Film "Nativity" allowed to be shown at public schools.

ACLU Virginia spokesman Kent Willis said the screenings were "perfectly
acceptable" as long as the schools were not sponsoring the event, they were not
mandatory, and the Christian group was not getting any special treatment other
student organizations would be unable to get.

"Certainly the teachers shouldn't be promoting a religious event," Boston
added. "Our main concern would be if any public school were screening this
devotional film and expecting all of the students to watch it. That would be
schools sponsoring religion - we couldn't have that."

Tom Flynn of the secularist Center for Inquiry said there was no law that
would allow schools to reject the screenings, even though he felt the current
laws were "probably more lenient in this situation than is probably
ideal."

House Speaker-elect Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) told reporters on Wednesday that she
feels it is "sad" that President Bush continues to blame Iraqi insurgent
violence on al Qaeda.

Sad? Sad is when your bambino doesn't make the grade or when the anti-pasto is too vinergary. It is tragic when House Speaker-elect is too stupid to represent America, let alone protect it or its soldiers.

I was all for giving this person a two year run to embarass her party, but now it is apparent that she is criminally stupid.

Jim Webb is everyone's crazy uncle

When I moved to Virginia in 1984 I was returning to the home of my ancestors. My ancestors were honest hardworking people who lived in places ranging from Jamestown to Goochland county. My great x 3 grandfather built outside of Cartersville, Virginia in 1750 and lived their until carpetbaggers tried to take their home and land. My great-great grandfather hoodwinked them with land swaps, was able to sneak his saw mill out under the cover of darkness and moved the family to lands granted other family members by Lord Fairfax in Ohio. They had lived in Virginia for over 220 years.

In 1984, Ronald Reagan invited us then still young people to be part of the Reagan Revolution and I answered the call. I worked on Capitol Hill and lived in Dumfries just south of the Occoquan. I loved Virginia. It felt like home.

James Webb seemed quite the dashing man as he rose through the Reagan administration. I read his books, read and saw him on the Hill and Webb appeared brash and good for what ailed the military in a post Carter world.

The Jim Webb I saw on the campaign trail for one of the Virginia senate seats this last election was a caricature of the James Webb I saw during the Reagan years. Reagan, supposedly one of Webb's favorite Presidents, would be ashamed to be seen with Webb today. The Gipper believed Teddy and spoke quietly while carrying a big stick. Webb talks loudly and totes a small mindedness.

"How's your boy?" Bush asked, referring to Webb's son, a Marine serving in
Iraq.

"I'd like to get them out of Iraq, Mr. President," Webb responded,
echoing a campaign theme.

"That's not what I asked you," Bush said. "How's your boy?"

"That's between me and my boy, Mr. President," Webb said coldly, ending
the conversation on the State Floor of the East Wing of the White House.

Jimmy Webb hasn't even been sworn in yet and has already become an embarassment.

Iraq: Civil War

Okay, Matt Lauer and other media scholars have made the call for their own reasons that Iraq is officially doomed by civil war. Thus, they just must ask the question about how fast does the United States get out.

They have their own agenda.

They are either morons or against a free and democratic Iraq. Which is worse?

Sunni, Shia, Kurd and the Iraqi government. These players have agendas of their own and those agendas do not seem to even agree about what they are fighting about.

Could Iraq be the first civil war ever without battles, generals, explicit war
aims, the use of partisan public rhetoric by civilian leaders, mass public
participation and targets of a predominantly military nature? Even if Iraq today
possessed these characteristics, it would still lack something even more
important: the struggle for authority.

The Kurds are looking on not wanting any part. The Shias, Shites and the Iraqi government do agree on the issue of not screwing with the Kurds. Thank God for their innate sense of surviving humiliation that Hamas, Hezballah and their buddies lack. The Kurds could form their own government and country if they choose to, even against President Bush and Turkey. Probably Iran too.

The Sunnis, both secular Baathists and the zealot Wahhabists, have created much of the murder and hatred as they have since their born in hell alliance wedded them. They take and hold no ground. They make no organized, let alone eloquent, plea for national unity nor present consistent reason for their effort. They are thugs. They are not a force that would drive the nation to their side mentally, loyally and politically. They are terrorists.

They Shias are a fractured group within which the two sides have different goals. Muqtada al-Sadr and his followers and their allies formed against Hussein while he still sat in power. The "redheaded" step child of this union are the Badr group and allies and they are sock puppets for Iran where many trained and who they have allegiance to. Sadr is nationalistic and Badr is pan-Iranian. Together, they couldn't organize a decent (dysfunctional) family picnic let alone a national government.

The Iraqi national Government is neither. It is fully infiltrated by both Sunni and Shia and at different levels of government affairs they undermine the dream of national unity.

Iran is the puppet master in Iraq. Iran is playing all ends against the middle for their own gain. It is bad enough that Iran has a free Afghanistan to the east, they cannot afford a free and independent Iraq to the west. This is an affront to Iran as a power and a threat to their goal of Iran becoming the regional leader to destroy Israel. If they can achieve this destruction, Iran believes the rest of the world is do-able.

