things that has inspired so many foreigners that visit or choose to move to the United States.

Has Bloomberg stood in a Southwestern American desert at night to look at the stars, smell the air and desert and realize just how small a man can be? Has Bloomberg walked the streets of a small Maine village to taste the wonders coming from restaurants, bakeries and the back of a farmer's truck bed of produce? Does he recognize and understand the local dialect? Would he find it crass that he would need actual cash because many don't accept credit cards?

How many times has a Bloomberg stood the bloodied grounds of an Antietam hearing the howls of pain and rage as long lost cannon and guns fire and bayonets plunge into bodies of men willing to die for what they believe? Does a Bloomberg even really know why those men from the North and the South fought? He won't find the answer while dining at The Harvard Club in Manhattan nor in the salons of Paris.

Has Bloomberg ever stopped to feel the power of the Ohio, Mississippi or Colorado rivers? Has he pondered his fortune due to pioneers such as those who founded the K. K. Bene Israel (1824) in Cincinnati or the United Hebrew Congregation (1837) in Missouri or Temple Aaron (1881) in Colorado? His fore bearers walked the walk. Insufferable snobs like Mayor Mike just chat the chat.

How about the vistas of wheat, corn and chickpea that feed their cities? The small towns that supply the military for their protection? The vast forests that supply the paper, medicines and products for their lifestyle? I'm sure they have seen the stunning salt deposits and mines that produce a life sustaining product they so shun.

Has Bloomberg a 'passport' he has used in America?

So, yeah little guy, I can read, I have a passport and I have traveled the world, but seeing my 50 states in all their wonder has always been more important to me. Feel good when you look down at people like me. I will look at you with sadness for all that is missing in your pathetic elite club, the hatred for those that scare you because they are different and the shallow vision you have of this life.

I'm sure you will find a nice little salt and smoke free Cathay restaurant where they will worship you. Or throw your arrogant and ignorant butt out.

You're a putz, only smaller and dumber.

Ref: Acknowleging God Is Unsportsmanlike Conduct

Are the refs interpreting the rules on their own or are they being told to do this. I go with the latter because God has been pushed out of every other corner of education. Acknowledging God is probably offensive to the nuanced minds of educators. After all, their are just scientific enough that our children keep falling behind the rest of the world. They must be so proud.

1959 Ford Fairlane: My 1st Car

It was a battle of wills. I had my eye on a shiny new showroom car. My mother had her eye on me buying a car with my own money.

So, I did.

I bought a 1959 Ford Fairlane from (I think his name was) Butch Bowman for $40. It was a beautiful two tone, brown and baby diarrhea tan with a Micky Mouse mystery shifter on the tree. There were stickers all over the rear window and a reverse opening hood over the engine. The reverse opening hood allowed the oil leaking from the head to jauntily streak down the sides of the car in place of painted flames. It belched smoke and sounded like a broken tank.

I parked it right in front of the house for 2 weeks.

On week 3, when I observed that my mother was unmoved, I upped the ante. I parked it right next to my mother's shiny new showroom car downtown every chance I got. With shiny Hubert Humphrey for President bumper stickers. On both front and back pitted and chrome peeling bumpers.

I got parking tickets and she didn't. I got tickets for safety violations, but, alas, she didn't.

Week 4 started with bad news. Mel, "my" local automotive repairman informed me that Butch had evidently added some saw dust to the engine to reduce the knocking of bad parts. I believe this was called an enhancement to sell said vehicle to an unsuspecting automotive dummy. That's be me.

During the rest of week 4 (and all through week 5) I caught up on mowing our rather large lawn, cleaned leaves, gutters and other household chores which my mother had promised to pay me for months before. With $85 burning my pocket I paid Mel, "my" automotive expert repairman, for the repairs on my $40 beauty. He also informed me of the need of a new transmission, muffler, tailpipe and shocks. I knew about the shocks because I had been informed that their squeaking could be heard a block away.

My mother, quite pleased, reminded me that, according to her math, I could have purchased a $125 vehicle if I had only completed the work when she had originally asked me and avoided such needs as new transmissions and mufflers. She expected my further work would raise the necessary capital to make those repairs in a timely manner. She had math skills and a memory for detail like that.

Week 6 brought me good news from Mel. He had recently found a $65 used transmission and a $20 muffler and informed me that with proper application of Coke cans I could extend the current tailpipe. To show independence I instead used Vernor's Ginger Ale cans I got from our local beer (Schlitz, PBR, etc) and wine (Gallo) retailer who went by the Spot due to the rather large discoloration on his left cheek. With another $85 (in parts), $9 in fluids and $159 in labor (Mel also had an eye for detail and math skills like that) my $40 car was sounding, but not looking, better. For the current $378 spent I thought it should.

Week 7 brought me a note from the high school principle that my vehicle was banned from the school parking lot because of the smell. Mel was furious at the slight, but continued to look for leaks.

Week 8. Bummer. My "girlfriend" mentioned that she couldn't actually attend the prom with me as she had inadvertently accepted the kind invitation of a kid named Andy. His father, a mere dentist, had bought him a new Ford Mustang. I vowed to have another dentist complete my dental braces work. My mother said that for pride alone this was a good thought, but since his father was the only dentist in town and my Ford Fairlane couldn't make the 30 mile trip to Columbus I should reconsider my pride.

