Using Illegal Aliens As A Political Prop II

Arizona passed a law to crack down on illegal immigrants that are flooding their borders, killing their citizens and draining their public and private coffers. Was it a good bill? I think so, but many conservatives disagree because they say conservatives will be portrayed as racists which fits the current liberal meme of any disagreement with Obama is rooted in racism. It's false, they know it, but hey, why let a crisis go to waste, eh? Besides, the left wants to win and they don't give a whit how they win.

This time around conservatives should force the debate. Arizona did us a favor by doing just that, forcing the debate, but now we need to base the debate in the law, economics and fairness. Yeah, I know fairness for hard working Americans is out of fashion, but isn't it time we bring it back?

The Anchoress has a good set of points and suggestions which I recommend to you:

Dems Replay May 2006 Tactic
Don’t kid yourselves. They were going to do this whether Arizona passed a law or not.

The Dems and the left are replaying what they did in May of 2006: organizing nationwide marches with preprinted signs (courtesy, I am sure, of A.N.S.W.E.R.) and they’re going to pull the same street theater that got the right into an screaming “send them all back, right now!” uproar in 2006, which the media and dems capitalized on, to the detriment of the right.

The left went on to win that election, and since then have you seen these “uprisings” every May 1 or May 5? Since then, in fact, has much been said or done on immigration?

Nope.

This time conservatives must to face the usual crap storm head on and not back down, but drive the issue based on law and logic until even the main stream media gets it. Yep, we need to use a KISS on the media because if we don't Keep It Simple Stupid enough, the media might not get it. Even if they do get it, they'll probably cower in a self doubt that would lead them to think that they may be wrong, but good lessons need to be applied often.

Wanting our government and illegal aliens to abide by the law is not racist. That Democrats will use this issue to gain more votes and power is racist.