Iran, with the help of Hamas, Hezballah and other middle eastern countries and groups, is working hard to take the United States out of the game so as not to be flanked east and west. Russia is encouraging Iran as China encourages North Korea to act up for their own goals. Russia wants a unstable world of non-American power and China, at the very least, wants Taiwan. That there would be a middle east of theocracies robbing individuals, groups and governments of their freedom and their lives for not sharing a theocratic vision is of no concern of theirs, but each urges Iran on for their own goals.

There is no civil war in Iraq, just time honored thievery, thuggery and murder with each noun having its own goal. It is time for those that wish to see freedom fail in Iraq to state what their real goals are.

American media IS the 5th column

England's has the 6th, France and Europe the 7th and so forth.

Now and in the future, the media will do our work. All we need are martyrs
sufficient in number to keep a steady stream of orange flames and black smoke
before their cameras, and to dump before them bodies that are stone-cold dead,
and bear all over them the unmistakable blue marks of power drills and other
disfigurements.

Of such martyrs, we need each day only a handful. In 365 successive
days, we need fewer than one thousand.

This small band of brothers can defeat the most powerful army in human
history. The path, my brothers, is to come to dominate the minds of their
public, which they must suppose is supporting them, and in reality turns quite
quickly into our best ally.

This is not so huge a task, my brothers! In the long run of glorious
history, the time required is like the blinking of an eye.

I would love to hear why our media is doing this. I know, they're dimmicrats, etc., but what is their reasoning, their logic and just how far down the road are they looking? Or are they just your plain and simple traitors?

Pryce Beats Kilroy

It's a win, I guess.

Republican Deborah Pryce was declared the winner this morning of a central Ohio
congressional race that remained too close to call until 20 days after the Nov.
7 election.

The four-member Franklin County Board of Elections certified final vote totals that gave Pryce the victory over Democrat Mary Jo Kilroy by 1,054 votes, a net loss of 2,482 from Pryce's unofficial election-night count. The tighter margin is within the half-percent required to trigger an automatic recount, director Matthew Damschroder said.

Rangel says men join the army only if they can’t have “a decent career”

Charlie is still doing his best to get his mug on TV. He keeps kicking our troops to kick up his visibility. Charlie Rangel should be a pimp not a Congressman. And NO, I do not think they are the same!

I want to make it abundantly clear: if there’s anyone who believes that these
youngsters want to fight, as the Pentagon and some generals have said, you can
just forget about it. No young, bright individual wants to fight just because of
a bonus and just because of educational benefits. And most all of them come from
communities of very, very high unemployment. If a young fella has an
option of having a decent career or joining the army to fight in Iraq, you can bet your life that he would not be in Iraq.

Perhaps no custom reveals our character as a Nation so clearly as our
celebration of Thanksgiving Day. Rooted deeply in our Judeo-Christian heritage,
the practice of offering thanksgiving underscores our unshakable belief in God
as the foundation of our Nation and our firm reliance upon Him from whom all
blessings flow. Both as individuals and as a people, we join with the Psalmist
in song and praise: "Give thanks unto the Lord, for He is good."One of the most
inspiring portrayals of American history is that of George Washington on his
knees in the snow at Valley Forge. That moving image personifies and testifies
to our Founders' dependence upon Divine Providence during the darkest hours of
our Revolutionary struggle. It was then - when our mettle as a Nation was tested
most severely - that the Sovereign and Judge of nations heard our plea and came
to our assistance in the form of aid from France. Thereupon General Washington
immediately called for a special day of thanksgiving among his troops.Eleven
years later, President Washington, at the request of the Congress, first
proclaimed November 26, 1789, as Thanksgiving Day. In his Thanksgiving Day
Proclamation, President Washington exhorted the people of the United States to
observe "a day of public thanksgiving and prayer" so that they might acknowledge
"with grateful hearts the many signal favors of Almighty God, especially by
affording them an opportunity peaceably to establish a form of government for
their safety and happiness." Washington also reminded us that "it is the duty of
all nations to acknowledge the providence of Almighty God, to obey His will, to
be grateful for His benefits, and humbly to implore His protection and
favor."Today let us take heart from the noble example of our first President.
Let us pause from our many activities to give thanks to almighty God for our
bountiful harvests and abundant freedoms. Let us call upon Him for continued

First, this fellow hopes Vice President Cheney dies. Then he makes all kind of malicious statements about Bush president's private lives. He's nearly finished with his prayer of Thanksgiving as he states as fact lies about Republicans in general.

Iraq terrorists against Iraq

Three cars. Thousands of ponds of explosives. Yet untold numbers of people killed, maimed and hurt.

When will the people of Iraq raise up, as a nation, against all of the terrorists using their new Democracy as a personal game of bloodbath.

Have the Sunni's used our national holiday of Thanksgiving as a cover to kill? Will the Shites use this holiday atrocity to do the same thing?

Mt Elba, circa 1750

This year was the first time since I was a child that I got to see my great grandfather's family home.


Mt Elba is on the James outside Richmond and needs a lot of work, but the Boggs family has saved the house and are doing wonderful work with it.


Mt Elba, in its day, was considered small with only 25,000 contiguous acres. It was very moving to have most of our family there together for a visit.
