I Love Old Motels

Their architecture is fun. Not always good, but fun. Route 66 is the road of fame and movies, but the National Road, Route 40, has some really great things built that I remember from my childhood. In Appalachia there was the "Snake Pit" with giant snakes pictured on their signs for miles and miles and the snakes were about 10" in reality.

Here in Ohio Route 40 is very cool. As a child and until now with my wife and children I have loved going to the Ding Ho Chinese Restaurant on West Broad Street in Columbus, Ohio (Hint: Chicken with vegetables, Won Ton Soup and and egg roll). The family that still owns it are really good and fine people.

Near there is the Route 40 Motel. So incredibly ugly/fun architecture that I remember from childhood.
