At What Point Did America Allow Morons To Run Our Lives?

Really. When did we say go right ahead and take the power to micromanage our lives? More importantly, at what point did we allow mommyesque morons to tell us that we are out of line to protest this takeover of our lives?

New nutrition rules may be no party for students
The cake, cookies and candy at the school parties you might remember will become a no-no if the state approves new nutrition guidelines.

No soup for you! Mike targets salt sellers
Mayor Bloomberg's latest health campaign -- cutting salt intake -- has targeted soup as one of the big sodium offenders to be taken down with new city ads.

CALIFORNIA / Sex questions found not to violate parents' rights / Despite indecorum of parts of survey, court denies appeal
"Parents have a right to inform their children when and as they wish on the subject of sex," said Judge Stephen Reinhardt in the 3-0 ruling. "They have no constitutional right, however, to prevent a public school from providing its students with whatever information it wishes to provide, sexual or otherwise."

There is consistency here if you look at the weather in their world.
  •  Individuals do not have the right to make individual decisions.
  • Government has the power to force its will on the governed because elected officials do not do the actual rule making and enforcement of government power.
  • Government units are more important than societal, family and local units.
In our world there are people making decisions for us that we have no right to refuse. I guess, to make our lives easier, we have acted like morons to allow this.
