The press prides itself for taking down bad government with dramatic stories in which intrepid reporters dig out and take the bad eggs down from the halls of our three branches. Now the media is lining up for handouts from those they are supposed to watch. If they succeed, it will be a win-win for the press as they move from being the fifth column to becoming the fourth branch of government. Department of Information, I guess. No guessing to whom they will be beholding to.

Moving from fox to full time blue hen for the bureaucracy shouldn't be that much of a stretch for the ink barrel bunch. Except they can no longer afford to buy ink by the barrel. That's why they're willing to sleep with the chickens to get free inked eggs for public dissemination courtesy of our friendly, can't be fired, union bureaucrats of the federal government. That'll be a cold bed.
A tamed and neutered fox is still a fox, but would be better still as a decoration collar piece. Wait, that's what they've become, decoration.