Week 9 our local Barney Fife, Smitty, gave me a speeding ticket for doing 35 mph in a 25 zone. He informed me I had an out if I took a photograph to court when I appeared. All I had to do was show the judge and he would rule that there had been a mistake because it would be obvious to him that my car was incapable of attaining 35 mph. That Smitty, quite a joker he was. My beautiful speedster cost me $57 in fines and court costs and another $50 dollars for a AAA "Safe Driving" course. $485.

Week 10. End of the school year! Even though I was totally available for prom and other celebratory events dotting my calendar I chose instead to investigate the countryside surrounding our community. $39.50 for the tow back to town, but with summer upon me I was now open to do lots of work around the neighborhood to meet my mounting costs.

Week 11 was really cool because Mrs. Lewis told me that I had done such a good job on her yard that I needn't waste gas money driving to her place. She would pick me up and let me use her lawn mower. What a sweetheart.

Week 12 was one of education. Not knowing what a rotor cap was I was surprised to find out mine had failed causing quite a bit of damage. Mel also informed me that my Maxwell House Steering column needed repair. I began to understand economies better as I realized Maxwell had diversified into other products besides coffee. Mel said I had a lot to learn, but he'd give me a discount on the repairs. Add $185.

To augment my lawn income I took on the responsibility of life guarding at Eckles Lake. Mr. Eckles was kind enough to assist me in stalling further paint failure on my vehicle by allowing me to park behind a stand of trees at the far end of the parking lot. That kindness and the extra $11 per week was fattening both my pride and my wallet.

Week 13. The number alone should have warned me. My Ides of March in automotive history. Exiting a convivial place of community called the Surrey Lounge where I had just played my first band job (an additional $6!) I found my vehicle slanting to one side in the parking spot where I had left it some 3 hours prior to my debut as a rock n roll star. Luckily no patrons other than a local of alcoholic fame named Flowers had attended our show so there was no one to see my embarrassment. Mel listed the repair as "ball joint", "strut" and a "Beemans brake drum". I learned that Beemans not only made my favorite gum, but brakes as well. My mother kindly reminded me that it wasn't March, that I wasn't Caesar and that ides was Latin for 15 which I should have learned as a freshman. Point taken. Add $123 for parts and labor.

Week 14. As I pulled into Mel's repair shop I couldn't but help admiring his new (as in shiny showroom new) International Harvest pickup truck. As he showed me the interior including the push button radio (My beauty had the hole, but lacked the appliance as Butch had said that the radio, when on, had dimmed the headlights. It must have been a really powerful radio!) I told Mel of the strange noise coming from beneath my vehicle. With out even blinking Mel told me he had been worrying about my "trans-national axle". I queried the need and the cost. Mel said that it could be a life and death decision and that the part(s), while fairly expensive, were but a small percentage because of labor costs such as the extra men to hold up the car as he worked underneath plus the added insurance costs due to the danger. $303.

I told him I had to check my bank account(s). With the addition of my Christmas account I found myself only $253 short. Time to get an advance on my pay!

Week 15. The car is gone to a far better place. My mother gently said that maybe I shouldn't hang around Mel's anymore because she had heard "some things".

Week 16 was looking up as I had acquired employment at a local pizza parlor. The owner said that I could use his vehicle (a brand new Caddy!) for deliveries and that all my friends could all come out to his new (and big!) house for a party after my first Saturday as he was leaving for a short trip to Mexico on Sunday. Unfortunately, the job didn't materialize. My mother said he had been arrested for something called cannabis. I didn't even know that cannibals were still around.

Even though that summer was really boring I still remember my first car. BTW, I really blew it. I just saw a 1959 Ford Fairlane for sale on the Internet for $16,995.00! I could've made a fortune.

Are You An Althouse Hillbilly?

Thanks again Ann for your one sided fanning of partisan hate. This crappy band according to Wikipedia has trashed on stage every president since Reagan, also John Kerry, Hillary Clinton and Al Gore. But don't let the facts get in the way of throwing more red meat to your Althouse Hillbillies. They might just buy a toaster on Amazon for you!

Golllllee! Miss Mabel just drove her cute little Audi over here and dropped off a paper on constitutional law and Federalism. Then we sat and jawed on the front porch right next to that old washer, drinking some sweet tea and gnawing on some creek crackers and red meat tartare. Don't need no damned toaster.

It were fun.

As Europe Lectured They Took US Bailout Dollars

Americans angry over the bailouts, stimulus funny money and the general "too big too fail" mentality amongst the financial geniuses in Washington will be thrilled to find out that billions of dollars went to Europe. Our banks are being hammered by bad loans pushed on them by Bwarney Frank, Dodd and the other losers in Congress and those banks have failed, lost 100s of millions or have had to hose shareholders, but foreign banks got the bucks even as their governments lectured America on economics.

European banks took big slice of Fed aid

Many of the worst dim bulbs and losers got tossed in the last election because of thinking such as this. Now it is time to toss the president and his economic allies in the Senate in the next election. This economic theory isn't a theory anymore, it is a proven disaster from stimulus, cap and trade, bailouts, health care reform and buying huge chunks of corporations to support their buddies the unions.

Cut spending by 10%, cut government programs by 10% and fire 25% of bureaucrats including contractors. That'd be a start. In the second round do it it all over again.
