Who is being bought with what?
Three Questions for Health Care Reform
First, what are the progressives getting? What are those in Washington gaining by passing this health care bill by any means necessary? Bribery, coercion, lies and deception have all been employed — so what is it that this health care bill is really all about?
At least we got a second Louisiana purchase and a bit of honesty:
SEN. MARY LANDRIEU (D-LA.): And so it came to pass that Landrieu walked onto the Senate floor midafternoon Saturday to announce her aye vote -- and to trumpet the financial "fix" she had arranged for Louisiana. "I am not going to be defensive," she declared. "And it's not a $100 million fix. It's a $300 million fix."
I'd say that we are being sold for thirty pieces of silver, but I doubt anyone in Congress really understands the meaning.
